probably the best 'all around' lotion you can get for your money. if there's something better out there, you better prove it to me.i got this as a gift years ago, and i got the large portion of it. the price may be a bit of a damper to some of you, but it's called the charity pot for a reason. each time you buy it, all the proceeds go directly to whichever charity is listed on their lid.the lotion itself is actually very good. i was concerned, thinking maybe it would be kind of greasy or sticky. you know, that feeling you get after you apply lotion you feel like of sticky like glue or something..well not this. this was quick to absorb, and super quick to get into the pores and work its magic. relieves any chapped skin you may have on whatever part of your body, and doesn't leave an icky residue. as for the smell, i dont know, it doesnt really smell like much? i guess like lotion? one notable thing though:i had my previous charity pot for over 3 years. the expiration date was a year after it was purchased, i was still using it after the date. i saw why they say "best used before." reason being, the lotion tends to get kind of watered down and greasy. at least mine did. maybe it wont for you. who knows. but that was like, after three years. so yeah.all in all, i say, spend that [$] and treat yourself to some good [*].

As I was at one of my many shopping adventures at a local Lush store, I noticed this moisturizer by the front counter as I was making my purchase. The Lush worker told me about how all of its proceeds go to charitable causes and I was immediately intrigued to A) to be charitable and B) to have an excuse to buy more Lush products!
I have to say I do not like the smell of this lotion. It is different and a little to earthy for my taste, although that is just my personal opinion. If you are into scents like sandalwood and pathchuoli, you would probably like this lotion.
Also, this lotion isn't thick like a body butter and was not effective on my abnormally dry skin.
Overall I am disappointed by the lotion and would not buy it again. But at least I donated to a good cause. :)

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
I bought this as an impulse buy-- it's for a good cause! After I tried it on, it has quickly become one of my favorite Lush products. I'm surprised by the negative reviews of the smell-- it's a bit like a white chocolate orange with some very light floral notes. It's not overpowering to me at all, and I have a sensitive nose. I use Helping Hands and Vanishing Cream in the morning, and so I like to keep Charity Pot in my bag at all times; it's become my go-to midday moisturizer. Dry hands after washing? Charity Pot! Notice a little winter dryness on my cheeks as I'm out and about? Charity Pot! Dry, itchy legs irritated by wool socks? Charity Pot! It's light and velvety, absorbs quickly, and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy.

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
I bought this as I was checking out at LUSH and decided to add this product to my bag. The initial smell isn't my favorite but once it is absorbed into my skin it smells a lot better. I use this product after I shower and love that it isn't heavy or greasy at all! I feel clean and moisturized :) Definitely will purchase this again!

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
I finally got this product (as well as a few others) in the mail a few days ago. I absolutely LOVE the fact that the money goes to charity which makes me feel pretty good about myself. The Charity Pot reminds me a bit of sunscreen, but not in a bad way. The smell...probably the one thing I don't love about it. It's not BAD but it's not really good. It's okay I guess. It looks, feels, and smells like flowery sunscreen. The similarities stop there though. It smoothes on really easily, and feels great. It's a little greasy the first 15 minutes or so, but after that WOW!! It absorbs wonderfully, and makes my skin extremely soft and smooth. I have used it every night since, I've gotten it and I have absolutely no regrets.

Cons

- Deep Moisturization
Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
I bought this lotion mostly because the proceeds go to charity. I love this lotion because it is super moisturizing and makes my skin feel amazing, but the lotion smells weird to me. Not horrible, but to me it smells like a mix of tootsie rolls and citrus--not what I was hoping for. But, I'm only taking off a star because of that. If i could take off a half a star, i would. I use it every night before bed, or on and off all day when I'm not planning on leaving the house, just because the scent does linger a bit. Despite that, I will continue buying this lotion as long as the money goes to charity.

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
I bought a smaller charity pot about a year ago as part of a larger Lush purchase, mostly so I could support one of the charities represented that year. At first I didn't look at it much and it sat around for a few days before I tried it out as a hand lotion. It's great for my cuticles and once it absorbs it leaves your hands nice and soft, but in the interim it was just a little too heavy for my tastes. Then again, I have itsy-bitsy hands!
Where this lotion did start shining for me was using it on winter-tormented skin. It got rid of dryness, chapping, and rough spots, leaving my skin gorgeously soft and smooth. I wanted to get more, but alas I had to wait about a year before I caught it in my local shop again. This time I didn't hesitate to grab the large tub!
My favorite use for this lotion is after I get out of the shower or before bed. Using it on your feet and covering it with soft socks is a recipe for amazingly soft tootsies in the morning! I just have to make sure I'm giving it ample time to soak in, because greasy skin during the day isn't my favorite thing in the world.
I've also grown to really love the scent. I know a lot of people find it hard to describe, and I'm no different. Chocolate bonbon comes to mind, with a definite floral touch. Even kind of reminds me of patchouli. It's a sort of earthy, grounding scent that I especially enjoy in the fall and winter months.
Charity Pot surely has its niche uses for me, but consider me a fan!

Nice hand cream...bad smell
Pros
- Absorbs Quickly
- Goes On Smoothly
- Moisturizes Well
- Softens Skin
Cons
- Bad Smell
Best Uses
- Bedtime
- Dry/Chapped Skin
Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
I gave this 4 stars as this hand cream is very nice as far as hydration is concerned. I put it on before bed and my hands were very soft in the morning. It is not very heavy or greasy at all. I work in health care so my hands are very dry most of the time.
As far as smell goes...the product would have 1 star. I actually found it very nauseating! I am not a fan of floral scents so perhaps it was the Ylang Ylang that was off-putting to me. I only bought the pot to support the cause(s). If I find a friend that likes the smell then I will continue to buy it for the sake of supporting the cause.

