As a bloke, I always tended to think that taking a bath, like shaving, was just a functional neccessity.It never really occurred to me, that it could be pleasurable, aromatic, relaxing, theraputic, and soul nourishing.I was more than secptical about the promises this little gift appeared to be making,and it did nothing to bolster my confidence, when it was so strongly recommended by a female friend, who bathes in pink water. I am however open to new experiences, and while I was drawing the bath, I went several steps further,and did something quite out of character, by lighting candles, and playing some soft Classical Music, well in for a penny in for a pound.
Ladies, you should have told the men folk about this before!!!! The aroma was wonderfull, rich,warm,and slightly woody, it lingered on my skin until the morning.The bath water seemed to transmute into a cloudy broth of scented emolliants, I found myself touching my rapidly softening skin just for the pleasure of it.The flakiness on my Legs miraculously vanished, and I drifted off into a deep and dreamless sleep feeling cocooned like child.
Lush was my next stop the following morning, for more Bath Melts, I even bought a pink one, I rest my case.

I read a lot of reviews about this before using it, and I was so excited to use it. I was really happy with the scent, but a bit disappointed with the moisturizing aspect. I started off using just half the melt b/c other reviewers noted that that was plenty, but I ended up using the whole thing b/c I couldn't feel any difference in the water and b/c there was very little froth. There still wasn't much froth after using the whole thing, but I did notice that the water felt silkier. I didn't need moisturizer afterwards, but my skin didn't feel noticeably soft like one would expect with a bath melt. Overall, it was good enough, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Floating Island was the first bath product I've used from LUSH. I am glad to say that I was very pleased with the results. As I placed in the tub it slowly dissolved, making my water milky. It was very moisturizing and for 24 hours afterward my skin felt nourished. I loved the scent, it was very creamy and rich. It was so relaxing, it made me feel like I could fall asleep in the tub right then and there! I would say it would be best to use at night. It left a little residue in the tub by the drain, but it didn't cause any problems. I loved this bath melt!!!

I used a whole melt in my medium sized tub and couldn't smell a thing. It melts nicely and the water felt soft, but my skin still required lotion after the bath and there was no lingering "lush-like" smell on my skin. I bought two so I'll use the next one in combo with a bomb to perk it up a bit.

The smell of this bath melt is both pleasant and relaxing. Also, the size of it is great because I am able to get about three good uses from it (small to regular size tub). After I use it, I can really feel a difference and my skin feels very moisturized and healthy. I wish the smell was a little stronger when placed in the tub, but that may just be bad picking from the pile. One of my favorites!

This has a very mild, creamy, sweet smell to it. I used a half and rubbed it on my skin as the tub filled, and as it melted it made the water soft and milky. I turned on the jets in my tub and it made a crazy amount of bubbles! They smelled SO good! However, I noticed my skin smelled a little like wet dog, and as the bubbles disappeared the bath water was greyish. Ick. Afterward my skin wasn't as dry as if I stepped out of a regular bath but I still needed moisturizer. It has left a pleasant but faint smell on my skin.

To me, Floating Island just isn't a stand-out amongst Lush's many excellent products. Melt isn't as creamy and nourishing as a typical bath melt (it's mixed with bath bomb) but no bells and whistles like a bath bomb. The scent is very mild - kind of nutty, kind of vanilla-y. Certainly nothing wrong, but no real incentives to repurchase either.

The product was very easy to use, and melted quickly; however, I noticed that rather than smelling like sandalwood, it smelled like wet dog, and this was a huge turn off. The water turned a milky color, and it didn't produce any foam or bubble. The only pro was that it does leave your skin soft and smooth. Better used in combination with a bath bomb.

YUM! This smells to die for, no joke. Slight citrus, creamy vanilla....just wonderful. The butters create an ultra moisturizng soothing bath. Great on it's own or sliced into pieces and mixed with bath bombs or bubble bars. Very effective, large size. Makes for at least 4 baths.

I LOVE this product. I also love other bath melts and bombs, but this is definitely my front runner. I can slice it in 4 for conservation or plop the whole thing in for an extra-special bath. It makes my skin so soft and smooth and leaves it with a very delicate, sexy scent that my fiancé loves as much as I do. Every time I treat myself to a bath with one of these, I'm transported to a totally different place.

You need this as a staple in your Lush stash. I love this melt. It's expensive for me because I love to use it with every bath. You can make it last longer by cutting it into two or three pieces, but you get the maximum effect if you use an entire melt in each bath.

This is my absolute favorite product Lush makes. It's amazing... Leaves my skin so soft, smooth, and silky. Smells like wonderful light lemon tea cookies with a little vanilla mixed in. Absolutely wonderful, it there were more stars I'd give it to Floating Island
Also, this is a great value, this product seems huge. You only need to use 1/4 of the cupcake to get the softening effects and the ultra soothing scent.

I bought this product a while ago, and its amazing.! First of all, the smell. It smells like vanilla, and a little bit like lemon meruinge pie! It also lasts A LONG TIME! I've gotten about 5 uses out of hit, and im about half way. AMAZING. With just that small amount, it made my skin super soft and was very moisturizing! I LOVE IT.

i got this because it was suggested from someone on youtube, and let me say one thing....it is AMAZING. I smelt it in the store and it smelled like meruinge, vanilla, and a hint like butterball. This was compared to lemon meruinge pie, and i completely understand why. It also is VERY moisturizing. You also really get A LOT for your money. I have already gotten like 3-4 uses out of it...and I'm about half way through it(: HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I can now answer my own question. Nope its not too much. I tried a bath melt, with a bath bomb, bubble bar, AND Flying Fox body wash! Heck no it wasn't too much at all! I was in Heaven. Skin was so soft.Answered on 5/17/2013 by MNWalls from Indy
