You either love this or hate it. At first whiff it smells smoky along with earthy. But I like frankincense so I bought a bar. It is almost overpowering on the bar but something happens as it sinks into your skin, it is much milder after just a few minutes. The oils in it really absorb too so it doesn't stay greasy. It has really grown on me and I massage into my dry callousy feet at night and put socks on. My feet are softening up nicely and the smell on my hands makes me drift off to sleep. My hubby likes it because its not flowery scented. The bar is quite large and will last us a good while. My skin is very silky smooth half an hour after using this. The smell reminds me of the Waylander Rhassoul mud soap by Lush, so I use it together with that.

Pulling it out of the bag, it smelled like burnt rubber. I can understand the initial reactions from other reviewers, but I gave it a chance because of the frankincense - it's suppose to have healing properties. I'm glad I did. I rubbed it on my forearms before bed and after it absorbed, it smelled like warm buttered sage. I don't smell mango at all. I normally have trouble sleeping, but the last three nights using it, I've slept like a baby. Also my arms have been super soft! This is really growing on me. I will buy it again.

Thank you oh thank you Lush for another wonderful massage bar. I ordered this massage bar mostly because I had no massage bar that smelled good over Lush's spicy bubble bath Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds and this is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Someone asked why Lush would allow this massage bar to continue when there are "better" smells available but I for one am so glad that Lush has such a diverse range of smells for different people. I love sweet smells but they're not for all the time.
Anyway I was worried I wouldn't like this massage bar based on the negative reviews it got online but I figured why not give it a shot?
I can understand where some people get the idea of cigarettes and burnt things because I get notes of tar myself but it's more of a woodsy tar, like a pine resin... when I smell it I imagine being out in the woods in the country in the fall after it rains. Definitely not a flowery woodsy smell it's more of the wet fallen leaves, dirt and hidden grass. There are some notes of pine in with all of this, not a whole lot, just enough to imagine a few pine trees in my imaginary forest.

After my first application I promptly fell asleep for a few hours which I really wasn't planning to do as it was the middle of the day but this was just so relaxing.

This bar gets bonus points because my boyfriend loves it. He wears Breath of God perfume all the time and although the only similar ingredient I've seen between the two is vetivert, this is really reminicent of breath of god to me. There's no brightness of the neroli or smokiness of cade oil but the overall smell seems related to me.

Once again THANK YOU lush from the bottom of my heart for this fantastic massage bar. I finally have a smoky sensual massage bar that won't instantly turn my relaxing incence-y bath smell into a candy shop.

I ordered two massage bars because I am trying to branch out and use more Lush products than just the soaps, and out of the two I ordered, I am MUCH happier with the other one. I was so excited for the Cosmic Dreamcatcher just because being in college I have a hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep. However, as soon as I got my order I ripped open the box and peeled off the sticker to smell it. This bar smells like an herbally cigarette butt to me. I even tried to give it to my roommate, and she said that I couldn't pay her to take it. If you like herbal smells, this may be great for you, but I am much happier with the scent of the other bar I got, which was the Mange Too. Besides the smell, this bar is moisturizing and keeps you moisturized for a good amount of time. I just don't seem myself ordering this EVER again.

This is the perfect massage bar to use right before you're ready to hit the hay. The frankincense is strong, but so hypnotic and relaxing that I rub a little under my nose, like Vixx, just to nod me off before bed. You can really smell the balancing sage lift all of the bad energy from the day and cast it aside. This bar may be a little strongly scented for some people, but if you like the scent of Blue Skies Bubble Bar, you will enjoy this heady masssage bar.

Ok this massage bar is amazing! I ordered it online, and never had a chance to smell it or anything before I bought it. If I smelt it in a store, I don't think I would have bought it. The bar itself is VERY strong smelling. It's a very heavy sage smell, and it's kind of unpleasant just like that. But I had ordered it and I didn't want my money to be a waste so I used it anyway, as a moisturizer after the shower. I stuck it in the freezer before hand, and used it right after I got out. I was completely surprised. The smell of the product as it goes on your skin is much more subtle than the bar itself. It's very subdued, and it smelt delicious! It was very moisturizing, I get very dry skin on my elbows, ankles, knees and legs and this bar took care of that no problem. I've also been using it on my stretchmarks from my pregnancy, and they are tightening up nicely and after 2 months of use, I've noticed an improvement in appearance. The scent lasts a very long time, and the smell lingers on you for hours after you use it. I use it every time I get out of the shower. I'd recommend buying the tin for it, because this stuff is very messy in the plastic packaging it is sent in. I didn't buy a tin, so I use a little tupperware tub for it and keep it separate from other products. This stuff has lasted me almost 2 months now, and I still use it after almost every shower. If you like herbal smells and love sage, this is the product for you! You will smell like a herb garden for hours after!

Cosmic Dreamcatcher has spoiled me so much that I really don't even like the other massage bars anymore. The smell is herbal and wild and mystical. I keep one of these in the bathroom and one by my bed for a last swipe over my hardworking hands just before bed -- and the scent soothes me to sleep too!

