I only use conditioner on the bottom half of my hair, my hair is fairly long reaching my lower back. American Cream makes it smell amazing. Although the description says it smells like strawberries and citrus i don't really get those notes, but that is not a bad thing. I would describe its scent like something a gender neutral perfume/cologne would smell like. The conditioner is light, considering my hair type, it works well since i am prone to tangles and frizz. overall this conditioner's strong point is its scent! If you are still undecided i would get a sample before buying, that's how I was hooked.

I love this conditioner. My hair is super dry and chemically treated, and this conditioner leaves it super soft. Also, even though I have fine hair, it does not weigh my hair down.

The first time I used this I couldn't stop smelling my hair! I don't notice it as much now, but my hair still smells good and feels great. I have really thick, thirsty hair so this product doesn't last as long for me. After using it my hair feels soft, is manageable, shiny, and fragrant.

I absolutely love the smell of this conditioner!!! I keep getting whiffs of it throughout the day and it makes me smile. It is great for a daily conditioner but I still do my weekly treatments since its not extremely conditioning. It did not leave my hair all tangled like Jungle did. All in all a great product that smells good and does a great job conditioning. I will be repurchasing once I run out

Most conditioners weigh down my naturally wavy hair, which is frustrating because it also doesn't do the job it's meant to do. Ahem, condition! However, my friend gave this to me as a gift last Christmas and it's been a miracle product! For starters, my hair deceivingly thick and wavy and most conditioners weigh it down-something I really can't stand. Upon using American Cream, I was so surprised to wake up thinking that my hair felt damp (I air dry my hair) and realized that it was actually the conditioner doing its work! It was amazing because it also helped nurture my natural waves while making them soft and shiny. I really can't live without it now.
For those new to the product, it's a bit different upon application because it feels like it isn't "there", if you know what I mean. It kind of sinks in immediately and it's difficult to tell whether or not it's actually enough but you'll see the results after you get out of the shower! I recommend this for girls who need moisture in there hair because it isn't really a detangler (in my opinion).

Sometimes, I like that it's light enough for me to leave-in; however, it's also the reason I can't give it 5 stars. It needs more hold. It smells absolutely ah-ma-zing; I receive compliments all the time.

I don't know if it's because I got a small sample vial for free from the store (maybe it went bad?) but it smelled horrible! It smelled like smoke, pepper and plastic. I honestly can't say whether it improved my hair, made it shiny, etc because I shampooed and conditioned my hair twice after using it to get the smell out. Even after the multiple shampoos and conditioning, I can still smell it in my hair.

No matter what shampoo bar I use, American Cream's scent complements it beautifully! I cannot get over how great this smells and how long the scent lasts! I washed my hair on a Monday and was in a hot yoga class the next night and could STILL smell it perfectly on my hair(must have been the steam and heat working!!) -- if you don't have overly dry locks, this is a must-have product!

I partner AC up with Curly Wurly for an awesome hair treatment. I love the smell of AC, but I don't think it smells like strawberries and cream at all! It's very soothing and not deep deep conditioning, but it makes my hair frizz-free and ultra smooth. Perfect for all hair types.

I was always told this is a bestseller. In spite of preferring botanical scents, the lovely strawberry-vanilla smell of this conditioner is quite mild. All in all it is no better than your average conditioner, and we thick and curly hair people will not get much done in the way of detangling with it. Also I found myself adding more r&b and dirty hair styling gel after the shower because american cream failed to moisurize my hair like retread or jungle. Not for all hair types, it's an average conditioner.

This product was recommended to me by a Lush employee who dyes her hair a lot. I have extremely curly, frizzy hair and get my hair dyed/highlited at least twice a year, sometimes up to 6x/year. At first, I didn't really care for the smell, but it has grown on me and now I really like it after being almost through my first bottle. I really like how soft my hair is when it's dry and it feels healthy more often now than it ever has before. American Cream feels very thin when putting it in my hair, which was disturbing at first, and my hair doesn't "feel" conditioned after first rinsing it out- actually, it feels a lot like straw and is tangly. However, I've been so happy with how my hair feels (and smells) after drying that I've stuck with it, and yes, I would definitely buy this again. I'm considering trying Coolaulin next, to see which product I like best.

