My daughter is a huge fan of anything Lush. On a recent trip to the 6th Street, Austin store, the manager recommended I try using 'Dirty' shaving cream as a leave-in conditioner. My beard is quite long and full. Dirty is excellent! It helped tame some stray beard hairs and smells great. My wife was very impressed.

Wow! This is really amazing! My five o'clock shadow doesn't show up until five o'clock TWO DAYS LATER! My wife not only loves the closest smoothest shave on the planet, but loves the fresh scent as well. At first I was skeptical but I have finally got this fine tuned.
First thing is that I shave in a hot shower. The steam not only lubricates but opens up the pores as well. In order to keep the mirror from fogging, I warm it up under the water for about 30 seconds. I then take a touch of soap (Karma soap rocks!) and lightly coat the mirror.
When applying DIRTY cream, it is not like a foaming shave cream or gel, it is like a hand cream and should disappear into the skin on your face. If you see any cream then you have applied way too much and will cog the razor. A little bit goes a very long way which means it is very economical as well. Let the cream absorb for at least a minute.
I fill a hard plastic cup with water to clean the whiskers out of the blade. Using my other hand, I gently rub the whiskers against the grain just in front of the razor. This allows the razor to grab and cut a little lower down on the hair shaft. Use shorter more frequent strokes, cleaning the razor each pass, until you no longer feel any whiskers. Then move on to the next area.
Any nicks that you may get at first are caused by micro pimples on your skin releasing toxins. Continuing use of DIRTY cream will nourish your skin and the micro pimples will disappear. (It also will help if you don't have toxins in your diet). When you are done shaving, rinse and use a facial cleanser like Herbalism. Continued use of the cleanser will help reduce micro pimples and nicks as well as giving your face a healthy glow. My wife swears I look younger!
I would definitely give the above method a try for 2-3 weeks and see for yourself. I you do, I guarantee you'll never use anything else again!

Finally after years of searching for the shaving cream that is most compatible with my annoyingly sensitive skin, I've found it! Dirty has proven time and time again to be the perfect shaving cream that has completely ridded me of painful and annoying ingrown hairs that have plagued my neck and jawline since I've started shaving! Whether it was adding pre-shave oils, trying different creams, or after-shaves (which gets really expensive) I was somehow still managing to get ingrown's after every shave. However, my seemingly endless search for that one right product has come to a screeching halt since finding this product about 2 months ago.

I enjoy the scent of this product quite thoroughly since it just so happens that lavender and sandalwood are my two absolute favorite scents of shaving cream, so a blend of the two is even better!

While I appreciate constructive criticism as much as the next person, after two tubs of the stuff, I can't find a single thing I dislike about it. Also, unlike most posters, I shave my face with a double edge safety razor so I have had no problems with a clogged razor whatsoever (friendly hint yall).

To put it simply: I will never so much as touch a single blade to my face without Dirty shaving cream ever again.

I dont have a lot of scruff as an Asian male, but this definitely does the job. This is the first product I've used that hasn't given me razor burn or make my skin break out like crazy. I have sensitive oily and combo skin all over my face and this does not irritate any of it. Sadly there is own downside. This clogs my razor like no other.

My boyfriend has tried everything to get rid of the irritation from his razor on his face and nothing seems to work for him...until now! He really loves the way it feels, and I can TOTALLY tell the difference when he uses Dirty as compared to a different shaving cream, his skin is WAY softer! I received this by accident when ordering the dirty hair cream for my brother. Lush fixed their mistake rightt away and let me keep the shave cream and since my brother dry shaves I got to try this out on my hairy and dry winter legs and pits. My gams went from scaly and whiskery to sleek and baby soft in minutes. Also my armpits not only feel and smell good but my skin tone looks better. I almost wish I had facial hair so I could feel baby softness like this on my face,

The only I'm not entirely crazy about is the smell. It is a unisex scent, lots of lavender, but not my cup of tea. It won't deter me from using the product, I'm just not in love with scent. It's a bit too strong for me but it fades fairly quickly.

After 25 years of shaving and fighting ingrown hairs, I found the solution to my longtime problem-Dirty shaving cream. After the first shave I waited for the bump(s) to appear to my amazement-no bumps. It truly works and continues to work as of today.

Works great - gives a great shave and leaves my skin in great shape. Not crazy about the smell (gorilla?), nor the fact that I use a lot of hot water trying to keep the razor flushed out.

WOW!! that was my reaction after using this shaving cream for the first time. It smells great, nice clean manly scent with a slight mint smell. It applies evenly to the face very little is needed. My razor ran smooth over my face with a nice thin layer of this shaving cream. I was left with possibly the closest shave I have ever had. This stuff is great. Best lush product I have used thus far. Absolute must for any guy. Would be a great gift for any guy. Only it may not be for thick beards, since it's not a foam or gel and more of an actual cream.

