I've had Black Stockings for about a week, and now think it's a summer must have! I did order it online, and was dissapointed to see it had melted in the shipping process. I was worried about that happening considering it is summer and has been very hot. But, although it might not be the perfect shape afterward, it can be popped in the refrigerator to fix that. I'm naturally fairly pale but use self tanning to keep a glow during summer. This product suits my skin-tone perfectly and adds that extra tint and glow I love to have. It does smell like black licorice right off the bat, but does (to me) take on a more pleasent sent once on the skin. For me the smell is not a problem, in fact I kind of like it, but for some it could be off-putting. Overall, I really like this product and think it definetly adds that extra tint and glow everyone desires during those summer months!

I recently fell in love with LUSH, and was anxious to find a bronzer f!or the summer. Most bronzers are too light and leaves my skin looking very ashy. This product is OUTSTANDING! It leaves my skin with a lovely bronze glow that is to die for. I use this on my legs, arms and chest. Love, love, love this product

I rub a little of this on the front of my legs and rub it in and my legs look like they have seen sunlight! This is fabulous! I don't need a lot because when you first put some on you look a little orange until you rub it in. Since I use so little the change is just enough. It looks like my legs are sunkissed and not the glowing white they usually are.

Make me feel more confident when showing off my legs or any area that is in need of a little color. My skin also feels great and it smells lovely. Definitely okay for us pale folks! An item I don't plan on every being without.

I didn't like this product and i hate giving negative reviews for lush but this for me wasn't good. I put it on after my shower like others recommend so it doesnt streek. BUT you have to put it on fast so your legs are still pretty soaked. On top of that after I put it on and i looked at it in natural light i looked sunburned!!!
So I scrubbed it off in the shower which was nice that it came off so easily. After my first bad product from lush i was pretty down UNTILLLL! I rubbed my legs, wow where they smooth!!! I can't stop rubbing them.
So for over all, if you are going to try this make sure your legs are decently wet, do check the look in natural light, and if you don't like it at lest your legs will be soft :)

I stroke the bar downwards on freshly shaven legs, and it looks funny at first but it actually rubs in very evenly with swirled/circle motions of the hands. It also moisturizes very well, my boyfriend even commented on how soft my legs felt! it gives a pretty, but not over-the-top, sparkly shimmer. As with any self tanner, make sure you rub it in all the way and don't leave dark spots, and WASH YOUR HANDS or it will get everywhere. It won't make those lines on your legs and won't rub off if you cross your legs or start to sweat, which I did both last night when I used it. I have light Olive colored skin and it compliments my skin tone perfectly. I have off white sheets and it didn't rub off on them once I went to bed last night! I haven't tried putting it on my arms though, I don't imagine that it would look okay since it would be harder to do that swirling/circle massage motion with both hands.

this is the first thing i ever got at lush and it was kind of a leap because usually i read up reviews of things before i buy them. I WAS SO HAPPY WITH THIS. i'm a dark skinned black girl so when someone says bronzer i'm like "obviously that will look stupid on me" but it looks amazing! i look glowy but not like i put anything on my skin. i love it so much but i had to throw my last one away because i left it near the window and it basically melted but that's my own fault will be getting another one this week.

I LOVE LOVE this product! My skin is a lighter tone and this body tint gives me just the right amount of subtle warmth to my skin. It's very creamy once it starts to heat up and smoothes into your skin so easily, I use it alllll the time on my arms, neck and even my face underneath my makeup.

This product is amazing IF used correctly. I first bought this product with hopes of giving my peaches and cream with slight yellowish undertone skin, a nice glow. I found it hard to get the product into my skin when used on just dry skin during the day. It left it streaky as most people have complained and how it never soaked into the skin. I decided to try it after my shower as a moisturizing lotion bar and applied it to wet skin. It left it with a nice glow and the water still on my skin helped it spread without streakyness. It works perfectly on my pale skin so I would b skeptical if it worked on darker skin tones. The bar is wonderfully moisturizing but i wouldnt suggest it for oily skin. It also lasts loads longer when applied after a shower. I would have rated it five stars if it would work for me not just out of the shower.

Works great to get a quick glowy tan but it doesn't last very long. It has just the right amount of shimmer but smells like black liqorish. It is one of my summer must haves.

