I picked up this product at the lush store because when I smelled it I instantly fell in love with the strawberry vanilla fragrance !. My friend was with me when I purchased it and she smelled it and loved the smell also. She did not purchase one for herself because this product is not completely vegan. She ended getting something else.

First thing I have to say it was NOT the moisturizing enough. I like really thick conditioners so this just wasn't for me. But I have to say the smell lasted all day and into the next. I was amazed how long lasting.

I recieved a sample of this at Lush because I was wanting to try it from hearing good reviews on youtube and from hearing an employee tell me that it is a double strength conditioner so it should help hair.

After trying just the small sample size when rinsing it out my hair felt really soft and after letting it air dry my hair was EXTREMELY SHINY! Not to mention very soft to the touch and pretty moisturized.

I recomend it for all hair types but I have dry hair and it worked great! And you don't need to use that much

I only bought the small size of this product and now I'M really glad i didn't splurge for the big one.

This product has a very very overwhelming smell, that in my opinion does not really resemble Vanilla or Strawberries. It smells okay coming out of the bottle and going on to your head but after your hair dries it gets extremely strong. This scent also lasts for a very long time and it eventually started giving me a headache. In the end I had to rewash my hair.

The product itself was decent for the time I had it on but I really couldn't stand it long enough to really be sure.

If you're a fan of very strong scents this is for you but if you (like me) are looking for a lighter, fruiter smell look elsewhere.

For a reference point I would equate it to being like "Rockstar" but a bit stronger.

I used this product today for the first time after I used the Hair Doctor. I used it with Trichomania as well. This conditioner made my hair smell SOOO GOOD! I showered 2 hours ago and my hair still smells like a dream. It's so soft and shiny too! Love it!

I had just got to Lush and was pumped. I went straight to American Cream and bought it. Once I used it it was too light, but it smelt amazing. I got out and i couldnt remove any tangles. Now I mix it with anther conditioner and I love it. But its not for thick hair like mine. Only good thing about it for me is that I wash my hair every other day and the smell stays until I wash it again.

This conditioner is incredible! My hair is very thick and can be very oily. I have always had problems with conditioners leaving an oil residue and not actually conditioning my hair. I rub this in my ends and let it sit for a minute or two after using Big Shampoo and my hair is softer and shinier than ever before... besides the fact that the smell stays in my hair all day and it is WONDERFUL. I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH!

My hair is chemically lightened, very long, and wavy. I need a lot of conditioning, softening and defrizzing. This conditioner helped a lot with that in conjunction with Godiva. I think my hair could use even more conditioning though. This could be a good thing though because my hair stays light and grease free despite the fact I only like to wash it 2-3 times a week. To be honest, I'm not ready to make a commitment to American Cream. I think I will be trying some other lush products to find a better fit or perhaps I just need to add a good hair treatment as well. Keep in mind that different products meet different hair care needs. Just because a product doesn't work for your hair doesn't mean it won't work for your and vis versa.

As mentioned before in other reviews, I was not very happy to find out Lush's shampoo and conditioners have sulfates in them. Perhaps the sulfate controversy is just hype.

This conditioner is awesome and smells fantastic (I pair this with Fair Trade Honey Shampoo). It makes my hair soft and shiny without overconditioning. Its not as thick as other ones I've used, and at first seemed a bit light. After one use I realized I probably didn't need as much conditioning as I was using before. My thick hair has never looked better!

I'm used to commercial shampoos and conditioners, the kind that are loaded with sulfates and chemicals and while they do make my hair soft and shiny, I can help but feel like, somewhere down the line, I'm contributing to the testing on animals, or damaging the ecosystem. That being said, I wanted to try something a little friendlier. The associate at the store recommended American Cream. I like the smell, though it doesn't linger in my hair -- this is neither here nor there for me; it's not really a deal breaker. I didn't want to use a lot of it as it's not cheap, but even the small amount I did use, worked. My hair wasn't as untangled as it had been before, but I suspect that's because AC doesn't have all the same chemicals. Once I brushed it out and dried it, I can't stop touching it. It's smooth and soft and straight. I really do recommend it.

