Ever since i first started checking out LUSH I have wanted to try this soap. FINALLY I was able to try it and I quite frankly love this darn soap. I love the way (when i use it anyway) I can smell the apple juice in it coming through with the peppermint y fragrance. The lather isn't AMAZING, but that dosn't mean it dosn't get you clean and smelling AWESOME!

I got this as a gift, and i definitely wouldn't have got this fro myself. First of all, the wax is an unnecessary addition. It looks slightly gross and off-putting, and adds to the price when they weigh it. I found it very hard to peel off, so the black wax came off in chunks in my shower. Also, the smell was sickening. Old toothpaste mixed with the waxy smell, and rotted apples to top it all off. After reading some of the reviews, I couldn't believe that some people actually got a lather out of it. After removing the wax, I tried taking it in the shower, hoping that it would smell better when wet. That didn't work, and it barely created more than a few bubbles. Next I tried rubbing it into a body pouf. It lathered, though I use the term loosely. When I got out of that disappointing shower, I literally felt my skin drying out. It isn't even good enough for me to wash my hands with. Since I'm not the one who spent money on it, I just threw it out. I guess I'll just stick with my usual Honey I Washed the Kids, Miranda, or Sultana of Soap.

So I started stalking LUSH online, and after reading about Demon in the Dark, I had to get my hands on some. I went to the store and fell in love. The bar itself is even kind of dark, mysterious, and sexy. As far as the wax goes...leave some of it on!

I leave a bit of the wax on as a handle. That way, I have something to hang on to so my entire soap isn't lathering at once. The fragrance in the shower is amazing--minty, but with a bit of an apple cider undertone. I LOVE THE DEMON. The question is if I can buy it by the metric ton...

This is my favorite soap. I am in love with the smell of this, and I would gladly spend the money on it. Its unique, makes my skin all tingly after I use it, and is relaxing after a stressful day.

I just recently tried this stuff & I am in love! Dirty has always been my favorite body wash & I love minty scents so I figured I'd give Demon in the Dark a try. The mint in Demon in the Dark is a lot stronger & more "stout" than the mint in Dirty. The smell fills my entire bathroom & lingers for a while & the soap starts giving you that "cool minty tingle" almost as soon as it touches your skin. I just rub the bar on my bath pouf & lather it up that way & use the bath pouf to clean myself rather than straight soap. It lathers & cleans great, & I love the tingly feeling that it gives my skin. I have combination skin & an oily chest & back & Demon in the Dark really seems to leave those areas "squeaky clean". Right now I only use it about once a week because it's winter here & my skin tends to get dry. I'm worried this soap will be a bit too harsh for frequent use on dry winter skin. But I suspect once summertime gets here & my skin is exposed to the humid Kentucky heat I'll be using it a lot more frequently.

My only complaints are that it's not available in liquid body wash form, as the bar soap tends to get used up very quickly. And the wax surrounding the bar was also a bit of a pain in the butt to remove & ended up leaving a few black, waxy smears on my hardwood floor that took a little effort to remove. I guess I'll just have to be a bit more careful next time. But neither of those things are enough to deter me from using Demon in the Dark again & again.

I'd definitely recommend Demon in the Dark to anyone who's a fan of minty scents & doesn't mind getting a cool skin "tingle" while showering.

I love this soap. It was one of the first things i bought from Lush and i'm glad that i did. The scent is fantastic, i find myself inhaling it quite often. The only downside i've found is that it does make my skin dry. Just takes a simple solution to fix that problem. Lotion!

it's an interesting smell, like a masculine spearmint, so I thought it would be good for my husband and I (and the occasional guest) to be used as handsoap. It's fun to look at. It's pretty. It's dark. But that's about it. Not thrilled and will not be buying it again. Smell does not linger, the soap dries out my hands which forces me to put on my lotion, which kills the scent quicker, despite my lotion having no scent. It doesn't lather well unless I wait for my water to turn hot, and that's just hypocritical of me since I'm trying to conserve energy and save money. The soap will, however, get rid of nasty smells that have stained your hand, like onion, garlic, blood. So it does clean, if that's what you're looking for.

