probably the best 'all around' lotion you can get for your money. if there's something better out there, you better prove it to me.i got this as a gift years ago, and i got the large portion of it. the price may be a bit of a damper to some of you, but it's called the charity pot for a reason. each time you buy it, all the proceeds go directly to whichever charity is listed on their lid.the lotion itself is actually very good. i was concerned, thinking maybe it would be kind of greasy or sticky. you know, that feeling you get after you apply lotion you feel like of sticky like glue or something..well not this. this was quick to absorb, and super quick to get into the pores and work its magic. relieves any chapped skin you may have on whatever part of your body, and doesn't leave an icky residue. as for the smell, i dont know, it doesnt really smell like much? i guess like lotion? one notable thing though:i had my previous charity pot for over 3 years. the expiration date was a year after it was purchased, i was still using it after the date. i saw why they say "best used before." reason being, the lotion tends to get kind of watered down and greasy. at least mine did. maybe it wont for you. who knows. but that was like, after three years. so yeah.all in all, i say, spend that [$] and treat yourself to some good [*].

As I was at one of my many shopping adventures at a local Lush store, I noticed this moisturizer by the front counter as I was making my purchase. The Lush worker told me about how all of its proceeds go to charitable causes and I was immediately intrigued to A) to be charitable and B) to have an excuse to buy more Lush products!
I have to say I do not like the smell of this lotion. It is different and a little to earthy for my taste, although that is just my personal opinion. If you are into scents like sandalwood and pathchuoli, you would probably like this lotion.
Also, this lotion isn't thick like a body butter and was not effective on my abnormally dry skin.
Overall I am disappointed by the lotion and would not buy it again. But at least I donated to a good cause. :)

Love the smell...my bed smells like yummy food..lol. The smell last a long time and love how it feels. The only thing I would say is the last batch I had was thicker than this new one. I hope the next one is like the first one! Oh and its for a great cause, gotta love that! Thanks :)

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
I have terrible eczema, especially when the weather changes. To make matters worse, it primarily shows up on my hands and feet, which means everyone can see it. I bought charity pot in order to give to a good cause, not expecting it to be the solution I have needed for years. Literally within minutes of applying charity pot, I can tell a difference-- My dry skin patches, rash, and peeling skin look and feel better. I have no doubt that using this product every day is helping me keep my previously out of control eczema at a minimum. Thank you so much. It is so wonderful not be embarassed every time someone sees my hands, and to be able to wear sandals in public. Thank you.

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
This is the most amazing body lotion out there. Really. It feels soft and silky and absorbs quickly and leaves my skin soft and moisturized. I also own Dream Cream but it does not work as well as Charity Pot. It smells sort of earthy and woody, I personally love the sent but others might not like it as much. It is also so great that all the money goes to charities. I will repurchase again and again!

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
I love everything about this lotion! It not only helps out charities, but it also gives you creamy and luxurious skin. I've used almost every type of lotion in the book and none has gotten rid of razor rash (unfortunate enough to be that allergic to metal), helped clear up my eczema, or even appears to be making my stretch marks not as visible. This product does all the above and to perfection. My only complaint is that there's not a jar big enough without breaking my bank to use it daily everywhere, but this product is definitely worth it to me. The smell can be off-putting to others when you first put it on (the smell wears off eventually) but I personally love it.

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
This was an impulse purchase at the register, and it did not disappoint. It's a great hand creme/lotion that smells a bit chocolatey. I have terribly dry skin and most lotions feel greasy to me, but this was a very pleasant consistency. That said, the smell isn't... everyone's cup of tea. I don't particularly care for it, but it's not very strong. I wear LUSH's Karma perfume and it easily covers the lotion's smell. My boyfriend loves the scent, on the other hand. Seems to be hit-or-miss and for this product I can certainly tolerate a less than delicious scent.
This doesn't affect my rating or anything, but just a warning to anyone keeping this in their purse: I started keeping the container in a little bag, because every now and then a little bit of the lotion oozes out, especially after you've just screwed the lid back on. I'm considering transferring the lotion to a small pump container to avoid this, because I love to carry it with me. It's worth it.

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
The main reason I chose this lotion over all the other lotions in the store is because all the money you spend on that product goes to the charity that you choose on the pot. I thought that was a really creative way of giving to help charities. And I ended up loving this lotion! I use this on my arms and legs every night before bedtime and when I wake up EVERYTHING is sooo soft and smooth. I have never had skin this moisturized before with any other lotion. This stuff is amazing. It smells exactly like the Friends with Benefits massage bar...so kind of chocolately and floral. At first I was not fond of the smell but i have grown to love it and it puts me to sleep. If you want an amazing lotion that moisturizes really well and also to help out some charities YOU SHOULD GET THIS PRODUCT!

