I use this as a spot treatment on acne. The result- redness is reduced and the pimple is gone in about 2-3 days. Even big deep ones. Its great! If you use it every day, it can dry out your skin, so that would be the only negative.

After tireless searches for the right products for my dull, acne prone, oily, large pore! aka a hot mess of a face--- I've finally found the cure! SERIOUSLY! Dark Angels works great to exfoliate and clean (I mean this stuff has strunk my pores and totally improved my skin!!!), I spot treat with Grease Lightning and finish off with Enzymion moisturizer ---which I am obsessed with. Using Grease Lightning even 2x daily gave me no problems (ie. dryness, peeling, tightness, etc.) like so many other acne products out there do! Now that I've used it for just over a week, I already have no need to use it daily! If I see a zit coming, I zap it morning and night and problem solved. It's so silky soft and smooth to use, and you BARELY need any. This lil' magic bottle will last a looong time. (the combo of products - Dark Angels - has greatly contributed to clearing my skin!!!). From a person with cystic acne, I'm a believer!!!! LOVE LUSH and now a forever LUSHIE!!!! p.s. I LOVE that this doesn't smell medicinal either (proactive)! OR stain my clothes like so many benzol peroxide products (ProActive) did. My hubby is also happier that I don't crawl into bed smelling like a medicine cabinet anymore and my kids love when I tuck them in now (NOT smelling like PRODUCTS!). Grease Lightning doesn't really have a scent in my opinion--- and after using my regimen (alternating Dark Angels at night and Fresh Farmacy in the a.m., treating as needed with Grease Lightning, and moisturizing with Enzymion), It's just a nice clean natural smell! From greasy, large pores - dull skin and hormonal acne - after less then a week I noticed smaller pores, clear and bright skin--- it only improves with use! THANK YOU LUSH!

I started using this product to replace my current synthetic acne line. I was scared to switch all my products at once, so this was the first product I transitioned to. I stopped using all of my topical Dermalogia products (2 pm products and 2 am products). I never experienced ANY new breakouts during the switch. This product isn't drying and can be used under make-up.
1 week after successfully using Grease Lightening with no problems, I switched my Murad face wash. Currently I wash with Angels, then tone with Tea Tree water or Eau Roma followed by this (I use this all over my face instead of as a spot treatment). LOVE this product!

This product is amazing! I used to have horrible acne and now, I'm kind of getting it under control, little by little of course! I use this product after washing my face in the morning and before going to bed. I just need a dab on each pimple and the magic happens overnight! It decreases the size of it for sure! I love it!

I am 32 years old, and I've had terrible acne since I was eleven. That's TWENTY-ONE YEARS!! My acne can LEGALLY PURCHASE ALCOHOL in the US!! But it's dying a slow, painful death due to Grease Lightning, and I couldn't be happier. OTC acne medications (benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid) irritate my skin, and prescription medication (I've tried topical and oral medications - everything but Accutane because I donate blood) either irritates or doesn't help. But this stuff... I don't even know how to describe it. I've taken to applying a thin layer over my whole face, morning and evening, and after three weeks, my nose is blackhead-free, and my chin is slowly clearing up (and that will take the longest because I am forever propping my chin on my hand in my graduate classes). The BEST (and grossest) part is that it's the Little Gel That Could - I put it on, and the blemishes just drain and drain and drain - I am going through tissues like crazy mopping up the crud, but I know that means the blemishes are healing. Adult acne is demoralizing in and of itself, but knowing that I am constantly being judged negatively because of it, especially when I literally was NOT able to do anything about it, is soul-crushing. Thank you, thank you, LUSH, for this wonderful product; I will buy it forever.

This product is amazing. I cannot stress that enough. I started using this product about 5 days ago and it has cleared up my acne about 95%. I had a HORRIBLE experience with hormonal acne due to bad birth control. I'm talking huge cystic acne. After trying a sample of this, my skin changed completely. I don't use makeup to cover up my acne anymore because it has calmed down. No more inflamed acne. My face is now smoother and ugh amazing. I use this after cleansing my face in the morning and after cleansing AND exfoliating at night; I use one pump of this on my whole face. If you are desperately trying to find your cure, please try this.

My skin is caught between wrinkles and, apparently, acne. I believe my acne is either stress or hormone-related, but its obnoxious.

I use Cosmetic Warrior Mask every other day, as it tends to make the dry areas and the acne-p rone areas feel better. I use Grease Lightning every day - sometimes twice - and it is clearing up my skin. Slowly, but gently. No angry red splotches from over-drying. I have used many of the ingredients separately, but this recipe works. I love it!

