Clean up Canuck-style

All sorts of things come to mind when you think of Canada, but maple syrup tops the list. We've tapped into our roots and brought back our Canadian Maple soap, just for our online Retro section. Made with real maple syrup and topped with sugar, it's gentle and soothing and leaves your skin soft and smelling sweet. In fact, it smells so delicious you may be tempted to top your pancakes with it, but we recommend it for the bath and shower instead.

Features

  • Let’s get soapy, eh? These sweet suds soften and soothe dry skin.
  • We wouldn’t joke a-boot it: We pour real, Canadian maple syrup into each batch.
  • True north, strong and free: Each block of soap is topped with a sweet sprinkling of coffee sugar crystals.

I just got this as a sample with an online order. I started using it before I read reviews, and was so surprised to see the negative feelings towards this soap. I think it smells really great! Like maple but also like honeycombs. I think it smells really nice and I keep sneaking upstairs to wash my hands with it. I think I'll buy this in a full-size when I make my next purchase. My only complaint is that is isn't very moisturizing, so it might be a poor choice in winter/fall if your hands need added moisture, like mine. But, since it's 100 degrees here today, it doesn't bother me.

I was curious, so ordered a chunk of this with my last LUSH basics order. The smell didn't come across as maple at all! It has a vaguely sweet, waxy smell. Reminds me of a brown sugar candle. Since I'd paid for it I used it, and found that it lathers up easily and my skin felt slippery smooth afterwards. There was a faint sweet smell, but it dis not linger. Overall it functions quite well as a soap, but doesn't have that WOW factor in the aroma I have come to expect from LUSH.

Comments about LUSH Canadian Maple Soap:

I received this soap as a part of a gift and it was just... Awful! It smells like stale cinnamon and wax. I thought maybe it would smell better when wet so I washed my hands with it. It lathered up really good and the smell was slightly muted but no better than before. Once I rinsed my hands the suds came off and no residue what so ever was left, this includes the moisture of my hands! Right now I am typing this review and my hands are a bit chapped! It smells like weird christmas time at my grandmothers in the 90s. No thanks Lush, this was a swing and a miss.

Comments about LUSH Canadian Maple Soap:

It sounds great in theory but it didn't work out in real life. This is one of the few times i have ordered from Lush and really disliked something. THe smell was like half old maple syrup with some type of sour milky smell. My skin was so dry after using it. It is currently put away as "in case of emergency" soap. (Not that i would ever let my lush supply get that low.)

I saw this on the Lush website but didnt buy it. It seemed very interesting though. I enjoy the smell(and taste) of real maple syrup. I got a smaple of this soap and it was not what I expected. I was excited at first then when I smelled it I wish I never had. It doesnt have a good syrup smell. Its almost cheap and plastic smelling. Or like a sweet smelling rubber. Its soft to the touch but a little sticky. I have yet to use it but may try washing my hands with it. I got a tiny sample. About an inch. I've keept it separate from my other Lush. I dont want anything else to pick up the smell.

Nope. It's a dud. I almost bought this because I absolutely love Maple! But I got a sample with my latest purchase and I am glad I did not buy it. It smells very earthy and sweet but sort of musky to. Kind of like Maple sap I would imagine. It isn't a nice syrupy smell like I hoped it would be. Now it wasn't HORRIBLE, no not at all. Just not one I enjoyed. It needs more of that pancake maple syrup smell to it. I wouldn't buy this product.
