I just bought this bar about two weeks ago, and I am simply in love with it. I have not a single bad thing to say about it, and I use it almost daily. I have had Keratosis Pilaris--a skin condition that give me dry, bumpy, red skin-- on my upper arms for as long as I can remember. I've used every cream on the market including going to the dermatologist, and nothing has ever worked.

I can tell you right now that my skin has NEVER looked better. While there is no cure for my condition, it can be treated and symptoms reduced by extreme moisturizing. I use the bar in the shower (I would suggest buying the larger bar, you get more bang for your buck and the grip-ability is much better) and gently use it to exfoliate my upper arms, then rinse.

There is a layer of moisturizer left behind which you can feel. It is not heavy and not greasy. You can almost see results instantly. I would suggest this for anyone who has a sensitive skin condition where dryness and redness occurs, or just for someone who wants to get their skin silky smooth again. I would highly suggest using this in the shower to avoid any mess the almond grit can leave behind. The Body Butter Tin works well in keeping it out of the water when not in use.

I have searched and spent so much money trying to find a product that would help with my dry skin. This item worked IMMEDIATELY! The smell is NOT terrible, could be better, but definetely not bad. My only problem with this product is that it does not last long and absorbs quickly in the water. I do find it a little bit pricey due to that, but not enough so to stop me from purchasing it! I would definetly suggest giving this soap a try, you won't be sorry.

I had red bumps on my skin from harsh weather, this oriental scented body butter cleared them right up. My only regret is that it doesn't last longer!

I have tried out the buffy, you snap the whip and aqua mirabilis and aqua mirabilis is my fav. It's not too greasy but deffinitely long lasting. The smell is subtle but addicting. I also love the almond scrubs. Buffy is too greasy for my taste and you snap the whip is not moistuirizing enough. This is my "just right" product.

I cannot say enough about this body butter/buffer bar. I'm something of a Lushaholic, it's kind of a problem. Ever since day one of using aqua mirabilis I have been hooked. I always have 4 bars in a stockpile, as I go through about one every 2 weeks. I use it everyday, but sparingly. I never let it get wet in the bath or in the shower. I just rub it onto my already wet skin here and there and then spread it around. I've never had to cut it into chunks and I feel it's a good value for the amount of use I get out of it. Buffy may moisturize a teeny bit better (ok, quite a bit better) BUT I cannot live without the smell of aqua mirabilis and I just adore the ground up almond shells for exfoliation. Oh, and the smell lingers. Perfection!

After using this product, I understand how my parents felt when they used to stare at my lackluster report card and tell me how much *potential* I had.

I want to fall hopelessly in love with this product. And, like any relationship, I think we're both at fault for why it's not working out.

It mouisturizes like nothing I have used, and the exfoliation is gentle yet effective. Perfect for sensitive types like me. And I used this in the bath, which turned wonderfully milky.

The downside is how much of it melted the one time I used it. Had I known, I would not have taken it in the bath with me.

I will still buy this product, but I might try some of the other ones out first. And I'll definitely try the suggestion of cutting it up.

An excellent moisturizer- great scent, time-saving, package-saving. Love the stuff. Buffy seems to be a heavier version of this, maybe for drier skins, but I prefer this one.

the best of moisturization and exfoliation!

this bar is (i think) beneficial for all skin types. it does lightly exfoliate without being too rough while also moisturizing. though many complain about the smell, i LOVE it. it smells like almound butter. i use it while in the shower, i step out of the stream and let the bar work it's magic.

summary: if you want to try out a body butter, this is the one! it will show you both "buffy"'s scrubby abilities and "king of skin"'s creamy hydration abilities.

oh! and can i just say that the people that work here are some of the nicest, most helpful people i have ever met!

*** CUT UP YOUR BODY BUTTER INTO PIECES ***
I've been reading that A LOT of people say this product doesn't last very long in the shower- just a couple of uses before it's gone. Cut this up into smaller pieces. You really only need a tiny amount for your body. It'll last so much longer and you'll most definitely get your money's worth :)
I use Aqua Mirabilis every other day when I need a cleansing boost. I use a loofah in the shower anyways so I get plenty of exfoliation.

Hmmm. I have a lot to say about this body butter. I must admit, I like many of it's qualities; it softens and exfoliates my skin, it goes on smoothly, and it sinks in fast. Sounds good, right? Wrong. I hate to hate on LUSH, but the smell of this is awful to me! I have read some other reviews, and some people seem to like it, but to me, it smells like a strange kind of...peanut butter? It is hard to describe. Although it technically works well, I wouldn't buy it again, just because of the scent! Also, buyers beware, it smells far less strong in the store, dry, than it does after application. If you are hesitant about the scent when dry, I would not recommend this product.

My first body butter was Buffy, which I love but find too greasy to use all the time. I was looking for a scrubby alternative with good exfoliation, and Aqua Mirabilis is great! It smells almond-y, is gentle and effective, and leaves no oiliness behind. It is neither overly moisturizing nor drying, but adds a nice softness to skin. I love Sandstone soap, and I like alternating between that and Aqua. The only downside is it dissolves much more quickly than Buffy. The bar for Aqua Mirabilis does not come in a bigger size, and only seems to last for about a week's worth of showers (although I only use mine once every few days to prolong its life). It's a good idea to keep this bar out of direct water hits, I've found that this makes it last much longer. If this came in a bigger size, I'd be thrilled!

I love Buffy but found it to be too heavy in the summer. A sales associate recommended Aqua Mirabilis, and I've been hooked since. First of all, I think it smells great - better than Buffy, even. Second, it really helped my "chicken skin", sometimes that I didn't even really know I had until I read other Lush reviewers say the same thing. My skin is ultra-soft and it lasts, too - several days! It's not as exfoliating as Buffy and it is a lighter moisturizer, but it's the perfect Summer match for Winter Buffy! I only use it on my arms, legs, and behind. I wet my skin and the bar, but then step out of the shower stream. Sometimes I need to re-wet my skin or the bar but that's just how it goes. I run the bar over my skin, but then put it away and rub in the mositurizer/exfoliation bits into my skin with my hands - benefit: hands aren't dry after getting out of the shower! Try it!!

I love aqua mirabilis! But the only downside is that if you leave it in your shower, in the body butter tin--it gets moldy!! So I checked with a store associate who told me to treat it like you would a baby... Gently pat it dry after use and keep it out of heat (aka don't leave it in the shower). So that kind of stinks for someone who's lazy (aka me), but I love the product so much I'm willing to take those extra steps :)

I use this in the shower, on my legs before shaving and under my arms to get rid of the darkness that sometimes seems to be there, also on my arms and shoulders. It smells pretty good, but not too strong.

I bought this on my first trip to a Lush store, and I adore it! It's just the right balance of exfoliating scrub and a gentle moisturizer that both dealt with the dry, bumpy skin on my upper arms and was gentle enough for the rest of my often sensitive skin. As someone who frequently can't moisturize ENOUGH to get rid of dry, itchy skin, Aqua Mirabilis was perfect; I could use it in the shower each morning and not feel the desperate need to slather on lotion before lunch. It's convenient, and didn't add much time to my shower to use it. It *did* seem to melt rather quickly, but I got a month's use out of it easily even with fairly generous applications, so I have every intent of buying another, especially as it gets closer to winter.