I have sensitive skin and a tough beard. I have used foam shaving creams for more years than I care to remember. When I purchased some hand cream for a case of contact dermatitis, I was given a sample of this shaving cream. It took a bit to get the right amount to use and it wasn't a whole lot. I rinse my Mach 3 Turbo out often, so I haven't noticed much of a clogging issue.

Here's a hint that someone told me years ago and it works. Take a washcloth and run water as hot as your can stand over it and then place it over the area to shave for a minute or two. It pre-softens the beard and reduces shaving rash and nicks for me.

I have tried so many shaving cremes over the years from Aveeno to Aveda to European brands and I always end up irritated afterwards with razor bumps on my neck and redness elsewhere. I have previously used LUSH products mainly for "recreational" use, like the bath bombs, etc. On a whim at their Chicago [@] location, I decided to buy this.The product has changed how I shave my face. I shave faster, it shaves closer, I have no redness, I feel my face is hydrated when I'm done, it smeels great and works even greater. It is just amazing. It is so moisturizing and soothing that I feel like I just hydrated after shaving. I can't even explain it.As a guy, I have to shave my face every day and this really helps me. It kind of clogs the razor a tiny bit but it doesn't impact the shaving. Instead of filling the sink a tiny bit, I just blast water down the razor to rinse it out. It works really well.

I bought this for my legs because I have sensitive skin that gets dry from shaving. On a whim I used it on my bikini area and I am so glad I did. For the first time I don't have razor bumps and irritation. I will be buying this forever.

I tried this for the first time and I fell in love. It worked great like any other shaving cream but it also protecting very well against razor burn. However, my absolute favorite thing about this product is how moisturizing it is! That is a wonderful thing to have in a shaving cream! Good job guys, once again!

I was convinced this product would be another great invention from Lush but this was not the case. Even though the product smelled great, it was hard to work with. It made shaving twice as long. This shaving cream is thick and even small amount of it clogged up my raisor and washing it off with water didn't help. I had to literarly beat my raisor on the bathtub or the sink to get this shaving cream to come off. It is too much hassle when I can achieve a better result in half the time by using any Lush soap.

This is THE FIRST 5 star ratings I've given to a lush product, so far.
First off I hate to shave my legs. Since my hair is so fine I will often go 2 months without shaving, because I'm lazy & have never been excited to shave my legs- thanks to this product I am now.
It smells great, feels silky, and I love that it's in a lotion form & not a foam!
It didn't leave my legs feeling greasy, and this is THE FIRST TIME my legs have felt that "silky smooth feeling" you're supposed to feel after shaving.
Also the amazing aroma of sandalwood is still lingering as I type this which is a favorite aroma of mine.
All in all I will buy this product AGAIN & AGAIN. Great for sensitive skin!

My husband went with me to Lush and he ended up with this product, I have tried Prince before and this is better than prince. I stole it one day when I was out of shaving gel, so I grabbed this oh wow!!! what a fantastic product, for bikini area, legs i get the closest shave ever when i use this, and it makes me so soft i love this, my husband uses it on his thick, course facial hair and loves it! I highly recommend for men or women!!

My face is the worst of both worlds when it comes to shaving: a tough beard and sensitive skin. Shaving stuff for tough beards usually is irritating, and stuff for sensitive skin usually doesn't soften up my beard well. So, a shave for me often means razor burn afterward.

Not with Dirty...I bought some just to try it, and I'm sold. It smells great, keeps the razor from dragging and pulling, softens up my tough stubble, without any stinging or greasy feel.

The only thing missing is that this product would be great to have in "the big economy size" for my five o'clock shadow that appears just after lunch.

I got this for my boyfriend because he shaves his face everyday and he has no more razor burn anymore! It makes him smell so good after he is done also, and it moisturizes his face nicely since he often forgets to put lotion on after shaving.

If this wasn't a nickname I'd never admit this but I'm a girl stuck with a bit of darker hair on my chin. It's been mortifying me each morning for years now and I'd finally settled on using a rash-free shave cream as the best option to get rid of it but I still ended up with a lot of skin irritation after shaving away those horrible little chin hairs.

I gave this a try because I've had such good luck with other LUSH products and I'm just so impressed with the product. I've been using it for about 2 weeks and a small dime size drop is more than enough for me. The first time I used it I was a bit worried it wasn't a close cut because my chin felt a little oily and sticky in the shower but once I got out my skin looked the best it has in years. Zero redness and no dryness on my chin later in the day. The shave cream has been giving me a nice close cut with happier skin that's in better condition all day long.

If I wasn't so embarrassed about why I use it I'd stop people in the streets to tell them how great this shave cream is.