Boy, Was I wrong! Its has the perfect level of mints and it really serves an extremely refreshing wash. I use it as a cleanser before I use my mask of magnaminty and they go together wonderfully. I love how my face feels tingly clean after use. Not to mention it looks great on the counter :)

On my first foray to Lush with a friend on a quest to find something that would rescue my hair, I found myself browsing the soap section. This soap caught my eye, and I ended up buying a fairly hefty chunk of it on impulse, and haven't regretted it.

Demon in the Dark smells great, feels great, and hasn't given me any skin problems at all. Most people peel off the wax covering; my chunk of soap only had wax on the back and one side, and since it was good sized piece, I've kept it on as a grip, and it's worked pretty well. I use it all over and leave the shower feeling pretty darn good.

While most people use it as a body/hand soap, I've actually found that it's extremely pleasant to use as a quick facial rinse soap. I don't use it to remove makeup, but often when I'm leaving for work without anything on my face, I give my skin a quick wash and my skin looks and feels brighter, and the smell is a great little perk when walking out the door. I have combo skin, and it leaves me neither too dry nor too oily.

If you're on the go a lot, I would suggest getting a smaller piece to put in a tin or bag- it's a great multi-purpose soap that works in a pinch! I will definitely be purchasing this on a regular basis from now on.

This is my husband's favorite soap...ever. I love Demon, too, though, so I have been known to raid his stash! The scent is so unique that I can't stop sniffing it! It's a nice minty, fresh, energizing aroma that is great to get you awake and ready to face the day. Lathers pretty good, gets you nice & clean, and the scent does linger on your skin for quite some time. Our only con is that it does seem to go a bit faster than some of the other LUSH soaps do.

This was my first lush product. I have to admit I never enjoyed bar soap, so this was a first. The smell is addicting, it makes the whole shower smell fantastic. However, I felt like it didn't last too long once I got out. It made my skin feel a little dry too, but I think it's because I'm new to bar soap. Either way, smells lovely and I definitely will buy again. :)

If you do not like spearmint, you will not like this soap. I do not like spearmint and I do not like this soap, all I smell is spearmint. It is a clean 'unisex' scent, nice option for guys. Nice option for athletic people, you feel clean after using this, it gets all the sweat and oil off easily and skin feels refreshed after. I got a sample, so I cannot speak of the wax because mine didn't have any. The scent is growing on me, if it continues to grow on me, I might buy a bar for post-workout washing (an every day occurrence for me). Like all bar soap, this dries my skin. Scent does not linger for long, a good thing in this case (for me). Lathers the same as other lush soaps. Holds up a bit better than some of the other soap samples I have gotten from lush, lasting me longer even though it is the same size.

This is just a great soap! It's a fun design, with an awesome smell! The tingly mint is the perfect way to wake you up in the morning or calm you down at night. This is the first lush soap that I've tried, and I'm definitely never going back to drugstore soap, which always leaves my skin dry and tight after using. Demon in the Dark actually made my skin feel softer than before I used it. I am definitely a believer. After my great experience with this and several other lush products, you will never catch me using any other brand! Buy this soap and you will not be disappointed.

I received this soap as a sample, and I was eager to try it due to all the good reviews I read about it. I used it in the shower, and immediately fell in love with the smell. The scent is very dynamic, first I smelled the apple woodsy scent and then came the minty scent. I'm not a fan of mint infused body products, but this scent is very dark and very irresistible. Only cons I can think of is that it somewhat dried out my skin and it was hard to get a lather going, but that was probably due to having such a small sample size. I will totally purchase this in the future!!

This product smelled amazing and the scent lasted a while as well. However, when I went to rub my hands together to wash them, my hands sorta stuck together. I don't know what that was all about, but I'm sure to buy this product again!

I got this soap as a sample when I ordered a billion other things off the site, and I LOVED it! It smelled sooo good that all the other things I got seemed average. I really loved the way it made my skin feel so now I'm buying a huge chunk :)

Before LUSH, I was anti-bar soap. Any kind of bar soap. HATED it. Even the fancy, expensive kind left a residue I could feel. But Demon in the Dark was forced on me by a friend, and I am SO GLAD. The smell is AMAZING, so crisp and invigorating and sensual. It lathers really well, especially with a loofah and the smell stays with me for hours (I know some reviewers disagree, but I could smell it throughout the day. That was part of the appeal). The wax is frustrating, but as long as the bar isn't melty or wet when you go to peel, it isn't that big of a deal. And: no sticky residue. Just a pleasant smelling-clean. I love it so much.
