I am a totally pale and usually get spray tans every week or so. This product has helped me ween off of the tanning salon and saved me money! It is so fabulous! I look like I've been tanning or on vacation. I have been a lush fan for almost a decade and this product is the one I have been the most impressed with!

This tint works, and doesn't streak too badly, but it smells absolutely vile and the scent doesn't fade. I put it on my arms right after I bought it, and it nearly gave me an asthma attack. I washed it off with soap and water in the shower and still had to use a scented makeup removing cloth to get rid of the smell.

I am not sure if they sell a different formula in Canada and the UK, because I've seen reviews about it smelling like chocolate and bananas. In my opinion, it smells absolutely nothing like chocolate, bananas, or flowers (like the bottle claims).

If you are at all sensitive to scents, I would really recommend you give this one a pass.

If you use it in conjunction with one of the silk stockings depending on your skin type it gives you a more intense beautiful bronze plus a little shimmer!!!!

This product is amazing, I have tried other brands and nothing beats this. I am so fair skinned I am multiple shades lighter then the lightest makeup foundation shade at most places and this doesn't make me orange! :) it's a lovely glow, and it doesn't test on animals! where am I? is this heaven?

I used it for the first time last weekend on my pale legs, and my legs looked have never looked so good. They were complimented. The tan is natural looking and streak free. I was worried I was going to need to rub it in a lot. Nope. My tip is to be sure to exfoliate beforehand because if you do have dry skin, it can clump in that area.

I received this as a sample in one of my orders. It works very well -- the color blends easily and it looks natural. My skin looks like it has a natural tan glow. The smell is a little strong. I'm not entirely concerned with looking tan, even though I am super pale. So, I don't think that this is something that I would purchase. I am glad that I received it as a sample, though. A little goes a long way.

Just got my Charlotte Island, love the texture, doesn't take much, I would recommend you moisturize first, if you're having problems applying, or mix a little moisture lotion with it, but that would dilute the color a bit. Some people might not like the strong smell, I had a hard time getting used to it, thought it might aggravate my allergies, but so far, so good. All in all, I love it, no more tan towels for me, just apply this lotion when I want a little extra color. GREAT!

I got this at the recomdation of a nice chick at Mall Of America. i like the smell, but its very strong and has an odd smell, not like chocolate banana like ive been told. Also, it is very light, im pretty pale, but even i need use it multiple times. I love that its not sticky or greasy, like with other products like this ive tryed.

I bought two of these because I like the tan so much! Although it smells like baby powder to me and dries quickly, I still love it. It gave me a really natural tan. I am medium skinned but usually really pale in the winter and I've been using it in the winter so I don't look like a complete ghost. It tans my skin slightly and gives it a nice glow, like I was sitting in the sun! And its not orange or anything! Its actually a bronzey-brown colour! I wanted to see if this worked on tanning REALLY pale people (think vampire pale) so I used some of this on my boyfriends arm and good news! It works!
One tip to apply it though, you have to work in sections on your body (forarm/bicep, calf/quads) because this stuff dries FAST. So if you work in sections it will be less likely for there to be streaking.

My skin is a very pale color and I live in an area with limited amounts of sun. I don't like tanning salons, but want a little color. This product delivers in the color department, but has a strong smell my husband teases me about. He says I smell like a christmas tree. I do agree the scent is strong, but it does not smell like a evergreen tree.

Charlotte Island is awesome because you can put it on and you are instantly bronzed. It isn't streaky and doesn't make you orange, either. It has a really nice, natural color. It doesn't make you super tan, but it adds a nice bronze. I wish the smell were a little better, but I think the smell gets better as the day goes on. I will handle the smell... I love how well it works. It dries quickly and doesn't rub off on anything, even white socks. It stays on all day long and only comes off when you wash. I would definitely recommend this!

I love all things lush. They smell great, work amazingly, and just provide where so many other body products fail, miserably. And this body tint does do the job. It makes for a great one day tanner, that looks natural. However, the smell, leaves something to be desired. It's just not nice.

I bought this for myself, im blessed with naturally olive skin and this give its lackluster winter apperence a quick boost!
but my friend, a fair blonde, saw me use this and asked to try some. shes a dancer, so shes tried every self tanner out there, and flipped when she used this. she was addicted to the smell, the lack of orange pigment, and how easy it was to use.
well at least i know what to get her for christmas :p

Gives a great opaque/even glow to your legs, especially if you have a base or fading tan.
Dries quickly, which is good, but don't take on to much body area at one time. Blends very well, does not darken in creases (knees and ankles) like regular self tanner.

I used this for a wedding. Put it on my legs and arms. I cannot be in the sun, so I am WHITE! One application definitely looked like I'd tanned some. No streaking.
Didn't even rub off on my white sweater.

The Charlotte Island tint is definitely something new to me. The best way I can describe it is that it is like a liquid bronzer, but without the shine. It adds color to anywhere that you put it without making you look orange or glittery. I tan very naturally, and only in the sun, so sometimes I have uneven places and tan lines. I put Charlotte Island on my face so that it would match the rest of me, and it gave me an extremely natural look. It is not a lotion though, as I understand it, it is meant to be washed off.

I knew this was coming, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

I saw it on some of the girls at the store, and thought it was a little strange looking, but chalked it up to the store lighting. They are all different complexions, and it looked a bit off on all of them.

I took a sample home because I didn't want to walk out looking like the store clerks did, and when I got it home I realized that it just wasn't going to work for me.

I tried it without self-tanner, with self-tanner, with bronzer powder and without and it just didn't work for me.

It's reddish rather than bronze, and doesn't go on evenly, even after exfoliation.

Maybe LUSH will come up with something a bit better for me. Until then, I'll encourage you to try this for yourself.
