Let me start off by saying, I am 24 years old, African American, female and I have battled Eczema my entire life. My skin is extremely dry and I would have to put on lotion about 4 to 5 times/day only to have what is considered "normal skin". I've gone to countless doctors, who have prescribed regimens consisting of steroid creams, putting moisturizers on while wrapping my legs up with plastic wrap overnight, oatmeal baths...etc. I've done it all NOTHING worked. A friend told me to try the Buffy bar, I was skeptical because to me nothing else was left to try. So, the Lush clerk did an in-store demonstration. Instantly!, Instantly! (No, I don't think you understand...after 24 years of trying different products...INSTANTLY!) my skin was soft. I am completely Amazed at how my skin has completely transformed over the past 3 weeks of using the Buffy bar. I now only have to apply lotion once a day and I am no longer ashamed/embarrassed of my skin. The Buffy bar has crushed almonds in it, it can be a bit rough on the skin, however, it doesn't bother me. I bought my mother the same bar, the course nature of the bar is to much for her so she uses the King of skin body butter. Which is basically, the Buffy bar without the roughness and chopped exfoliation pieces, just pure moisturizer for the skin. The smell is similar to the smell of pure Shea butter (not the best in the world, however, I don't mind because it moisturizes my skin, the smell is the least of my worries. I just put on some perfume or body spray after I shower). Rarely, do I write reviews unless it's a product I truly believe in. So, I just want to Thank YOU LUSH...for giving me Hope because I am extremely self-conscious about my skin. However, now I am learning my skin is beautiful. I am going to buy your products for the rest of my life! :-)

This is an expensive product, and I'm a little disappointed that it is disappearing so quickly. That said, it's disappearing because I'm using it A LOT! I have a rare genetic condition that makes my skin super soft and elastic--and also sensitive and prone to dryness. After scratching the &@!! out of my boyfriend first, I learned to swipe gently.
As a decades-long devotee of an entirely different moisturizing product, I was skeptical that this one could possibly be moisturizing enough to work alone. And, with my sensitive skin, I rarely exfoliate. But this is a winner on both counts--I can use it daily without a problem, and I haven't had to slather on additional creams or lotions.
The only real negative (aside from its short-lived nature) is the smell. Not bad, but I'm all about yummy smells. I don't like perfume--too strong--so I rely on bath and body products to scent myself. This one is a little clinical. But--followed by a generous dusting of Candy Fluff, I was inspired enough by my first Lush experience to order $150 worth of additional stuff online!
I included another body butter in that order--I'm sold on the concept, but I think I just haven't found "the one." Even so, it's a lovely product, and I'm certainly enjoying it. As a dedicated "green" consumer, I especially appreciate the packaging (or lack thereof!)

Comments about Buffy Body Butter:
Buffy and I are pals. We met about three weeks ago and after our first shower together I knew we were meant to be. I doubt I will ever shower without Buffy anytime soon, because with Buffy my showers are now complete. Buffy exfoliates, moisturizes...leaves me feeling like a new woman. Ive even let Buffy touch my face, now THATS love!
Seriously, though...its fantastic. I dont really see how someone could leave a negative review about this product unless they just dont enjoy smooth, soft, dewy skin. Ugh! Feels so good! I use it in the shower everyday...whole entire body. Even my armpits! I can skip the lotion right after the shower (which I could never do before).
The smell of the bar itself is light and wonderful. I do like, however, that it doesnt leave a strong smell on my skin after drying off. I can go ahead with perfume or scented lotion without the fear of smelling like a brothel.
I used to suffer from Keratosis Pilaris, those tiny bumps on the back of my upper arms...not any more. This magical bar of goodness has done away with them. Im so happy, and I recommend this to all of my friends...and what the heck, even my enemies. Life is too short not to indulge yourself in a little LUSH.

This soup is amazing! It's a bit pricey to me, but it exfoliates your skin and moisturizes it. It also runs out a bit quickly but it feels so great to use that I can't resist it.

