This is a neat product. I primarily use it in the summer when I am doing scientific fieldwork and my days are spent in a hot, arid environment in southern Europe covered in dirt for 12+ hours a day. After a day in the dirt, I want a proper shower and something to clean me. Although it will not exfoliate the dirt out of your skin, the peppermint oils make you feel much much cleaner. Any Lush shower gel will effectively remove oils and loose dirt and debris from your skin. However, this is unique in that if you blow on your skin a little, or catch a rare breeze after a bath while still damp, you feel a bit of coolness on your skin. Any bit of coolness in such weather is welcome. The scent is very clean, rather minty but not saccharine like an edible mint and not medicinal like a minty muscle rub. It is not a masculine scent and you won't smell strongly of mint after you've showered, but you will smell very clean. It doesn't linger long. I don't recommend combining it with woody or smoky fragranced products afterward, but citrus scents work nicely. And a little goes a long, long way. It serves as a bubble bath gel in a pinch too. I LOVE all things mint. So when I made my first Lush purchase, of course Freeze was in it. I live in NC and work in a hotel (most of the time in the laundry room), so after a long day of working in a hot laundry room, I come home and use this. It is so refreshing, and I love that when I take a hot shower, it still gives me chills. The only cons that I can think of is that I wish the scent lasted longer and MORE PEPPERMINT! :D

Words cannot describe how much I love this product (but I'll try). First, you smell the pleasantly refreshing bite of peppermint, but shortly after you get a strong, delicious hit of sea salt on the back of your nose, almost to the point of tasting it. It's wonderful in the shower, and I admit I couldn't stop myself from using it as a shampoo, too. Despite the super-fresh and cool scent, it's very soothing on the skin. This is probably my favorite LUSH product. Nothing makes me feel cleaner.

What is there not to love? Freeze in my opinion is the perfect shower gel to use during the summer. After I shower, Freeze cools my body down with the peppermint and sea salt that send a chill down my spine.I will definitely order Freeze again. I LOVE FREEZE!

I was dying to try this to get the "tingling" feeling that other reviewers described...didn't happen. It smells okay I guess, and it's actually pretty moisturizing. But it just didn't amaze me like I thought it would. I did however use it in the bath with Ice Hotel and liked it.

I was looking for Peppermint Shower Gel when I found Freeze Retro after receiving a Lush Magazine at my Lush Store. I went online hoping to find Peppermint Shower Gel, ordered Freeze and I am sold on it. Although Freeze appears thin, it lathers up beautifully. My Husband uses Freeze too which makes it even more perfect. I am sensitive to many products so I am happy Freeze makes my skin feel smooth, not itchy and is very pleasant smelling. Hope you continue to offer Freeze Retro now that I have found my perfect Shower Gel. Wish you would sell Freeze at my Lush Store. My Grandkids love to go to Lush with Me to "choose a Bubble Bar". I love my Lush Store and the Sales Associates that help Me smell and try new things happily.

I bought Freeze specifically because it was supposedly the liquid-soap form of Ice Blue. I am a huge Ice Blue fan but happen to feel that shower gels last longer than soap. Freeze came, I took a whiff, utterly disappointed. My husband liked it well enough and he used it for 3 weeks until the bottle ran out. I thought the scent was very strongly pepperminty, almost on a medicinal type note. It was not appetizing at all (normally when I use Ice Blue I want to eat myself, I smell so dang good.)

I don't know if I bought the wrong soap, or if this was just a bad batch. Now that a LUSH store is open near me (Salt Lake City, Utah) I am going to go investigate. Nose, don't fail me now!

