I got this as a sample because I was skeptical about solid conditioner. It took a while for me to work up to using it and the first time, I didn't use it properly so I didn't like it. But I still had a good amount left so when I made my next trip to my local Lush, I asked the saleswoman what the best method was for use. And it's a little bit of a process - really working and melting the product with a little water until you have a better consistency - but it's SO WORTH IT. Second time around, I'm in love with this product. I'm going to get more asap. The scent is amazing and the sea salt gives my hair such beautiful body and shine. It's also wicked soft. It isn't too heavy, and doesn't do a wonderful job at detangling. I advise you brushing your hair with your regular brush and/or a wide-tooth comb before you shower and taking care to comb gently after getting out. It gets out a few kinks, but if you're matted, you won't be happy.

All in all, 4 stars, because it is a bit hard to use. But it is SO worth it.

I got this as a sample with another order and decided to try it out. Definitely no regrets. I have pin straight hair that won't hold a single curl, but with this conditioner, it became voluminous and bouncy. I like to leave it in for a few minutes while I shower and let my hair air dry. This stuff smells great and has improved the overall texture and life of my hair. Absolutely great. The only bad thing is you should rinse twice, if you don't rinse thoroughly it can leave a little bit of residue, but that's a user error, the product is wonderful.

I just switched to solid shampoo and conditioner this week. while the shampoo bar has been a no brainer, this not so much. I have oily hair so I only condition from about ear level down, but getting enough of this product at the right consistency to do that has been rather tricky. However! This smells absolutely amazing and what I have been able to get on my hair returns it from the tangly feeling the shampoo bar leaves it to actually feeling like hair again. So I don't mind having to wear pony tails till I get this thing figured out!

When I first picked up BIG Solid Conditioner, it smelled amazing. The smell kinda reminds me of American Cream, or some vanilla-y/soft scent. (Even though it's actually sea salt and coconut.)This was just one of the conditioners I picked out of random.

I was in desperate need of a conditioner since my hair is dyed and processed and heated. At first, it didn't do much for me but then I gave it another shot. I just took the whole bar and slid it through wet hair, just enough so you could feel it. After I rinsed, it gave that silky feel through the water. After I dried and straightened my hair (since it's naturally wavy), my hair was extremely soft and shiny. It did feel a bit greasy though, and the bar easily melts, but overall, it's my favorite conditioner!
However the reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's not TOO amazing to the point where it's overwhelmingly great.

I didn't like it the first time I used it. But then I only used it from the ear down, and it was perfect. Just get it warm, rub it in your hands, and run your fingers through your hair, then rub it in and leave it on for a bit. It is really light, so don't expect it to detangle a huge mess. This solid conditioner is really soft, so it's best if you cut off a chunk and not get the whole thing wet. Even though it has salt in it, it doen't dry out my hair.

I also LOVE to use it as a body conditioner! I love Ro's Argan, but it's a little heavy for every day use. So this is perfect!

I was really excited to use this product, but I was very disappointed that it did nothing it claims to do. It's really soft which makes it hard to apply and leaves a residue and random clumps in my hair. I do like the smell a lot,but other than that I would not buy it again or recommend it. Not a good product from Lush at all and I love all of their things.

I had been using the Jungle Conditioner, which I liked, but found the scent a bit overwhelming. This one is perfect. It smells very nice and leaves my hair soft. I have color treated hair and I have not noticed any impact on my color with this product. Also, it volumizes my very fine hair. I am not currently using any styling products and I let my hair air dry and this product seems to be perfect for that leaving my hair with really nice beachy waves. Just as a tip for first time users of solid shampoos and conditioners, for me the conditioner only lasts about half as long as the shampoo so I buy double the amount of conditioner.

So, I probably should have held off on reviewing this product- my hair's not even completely dry! I was a little concerned with the reviews that it wouldn't detangle well enough. I have lots of very long, fine, wavy hair that likes to simultaneously frizz and look limp when not taken proper care of. I got in the shower with hair so tangly, it was practically matted. I used my Godiva shampoo and followed with the Big Conditioner, which I left in while I used my body wash and shaved. I couldn't quite run my fingers through my hair prior to rinsing it out and my hair didn't feel as squeaky as I usually like.