I didn't like this product at all. It was too thick, it made my hair feel sticky in the shower, and I couldn't get it to untangle. I'm disappointed, because I really wanted to like it. I think the only redeeming quality of this conditioner was the smell; it smelled so good, and lasted for days.

I've tried very hard to like this product because I absolutely love Lush. I've heard many people rave about this product so I decided to give it a go.
The product smells amazing in the bottle, but after I washed away the conditioner from my hair, I could hardly smell anything. It was a disappointment because I bought this product mainly because of it's smell as my anti-dandruff shampoo smells horrible (it smells like toothpaste).
Next the conditioner was not conditioning. I initially thought it was because my shampoo was extremely drying. Since I love Lush so much, I decided to change my shampoo to another conditioning shampoo(which has a nice subtle smell) instead of changing my conditioner. My hair continued to feel unconditioned and I have to say I was heart-broken. My old conditioner which was $5 for 200ml worked a lot better.
I cannot say you should not even think of buying this product because I have long thick, wavy-straight Indian hair. It may work on finer hair. Unfortunately for me, I would not be repurchasing this.

I have tried many conditioners - store-bought, salon-quality, and Lush -- and this is one of the first conditioners I've used where I really see results. I have long, thick, straight hair that I grow long and don't cut as often as I should. This conditioner made my hair so naturally soft and shiny, and the ends look good as new. I've tried Happy Happy Joy Joy, Big solid, and Veganese -- they all smelled fantastic but weren't intense enough to show results on my hair. This one makes my hair easy to brush out, soft, and smooth while still lending great volume and shape. My once-dull hair now gleams gorgeously in the sunlight. What's more, my scalp has never felt so great and stays oil-free.

BUT -- the smell. It is the oddest smell I've ever smelled. I don't get strawberries at all, or even much vanilla. Just something really strange. I can't even describe it. I think it's the lanolin. Even with these amazing results I pondered taking it back to the store the day after using because the smell was sticking to everything I owned. It really lasts on your hair after washing. But I will say that after my hair dries, it more closely resembles something a bit more normal and lightly sweet, the vanilla-sage scent described above. Still with a little bit of that weird undertone though. I wish Lush would make a conditioner exactly like this one with a different smell.

I will probably keep it despite the smell because no conditioner has ever made my hair this nice!

i love the smell of this stuff. it's definately not fruity which i was worried about, but more on the vanilla side. the scent lingers in my hair for a few days too, which is great. i normally use a pretty heavy and thick conditioner so i figured this one would be too light for my long and thick hair. i use this with fair trade honey shampoo and my hair is soft, bouncy, shiny and detangled, not to mention smells amazing. if you think you need something stronger, try this first and it may be all you need.

this in combination with daddy-o shampoo has given me the best hair of my life. i have an absolute ton of long, wavy, highlighted blonde hair, each strand is baby fine, but there's a ton - my hair is thick. after this combo my hair is super fluffy, extra-wavy, ridiculously shiny, soft and manageable and smells better than anything you can imagine! and, i don't need any styling products, it's pure gorgeousness! i can't recommend highly enough!

Ok so I have dry, long , thick hair and I love this. It gives me just enough moisture but not too much so it doesn't weigh my hair down. My hair is super soft and manageable with no frizz. I just love this. It smells amazing! I can barely smell the strawberry, but the vanilla comes on strong. My husband thinks it smells like root beer but I think it just smells like vanilla. The scent lasts on my hair for usually two days which I love. Normally conditioner scents never last on my hair. So I pretty much love this and will always buy this. Thank you lush!

I love American Cream, but use it more as a "leave-on" conditioner. I wash my long hair every other day or 2, and on those days I refresh my hair by combing a touch of this mixed with water. I feel that this formula is a little too thin to work effectively if it's all rinsed out, plus I love the scent to linger on. I was surprised that this method worked well for smoothing for my "average", slightly wavey blond highlighted hair... without a goopy build-up. Please Lush, if you are listening, might I suggest you further develop this scent into a spray on light conditioner?
