How to use

Start at the inner corner of the eyelid and draw the eyeliner close to the lashes. A fine line will give discreet colour and a thicker line will give boldness to the eye. For a softer look, draw a thick line and blend onto the eyelid with your finger or a brush.

I have really sensitive eyes and eyelids, and while I love the look of mascara, I hate the irritation from applying it. I got to try Control though at my local Lush shop and was actually surprised at first. No irritated rubbing? No stinging or teary eyes?

Nope, just wonderful, deep blue-colored mascara that complimented my eyes without too bold of a statement. Just enough. Doubles too as a creamy eyeshadow (use an eyeshadow brush and blend before using the thin eyeliner brush as mascara). Again, not garish against my copper-toned skin.

Equally as great: it's easy to wash off. I don't like rubbing off mascara and eyeshadow with eye makeup remover for what seems like forever, only to wash and dry my face on a towel--and get residue on my towels. Although makeup remover definitely takes it off in a jiffy, no need for multiple wipes.

A little really does go a long way, so don't get heavy-handed (unless that's the look you're going for!). It's really pricey and at first I scoffed at it. But it really is nice to finally be able to wear eye makeup!
