We use ginger essential oil to warm and spice up Ginger fragrance so it smells like true, crisp ginger (not gingerbread). We combine it with fragrant flower absolutes - mimosa, geranium, rose, ylang ylang and jasmine - beautiful scents which are traditionally used to keep you feeling calm and serene. A touch of juniperberry adds a vibrant, fruity note, just to keep you on your toes. We wanted to encapsulate the excitement of sailing to the Spice Island, tasting ginger for the first time and the feeling you get as it warms your body.

I own (and love) the classic Ginger perfume that was discontinued a while back. I was excited to see it show up again on the Lush website and even happier to see the solid perfume option. However, I just received my solid perfume today and it smells NOTHING like the old perfume. This smells like spicy bubble gum or something, not at all like the old scent, which was a bit flowery and sexy.
Hopefully I can return it. If not, I guess it'll just go in the trash.

I just got this in and don't quite know what to think of it. I bought solely on the 1 review which made it sound absolutely amazing and the fact that it's named Ginger and I'm a ginger. ;D
It's definitely not your typical perfume. It starts out very strong and peppery and kind of mellows into something kind of sharp and clean smelling with just a tiny hint of something sweet in the background. Although it's not what I expected it's definitely growing on me. I tend to like rich warm resins with sandalwood and heavy vanilla and musk. This is much different than my usual perfume, but makes a great addition to my large and ever-growing collection.
If you like spicy/unique scents you should give it a try!

Okay, I know there's the Lust scent - and now there's Love, but this is where the action happens.
Ginger is heady, aromatic and attention-getting. It's nearly always out of stock (waving finger of disappointment) but at the very least you can always buy the sample - it actually lasts quite a while! About a month or so from regular use. And now that you can buy Ginger in a solid - well, that's just more options of enjoyment for you,
But! This stuff is out of stock for a reason, people! It is sexy. It smells like attraction - like the first time you see someone and you're drawn to them...it smells like passion, longing and desire.
The first time I wore this I couldn't stop smelling my wrists. Now I'm back for more.
If you want something that's very come-hither, and sensually demanding, this is it. It's enticing, intoxicating and absolutely worth it. I love a lot of the Gorilla Perfumes, but this one...this is just something else!