I think this a really great alternative to prescription acne medicines. It's lightweight, aromatic, and just feels so natural (which it is). Despite the small bottle, it lasts forever, which is an added plus. My only reservation on this product is that it hasn't been as effective as I had hoped it would be upon purchase. I still love using it, and it is really great in general, but I thought it might be a little more effective in clearing up my skin according to other reviewers.

I got this for my boyfriend who has bad acne on his cheeks and chin. We've tried almost everything to get rid of it. After any product that has harsh chemicals in it, his skin did not clear up and looked extremely unhealthy. Within days of using this product all his acne was gone only leaving scares from past acne.

I LOVE this product! I use Dark Angels by Lush, and then Greased Lightning. The ONLY thing I don't like about Greased Lightning is that it comes out of a pump, which always gives out too much, no matter how hard I try. You don't need to use very much of this product at a time (which is great as it's a little pricey, though well worth the money!). But I have had acne problems all my life and nothing has worked until now. I've only had these two Lush products for about 2 weeks and my face has completely cleared up. I can go out in public without make up and not feel embarrassed! I feel so confident with my new beautiful skin--LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I'll admit I was pretty scared to try this because most things don't work on my skin but this seems to be working. A friend introduced me to lush and now I'm in love with their products. If you have any doubts just go into their store and they will answer all your questions they're very helpfull for finding stuff that will work with your skin.

Simply, I MUST HAVE THIS! When you let it dry, you can feel the skin tightening and it feels nice; use a moisturizer after. Immediate results (for me), skin looked more balanced almost instantly and controlled my acne. One pump is more than enough. Try it for yourself, pure awesome!

Spot treatment and mini musical in one!

I have cystic acne that I'm pretty sure is turning into a hormonal thing. I normally only get 2-3 breakouts a month, but when I do I turn to Grease Lightning to zap them away.

I only gave it 4 stars because it does take at least two applications before I start seeing results. This may be because the rest of my daily face routine doesn't have much 'acne' fighting. I use Angels on Bare Skin, Breath of Fresh Air and Imperialis in the AM and Ocean Salt in the PM for the rest of my routine.

Overall though, I say it's worth the price because the bottle is going to last a long, long time. It definitely helps with the pain of cystic acne too.

I've always had acne and breakouts but as I get older, I've started to get cystic breakouts as well.This product really helps dry out the cystic acne and heal my skin. I dab on just a little and it covers all of my troubled spots. I then put moisturizer on to keep the skin from getting to dry. Honestly, this is the best spot treatment product I've used. And I've tried a lot of them! Not only is it effective but its budget friendly (a little goes a long way) and it doesn't have harsh chemicals. I actually prefer this product over my prescribed acne spot treatment medication.

I am so pleased with this product. I have very bad acne and I'm always looking for ways to clear it up. I bought this spot treatment and the next day, a lot of my acne had cleared up. It was a little oily for me but that is probably because I have oily skin. Overall, I really enjoy this product!

i've tried everything under the sun (except accutane) for my sometimes-cystic but ever-present acne that started developing 8 years ago, around when i was in 9th grade. i've even resorted to cortisone shots in my face at the dermatologist every few weeks to reduce swelling, but even that was only a temporary relief.

i've been using lush's ocean salt on my face for months just because it left it soft after the super-drying prescription products i've been using. yesterday, i picked up herbalism and grease lightning and i'm not kidding when i tell you i woke up with not a SINGLE BLEMISH on my face. my face has never been completely smooth in the past 8 years of my life, and i only used this combination of products 7 hours ago.

The only con about this product is that it does kind of dry out my skin a bit, but I always use a moisturizer(Vanishing Cream) afterwards so it really doesn't matter. It really helps out with my problem areas. It's a fantastic product.

Forget every other zit medicine you've ever used! This is THE ONE PRODUCT to turn to if you want to clear up zits FAST and do it without spending a fortune and burning your skin!

I've tried just about every zit medicine on the market. I'm well beyond my teens, but still deal with breakouts as if I was in high school. I've spent a fortune on over-the-counter items, doctor recommended products, and those you see advertised relentlessly on TV. Even the most gentle of those products dried my skin, leaving the treated area red and itchy and took DAYS to get rid of the zit.

Grease Lightning is a MIRACLE! The clear, lightweight gel smooths on easily and smells really nice. But best of all, it WORKS! I was fighting a zit for nearly 3 days when I finally stopped into a LUSH store and bought a bottle. That night I applied a little (a little goes a LONG way!) and by morning the zit was GONE. G-O-N-E !!! I couldn't believe it! I immediately tossed nearly $75 worth of other zit remedies in the trash and will never go back to them again! Hands down, BEST PRODUCT EVER!
