Wet both hair and the shampoo bar. Glide the shampoo bar down the length of your hair about three times (right, left and back). Work into a lather and rinse thoroughly. Follow with LUSH conditioner if needed. Keep your solid shampoo in a cool, dry place between uses; we recommend using a LUSH shampoo bar tin.

Q:Hi there :) I am placing an order soon and am torn between Godiva and Seanik. I have platinum blonde hair that is damaged from all the bleach, yet tends to get oily between washes. I guess I'd classify it as "combination" hair. Wondering if anyone might have some insight on what would be a better option for me. Thanks :)Asked on 12/8/2014 by Brittany
A:I have used both Godiva and Seanik solid shampoos. I have brown hair with
red tones that tends to be dry and fly away between washings. I liked the
Godiva better since it has some conditioner built in and helps with the fly
aways. The Seanik dried my hair out and I had to use a separate conditioner
or else my hair was completely unmanageable. Hope this gave you some insight
and best of luck with your purchases.Answered on 12/9/2014 by kc_train from Kansas
Q:I have very long and thick hair and have to use a conditioner after I shampoo, would this be a good idea to use for my hair? Does it make hair more manageable? I have never tried a shampoo bar before but would like to stop using store bought shampoo/conditioner.Asked on 10/14/2014 by Natalie from Athens, TX
A:You can definitely try a few to see, which one works for you and Godiva t would a great solid shampoo to start with! It does soften the hair, becuase it's a 2 for 1 solid shampoo with conditioner. The nut oils and Shea butter work really well to moisturize hair!Answered on 11/14/2014 by Anonymous
A:I don't think anyone can answer that question for you except you. In my
opinion, I do not think you will be happy with Godiva Solid Shampoo. I have
thinning, dry hair and thought Godiva would be the answer to my dry frizzy
hair and it did not help. The shampoo does smell wonderful and left my hair
smelling great all day. If it were me, I would try a bar and give it a whirl
- you might find you like it. LUSH has lots of shampoos and with some trial
and error you just might find the exact one suited to your hair needs.Answered on 10/14/2014 by kc_train from Kansas
Q:I read that this shampoo bar is good for color treated hair, but I was wondering if any of the other solid shampoos are ok to use on color treated hair? Also, what is best to avoid for hair that has been colored? I have fine hair that is wavy.Asked on 8/22/2014 by Jen from Maryland
A:Godiva is perfect for colored hair because how moisturizing it is. Another great choice would be Trichomania! You would want to stay away from shampoos that have sea salt or citrus like Seanik and Ultimate Shine.Answered on 9/25/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
Q:I have used this product for a couple of weeks. My scalp has become more and more irritated. So much so that my hair dresser even noticed redness. Is this a common problem? I did not have any problems with my scalp itching or hurting before using this product. I have never had this problem with any type of shampoo before. The person that sold my this shampoo said it was gentle and would help my scalp. It has done quite the opposite. I LOVE the body soap I purchased but feel I have wasted my money on the shampoo. Confused and afraid to try another.Asked on 11/4/2013 by Amber
A:I'm so sorry that you had a bad reaction to this product! It may have to do with your particular hair type, as everyone can react differently with certain products. I would suggest checking our ingredients list, there may be a certain one that you are scalp is sensitive to. Godiva is our only product that is meant to be a shampoo and conditioner, so it's recommended that you only use this item a few times a week.
An alternative to Godiva would be our Soak and Float shampoo bar. It is an effective shampoo bar and although this shampoo bar smells like campfires, it is incredibly effective at fighting flakes and soothing irritated scalps!Answered on 11/28/2013 by Anonymous
I have used this product and I really liked it. I had absolutely no irritation from it and my hair and scalp are in good shape. While I have not used it for more than a week at a time (I use it when I travel) I find it to be a great product. Check the ingredients; maybe you are allergic and/or sensitive to one of them. Moreover, I love, love, love all of the Lush products and I have never had an issue with any of them.
Hope that helps!Answered on 11/5/2013 by Anonymous
A:I'm a big fan of Godiva! I've been using it for years. However, because it's a conditioning shampoo I always alternate it with another shampoo and conditioner combo during the week to give my hair a break. I usually alternate with New! shampoo bar or Soak and Float shampoo bar from lush. New! is great for strengthening hair and even though Soak and Float smells like a camp fire it is amazing for your scalp. So I would just limit your use with the Godiva, even though it makes your hair to die for.

