When Lush announced that it was coming out with solid toothpaste, I just had to try it. Toothpaste, by definition, does not seem like it can be solid. Paste is not solid! It's a fun, innovative, and unique product to try, and it is obviously travel-friendly, like all of Lush's other solid products. I'm not sure how effective it is as a dental product because I haven't gone to the dentist since brushing with these. It seems to be pretty good at brushing off stains, though. There is a part of my teeth where the whitening strips could not cover, and it worked pretty well on that. You use it as Lush says: crunch up a tab, grab your wet toothbrush, and brush. The texture is very chalky, sort of like Altoids. It is also minty, like Altoids. You get a LOT of lather/foam/whatever you call it out of a single tab, which was surprising for such a tiny tab. When I finished brushing and rinsed my mouth out, I found that my mouth felt really clean. There was no aftertaste, of mint or anything else. Correspondingly, there was no bad breath. All in all, these were fun to try, but I think I'll save them for when I travel. Meanwhile, regular toothpaste works well enough for me -- I can't justify spending [$] on 20 days of toothpaste (40 tabs per box, brush twice a day).

I picked these up thinking they could be good for camping or hiking (low weight, minimal water needed). I still think they could be good for that: you just crunch them up, use a wet toothbrush to sort of work up a foamy lather, and brush for a few minutes. You use very little water, and my teeth felt clean after. However, both my boyfriend and I agreed the taste was terrible, especially when you first chew them up. Thankfully, no aftertaste. I still might use them to camp-you get a lot for the price-but I don't think I will buy again.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
This is really fun stuff. I just started using it. I think the Dirty flavor is amazing. Great and minty. The chalky-ness is actually a plus for me - it's easy to break apart with my teeth. Since I just had my wisdom teeth out, this is very nice since my jaw is still tender. foamed up wonderfully and made my teeth feel great and clean.
looking forward to traveling with it. no more of those liquids for me!

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
Disclaimer: This isn't the only toothpaste I use. But out of the three I use, two are toothy tabs. Dirty is, in my opinion, the best toothy tabs for the more old fashioned. It has a similar taste and feel to classic pastes. It is, however, much gentler.
As a child, my anemia caused my mouth to be inflamed and irritated. As a result, I hated brushing my teeth with a passion. Once I got my anemia and the related inflammation under control, I was left with yellow teeth and bad breath.
Being a young teen then, my fragile self esteem led me to attack both of these with large amounts of at-home-bleaching kits, harsh chemical mouth washes, and the strongest most abrasive tooth pastes I could find. This intense, borderline OCD oral hygiene regimen stuck with me.
Recently, I've started to notice some sensitivity as well as some warning signs of enamel loss. I've tried other tooth pastes formulated for sensitivity, and even a "natural" option. None of them left me with a clean feeling or helped my breath. Until I walked into LUSH to restock on an old favorite and saw these by the counter. I got both Dirty and Chou Chou...I love you. The second is nice for going out because of the unique scent it leaves on your breath. But Dirty leaves a cleaner feeling, in my opinion, and is less gritty.
I suggest drinking a glass of water before using these, because the drier your mouth the less pleasant the experience. Also, chew for as long as you can before brushing (you can add a little water if you need to) or you get a gritty foam and little chunks on your brush and sink.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
When I recently went to the Lush store in Maui, the lady let me try one of these. I was so excited, because I love the concept of this product. But I was VERY disappointed! The taste was horrendous. I don't even know how to describe it, but I could not detect any mint. I think it's great that Lush doens't use any chemicals, but maybe they will have perfected these in a little bit. I am still a huge lushie, and pretty much every cosmetic I use is from them... just not toothpaste!

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
First of all, I wanted to try these cause they sounded fun. But they are SO much more. Personally, I bite one in half and use just half to brush my teeth and save the other half for the next time I brush, which also makes them more affordable as a toothpaste alternative. My teeth feel exceptionally clean after using these and I got no taste of baking soda as I brushed.
The biggest difference I noticed was that once I started using them, I felt like my MOUTH was cleaner too. One weekend I had to use toothpaste instead and each morning, I could not stand the taste in my mouth before I was able to brush. With toothy tabs, I never had that nasty pre-brushing taste.
I know they are pricey, but I feel that they are worth it- I love them and will continue to use them as long as they make them. (But I'll continue to bite them in half....it was PLENTY of foamy suds to clean my teeth with just half the tab.)

