Banish brassy blonde tones
One of our founders and product inventors, Mark Constantine is a master trichologist (that’s a fancy word for a hair expert). He created our ingenious violet-scented Daddy-O shampoo for himself, and then decided to share it with those with gray or blond hair, who also want brighter and healthier looking locks, without dull, brassy tones. An infusion of fresh citrus juices and seaweed gives your hair softness and shine, while the violet leaf, rose and bergamot oils create a scent that stays on your hair throughout the day.
- Silver foxes need apply: Created for platinum tones and gray hair, Daddy-O works wonders on all hair types and is lovely on brunettes.
- Va va violet: Violet absolute gives that familiar violet scent and a fresh green note to the shampoo.
- Floral bouquet: Rose absolute, violet leaf, bergamot and cananga oil give our shampoo its lovely fragrance.

Q:About how much should I use each time because knowing me, I'm probably gonna end up accidentally using too much and being rid of it in like a week xD
By the way, the smell is HEAVENLY omg i couldn't stop sniffing my hair when i first tried this shampooAsked on 4/28/2014 by Miley from Los Angeles
A:Depending on your hair texture, length, and thickness, I'd say start with about a quarter size and work from there. Add more if necessary!Answered on 5/3/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:I bought the big bottle and it's lasting for ages! I typically alternate it with another shampoo and use this around once a week. I use enough to get a decent lather going (about the size of one of the lush lip balm tins). I always use way too much shampoo though and have long hair, so you could probably use much less. My tip would be rub it between your hands first to get the lather going then put it on your head and continue to lather up. If you are just applying directly to your hair and trying to lather from scratch I noticed I used more shampoo.
Hope this helps

Q:How many uses of this shampoo can you get out of the smallest bottle?
Answers as soon as possible would be great!!!Asked on 4/26/2014 by Shaniqua Diamondzz from Detroit
A:It really depends on how much you use and how often you wash your hair. A little goes a long way with our shampoos because they don't contain any water, so you can expect the little bottle to last longer than you expect!Answered on 5/3/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:My large bottle lasted through about 75 uses. I have a lot of hair and it's thick, so I thought I'd need to use a ton, but I didn't. It's a great product.—

Q:If I use this together with the Marilyn hair treatment, will they work together to lighten my hair?Asked on 4/25/2014 by Kingsley from Green Bay, WI
A:The Daddy-O Shampoo and Marilyn will brighten dull and brassy tones. It may not lighten your hair but it'll make your hair look healthier and brighter. The brightening effect will make your hair look lighter in a sense.Answered on 5/3/2014 by Jeanine from LUSH Direct
Q:Can I use this hair for brown hair, will it make it lighter?Asked on 11/11/2013 by Lauren
A:You can definitely use this on brown hair! It shouldn't change the color, but if you love the smell, go for it!Answered on 11/15/2013 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:I have light to medium brown hair with natural subtle blonde highlights as
well as having thinner hair. Daddy-O is one of my favorite shampoos from
LUSH for multiple reasons. First off it smells AMAZING! Second, it does
take the brassiness out of the blond highlights and makes them pop a bit
more in contrast to my more brown hair. It also gives my hair a nice
healthy shine. I have used Daddy-O when I had dyed blonde hair and it kept
the blonde looking light and pretty longer. Third, it keeps my thinner hair
super soft and and not feeling like straw (how it use to feel when I used
other shampoos from drug stores). Fourth, it smells AMAZING :) My friends
and co-workers have commented many times over and over how beautiful,
shinny and how great my hair smells ever since I started using Daddy-O
years ago. Every time I mention that I'm thinking about cutting my hair
super short they all get mad at me and tell me," NO! It's too beautiful to
cut!" I never got those kind of complements when I wasn't using LUSH
Hope this will help you out and I recommend trying Daddy-O just once and
see how great your hair looks after using it :)Answered on 11/11/2013 by Anonymous
A:No, Daddy-O doesn't change hair color.Answered on 11/11/2013 by Anonymous
Q:I love this smell! What soaps, perfumes, shower gels, etc smell most like this shampoo?Asked on 9/3/2013 by Lily from United States
A:The main scent in "Daddy-o" is violet leaf. Although nothing is exactly the same as Daddy-o, our most violet based products are Tuca Tuca Perfume, Retread conditioner and Ultimate Shine solid shampoo.Answered on 9/20/2013 by Laura C from LUSH Direct
Q:I was bought this shampoo as a birthday present, but I have coloured bright pink hair, and am worried it may take the colour out if I use it, as it's not meant for coloured hair. Should I use this? The alternative is I just use it as a shower-gel, because it smells incredible ;)Asked on 5/21/2013 by Elliewow from United Kingdom
A:Daddy-O is not specifically tested on colour treated hair, so it's difficult to gauge how it will work for yours. It contains a number of citrus juices and sea water and these are naturally stripping, so it might not be the best option for your hair.Answered on 10/1/2013 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
Q:Is Daddy-O mainly for men? My store didn't have a large selection of liquid shampoo and I bought this one. And I'm a woman! I didn't buy a cake shampoo because they didn't have one for color-treated hair......Asked on 3/3/2013 by Brenda from Dallas, TX
A:Daddy-O is for any gender, and is a fairly neutral scent.Answered on 3/7/2013 by Anonymous
Q:can it also make brunetts hair lighter in color?Asked on 8/9/2012 by camie fannypack from maryland
A:It won't lighten brown hair, but it will minimize orangey tones from the hair.Answered on 8/28/2012 by Megan from LUSH Direct
Q:What kind of lush conditioner should i use with this product?Asked on 8/7/2012 by Kait from Cedar Knolls, NJ

Q:Can I use this product daily or should I only use it when my blonde hair starts looking brassy?Asked on 4/21/2012 by Ms Shopacholoic from Texas
A:Whichever you prefer- it works great on daily basis as the seaweed component is wonderfully softening!Answered on 4/25/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:You can use it everyday, no problem. It is gentle enough to use and you don't need very much to lather your hair. Great combo in a bottle!Answered on 5/12/2012 by Blondieali83 from Phoenix, AZ
