This was my first solid shampoo bar purchased from Lush and I love it! I went out and bought another! I love the smell too! I have long thick hair and doubted that a few swipes would be enough like I had heard about. I was so wrong! It lathers great! The only issue is it makes my hair almost too clean. My hair never gets greasy and I can go days without washing it but if I use too much my hair is literally squeaky clean-no joke it squeaks when i run my hands though it; but it takes out so much of the natural oil from my scalp that my hair replaces it causing my hair to get greasy. Overall a great product i will continue to buy but just be careful not to use too much!

While I really love this, it lathers well and leaves your hair smooth. BUT I think it should be called Dr. Spearmint instead. I did not sense peppermint and was hoping that the peppermint would be tingling and strong to help me with headaches.

I am absolutely in love with smells, especially anything minty. I firmly believe mint can cure most of the world's troubles. I also love Lush's solid shampoos! They last forever if you keep them dry between uses, so even though they may seem pricey, I think solid shampoo's longlastingness makes it cost about the same as regular shampoos. They're just way more fun, and you've gotta love the no-packaging thing!
The lather is incredible, my hair is super clean and shiney, and my nose is happy both while I'm using it, and while my hair is drying. I waft yummy smellies wherever I go. All that said, I was looking forward to trying Dr Peppermint because I'm addicted to mint! Well! If there's any mint in this shampoo, I couldn't tell. It didn't feel minty or smell minty. Bummer. So I went back to my old favorite, Karma Komba. The end.

..I could get rid of my split ends. Honestly, anyone that hates this product probably has naturally dry hair or doesn't use conditioner. I haven't had oily hair since I started using it, my hair used to get oily after a couple of hours. I have almost waist-length wavy hair that I have to wash and condition daily. I don't think my hair has a lot of shine, but there's products for that. I also tried NEW! but it doesn't lather enough for me. My only real annoyance of my hair is the split ends. I love this and would buy it again. I saw reviews about it making your hair grow? My hair already grows fast especially in Summer, but my hair definitely has been growing a decent amount. I dye my hair bright(ish) red. I've never had so many problems with it fading so fast before, but that's something I can get over. Also, my hair is pretty soft.

I was such a skeptic when I first tried the solid shampoos and when I found this one, I was in love. I am a huge fan of peppermint so it won me over right away. And then came the lathering which has given me the biggest lather I have ever had between liquid and bar shampoos. I have very long and very thick hair, I found this works as a great everyday wash. I will definitely keep buying this!

I loved this product. It lasted me almost eight months, even with daily use. I love the fact that there is no packaging to toss in the garbage , and that it needed less storage space. I cringed at the price, but it was totally worth it considering how long it lasted and how much more healthy my hair is now.

This works okay. My hair gets very greasy and this does an ordinary job with it. My hair becomes greasy only a few hours after using it.

I bought Dr. Peppermint to try to compare it to NEW!. This smells close to Demon In the Dark(spearmint) while NEW! smells like peppermint and cinnamon. Both, I thoroughly enjoyed. However, I found that Dr. Peppermint made my hair softer and more manageable. I've also lost the need of using a hairdryer to prevent frizz with Dr. Peppermint. I can now just step out of the shower and go! Two thumbs up!

-Now to play the waiting game to see if it really makes hair grow faster.

Several friends suggested that I try Lush shampoo bars because of my allergy to cocamide DEA and similar lathering agents. I was excited to give these a try, and I loved the smell. It was nice and refreshing with a nice minty smell. I especially found it interesting that there is black pepper in this shampoo, lending a double meaning to the "pepper" part of "peppermint". However, it appears that I'm allergic to an ingredient in this shampoo because my hairline, scalp, and neck broke out after use. I suspect that it's limonene which is sometimes used in household cleaners. I also suspect this is what makes my hair feel somewhat stripped and tangled after washing (although it's nice, soft, and untangled upon drying). I wish Lush would consider offering an alternative 100% natural shampoo for those of us with sensitivities to chemicals.

I was really excited to see this. I get headaches a lot, and I was looking for a good peppermint shampoo. I love all the Lush solids I've tried so far. The smell was what I was looking for here, and I'm really disappointed in that aspect. It was somewhat sweet...so maybe spearmint? But I could barely smell it anyway.