I bought these out of curiosity and I pretty much love them. I do admit, these things have a pretty awful taste, but they have made my teeth feeling so much cleaner than any other toothpaste I have ever used. I think I'll be stick with toothy tabs over regular toothpaste.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
I bought the Dirty toothy tabs when it was the only flavor available, mainly because I've never been able to work past toothpaste's texture. While this toothy tab worked for me way better than traditional toothpaste, it really needed some sort of flavor. All I could taste was baking soda. Of the three toothy tab flavors I've tried, this is my least favorite.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
I am really not sure why some people are complaining about the taste because these spearmint ones taste amazing!
Some of the other flavours can take a little getting us to but these were an instant successful and definitely the best flavour to choose if you are making the switch from 'regular' toothpaste as the taste will be familiar.
Not 'chalky' or 'gritty' in the slightest. Foam up really well. Softer to bite into than the other ones and of a finer 'grain' before foaming.
If you like the idea of toothy tabs but tried a different flavour and didn't really like it I really do suggest that you give these ones a try.
I had to go back to using 'regular' toothpaste for a day when I had run out of these and it was horrible! Must not run out again!

Nice change from traditional toothpaste
Pros
- Cleans Well
- Flavor not strong
- Transportable
Cons
- Can be messy
Best Uses
- Braces
- On the go
Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
My hubby and I really like the toothy tabs! We both only use 1/2 tab at a time, which gives a perfect amount of foam. Sometimes I still end up looking rabid. lol. I love the lack of flavor. I usually am not a fan of most toothpastes because of the mint flavor. But this has an ever so slight mint flavor. You can, however, taste the baking soda pretty intensely, which you get used to and it doesn't taste "bad," just odd.
One awesome thing I did fine out is that they are awesome when you have braces! Because I'm supposed to brush often, I can keep them with easily. And the fact that it's a light foam means it's easier to brush because I don't have to fight as much to spit out all of the foam.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
Awesome idea. I use them every once in a while if I don't want to bring everything to the bathroom. [I'm a college student, living in a dorm with a community bathroom] I expected more of a minty taste. As long as you nibble it completely and IMMEDIATELY start brushing.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
Ordered these online with other LUSH products and this was my least favorite. I even asked a few friends to try, and no one was satisfied with them. They were too chalky, not refreshing at all, and I felt like I should just brush my teeth with some toothpaste after I was done. It's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to enjoying these as different solutions than store bought toothpaste. It's still a decent product for lazy Sunday mornings... but I wouldn't recomend this.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
I first tried dirty i wasnt impressed and it tasted bad. I think the longer you leave them open the better the taste gets? Now dirty tastes kind of jasminey to me and I love it. I dont like mint, i dont require the minty burn to feel that clean. These little guys DEFENITELY make your teeth noticebly whiter. Sparkle and dirty are my favs and i rotate them in with my Marvis jasmine mint toothepaste since they dont have flouride Im not sure about stopping my other toothepast all together...but I def would. The tabs also dont ruin the taste of food or drink after you use them and they do keep my breath smelling non offensive for a good while. This is one girls opinion, one girl who has always hated mint toothpaste so I maybe a little biased.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
I bought this thinking it would be great to have for camping or work, but decided to try it at home first. I would still use it for either of the above reasons but not for a daily use item, give me regular toothpaste please! This was very easy to use and foamed up nicely but there was hardly any taste at all. I expected to have a really fresh feel afterwards but it felt almost like I had used nothing at all. I nibbled, chewed, wet, foamed, brushed, spit and rinsed as directed but alas I felt the immediate need to re-brush with regular ol' Colgate right afterwards. I would definitely recommend for camping, or overnight trips but not as a regular cleanser.

Comments about LUSH Dirty toothy tabs:
I have always hated brushing my teeth (but you HAVE to) because the toothpaste flavours are always offensively minty, or overtly cinnamon...but the Toothy Tabs aren't harsh, and leave your mouth feeling super clean. Plus, they have bubbles. I like bubbles.
Incredible for traveling since you don't have to worry about carrying a tube of paste.