I first stumbled upon Freeze many many years ago while I was visiting Ottawa during the summer. I forgot to bring toiletries and being from Montreal I had never seen nor heard of Lush before! So I picked up a bunch of stuff and the most memorable was Freeze.
It was SO hot in the hotel! I popped in the shower and lathered up with Freeze and let me tell you!! 8 years later I still remember how amazing that shower was! I felt like I jumped into some kind of glacier waterfall (something silly like that.)
I completely forgot about Lush for a few years after that until we got one in Montreal (There are now several) and I picked up a big bottle when they were doing retro orders for the first time.
It didn't last long because my brother stole it and wouldn't give it back.
So all in all: Highly addicting! Great in hot weather! Don't share (because you won't get it back) annnd... Well it's the only bummer part: It's very drying - But a small price to pay for paradise.

I have had one huge bottle of Freeze for about four years. I'm just now running out, and that says something since Texas summers are unbearable and I use Freeze almost exclusively from June to August.

I didn't think I'd like Freeze when I first got it, because everyone told me it was "manly" but I was wrong (and I don't find it manly). It's a true peppermint scent, but soft, with an herbal edge. The blue color is highly appealing, too. Mostly, this is the only thing that helped make me comfortable in 110 degree weather with an apartment that couldn't cool below 83. Ick. This made life bearable. And in the winter, it will make any cold feel better, even if only for ten minutes in the shower.

If you don't like mint scents, don't kid yourself that this one might be different. It is minty, which is good news for all of us who swoon over a mint scent.

I love this so much. I use it as a shampoo and either Demon In The Dark or Ice Blue as my body soap to wake me up after a long night. It's deliciously minty and leaves a sort of sweet citrus note as it fades during the day. If you like mint or oranges, or even just have a hard time waking up in the morning, you'll positively adore this!

After just finishing up the last of my Happy Hippy shower gel (quite a nice wash as well) I was looking for another great body wash to aid me in my daily Lush shower ritual and after seeing this on the Retro line I decided to give it a try.

When it arrived I was quite pleasantly surprised and its nice refreshing smell. It reminds me of a very pepperminty version of the new Dirty shower gel which to me smells more like a wintergreen so already it was going good for me.

In the shower a small bit lathers up very nicely when used with a loofah. In the shower it was quite tingly and refreshing you could definitely feel the peppermint oil and the aloe doing what they do best.

The best thing about it was after getting out of the hot shower and drying off the cool tingle stayed on my skin for a long time which was awesome since it was like 98 degrees where I lived today!

One final thing I want to add is that even a few hours from showering the nice uplifting scent stayed well onto my body which also caught the attention of some lovely ladies who said the smell was very nice. ;)

I would definitely stock up on more of this as well as recommend it to anyone they know!

We have been using Freeze for years. My only complaint is it isn't available locally in the Lush store. Although, it has forced us to use the other soaps, so I can't complain too much.

We love this product. How it performs, how it smells, and how our skin feels after. By far Freeze is our favorite shower gels of all time.

Someone wrote that it doesn't smell like the Ice Blue, I find it to be exactly the same. We just prefer the gel over the soap.

This shower gel is unparalleled. When you use it in your shower, it transforms your shower into a minty sauna almost. I have gotten so many people hooked on this shower gel, and it will always be one of my favorites. In the bottle, the smell makes me cringe, but once it's on the loofah it lessens into a lovely musky minty smell that I love.
Wakes me up like nothing else can in the morning, and my husband can't stop smelling my neck and arms when I get out, he loves the smell so much. :-)
I've even given tiny little samples out of the bottle to my friends, and several of them are huge fans already.

This is perfect post-workout -- it's refreshing but not drying, and it gives you a little kick/wakeup jolt. I also notice that it seems to get you genuinely clean, which is important if you break out due to workouts. Also, you smell really fresh afterwards!

This is a favorite shower gel for me. It smells so minty and refreshing, but more complex than any other mint shower gel you will find. When you start to lather up in the steamy shower, it is like all of a sudden this cloud of minty-spa steam surrounds you and totally awakens your senses (and clears sinuses)! You don't have to use much to create a good lather, so if you're a mint lover, I highly suggest you try one of these out!
