Since "the change" (via surgery), my skin has given me enough problems to make a preacher cuss. My chin and nose were prone to large pores and blackheads, while my cheeks, forehead and jawline were so dry, flaky and red, I was gradually becoming ashamed to go to work or anywhere out in public. No matter what cleansing routine or expensive foundation I tried, I became more and more depressed because nothing seemed to help. I work work with mostly men and want to look my best. I was at the end of my rope, and so after reading the reviews of this product, I broke down and ordered it, eau de roma and skin's shangrila. The first time I used these, I knew I had done the right thing. Immediately, and I mean IMMEDIATELY the flakiness diminished and the redness calmed down. The most unbelievable thing is, not 48 hours after starting this regimen, a co-worker I had not seen in awhile came in and asked me what kind of makeup I used. When I asked why, she said, "Your skin looks beautiful and I can't even see any wrinkles!" I had a hard time not bursting into happy tears! At nearly 55 years old, for someone to tell you they can't see wrinkles on your face-- what a feeling!!!! I told her my foundation was a drug store brand but my skincare from LUSH was what made the difference. Let me tell you, these three products have been the miracle I was looking for. I know there are lots of serious problems in our world today, but my skin had really begun to take a toll on my self-esteem. I can't thank you enough, LUSH, for making me feel like my old self and not dreading to look in the mirror any more. If you are having serious skin problems, please PLEASE give LUSH a chance. I can only hope they work half as well for others as they have for me. Thank you LUSH from the bottom of my heart.

I am a teenager with combination skin - an oily t-zone, and a normal/dry face. For the past month of so I have been using this cleanser with Breath of fresh air toner, and imperialis moisturizer. so when I first applied this to my face, I had a pimple on my chin, and a pimple between my eyebrows. It is now a month later and not only did those 2 pimples stay there for the whole time, but they got bigger, and two more pimples formed on my chin, and one on my nose. I must say though, my cheeks did feel very soft on some days! But most of the time this left my cheeks, nose, and jaw very red, irritaded, burning, and itchy. The smell itself did not please me, because it smells like sunscreen! The Cleanser was so thin and runny that when you put this on your hand and tilted your hand just the slightest bit, it would start to drip of your hand.
Since it gave me soft skin some days, ans shows some potential of working for somebody else, i gave this 2 stars. I am not pleased with this cleanser and will not be repurchasing it!

When I first got 9 to 5 the woman working in lush recommended I use it as my nightly facial cleanser. I did that for a few weeks but sometimes my face would just feel too oily. When I did use this product I noticed it took all my makeup and a lot of dirt off of my skin so I did not want to stop using it. I have continued using this at night before bed to remove makeup and/or dirt on my face and it works wonderfully! I rub a dime size amount on all over my face and neck, remove it with a cotton pad, then I wash with a cleanser and it leaves my face feeling really clean. If I do not have a lot of time before bed or am just too tiered I will usually just use 9 to 5 but then use an extra cotton pad or two to make sure I get all of it off and my skin doesn't feel too oily before I go to bed.

I received this as a sample. 9 to 5 is… okay. Decent. Might work for some people but doesn't blow me away, essentially. It feels nice to put on and kept my skin relatively in line, as far as acne goes. I don't think it removed makeup effectively at all, though, so I'm surprised to see that as one of their main selling points. Also, it doesn't smell particularly great: not BAD, just not good. And if you're going to put perfume on my face (which is a no-no to begin with), it better smell really nice!

When I first got this I was a little confused. I instantly looked up reviews on the website & was set in the right direction. I put 9 to 5 on my face, let sit for a minute or so, & then wipe of gently with a cotton pad. My make up comes right off & my skin feels so smooth after. Even if I go a day with out putting anything on my skin I'll give this a go, & see what kind of nasty my face has picked up through out the day.
I picked up my first bottle of this in May & quickly got another incase of running out (the closest Lush store is an hour drive away) needless to say my first bottle is still more then half full.

I wear a LOT of makeup. Foundation, eyeshadow, heavy eyeliner and heavy mascara. If this sounds like you, GET THIS PRODUCT. It takes off my makeup with ease and it also is great for sensitive skin (which I have). I definitely wash my face afterwards with Angels on Bare Skin because I don't feel clean otherwise, but as a makeup remover it does absolute wonders!!

