Q:How do I store this? I wasn't given a tin or anything...should I use a small tupperware or just let it hang out on the shelf. I want to get the longest life and avoid contamination so I'm just wondering the best route. Thanks.Asked on 6/2/2014 by YoliB
A:Store it in something with a lid!

A:I use small tupperwares or pottery dishes to store my lush chunks.Answered on 6/2/2014 by Anonymous
A:It behaves quite a bit like regular soap in this way, so I'd say treat
it as you would any other bar of soap. Probably keeping it stored
somewhere well drained, so it isn't sitting and dissolving in water all
day, is the best way to get maximum lifetime out of it.Answered on 6/2/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Will this soap melt in the shower if you take hot showers?Asked on 5/18/2014 by Grace
A:I haven't had any issues and mine lives in a caddy that hangs from the
shower head.Answered on 5/19/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Would this product be good to use for me? I have bipolar skin, I have an extremely oily forhead, noze, and chin. Really dry cheeks, a lot redness on my cheeks, nose, and chin, but I dont have any severe acne, and I break out to often. Would this be good to use? or maybe something else?Asked on 4/24/2014 by Kayla from United States
A:The Coalface Cleanser is great for oily/acne prone skin and drawing impurities out of the pores. I would suggest trying Angels On Bare Skin, it will help balance your skin. The lavender in Angels on Bare Skin will soothe dry areas and soak up oily areas on the face. The kaolin clay will clean out the pores and prevent blemishes.Answered on 5/3/2014 by Jeanine from LUSH Direct
A:I would actally use the "ocean salt" and "9 to 5". Both are awesome products for combating the oiliness and redness for your skin. The ocean salt is a great for exfoliating the skin while the 9 to 5 helps to tame the oily skin. Both smell great! I use coalface to alleviate the blemishes too but I felt it was a little rough on the face sometimes. Try all 3 and I know you willnfind a combination between these three!

A:I love coal face! It not only cleans but exfoliates. I usually follow
washing my face with a toner, give it a try, it is a great product!Answered on 4/25/2014 by Anonymous
A:I am not sure. I have combination skin and it worked well on my skin as long as I used a more intense moisturizer. It may dry out your cheeks more at first. Also, there is a little grit to the soap that is great for exfoliating. However, that may irritate your skin. Just a thought. Hope you find something you like! This works great for keeping my skin breakout free, soft with a healthy glow.

A:I have somehwat similar skin on my face, and I can say that I thought
Coalface was the most effective without causing undesirable effects out
of all the cleansers I experimented with (namely Herbalism and Dark
Angels). So I recommend it to anybody.Answered on 4/24/2014 by Anonymous

A:We do our best to use our ingredients at low enough concentrations to be safe for everyone to use, but you may be more sensitive to certain products during pregnancy. If you are unsure, you should take the ingredient listing to your doctor who will be more able to tell you if it will be okay or not.Answered on 4/11/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Can this be used with Clarisonic?Asked on 7/22/2013 by Ash
A:This product isn't designed to be used with additional accessories, so it's best to check with the manufacturer on whether or not this cleanser is suitable to use with a Clarisonic.Answered on 9/20/2013 by Brandy from LUSH
Q:Doesn't soap base products age your skin faster?Asked on 5/9/2013 by su from raleigh nc
A:Soap should not age your skin any faster than any other product as long as you ensure you are taking other precautionary steps to properly care of your skin. Choosing quality products that will aid with cleansing, toning, exfoliation, and moisturizing will help you give your skin everything it needs.Answered on 9/25/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:How does Coalface compare to Fresh Farmacy? Is coalface more gentle or more powerful on sensitive skin?Asked on 1/11/2013 by Anonymous
A:Coalface contains charcoal powder and salt. This results in a very gentle scrub which most people love, but which may also make it a bit harsh for more sensitive skin types. Fresh Farmacy would be the recommended choice for sensitive skin.Answered on 2/1/2013 by Anonymous
Q:Can I use this if pregnant? Many articles say that you should avoid many things for your skin while pregnant including acne products and treatments. Is this a safe alternative and if not this one which one?Asked on 12/3/2012 by Newbie mommy Rachel from Somewhere, MD
A:We do our best to use our ingredients at low enough concentrations to be safe for everyone to use, but you may experience unique sensitivities during pregnancy. If you have any doubts, it's a good idea to bring the ingredient listing to your doctor, who will be able to give you a more personalized and specific recommendation!Answered on 3/8/2013 by Brandy from LUSH
Q:I have been using Coalface daily/every other day for about 2 months now. I also switch in Ocean Salt once a week. I believe my skin fits the criteria for the cleanser but my face seems to continue to break out and even more now. I was hoping that it was just my skin getting used to it (cleaning out all my dirty blemishes!) but am becoming more concerned that it isn't for me. Is this typical when beginning use?Asked on 9/6/2012 by Kaleena from Syracuse, NY
A:I'm new to the products, but my follow up question/ answer would be - are you using a moisturizer after? I was given a sample of vanishing cream for afterward, and its perfect in every way! It's not a heavy cream and not oily. If you aren't using it, I would suggest trying it out to see if it balances out your skin. Maybe you are over drying or messing up the sebum production too much. If you are already using a moisturizer, maybe you could go back to lush with your unused portion and try switching to fresh Farmacy to see if it is more your speed!Answered on 9/25/2012 by Clever Pepper from Ridgeley, WV
A:It takes at least 3 weeks of using a new product to see the full effect of the product on your skin. If these products aren't working out for you at the 2-month point, it sounds like they aren't making your skin happy. Perhaps your skin is getting too dry from the products, in which case, make sure you're using a moisturizer for oily skin, such as Vanishing Cream. Feel free to send us an email or give us a call and we'd be happy to talk to you about which product may work out better you.Answered on 11/2/2012 by Anonymous
Q:How long is the shelf life of this product?Asked on 8/30/2012 by Rachel from United States
A:When it comes to our solid bar cleansers - CoalFace and Fresh Farmacy - they have a shelf life of 14 monthsAnswered on 8/30/2012 by Anonymous
Q:Can I use this daily? Or is the exfoliation too harsh?Asked on 7/1/2012 by Eliza loves LUSH from Olympia, WA
A:It depends on your skin! Many people use it as a daily cleanser with no issue, but some prefer using it a little bit less frequently. If you are worried, try starting out using it every second day, and seeing how your skin reacts. If it feels good, you can try it every day. If it feels a little bit much, you can cut back to only a few times a week. The exfoliation in this bar is definitely on the gentle side, so lots of people with oily skin have a lot of success with it!Answered on 7/13/2012 by Laura from LUSH