BUT! After rinsing, I was able to comb my hair easily and, as my hair began to dry, the waves have shaped beautifully. It's smooth and still has body. It feels silky, looks shiny, and still has texture. Plus it smells delicious. It seems too good to be true... Hopefully, I'm not jumping the gun on my new romance.

So, when I first put the product in,I was actually kind of disappointed... I did the whole, break off a little piece, and when i got it in my hair it didnt feel like there was anything there. Now, I have really thick medium length hair but I also color it a lot and have bleached parts of it multiple times, so its dry and tangled and just needs a lot of conditioning, but i just figured if i need to condition my hair more when it dries I can. So after I rinsed everything out i did use a little bit of the R&B hair moisturizer in the ends, but i really dont think I needed it. When my hair dried it was soft and not tangled and even my rough over processed ends felt amazing, and it smells good. I also like the fact that it is solid, because i travel a lot. And something with the solid that i noticed some people didnt like was that you cant fit it in a tin, but if you are buying it in the shop (or you can do this at home by yourself) is to ask the attendant to cut it in half and then you can fit it in a massage bar container perfectly. any way, I love the conditioner, it's amazing, buy it.

I got this as a sample a couple of times, the first time I tried it I hated it, I thought it was too hard to use and ended up throwing it away. Then I got it a second time, and decided to give it another try. Soo glad I did! It's super light, you might not think anything is on your hair. I find the best way for me to use it is to turn the water on a little hot, get my hands wet and roll the bar around in my hands and get the conditioner on my hands, and run it through my hair. Also pinching off a bit and smooshing it in my hands to make a kinda paste [similar to the cleansers] works good for the ends if you have dry ends.

I hope this makes sense, lol. If your not sure, get a sample! It's actually really good!

I have fine, straight hair, and I'm not brand loyal about many things, but I can't live without my BIG shampoo. Well, last time I stopped in the store to buy it, they told me about the new conditioner, and I got a sample to try. The first time I used it, I wasn't too sure about it, but now that I've figured out the tricks to make it work well for my hair, I LOVE it! I've been using it for a month now, and it still works great. (I've been tricked too often before by a product that worked great for a few days but then started weighing my hair down.) Looks like I'll have one more item to be brand loyal to. :)

Here are my suggestions:

1. Rub it all over your hands and then work through your hair with your hands. I found this easier than rubbing the bar on directly.
2. Let it sit for a few minutes while you do other things in the shower.

I should note that I do use a spray-in heat protectant afterwards, and that adds some detangling power, b/c this doesn't perfectly detangle my hair. But I LOVE the way my hair feels using this combo of products - I haven't been this happy with my hair in a long time. It is soft and has lots of movement and I can run my fingers through it with ease. It's hard to find a conditioner that doesn't over condition my hair, but skipping conditioner altogether leaves me with tangled, unmanageable hair. BIG conditioner does the trick!

I only gave it 4 stars simply b/c of the lack of total detangling and because I don't love applying it. It takes longer to put on my hands than a liquid, and it takes a bit more effort to distribute it through my hair. But it's worth it for the final effect!

I don't shampoo my hair everyday, but when I do shampoo, I make sure BIG conditioner is with me.

I suffer from awful dandruff and dry scalp, and
by dry scalp I mean itching until my head bleeds.

This product is a God-send to me because it helped my scalp TREMENDOUSLY when nothing else would work.

A must have from anyone who suffers like I do!

Not sure about this one. I want to love it just as I love most of Lush products, but... Smell is awesome. The process of application - not so much. I have shoulder-long, relatively straight hair, that does not tangles. I expected Big Solid will apply as easily as solid shampoos do, but I kept rubbing and rubbing my hair with it, but it never felt that I have anything in my hair. I quit trying after a while, and just left my hair with whatever I got on, for 5 minutes or so. Then I rinsed. My hair felt very, very dry, coarse and tangly. Like it never felt before. I was afraid that I will not be able to brush it when blow-drying, and I sprayed 2-3 times with my bamboo oil spray. Well, my hair WAS hard to brush through, but I managed to get through it pretty quick. Drying time though was probably 3 times shorter than always! And in the end my hair was ok. Not its shiniest, but with some extra volume, and without extra frizz.
Bottom line - I will not buy it again. Taken how much the product melted, it will be pretty pricey. And I definitely do not recommend it for long hair.