My regular oil makeup remover went up in price so I decided to try out 9to5. I was a little worried about this and got the small size because the reviews were so all over the place. I was pleased to find it to be fantastic. It smells eh okay, kind of like baby lotion. I'm used to using an oil cleanser so was not put off by the texture of this which is like putting a moisturizer on your face. I rub this onto my skin then rinse it off(unlike the directions say to wipe it with cotton pads) and then I always do a quick wash with Fresh Farmacy. I feel it cleaned the makeup off wonderfully. It is also ridiculous how smooth it leaves your skin!I can't stop stroking my face it is soooo sooo soft! ~Note it did seem to break my skin out more than usual the first 2 times I used it but I stuck with it and now my skin is clearer than it has ever been! So happy to have found a new makeup remover/cleanser.

I was so excited to find a natural makeup removing wash after my normal oil remover was raised in price by a different brand.... BUT I am back on the hunt again, this product is a great gentle cleanser. Sadly, it does not remove makeup. I can wipe a cotton ball across my face after cleansing and it removes more makeup than the cleanser does! I am not saying I cake on makeup or even wear waterproof stuff... this cleanser just does NOT remove makeup. First time I've been disappointed by Lush.

This cleanser is unreal. It smells amazing, and left my face feeling smoother than a baby's bottom. At first, it felt a little thick and I thought I didn't get it all off. There was no way that my face could be THIS soft! So, I rinsed my face and was surprised that my face WAS that soft! and makeup free too! I couldn't stop stroking my face! this cleanser is perfect for daily use and makeup removing. You don't need that much, but I still recommend the big one because it has a long shelf life!

I play sports in the Spring, and got a sample of 9-5 to try last time I was at Lush. I think it's a little too much for my skin unless if I am playing sports and have practice every day, but 9-5 is definitely the way to go if you work up a little grime during the day. I haven't tried it to remove eye makeup because I'm fearing it may be a little harsh, but I love that it can be used just with a cotton round rather than water if you're on-the-go!

I wouldn't recommend this to exfoliate or handle acne or anything, but at the end of the day, it is good to use right before heading off to bed, or refreshing yourself before the night out. People said it's greasy and I didn't think it was at all. It's mild, moisturizing and clean feeling and smells nice, but not very strong. It isn't a necessary product, but if you need something as a refresher, it's a good choice.

this product left my face red each time I used it..I gave it a good week of use and it just kept on making my face react. It's labeled for sensitive skin, which I have, and my skin did not like it. I would have to say it does take makeup off, but clogs my pores so my pores were huge!! I needed some catastrophe cosmetic mask and some coal face cleanser to pull out the gunk in my pores. I had to return this, but I gave it a good shot first. Beware sensitive skin!

I was skeptical about this product at first. I've always WASHED my face....with some type of foaming cleanser and water. When the Lush team member showed me how it worked, I was fascinated. I now use this product every night before bed. It takes off my makeup better than any other product I have used. I even tried washing my face first and THEN using 9 to 5...there was STILL dirt/makeup on my face that this picked up! It also does wonders on eye makeup without irritating my eyes. You have to try it to see how cool this stuff is!

I bought this kind of a on a whim, not really knowing what to expect. I've found that it is right for some situations, but isn't a deep cleansing daily face wash. More of a quick little grease and/or makeup remover.
I only use this product on the go/ in a hurry.
1)That minute when you are in and out of the house to change and pee, before running off somewhere else, and glance in the mirror and go "Ugh! My face is gross!!"
2) You get home at 2am, exhausted and tipsy, and just want to go to sleep. But... that makeup will cause such bad acne if you pass out without washing your face.
in such situations, it is perfect. And there was that niche in my life. It is very gentle and smells nice, and only takes a minute to use. But if I only ever used this my face would be a nightmare.

I like to use this product in the middle of a busy day when my skin starts to feel gross. I love that it doesn't need water (but is just as good when used with it) and you don't have to wipe it off if you don't want to. 9-5 leaves my skin bfeeling dewy and clean, and I usually follow it up with one of Lush's toners and boom - good to go. This is simple and just great.

I use 9 to 5 twice a day. In the morning, I use it right before i walk out the door to go somewhere. I use Eau Roma toner in the morning after 9 to 5 along with Vanishing Cream moisturizer. At night, before I go to bed, I use Tea Tree toner and Full of Grace serum bar after using 9 to 5.
It has improved my skin greatly.
One of the best, and most disgusting, part is being able to see how much dirt is on your face after you massage 9 to 5 on your face and wipe it off with a cotton round.

I wear a LOT of make-up and this takes almost all of it off! The only thing it doesn't take off is my eyeliner, but that's also because I wear a lot and I don't want to rub this stuff in my eyes too much. It does not burn my skin like other make-up removers have (I have sensitive skin). It has softened my skin and does not make it feel oily or cause break outs. It's actually pretty fantastic!

