OH WOW.
I went into a Lush store to choose a "perfume" for my boyfriend's Christmas present. After sniffing my wrists for a whole day, trying to decide between Breath of God and the Smell of Freedom, I realized that there was no contest. B.O.G. just smells like him, earthy yet enlightened...and manly, but not the bro-type.
I bought him the Waylander Rhassoul soap a while ago, and he was really drawn to the subtle, Earthy scent. This stuff smells like that, but with a little extra incense-like spiciness. He loves it, and I'm a little bit addicted to it as well, that is, I spend most of my time burying my face in his sweater to smell the stuff. Make sure you go into the store to try it first, because it's very unique, but don't be afraid to put it on your skin. It changes gradually over time, and it's nice to experience its reaction to your skin.

TRY THIS SCENT! It's like nothing I've ever smelled before. Gorgeous.

BoG is one of my favorite fragrances. It is such a beautiful work of art. It is the most complex scent that I have ever encountered--a kinetic blend of fruit, dry leaves, earth, and woods. I wear BoG when I am in a contemplative mood and want something interesting to smell that makes me think. Not the easiest scent to pull off, but one that deserves admiration and appreciation.

I walked into the Lush in Herald Square yesterday after work with the intention of picking up Lust (I'm Flying Fox obsessed), but after sniffing the samples in the midst of the insane pre-Christmas mob, I found myself curious about Breath of God (love the name, btw). I spritzed my wrist once and skeedattled, since I was not about to stand in line for 40 minutes. I will order online. Wearing the scent for the rest of the night, I noticed that the first sharp citrus and woodsy notes started to soften, then a definite bonfire/smoke scent dominated, then a much softer musky woodsy floral prevaled for the balance of the night. After about 5 hours I didn't notice the scent too strongly, but then I was in an enviroment with a lot of other strong smells. I will absolutely be ordering this. My new husband loved it, and I think it's an equally enticing scent for a man to wear.

I have the solid Breath of God, and the fragrance is simply incredible!!! I really notice the vetivert and the melon when it is on my skin, but the fragrance is very complex. I always get compliments when I wear this perfume. I give this 4 stars instead of 5 because the fragrance does not last very long. It fades after about 3 hours.

The first whiff of this fragrance is extremely medicinal. My mother and sister-in-law both said it smelled like an old lady. So you smell it again because it is multi-layered and there is that deep spice and woodsy,natural smell that is Lush. The intensity does wear down but will last. You will find yourself holding your wrist up to your nose every 10 minutes as you close your eyes tell yourself how much you love it.

Everyone I know was encouraged to try either the spray or solid form of this scent. It is different on everyone! And so rich, so deep in memory stimulating fragrance. I use it before meditating because it does remind me of temples. I feel closer to God when I wear it. And, I feel excitingly unique.

Normally I wear Lust or Imogen Rose but the other day I was poking around Lush and decided to give Breath of God a try since I love switching things up with more masculine scents. It can be a bit harsh when first applied but it will smooth out after about fifteen minutes (for me anyway.) It's a lovely woodsy scent with brighter floral and citrus notes hovering above it.

The scent reminds me of that topical Novocaine you get at the dentist office and then it wears off to something extremely heady and woody. Not for me.

After reading the description and some of the reviews, I really wanted to like this scent. It went on with a quick flash of citrus and then settled into a tangy soapy scent (JUST like Irish Spring - the green soap - I kid you not) until it faded, which occurred sooner for me than other LUSH scents.

So if you like Irish Spring soap or maybe have a more refined nose than I do, feel free to try this scent, but be warned it's pretty green/woodsy/soapy. Maybe it was just too complex for me with all the inhaling/exhaling scents.

When I first put on this perfume I expected a good smell right away and this wish was not granted. However I did remember that a lot of the reviews for several perfumes said to let it sit for a minute and by the time I got to work I would make excuses to pass my wrist by my nose. And by the end of the day smell seemed to change completely and I was still pleased with it.

This is truly the most unique fragrance I have ever worn. Very strong and almost strange at first, but continually evolving into a deeper, more supple, more personalized scent throughout the day...it reminds me of my own spiritual evolution...a surprising, expansive, unceasingly complicated and joyous journey- thank you for making this scent- it is both beautiful and unorthodox. it makes me feel as though i am meditating all day...

i LOVE breath of god. it smells a little bit different on everyone. i wasnt sure about it at first as it smells quite smoky on my when i first put it on, but after a few minutes it turns into a lovely cinnamon scent, (even though theres no cinnamon in it!)

The scent is almost indescribable. When you first put it on, it truly smells like the cleanest air you've ever inhaled. Then as it warms on your skin, the earthy, musky scents come out. It is my favorite perfume! Whenever I wear Breath of God, I receive compliments. Some perfumes are so strong they can give you a headache, but definitely not LUSH scents. They are the best!

I was attracted to this smell right away, but it took a few encounters and I had to wear it a couple of times before I felt myself falling in love. Now I adore it so much that I wear it every day. I even keep a solid nearby just for the enjoyment of it. It's uplifting, calming and imparts a sense of deep peace. I can't describe its many powers. Suffice it to say that this scent is perfectly named!

I love this scent so much that I bought two 1-ounce bottles, a travel spray and the solid! Glad the rest of the world can now appreciate this after BNTBTBB is no longer.

Green, leathery, musky, and woody. I feel powerful, confident and sexy when I wear this! After the first overbearing blast for the first 10 minutes, it goes quiet rather too quickly for my taste, but the end is the best part of the scent.

Please do not ever take these off your shelves!

When I first arrived at LUSH, the sales associate was amazingly helpful. I have been looking for a new fragrance and wanted something that was ethical and not a common scent found at a million cosmetic counters. When she first sprayed this on me, I HATED it. It smelled like moldy cardboard, and could not wait to get it off me. However, I continued shopping and after 15+ compliments about the fragrance, I thought maybe I should reevaluate it.

I smelled my wrist and was completely surprised to find out that it smelled amazing. It is slightly spicy, and perhaps even masculine but it makes me want to keep smelling myself. It is still a bit much when first put on but it lasts almost forever and the smell dies in way that allows one to experience the different elements that comprise the top, middle, and finishing notes. Simply divine.

I put one spray on my hair, and one on my wrists (which I rub together and on my neck). That's all. My husband rest his head on my shoulder and SMELLS me. He says that I smell like "sexy heaven."

I cannot say that I like the initial spray anymore than the first time but the rest of the day and evening are totally worth it. I wear it every day and I still sniff my wrist about a hundred times a day. I now know that when I drive 5 hours to get my LUSH fix, I will be including this among my must-haves!
