How to use How it's made Inventors stories
Fill your bathtub with warm water, drop in the Bath Bomb and lay back to enjoy its lovely color and gorgeous fragrance. Some LUSH Bath Bombs contain flower petals and others have secret surprises (if you prefer not to have these pieces floating in your tub, wrap the Bath Bomb in a recycled nylon before use). To make your experience even more memorable, combine your fragrant Bath Bomb with a Luxury Bath Melt.

Beautiful butter cream hydration for dry skin

Our vanilla-scented Bath Bomb is anything but boring when you lay back into a cozy white blanket of creamy, buttery froth. This little fizzer is the ultimate in comfort with chunks of creamy cocoa butter; it’s fantastic for rehydrating dry skin. Baths can dry your skin if they’re too hot, so if you’re in need of a long, lingering bath pop one of these gorgeous beauties into the tub for a vanilla custard soak to lull you into a deep relaxed state – and leave with sweeter, softer skin.

Features

  • Sweet relief: For bath enthusiasts who love long baths and suffer from dry skin.
  • Cuckoo for cocoa: Chunks of cocoa butter melt in the water and moisturize your skin as you bathe.
  • Finely fragranced: The intoxicating blend of vanilla musk and ylang ylang was one of our first fragrances.

from Ristoria
"I love this bath bomb and I always buy more than one when I get them. It was my first one to try because they are slightly cheaper than the others, but just because it's smaller and cheaper doesn't mean that it doesn't pack a punch! This thing is amazing ...more"

I don't usually take baths, but I decided to get this bath bomb on a whim. I am SO glad I did! After a super-stressful Friday I filled the tub, popped this in and instantly slipped into total relaxation. The smell of the bomb itself put me off at first, but once it went in the bath, the smell mellowed out into a calming, soothing vanilla. Once I got out, I felt so relaxed and my skin was so soft, it was as if the stress of the whole day just melted away with the bath.

Metaphors aside, I LOVED this product. For my first experience with Lush stuff, I am super impressed. I'll definitely be buying this bomb again.

This is my best friends favorite bomb. She's raved about it for years so I thought that I would try it. It smells amazing and it didn't turn the bath a gross color like some. But it was kind of gross. I felt like I was bathing in a tub of grease or lard. I had to shower after the bath and scrub to get the gross feeling off of my skin. I was really disappointed. I wanted to like it and I wanted it to help my uber dry skin and it just left me feeling icky. :(

    Comments about LUSH Butterball:

Amazing little Ball o' Moisture! Don't let it's small sized fool you...it's full of grated Cocoa Butter and it melts in the hot water and moisturizes the skin.

Don't use this if you don't like the feeling of "something left" on your skin. This leaves a coating of the Cocoa Butter and feels AWESOME to those of us with really dry (and in my case, old) skin.

I wanted to love this bath bomb. I just can't. It is too oily! It left a ring in the tub and a residue on my skin that I couldn't get rid of. The smell wasn't especially appealing to me either.

I'm currently 8 months pregnant and went to the lush store to find something to help me relax. I threw this in the tub and got in after a very long grouchy day where my ankles were swollen to twice their normal size. It was instant relaxation from the moment it hit the water. The smell isn't overpowering and even though it doesn't change the water any particular color it's one of my new all time faves. Not only was my skin nice and smooth when i got out, the swelling of my feet actually went down more then if i just took a normal bath! Talk about win win.

This was my first Lush purchase - I have fallen in love with the company and their bath bombs! This one has a beautiful, subtle scent. I absolutely love the coco added to the bomb - it makes my skin silky smooth. I didn't have to clean the tub since I was at a hotel so I'm not sure how bad the residue was. One downfall is the price - I can create my own for cheaper (like I'm going to make an effort to do that!). Can't wait to use more products from Lush!

My boyfriend received a package including this and the Honey I washed the kids soap at a Lush store's grand opening. We were very excited to use this after having used our first lush bath product, the Ma Bar together. That being a bubble bar, which I prefer, I went into the experience knowing I would be disappointed by the lack of fireworks in this product. It just does its simple job, very straightforward. The smell isnt fragrant enough for me, although it is calming and it makes the water so smooth and makes you feel very pampered and lovely afterwards. But it wasnt gaudy enough for me and we vigorously used the Honey I washed the kids soap to get some sort of more fragrance up in there. Dont think I would purchase it again though.

                        Comments about LUSH Butterball:

If I recall correctly, I had been shopping at LUSH for over a year when I finally decided to try the bath products. I've never been a big bath-taker, but every time I'd go in to shop, they got more and more intriguing.

I settled on a Butterball, initially because it was the smallest and cheapest, but also because of the smell and promises of softer skin. My skin is pretty clear and normal, but it has its own temper, with random dry spots and oily spots that make no sense. With the salesgirl's help, I also purchased a Floating Island Bath Melt. I got home, cleaned out the tub, put on some music, and dropped both lovely products in. Bottom line: I'm a bath-taker now.