I bought this about a week ago. I have been using Herbalism, and/or Angels on bare skin. I love both of those cleansers but this one takes the cake!
I have extremely oily, acne prone skin. Almost everything makes me break out. I have seen a dermatologist since I was 11.
So I tried this and was skeptical because I have always been told to stay away from stuff that contains oils.
I had some blemishes on my face and they are gone! My skin is even, soft, hydrated, clean, and blemish free! Seriously, Lush Scientists..you guys rock!

I had been very curious about 9 to 5 for months but hadn't the courage nor money to try it out. Finally, the other day I had both. I have dry skin, so I was hoping I'd just get a clean face and nothing more. A lot of products irritate my skin. I needn't have worried--my face felt so smooth and soft, and my skin -glowed- just after one use. Stunning. I am glad to have bought this. First of all, this cleanser is just perfect. It's nice and moisturizing and makes my skin feel nice and creamy and smooth and it smells AMAZING. It also takes off all my make up really nice, so I don't have to use my super oily remover all over my face anymore-yuck! Today I used it, and popped the top closed, and a little bit flew in my eye. It didn't sting at all, and there was no irritation other than me freaking out because I anticipated it to sting. There wasn't any redness at all, and that's a super awesome thing. It's amazing.. Seriously. That little experience just made me fall in love with 9 to 5 all over again.

I currently have the little size bottle of this product, and I can tell you, I am going to be purchasing the full size. I am a person who dislikes washing their face at night, mainly due to the fact that I'm a "shower washer". I don't like washing my face at the sink because it gets so messy and wet! I know how bad it is to sleep in make-up, but I just didn't have the energy or resources at night to make the effort! I occasionally would use face wipes, but even the oil-free ones would leave me feeling sticky, and in the morning I would look all shiny and greasy, and I don't have extremely oily skin. I guess you could call it "combination". I got this on a whim after trying ultra-bland (which was a little too thick for me for make-up removal. I still use it though as a cleanser). 9 to 5 is truly wonderful. I can smoosh it all over my face after a long night, and just cotton it off! (I use mary-kay disposable facial cloths, but you can use anything, really). SOMETIMES I find myself doing it twice just to make sure I get all the gunk off of my face, but it's not enough to warrant docking a star because this stuff is perf. It won't give you that 'squeaky clean' feeling that a lot of people are used to, but It leaves my face feeling smooth, clean, soft and even somewhat moisturized, but not oily or sticky. I wake up in the morning to clean, matte skin that's never felt better. It smells of sweet orchids, and it's light enough to use it every day. This product is so good, It warranted my first ever lush review. So if you're on the fence of which LUSH cleanser to start with, try 9 to 5!

Is this more of a night time cleaner or a whenever cleanser? I wash my face twice a day could this be used for both or should i use this only once a day? It was recomended to me because i have oily skin with the reasoning that oil attracts more oil, and also because I was using Dark Angeks every day for a few months and now need to replenish the good oils in my face. The 9 - 5 Cleanser is suited to both day and evening use, as its such a gentle product, suited to helping remove stubborn makeup. Its ideal for sensitive skin, so although it would be a good makeup remover for your skin-type I would recommend trying the Herbalism now, as it can combat but is less intense than Dark Angels.Answered on 8/30/2012 by AnonymousA:

I think 9 to 5 is a great night-time cleanser, combined with maybe Dark Angels or Aqua Marina afterwards. It really takes off the grime from the day, and preps wonderfully for any more intensive treatments at night! WHELL. This is a wonderful question. I personally use it more at night, after a long day, and just smoosh it all over my face to then cotton off all my make up. HOWEVER, this really is an all-around cleanser that you could very well use more than once a day because it is so gentle. I too own both 9 to 5 and ultra bland, though I prefer the 9 to 5 as a make-up remover/cleanser, and the ultra bland as a straight-up cleanser. I like to schmear ultra bland over my face, then exfoliate with ocean salt when I want a nice facial experience, though for me, the ultra bland does not remove all the gunk from my face like the 9 to 5 does. More often than not, I find myself using 9 to 5 at night before bed, and then washing again in the morning with angels on bare skin (or any other solid cleanser from LUSH I have not tried Herbalism or Aqua Marina), followed by a moisturizer. Most people will benefit from toning and moisturizing after using a cleanser. The purpose of a toner is to hydrate the skin, and the moisturizer works to lock that hydration in. This can vary depending on your individual needs, though!