It's true, you will have a very slight (tolerable) greasy feeling after using this. I suggest using it right before bedtime. Overnight, the awesomeness will soak in and you will wake up with amazing skin. I wouldn't recommend using this in the morning because you will walk around with a greasy feeling all day. It works better than any lotion I have ever tried.

Comments about Buffy Body Butter:
I'm new to LUSH and am not a regular reviewer of products so you know this one has got to be good...
I walked into LUSH for the first time earlier this week with the intention of walking out with a sample or two of a mask that might help calm my spastic 25-year-old-suddenly-I-think-I'm-a-greasy-acne-laden-15-year-old skin. Shout out to Ingrid at the Valley Fair San Jose location who treated me to an in store facial; her customer service and enthusiam for the products was exceptional. While talking about what kind of skin I have, I mentioned I'd never found anything that helped calm the keratosis on the backs of my arms and she came back with Buffy. I'm skeptical about most (ok, all) exfoliators that claim to soften skin, yadda yadda. But, I decidd to give it a shot. After only ONE use in the shower that night the redness and splotchiness on my arms was GONE. It was INSTANT. In 25 year, I have never had any product do this for me.
So here's the scoop: I use it in the shower and just rub th actualbar onto my skin. Make sure you point the shower head away from you as the watter wil quickly melt the bar (also be sure not to sqeeze it too tightly in your hand because it will melt). I thn rub it in in circular motions for extra exfoliation on the spots that need it. Rinse off and PAT DRY. Your skin may feel prtty greasy afterward but give it a few minutes and it will absorb. You skin will feel soft, morsturized and rich. If you have keratosis, eczama or chapped skin, this will be a lifesaver. I used to use unscented alba lotion with a fw drops of lomi lomi oil for deep moisturization after ach shower but I think I can pretty much do away with that routine now. No lotion will ever be needed as long as this guy is in my posession!
One more comment: storage may be an issu. If left in your shower, I reccommend you break it into smaller pieces so that it lasts longer. Mine actually melted during the day because it sat in th sun on the window sill (really??) so play it safe and gt a tin to store it in or just rmove it from the shower and kp in a cool, dry place.

Comments about Buffy Body Butter:
I really like this product. My skin feels smooth, and greatly improved from a moisture standpoint. The only downside, it doesn't last long (and I do put it in a tin) and it makes one heck of a mess in my tub! Aside from those two things, lol, it's a fantastic product.

Cons
Best Uses

Comments about Buffy Body Butter:
I'm still on my first Buffy bar; I bought the smaller one and went back shortly after to get the larger one. I wish the bars would last a little longer, but it has lasted about what I expected so far (I mean, I have been using it with every shower!!).
Just wishful thinking! I hope I can continue to afford this because I really love it. There's no need to slather lotion on after my shower and wait to try and it smells great all day. I haven't seen any improvement with my keratosis pilaris as of yet, but only time will tell.

If this doesn't last a long time your using too much. It's not soap. You don't need to rub it on every part of your body. Rub it down your arms and legs then, set the bar down. Rub what's left on your body and your good.

This stuff is AMAZING! I use it at the end of my shower, and now that I've been introduced to it, I will never be able to go without again!
This stuff makes your skin feel so soft and silky, much better then lotion ever did, and it LASTS! Finally! a moisturizer I don't have to run and use every couple of hours! I went to a no-showers camping weekend, and I used this the morning we left, and on the day we came home I was just as soft as the day we left! My only issue with it is that it doesn't last long, but I don't care, it's soo worth the costs.

I use this in the shower after I've washed my body. I have Keratosis Pilaris (chicken skin) which leaves me dry and peely sometimes. This stuff helps get off all the dead skin and moisturizes so well! I don't even have to use lotion afterwards! It's a little coarse but it doesn't seem to irritate my sensitive skin. Just DON'T get it near your hair, I put it on my upper back...and my hair got soooo greasy!!

I really like this!