I have since used Butterball on its own, as well as after showering off a good scrub with Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter. Every time, Butterball delivers. The smell is subtle and pleasant, the cocoa butter really works to soften my skin and keep it happy, and you really can't beat the price. This is definitely a case of "good things come in small packages". I can't think of any skin type that wouldn't benefit from a Butterball bath - it does moisturise effectively, but I didn't feel OVER-moisturised to where a person with oily skin might be turned off by this product. (Did that sentence make any sense?) The smell does linger, but it isn't overpowering or cloying. It's just... nice. I'm good with nice.

My only complaint is that it does leave a bit of cocoa butter in the tub afterwards, but I don't mind, as it inspires me to clean out the tub more often.

So... in conclusion, this is the bath bomb I give out as a gift. It's the one I recommend to people who are new to LUSH, or who, like myself, don't consider themselves bath-takers. It's good for any season, and as far as I can guess, any skin type. It was my first, and it's still my favourite.

                        Comments about LUSH Butterball:

I was finally home alone and excited to try this bath bomb! It's much smaller than the other ballistics I've purchased from Lush and when you drop it in the water it isn't as fun as many of the others. But it is super effective - and that cancels out all the flash and glitter that come with Lush's other offerings.

Anyway, once you drop this sucker into the tub it fizzes away and releases these tiny lumps of cocoa butter - and they melt into your bath water so that once everything is mixed together its like you're bathing in a pool of hot oil.

In some ways this was lovely and in others it felt weird - like I was at one of those oil wrestling matches - especially when I was trying not to slip under the water while turning over on my stomach, lol!

The product itself is effective. Just so others who try this aren't disappointed - it is NOT the most moisturizing product in the world but then again very few bath products AREN'T drying. That's the nature of hot water, right? Having said that I did notice a marked difference in my skin after getting out of the tub. Usually my legs are super dry and I can tell just by looking at them. But using Butterball I Didn't have that flaky look to my skin and most of my bits were quite soft. My feet and hands, usually my dryest parts, were still mostly dry. All in all, however, this did the trick and I didn't have to use lotion.

And a few comments about the scent. The description says 'vanilla' but I didn't get that. I mean, yeah, if you call something slightly soft and sweet 'vanilla' I guess so but I think it smelled more like those after-sun lotions - like cocoa or shea butter. It was light, buttery, sweet and a bit nutty. Not a bad smell in the tub but much too strong in the package. And it's been a couple hours now and I still smell it faintly. So it lasts.

I did like this; I'll probably re-buy at some point.

This is my first Lush bath bomb I've ever tried; it was amazing! I was slightly dissapointed at how quickly the effervescance ceased but it was immediately followed by these lovely droplets of skin softening oils in the water that continued to moisturize my skin. First bath I've ever taken and haven't gotten out and run for the lotion! I love it! The smell is also just a wonderful experience <3

I love Butterball! Works like a bath melt with all the chunks of cocoa butter inside! I wish it was bigger tho!!! I want TONS of moisture. So usually I use 2 :D, and a bath melt....but my skin is SUPER dry. Its a little boring as far as bath bombs go, being white and all....but I appreciate it as I have sensitive skin. It's nice to have a plain Jane once in a while :D but it smells super sweet and awesome. YUM YUM VANILLA!

I am a new lush user and I bought the buttercup gift box for myself as a treat. I have to say I am truly impressed! I used the Butterball this morning and I am in love. The product smells great and is very softening. The only downfall I had with this is it was no where as fizzy as shown in demos. I think I might have just gotten a dud in the fizz department.

I had a couple mosquito bites when I got in the tub and they stopped itching and feel fine now ^_^

I do have to say that I will be purchasing this again in the future.

                                  Comments about LUSH Butterball:

After I saved up some cash, I headed to my local Lush store to try out some new things. Among them was Butterball. It is the first bath bomb I've ever used, and I'm hoping I got a dud. I read all these reviews about how great it was, but it left me feeling ripped off, even though it was only [$] dollars. I ran my bathwater and when it was done, I dropped in the bomb. It fizzed but didn't do much of anything else. I barely smelled anything and my skin felt no different after I got out of the tub then before. The only thing it did was leave little sticky particles on the sides of my bathtub. Maybe my bathwater was too hot, but I did exactly what it said to do here just to make sure I got the most out of the bomb. Unfortunately, even that didn't work. Again, I'm hoping I just got a dud and I think I'll give it another chance. But that's it after that. I think for now I'll stick to buying my favorite massage bars and Silky Underwear powder instead.

Butterball doesn't contain any colour ingredients that could stain the hair, so you should definitely be fine!