After using American Cream, my frizzy, dry hair feels soft and oh-so smooth! Some people rinse their conditioner off, but if you have thick, frizzy, wavy or curly hair, try this instead: after you rinse out your shampoo, take about a quarter sized amount of American Cream a massage it into your hair, starting with the ends. Then just leave it in! It doesn't leave a heavy residue, and my hair feels incredibly healthy after my daily shower routine.

While I love the scent, it can be very overpowering. If you've got a sensitive nose, be wary that the smell of American Cream will stick with you throughout the day.

I got this as a sample in my order so i'm glad i did not pay full price for it, not only did it stink, it did nothing for my hair. i don't smell anything close to strawberries as far as the description goes but what ever that nasty smell is lingers....forever!! As a matter of fact i never write reviews but this smelt so bad i felt the need to. not only did it smell, it does nothing and i had to use almost the entire sample just to cover my less then shoulder length hair and it was a large sample! so for the price that bottle would never last more then 2 weeks. my normaly silky hair was so dry and brittle and a tangled mess when it dried.

I like the idea of having vanilla-scented locks for the special guy who knows what my hair smells like. This conditioner is great - the scent lasts, so that I was reminded of it every time I took my hair down.

You also can get great value. A large bottle of this lasted me upwards of a year, and it's the only conditioner I used. I have fine hair, so I didn't use much, and I found that a very modest dollop was all I needed. One potential drawback is that if you use too much of it/don't rinse properly, the hair can be a bit greasy. I imagine this is because they use lanolin instead of scary petroleum-y stuff in the product.

It would take a fortune for me to use this product the way I'd need to in order to love it. I received a sample at the store as a recommendation for my hair type. This stuff smells great! My problem is it took all of the sample to even begin to coat and condition my locks like any of the other brands I use. I want to love this because it was the first LUSH product that didn't work out for me. If I had short hair, fine hair, or hair that was just more simple, I'd absolutely use this. I just need gobs to coat my hair, and by gobs I mean approximately two quarter drops or more. It just smells ah-ma-zing!!

This was my first Lush conditioner and i was way excited to see how it would improve my hair, i wanted soft locks of none fly away hair on my head that was voluminousness ( bought BIG with it) and smelled good. But thats not what i got for some reason American Cream just didnt do anything for my hair! And i was so sad because i wanted it to be great just like all the reviews i read but it did nothing for my hair..
Later i went to my local Lush store and asked what they would recommend for damaged hair and in the list they gave off was American Cream, now just baffled in why would they say it would improve my hair when i didnt see any vast improvements, i even used the whole thing to see if it had a later effect.. So later on that night i really wanted to see what they were talking about so i went to my nearly empty bottle and dug out whatever decided to cling to the sides, i started putting it in my DRY hair, concentrating on my ends and working my way up the length of my hair and then whatever i could scrounge up i put on my roots. Slept with it and washed it out in the morning, and my hair was marvelous! soft, shiny, healthy looking.. kinda made me sad that i had nothing left..

I have tried this and Veganese, and have to say that American Cream is much better for my hair. Veganese was way too light. This is still light, and doesnt leave my hair feeling silky right after I wash it out, like other conditioners do. But after I run a comb through it and blow dry it, it feels soft. The smell is also amazing, and it stays in my hair all day. Even after I use my moroccan oil, which has a really really heavy smell, American Cream still overpowers it. Bought the smallest bottle to try it, will definitely be buying the bigger one!!

I love this conditioner. It leaves my hair soft and shiny. However, in no way does it smell like strawberries. Not a hint or whiff. I use a quarter size dollop and don't go near my scalp or I get greasy more quickly. The lack of slipperiness you get from normal conditioners takes some getting used to, but my hair is really soft afterwards.