I live in Montana, high altitude and my skin is excessively itchy dry all over. After the first use of Cosmic dreamcatcher I could already feel a difference. I've used this every night before bed time, I snuggle in my jammies and my skin is smooth and moisturized in the morning. The smell is fantastic. Not too strong and overpowering, just perfect. And my husband loves it too :) I'll definitely get it again.

I'm a very smell-oriented person, which is why I gravitate toward Lush products, and particularly the massage bars. I would never have expected Lush to allow this bar for sale, when they have discontinued much better smelling items.

The scent of this bar is abrasively bitter and pervasively strong. The best way I can describe it is like fumes from burnt plastic.

I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and put it on... hoping it would react with my body chemistry to settle in to a different musky smell. I lasted about 20 minutes before I had to jump back in the shower to wash it off, and find another bar to use.

The worst part is that I bought two... because I was initially intrigued by the ingredient list and was expecting something that smelled more exotic. Instead I recieved something that smelled toxic.

I feel a little bad giving this 1 star but I honestly cannot stand the smell! I thought I would like it as it was described but I have noticed the descriptions are not always on point with what the products truely smell like. I know smells are difficult to describe and it's such a personal preference but to me this has a smokey, bad incense smell that is pungent and strong! Texture of bar seemed good though so if those are scents that you like then go for it.

I really wanted to like this massage bar, but it really smells bad. It smells sort of medicinal and a little like the hot tar that is used to repair roofs. On the positive side, it melts on your skin and is quickly absorbed. It seems to be very moisturizing. Maybe I'll get used to it. This is the first Lush product I haven't liked. My fave massage bars are Heavenilli and Strawberry Feels. Both of those smell absolutely fantastic!

Biggest thing of note about this product: You're either going to LOVE the smell or HATE the smell.
It does indeed have tobacco notes in it. The fragrance combination- tobacco and musky herb- is extremely similar to some Native American smoking mixtures. I wouldn't doubt there's actual tobacco oil in the "Fragrance"- I've discovered it makes my nose itch like crazy, and I'm allergic to tobacco.

I personally don't like the way it smells on me, and I'm allergic to it to boot, but my mom and my boyfriend both love it. I passed it on, no harm no fowl :)

I did not knock down a star because of its fragrance- I took the star away because it's nowhere near as luxuriously moisturizing as other Lush massage bars. It definitely makes your skin softer- it's especially good on rough, cracked areas like elbows- but it gives a more velvety, smooth finish than a supple, moisturized finish on the rest of my skin. It feels good to the touch but my skin does not feel particularly moisturized, and I'd like a product that does both.

I bought this product in the hopes that I would receive an earthy massage bar that smelled like the woods after it has rained, but when I smelled it I literally gagged. It smells like flaming cat butt or burnt rubber. bleh.

Well, when I bought my first bar of Cosmic Dreamcatcher, I thought it smelled a little "different" when I opened up the package, but I used it anyway and I loved it! I think I am on my third one at the moment and I am about to order another. The scent is a bit hard to describe, but I have to say it has a hint of tobacco scent to it....unsmoked tobacco. I generally use it at night, but did use it once during the day and didn't receive any comments - not like the TucaTuca scent....that one gets compliments even in the grocery store! I will continue to use Cosmic Dreamcatcher - I find the scent rather calming. My husband generally uses all the products I purchase, and I think he has used this one as well :-)

I use the Cosmic Dreamcatcher every Sunday night. After a long weekend of late nights I need a boost of relaxation to calm me in order to get ready for the work week ahead. The scent may not be for everyone, but I love it. Not only does it help me get to bed on time but its oils keep my skin smoothe and soft especially around the rough bits like knees, elbows and heels. I recommend this product to anyone with a bit of a wild side but who still has to go to work in the morning.

This product would get an A+++ from me but the smell is so strong and unpleasant that it's un-usable. I tried giving it to my fiance and he didn't like it either. To me it smells like cigarette butts... lots of them.

I bought this partly due to curiosity and partly due to the fact that I love the scent of frankincense (I adore the scent of the incense burned at mass). I was so sad when I actually smelled this massage bar, as it reminded me of a bonfire mixed with barbecue. Had it been only a smoky bonfire scent I am sure I would have liked it, but this just was not for me.

I use this product as a massage bar on my husband's achy back and neck. The product melts quickly and provides enough slip to massage effectively. The scent is really "manly", which is wonderful because he HATES smelling of flowers or food. The oil softens and moisturizes his skin and doesn't leave a greasy, messy, breakout causing residue. As an added bonus, my hands are nice and soft from using this product on him! I will definitely be buying this again.

My boyfriend and I use it on each other. He suffered from wintertime dry skin, while I just like a good back rub. I was worried about the oils clogging pores and causing acne, but neither of us has had any outbreaks since using it!

Highly recommended for those who need a little shove to get to sleep. This isn't available at the Macy's department store LUSH stand where I live so I was excited to try it when I purchased online. The smell is odd but after two nights I look forward to it! It helped me fall asleep and stay asleep, precious!