I think it should be called Dr. Spearmint, I was hoping for more of a peppermint kick. But, my hair is soft, my scalp tingled and my hair feels very clean and residue free (had used following snake oil bar).

This Shampoo is the first one in a long time that has not stripped my hair color. I have been a Lushie for many moons now and have worked my way through the solid shampoos. The smell of this shampoo is reticent of the Demon in the Dark soap. At first I was skeptical that it would be drying as I found Demon to be, but it is the exact opposite.

I can use it daily, my dark-dyed hair is still dark and not faded, and I only need the Jungle once a week. I, admittedly, abuse my hair with daily blow-drying and straightening with much product. Dr. Peppermint has left it silky and smooth. I highly recommend this to anyone with dry hair or who processes and abuses their hair on a daily basis.

My first reaction to this product was that it almost smelled a bit like toothpaste, but in a good way. The peppermint isn't too harsh and the pepper gives it a grown-up, more sultry scent. This bar lathers amazingly well but will last you a long time.

This shampoo feels so great on your scalp, and it definitely helps with the health and growth of your hair. Great to wake you up and revitalize in the morning. My boyfriend became so addicted to this while he was visiting that I snuck it in his suitcase when he left (I have enough other Lush shampoos to last me awhile)... I might order another one for myself in the future.

Can't go wrong with this one. Combine with a heavier conditioner like American Cream, as I can imagine this being a bit drying for some.

I never write reviews, but I felt like I needed to make an exception for this one. I've been trying to grow my hair out recently, and after a lot of time on the lush website, decided that this would be my best product for that purpose. [...] Sadly, this shampoo was a total miss for me. The smell was fine (exactly as described) but that's about the only thing that was decent. This shampoo seemed to drain the life out of my hair, stripping it of any volume and transforming it into a tangled disaster. I was shocked, especially since my hair, which is long and in decent shape despite some damage from coloring, responds well to most everything. I gave the bar to my boyfriend, which turned his hair (curly and short and really soft) basically intro straw. I don't know if maybe i just got a bad bar? Is that possible? My experience with this bar almost turned me off lush forever. [...] Go for that one instead, because I think this one went retro for a reason.

I bought Dr.Peppermint to pair up with my NEW! Shampoo bar since I have naturally thin hair that I've been trying to thicken up a bit. The lather is amazing, thus the bar should last awhile and the smell is enchanting...it smells like very strong peppermint with a hint of something else...black licorice perhaps? The only complaint I have is that the first time I used it I was surprised that it made my hair feel like hay. However the second time I used it I paired it up with my conditioner...nothing fancy just a store brand moisturizing conditioner, and I was shocked by the difference. I styled my hair as I normally do and not only was it like silk but I had twice the volume I usually have. So I use NEW! one day and Dr.Peppermint the next, and I now always use a conditioner after. My hair has gotten a lot thicker and healthier since! Can't wait to see how it will look a month or two from now.

I wasn't sure if I should buy this because it only had two reviews, but those reviews were amazing so I took the leap.

I am so happy I got this shampoo bar! It smells more like spearmint to me than peppermint. It has a lingering smell - which is pleasant but not overpowering like some other bars.

I have DAMAGED, curly, dry, brittle, straightened with an iron every day hair. I have been trying to grow my hair out from it's bob so that I can rock curls again. The problem I was having is that my curls were just frizz, and they didn't curl like they used to from all the damage.

Fast forward to the second I got out of the shower after using this product! My curls are back, they look healthy AND I got major volume from this shampoo! I am in love and will be buying again for sure!

Smells great, like demon in the dark soap. You can feel the tingle on your scalp which feels really good! Its a must have for anyone especially if your growing out your hair

When I heard from Mandi's review that this smelled like Demon In The Dark, I had to try it. I LOVE it. It's compared to NEW! shampoo but I think that this is a peppermint smell, while NEW! is more cinnamon-y. It smells DELICIOUS. I have thick oily hair with a dry scalp and it cleanses very well. However, anyone with dry hair might need a heavy-duty conditioner. My hair appears to be thicker but we'll have to see!

WHY IS THIS RETRO????!!?!?!?!???? This shampoo smells just like demon in the dark soap!! if you like the soap you'll LOVE the shampoo!! I have no idea why this went retro, but i better buy some more before its all gone!!!