Q:How many oz. is this bar? How many oz. are most lush shampoo bars?Asked on 11/20/2012 by Annalise from United States
A:The Godiva shampoo bar is 2.12 ounces. Most of the shampoo bars are about 2 ounces.Answered on 11/22/2012 by Anonymous
Q:Is this solid shampoo good for daily use? Will there be build up if I use it every other day of the week?Asked on 9/1/2012 by Sandra C. from Chicago, IL
A:You can definitely use our solid shampoos on a daily basis, and in my experience, it does not cause build up at all.Answered on 9/5/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:Is this product okay to use on colored/highlighted hair? Which Lush solid shampoo is best for colored/highlighted hair?Asked on 5/8/2012 by Anonymous
A:i have all over color on my hair and have not noticed it stripping my color at all. It's actually improving the condition of my hair which is making my color last longer. I would use american cream conditioner with it though.Answered on 6/8/2012 by Amanda from St. Louis, Missouri
A:ABsolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Godiva is the one for you. Mine was fried from coloring and being in the water for swimming. All this repeated coloring left is dried out and UGH. Yes, this works. It's like your hair starts the healing process. Keep using it. MIracle. Honestly.......Answered on 6/16/2012 by Janey from Arlington, VA
A:Since shampoo is designed to remove dirt, oil, and deposits from the hair, it may fade synthetic dyes over time. That said, the best way to minimize colour-loss is to condition thoroughly to help seal the hair's cuticle. Godiva is loaded with conditioning cocoa butter and macadamia nut oil, so it would much less likely to strip colour than a more intense citrus or salt based shampoo.Answered on 5/11/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:I use this all the time & have very brightly dyed purple & black hair, this will pull the color out of your hair. I don't mind because it makes my hair feel amazing & the smell is beyond incredible. I just re-dye more often as a trade off. If you are using a normal colored box dye (blonde, brown, etc. It probably won't pull the color out, but with the brighter colors the lather turns whatever color my hair is at the time and it does fade the color.Answered on 5/24/2012 by Solstice from Bakersfield, CA
Q:My hair dries out easily, will this shampoo make that happen?Asked on 5/3/2012 by Dats
A:Godiva is very moisturizing, as we use lots of cocoa butter as well as rich macadamia nut oil to soften and nourish the hair.Answered on 5/8/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:I must avoid any products containing gluten. Is this product free of gluten?Asked on 4/16/2012 by Anonymous
A:Godiva does not contain any gluten ingredients.Answered on 4/17/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:Can you use the solid shampoo as body soap as well?Asked on 4/4/2012 by Anonymous
A:While it's best used for its intended purpose as a shampoo, you can use it as a bar soap if you're in a pinch. If you want a body soap designed for the body skin with a similar scent, have a peek at the Lust soap!Answered on 4/9/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:Sure! They are basically all the same ingredients. I use Godiva in the shower in the morning and it works great!Answered on 4/14/2012 by Indy Singer from Mooresville, IN
Q:I am wondering about the "perfume" in the Godiva's ingredient list. Is there a lot? I have really sensitive skin (eczema) and usually have to steer clear of artificially fragranced products.Asked on 2/26/2012 by Anonymous
A:We can use the term “perfume” to legally encompass all of the fragrance components (such as resins, essential oils, absolutes, other fragrance materials, etc) that we select to come up with our signature LUSH scent. In many cases, we do list the most prominent scent materials, particularly if they are part of what makes the product effective. Such as in Godiva, we use ylang ylang oil both for its sensual scent, as well as for its beautiful shine.
We like to start with natural oils and build up fragrances around them, using synthetic materials to support the formulae. The synthetic ingredients we use may be existing components of materials. For example, adding geraniol to a rose and geranium fragrance will tie together the ‘chemical daisy chain’ because both of these natural materials contain geraniol. We also use synthetic musk and some aromas that are impossible to obtain from nature, e.g. for candy scents.
Making perfumes is usually a closely guarded secret to companies – it’s one of the important elements of brand recognition and customer loyalty. There are already many knock-offs of our products in the world and we feel it’s reasonable of us not to publish the perfume formulations.Answered on 2/27/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:It is a strong scent, but a very pleasant one. It smells of real jasmine, unlike the fakey smell of artificial fragrances. I have sensitive skin as well, it does not bother me one bit. Even my fave lush moisturizer has a slight scent, and it is magic on my sensitive skin that reacts against so many things! (It's called celestial btw). If you like Jasmine, I think you'd be good to go trying it!Answered on 3/20/2012 by Brooke the preppy beauty junkie! from Charlotte, NC
A:There is a lot of fragrance, but I believe it is mostly jasmine absolute, so not artificial in the sense of chemicals. But if you're sensitive to scents, maybe steer clear.Answered on 4/8/2012 by dragonflygrrl from Kansas
Q:how long does this bar last on average? like how many washes can we expect...Asked on 1/9/2012 by Anonymous
A:I just purchased this exactly one month ago and I have very, very long hair. Mine hasn't lasted nearly as long as I thought it would, which is disappointing, but my hair is so much healthier as a result. I'd say I maybe have enough for another week? But it is on its last leg!Answered on 5/6/2014 by Endlessly from Minnesota
A:It will last between 60-80 washes provided the bar is allowed a chance to dry after each use. I'd recommend keeping it in a well-draining soap dish to help it last longer.Answered on 1/13/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:Honestly, on average I use a lot of shampoo, so it did not last as long as is advertised. They say that a shampoo bar lasts up to 80 washes. Not so for me. I have long and very thick hair and I like to shampoo twice. I wash my hair every other day, so it lasted me about 30 washes. It will last longer if you have shorter hair or thinner hair. It lasted me just a long as a bottle of shampoo would have lasted, but the results I get from the bar, far exceed that of any bottled shampoo I have tried.Answered on 1/26/2012 by MeliQ from Buena Park, CA
A:4-6 months depending on how often you use it and how long your hair is.Answered on 1/26/2012 by pamperme from San Diego, CA
A:Mine lasted me 4 and 1/2 months and I use it almost every day. It also depends on your hair.Answered on 1/29/2012 by Nichole from Lehigh Acres, Fl.
A:Hi, on average ( using only 3 strokes) it can last between 2 or 3 months. You should expect at least 45-60 or more washes depending on the length and thickness of your hair.Answered on 2/20/2012 by Holliewallie from Texas
A:I have VERY long hair hair but its not thick and I can get 60-80 washes from a shampoo puck, just be sure not to store it near water or heat :)Answered on 4/26/2012 by Candy Rayne from Saint Augustine, FL
A:Mine lasts for 6 months and I wash my hair everyother day. It is short hair, but I don't put the shampoo bar on my hair that's why it lasts so long. I suds my hands, then use that on my hair, rinse and repeat. Woooosh - the shampoo seems to explode into a full head of lather the 2nd time. I love it!!Answered on 3/13/2013 by Erie Dearie from Cleveland, Ohio