Cons

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
I bought this after wondering into my local LUSH. I was quite iffy because the price was a bit out of my range, buying drugstore lotions was my usual products.
This lotion is AMAZING. I'm obsessed with the smell.
Not only does it smell like a toned down coco, but it moisturizes really well. My dry & flaky skin is now a glorified bronze with the silkiest touch. The Charity Pot is not only helping out a charity but also it's helping out your skin. Do yourself a favor, and splurge!
I am very pleased with this product, and am now looking at another trip to buy some more items!

Best Uses

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
Oh, charity pot. I want to love you, but I can't. First of all, personally, I'm not a huge fan of the scent. I'm not sure which it is (ylang ylang? cocoa butter? almond oil?) but one of them smells funny. But that's just me. I have super dry skin in the winter, and putting this lotion on after a shower or before bed works wonders. It's a little bit too heavy for my skin that's not extremely dry though, and feels a bit greasy after I put it on. So, it's great for super dry skin if you like all three of those scents I mentioned, but probably not for average use.

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
I recently bought this product and I love it. The smell is a bit odd but it's growing on me. I can ignore the smell, though, because this product moisturizes my skin really well. I was actually surprised how well it work because in the past when I used more natural lotions it would dry out my hands fast. I also love the fact that all proceeds go to the charity that is on the pot.

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
I first sampled this product in store, and liked it, but not enough to buy it then. A few weeks later I decided to order it. When I received the product I noticed some of the product seeped out of the jar. I opened it up and it was pretty much all over the place. I do love the lotion though. It smells great and moisturizes well. I just wish it wasn't so messy.

Cons

Best Uses

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
I generally wouldn't spend so much money on a lotion, but my hands get horribly dry and cracked in the winter. A friend let me try some of hers, and I was sold! I bought my own pot immediately.
It has a light cocoa smell, which I can see why not everyone likes it, but I think it's nice. It does take a few minutes to absorb all the way and feels a little greasy until it does, but it keeps my hands soft and moisturized for the whole day. I won't go through another winter without it. I usually put it on after I get out of the shower.

Love Love LOVE this lotion! I have the problem with organic lotions that sometimes they can leave a sticky feeling on my skin but not this one! It is pricey but so worth it! I can't stop putting it all over my body, it smells fantastic. It's a little oily when first applied but then once it's absorbed by your skin it has an amazing hydrating effect, again, without any sticky feeling. As they say, a little goes a long way, so try the small one, but it's so good you'll want to buy the big one. Can't get enough of the cocoa smell!

I love how the 100% (except tax) goes to charity. I can also see how people can either absolutely love or hate the smell. The scent is definitely unique, but I loved it. I also loved how well it moisturized my winter dry hands. The smell was so gorgeous at first, but once I got about 3/4 of the way through my pot, the lotion took on a plasticky smell. I'm going to continue using it till I run out b/c it does a great job moisturizing, however I don't think I'll buy another pot. I'm giving it four stars based only on how well it works.

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
Like many people I added this at the last minute because they had the tinier containers at the counter. I thought," oh what the heck, it's for charity". I am a dream cream and Karma cream girl but I am really beginning to like this stuff. Like others, I found the scent a bit odd at first. Kind of sweet and plastic-y. I also find that I feel the need to wash my palms off after I apply it because it is slightly greasy at first. However, it eventually becomes really wonderful. The scent mellows to something rather pleasant and it leaves the skin very soft and moisturized. I will always be a Dream Cream and Karma cream girl but all and all Charity Pot is pretty darn good.

A warm sort of chocolately smell but with other wonderful notes to the sent :) I will continue to buy this product! :)

- Moisturizes Well
- Not Greasy
- Smells Great

Cons
Best Uses

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
I apply Charity Pot right after my shower/bath. It sinks right into my dry winter skin and doesn't leave an oily finish, as some of the other Lush lotions do. Charity Pot smells a little bit like chocolate, and a little floral. The scent is stronger compared to other Lush lotions - I get occasional, light whiffs of it in the first few hours of the day but it's not so strong that I think other people can smell it on me. Charity Pot keeps my skin soft for 24 hours. Of course for my hands, which I wash several times a day, I have to reapply a few times. I love this lotion because it's effective and the money goes to great causes. I chose a charity for sharks for my first pot. I will definitely repurchase.

Cons

Best Uses

Comments about Charity Pot Body Lotion:
Honestly it stinks, but are you expecting to buy a hand cream or a perfume? If you want the latter then look elsewhere.
First putting it on: I notice it's quite greasy, and has a strong -not so pleasant- scent. However both absorb/dissipate in about half and hour and leave you with moisturized skin.
The charity aspect makes it an even better purchase, so if the smell bothers you that much buy it as a gift! ;)