I just picked up this product on a whim looking for a good self-bronzer before a wedding. LOVE it. It gives a gorgeous sparkly glow on ivory skin if you rub it in well. I personally love the cinnamony warm smell. The ONLY downfall is: rub it in well and wait for it to dry or you will find it on your clothes! All in all, best instant bronzer I've found!

This is an amazing product. My legs don't get as much sun as the rest of my body and this product has replaced the need to go tanning. Whenever I wear anything that reveals my legs, I use this product and blend it from the thighs down. It makes it look like you have perfectly even tanned legs!! I get compliments on how tan my legs look every time I use this. The only down side to this product is the smell. It would be okay if it was more subtle, but the smell reminds me of soup or something. I always spray perfume on top to try to mask the smell.

I was so doubtful, even after sampling it on my arm in the store. I was also intrigued and decided I had to have it after I was inspired to utilize this as a blush and lip stain. I was so glad when I tried it out on my cheeks, lips, and legs. My cheeks and lips had a beautiful flush and my legs matched the part of my arms that had seen some sun. I have an olive complexion and this looks so natural on my skin. I was spending $30 on blush and I can't believe what a bargain this is at [$]. One tip for the legs: melt it in your hands and then apply using what melted in your hands. Rubbing the actual bar on the skin makes it harder to blend and can look streaky.

This is, hands down, one of the best products from Lush! I shower and moisturize and then I rub the bar in vertical lines from my ankle to my knee and blend it all in! I also use it to bring out the best of my spray tan and when my tan starts to fade I use it to maintain it till I can get sprayed again.I'm olive skinned asian so it just adds a nice touch of color and a beautiful glow! So easy to apply and you don't have to worry about it being streaky and you can wash it off the same day!The only complaint I have is that it rubs off easily on clothing, chairs, etc. And when I apply it I can't help but feel I'm wasting a bit of it because it rubs off on my hands..but for [$] you can't beat it and I feel like I def get my money's worth!

I really love Black Stockings! I have very, very fair skin with pink tones (I am the palest person I have ever met, I love doing the arm test with other light skinned people out there and I always win!) but this product works great for me. I love using it on my legs, which are even lighter than the rest of me since they don't see the sun as much, and it really helps even out my skin tone and give a little opacity. The key is to blend blend blend! On the knees and ankles I also added a little light moisturizer to help keep the tone even.

I was skeptical when the sales ladies wanted me to take Black Stockings instead of Silk Stockings, considering my skin is so fair - especially my legs. I have olive undertones in my skin, but I am also very fair. I'd have thought Black Stockings was way too dark, but they insisted otherwise - and man were they right!!!!! I LOVE this product! I immediately went back the next day and bought another 2 and a tin to store them! :)

Ladies, use this as your moisturizer. It will absorb well on warm skin after a shower. And don't be afraid of the color. When rubbed in, it looks AMAZING. Beautiful, summer glow all year long.

My only wish is that it was unscented. The cinnamon just doesn't go well with the other scented products I use from Lush. But I still give it five stars because now I can't live without it!!!! :)

This is an excellent, long-lasting, beautifully spice-scented bronzer.I find that careful blending adds a natural, warm glow to my fair skin. Great for travel in cooler environments: keep it either in a Lush tin or ziploc bag, and don't let it melt! You can apply it directly onto your skin or rub it into your hands and mix with a bit of moisturizer before slathering it onto arms, legs, torso, and decollete. The product feels warm and sensual, probably due to the cinnamon in it. Works well for me.

I bought this and Silk Stockings a few months back and I am not so sure about it. I loved the idea of having something to tint my pale legs besides nylons and fake tanner but both really left me underwhelmed. It was difficult to apply this product and I found I had to rub it in with hands to avoid streaks. When I was done I found that more of it was on my hands than my legs. The second time I tried it, I exfoliated first, wondering if the same skin-tint principles applied. Again, about 90 percent of it was on my hands not my legs. I am hesitant to try again. I would love for LUSH to post a tutorial video for this not just someone talking about why they love it.

I am one that likes a very tan look all year around - so this is perfect for me ! ! !

I use this on my decollete and arms and it gives a beautiful shimmery bronze color. Will be using on my legs soon too.

If you like to have a bronze glow . . then try this solid tint for darker skin.