Comments about Buffy Body Butter:
I just got my box of Lush goodies in the mail, and this was the first thing I tried. I have kp on my arms like some other reviewers, as well as being prone to ingrown hairs/red bumps on my lower legs after shaving. I just shaved and used Buffy according to the directions. It definitely exfoliates! And no red spots yet.
The only thing I didn't like was after I patted my skin dry it felt way too moisturized, like I used too much lotion, so I ended up vigorously drying with my towel to lessen it. It still felt too lotiony but about 10 minutes later it soaked in to leave a nice soft feel. So if you are thinking of buying Buffy but worried about the reviews that say it is too greasy, try thoroughly drying afterwords because it's a great product and you can control the amount of moisture you're left with by how you dry off/possibly more rinsing.

Comments about Buffy Body Butter:
Buffy is simply wonderful. I have super dry skin, and hate using lotion after getting out of the shower because it absorbs so slowly. Buffy leaves me feeling more moisturized than any lotion I've used before, and absorbed into my skin quickly, and lasted until my next shower. The only "con" if you can call it a con, is that it is exfoliates with power, and the first couple of uses left me a little red, as I'm not used to that much exfoliation, but you learn to love it. I'd buy this 10 times over!

Comments about Buffy Body Butter:
I bought my mother the "My Fair Lady" gift set for her birthday/Christmas and she has yet to use every product (she likes to use everything one by one, and slowly). She loved the Figs and Leaves soap, and I'm sure she was hoping for the same effect on Buffy. I think she thought it was a soap though, and she told me she hated the oily, buttery feeling it gave her. She gave it to me, and I use it every morning when I get ready before I go out, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth all day. I usually have very dry skin that annoys the hell outta me when I wear warm clothing and it feels as if my clothes are absorbing all the moisture from my body, and I neglect putting on lotion after showering due to time and laziness. Buffy was just what I needed to solve that problem, and it's so wonderful!

Buffy really gets the grime out of my skin. I'm a server - I sweat a lot at work and sometimes get covered in all kinds of nastiness. Buffy digs up all that extraneous nonsense and leaves my skin soft and clean. This is a powerful exfoliating machine.
It does however leave a buttery lotion-esque film on my skin that some people may not like. (I don't mind! It makes my hyde feel moisturized and smooth!)

I purcahsed this product on a whim while at my local lush store. I fell in love with this product after my first use! I use my bar on my legs after i shave them. This bar leaves my skin super soft and hydrated. Remember to store this bar in it's tin, or it could melt away in your showere and that would be a shame. I've already purchased this bar again, and i will purchase it again and again and again. My legs have never been so soft!

We don't generally recommend using the body butters to shave, simply because they are very thick, and meant to work as an in-shower lotion. Because of their texture, they are a little bit too thick for a razor, and could potentially clog the blades. We do have a number of shaving creams that are formulated specifically for use with razors!Answered on 3/8/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct

There are no cleansing ingredients in the Buffy to remove dirt, oil, or bacteria, so I'd still recommend using a bar soap or shower gel before the Buffy. You will find the Buffy helps to slough away dead skin cells, but I wouldn't consider it an antibacterial or cleansing product.Answered on 4/9/2012 by Megan from LUSHA:

I find that it works better than any other exfoliation or moisturization product I have ever tried!Answered on 2/28/2012 by LittleBird from Olathe, KSA:
Yes! I loved it for those pesky bumps. I used it dry and then rinsed of. It will leave you very red because of the extreme exfoliation but it doesn't last long and it gets it much smoother that way.Answered on 4/2/2012 by Amalya from Roanoke, VAA:
I used Buffy for the first time yesterday after leaving my Kertaosis alone for years (I had a prescription for it for a while but never faithfully used it as it didn't help that much). In one day, I've seen a noticeable difference in my skin! My bumps are disappearing and are less red! It's kind of amazing. I'm pretty new to Lush but I know I'll be buying Buffy again when I use up my bar!Answered on 5/31/2012 by Claire from Chicago, ILA:
I have been trying all sorts of products for my KP for years and years, things prescribed by doctors too and NOTHING ever really worked... Expect for now. This bar is AMAZING. After one use, just ONE, my KP was reduced by 50%. If you want your body burden gone buy this product.Answered on 3/3/2013 by BuffyUser from Oakland, Ca