I love LUSH and sad to say this is the first product that I have not liked. In fact I hate it. I apply it to my hair directly - rubbing the bar from root to tip as recommended by one of the store employees. It doesn't feel that great going on as its hard to truly coat all the air, after rinsing my hair (and then re-rinsing to remove all the little chunks that get left behind) my hair feels tangly (which it never has with any other conditioner). Once dried (I let my hair air dry naturally) my hair looks dull, feels incredibly dry and tangles very easily. I feel like split ends have increased exponentially in the few weeks that I have been using this product. Unfortunately, in my enthusiasm to give this product a try I got a large chunk so kept trying it to see if things improved. Alas not. I would never by this product again and will stick to LUSHs liquid conditioners in the future. Its a shape as like the concept and have got on well with the shampoo bars.

I was looking forward to this, but a bit cautious due to reviews.

First, the scent. I want to roll around in it, bathe in it; I really wish this scent came in some kind of perfume because I love it so much. It's like Big had a baby with Silky Underwear. I can't smell any one thing over the other--the vanilla, lemon, coconut and jasmine all blend together wonderfully into one delicious scent.

Using it was a bit suspenseful, however. It was easy to just coat my hands in it and use it like a liquid conditioner, but I never felt like I had it in my hair even though I could see it in there. It actually felt dry and tangled while it was in my hair, and seemed to do little, if anything, after I rinsed it.

And then my hair dried. And it was amazing. I guess I'm used to heavy conditioners. My hair felt lighter and dried much faster than usual, and it looks very healthy. I couldn't stop smelling it all day.

This product is NOT for women with big/coarse/kinky/very curly/frizzy hair. This is because it has salt in it which is VERY drying. Most women with curly hair have thick and dry hair which needs a lot of moisture, but fine haired people do not.

Okay, so...I have curly/wavy hair and I have a lot of it, but it is very fine! My problem is most products over do it on the moisturizing, which leaves me beautiful curls on the bottom, but flat almost greasy looking hair on top.

Now, I use Curly Wurly beforehand and that shampoo is so wonderful I get my detangling done with that product and then apply this to my roots and ends. I get super soft and fluffy hair without being frizzy and it's moisturized without being limp. Mind you I use a leave-in, a gel, and a mousse, BUT my hair has never felt so amazing. This is a great product if you are looking for volume for fine hair and works very well on curly hair IF you use a very moisturizing shampoo.

I made the switch to Lush hair products, and was pretty iffy about a bar of conditioner. But after the first use, I was hooked. I have fine, thin hair (sigh) and thought that if I was going to use conditioner, I was going to have flat hair after a few hours. This bar proved me wrong! A couple of swipes (just fyi, your hair will not feel all coated and slimy like with liquid conditioner)and a good rinse and my hair was soft, shiny and full. I was amazed! The body lasted to my next shampoo, and my hair is just as soft as with liquid conditioner. I love this product, and will buy it for as long as Lush makes it!

When I got the package I was skeptical at first. The bar seemed small for what I paid and I was worried that it would not do much of anything or last very long in the shower. Well, I cut a small square off and took it into the shower, determined to try it and hopeful I would like it. Despite this hope, I still did not believe it would compare to the "real" conditioners I was used to slathering on obscenely.
Oh. My. Goodness. I fell in love after one use! The small slither I cut off has lasted quite some time and a few swipes over my hair is all I need for smooth, silky, bouncy hair! Never in all my years of conditioner drenching have I had such easily manageable and soft hair. This conditioner has made me a real convert to Lush items and has made me throw out every bottle of conditioner I own. I am dedicated to Big Conditioner and love how it makes my hair feel and look. It adds beautiful body and sine which garners me so man compliments, and as someone with fine hair... body and volume is a blessing. This conditioner is truly a misleading miracle. You are skeptical at first and then one use has you worshiping at the Lush alter!

I think this is a great product. I will still take it with me when I travel, however I have really long fine hair and it just doesnt help detangle my hair the way other conditioners do. If my hair were shorter or did not tangle SO easily then this product would be great! Just rubbing the bar on the hair leaves more condition on your hair than you think, breaking it into clumps does not work that well, the wholel clump ends up stuck in your hair.