Smells like Valentines Day
By Annie
from Oregon
Pros
- Absorbs Quickly
- Goes On Smoothly
- Moisturizes Well
Cons
Best Uses
- After Shower/Bath
Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
The first time I smelled this I got the strong floral, but when the floral dissipated I got a weird slightly flowery chocolate. It's like if someone mixed a bouquet of flowers with a box of chocolates so I like to say it smells like Valentines Day.
It's not a scent I would usually go for, but it's just so intriguing I can't put it down. It's a decent lotion in any case. :)

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
Unfortunately, I couldn't list any pros about this product because I honestly couldn't get past the smell! It's so revolting! And I really wanted to like this lotion because it's such a great cause! I'm not sure what the offending ingredient is, but I just can't stand the smell!
It pains me to leave a bad review because I love Lush so much!

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
First of all, let me say that this product, like most Lush products, is top quality. I really love the feel of this lotion, and my skin is never chapped feeling after I use it. But oh God, the smell is so awful. I guess they went for a chocolate scent, but it smells more like vomit mixed with chocolate. I don't know why thy would choose it, it would be my favoirte lotion if it was like vanilla, or even a faint cocoa butter. It fades after awhile, but it really hits you when you open it. I wouldn't buy this again because of the smell, which is sad because it's for charity. Make it a better smell and it could become a staple in my routine!

I didn't buy charity pot for the scent. i bought it because im a sucker for a cause. it doesn't really have a distinct smell to me. it smells nice and light but nothing where i go oh my gosh i love the smell! i use silky underwear dust after so it doesn't matter to me. What i LOVE about charity pot is that it really soaks into my skin and keeps it smooth and not dry. its non irritation and doesn't bother my skin that sometimes is overly sensitive. bottom line it works and it moisturizes and its a good for the sensitive ones out there!

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
I bought this product after seeing it online, and was interested because ofthe charity aspect of it. It smelled great in the store, but I think that's because it was mized with every other wonderful smelling thing at Lush. As soon as I got home, I tried the product out, and hated the scent. It smells really vile.
But, it does moisturize well. I have really bad dry hands all year round, and so I've used the product about 3 times in the past 2 days. Each time it helps a little more.
It is really oily until it fully absorbs into your skin, and it takes a little longer to absorb. On the bright side, it moisturises better than most lotions I've used.

I had the lady try this on me at the store as I was teetering on which lotion to buy adn although I adore what it stands for and will probably buy a small pot or two and give them to friends, I just cant stand the heavy cocoa bean scent. I would but it up and up if the scent were something different.

Love that it helps out charities but the smell is horrible. I would purchase this every time if it didn't smell so bad. It was kind of a soupy lotion. It actually spilled out all over me when I opened it. I love all the other products I have gotten but I rather just donate the money then have this product:/

I am on my fourth pot. I love this product and have decided to try to always have some around. I keep it next to my bathroom sink as a good reminder so I tend to use it after shower and in spots before bed.
I have given it as gifts for friends who appreciate as I do, the charity aspect of this product. It's always a nice suprise to see what charity you have helped when your pot arrives!

I really do like this stuff. It does everything a lotion should do, but I'm not crazy about the smell, though that doesn't really effect me using it or not. It's neutral enough to ignore because of all the benefits. Don't let the smell bug you!!! Trust me, this is a great lotion!

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
While I'm not particularly fond of the smell (though my BF likes it), this lotion is great- it saved my skin!
My legs get very irritated after shaving. So much that rinsing the shave cream off burns, and applying lotion after stings. I have tried so many lotions, and they are all the same (some even cause little red bumps).
So I have been using this for about 3 days and I'm loving it. A little really goes a long way, and at first it feels greasy. But when it dries, my skin is silky. And my skin feels smooth and silky the next day, which NEVER happened with other lotions.
After using this, I don't dread getting my legs wet. Before, after using lotion, the next day my legs would sting when I got them wet in the shower. I was happy to find that was not the case after using this.
The smell isn't the best, but it's not awful. Is definitely stronger in the pot, but after it dries on your skin it smells quite pleasant (like a woody sweet almondy smell) and becomes very light. The moisturizing ability is worth it.
This is the first lush lotion I have tried, and though I'd like to try others, I will definitely keep this one on hand! Plus I feel good knowing that I'm helping a cause that I care about :)
If you are tired of trying lotions and being let down, give this one a shot!

Comments about LUSH Charity Pot:
Today was my first time trying/purchasing Charity Pot. When I tried it in the store, the smell was alright. However, when I opened the pot I purchased, it smelled fermented or like there was alcohol in it. It did not smell like chocolate. Although my batch did not smell pleasant in the pot, it smelled a lot better once I applied it and let the scent breathe (still no chocolate though). Now that it has been on my skin for awhile, I am actually liking the scent. Besides having a decent scent, Charity Pot absorbs well and my skin feels very smooth. It is not greasy at all. My guess is that the people who thought it was greasy, put way too much on. With most Lush products, a little goes a long way. I LOVE that you can choose what charity you want to support when you buy the smaller pots. I will definitely be purchaing this again.
