I picked this item up after trying the Jasmine adn Henna Fluff Ease with no impressive results. I have always been one for deep conditioning, so when I switched my beauty care over to Lush, I read up about all the hair treatments. The descriptions of the smell of HSWH threw me off, but it's not that bad. To me it smells a little of eggs, a little avacado and some jamsine. That might just be my nose, but it's not bad. When applying it to my hair, I noticed how much easier and less messy it was than the jasmine and Henna Fluff Ease. Upon washing it out (and using my usual Lush shampoo and conditioner) my hair was so soft and shiney! I have short hair - pixie cut - so I can see that that tub would last awhile for me as this is my new deep conditioner.

I don't blow dry my hair but years of daily straightening and lack of care had left my hair pretty dry, damaged, and dead. It's never been colored but I was starting to ask for help from people who damaged their hair that way, to give you an idea.

I had switched from non-sulfate shampoo and conditioner and tried Neutrogena's hair mask (along with other hair masks of similar quality---which is actually quite "good") and all to little avail. I was getting frustrated, even considering cutting my long hair off and starting over, much to my boyfriend's not-so-effectively hidden dismay!

I was AMAZED what what a difference H'Suan Wen Hua made. After just one use my hair is now soft, shiny, much straighter (I think some of the waves were just from my hair being so dry!) and just all around pretty. Yay worthy!

I don't really understand the folks complaining about smell or price. The price is awesome and it smells like olive oil because Lush is almost totally natural. I much prefer this smell to that of chemical flowers or whatever and keeping the scent simple lets the product focus on what it's meant to do.

I was really excited about this product due to the high ratings but I was disappointed. It smells awful and the smell linger in your hair for a whole week. It did absolutely nothing for my hair!!!! I am really disappointed.

I purchased H'Suan Wen Hua with my last online order from Lush. I had previously tried Marilyn, and loved it, but thought I'd sample some other products before settling into a routine.

First of all, I use about a 1/4 of the pot. I have thick, shoulder length hair that I color on a regular basis. I used H'Suan Wen Hua a few days after a trip to the salon, and figured that a deep conditioning treatment would benefit my hair. I use a wide variety of products, mostly Bumble & Bumble, and use a flat iron almost every day.

First, I liked how thick this conditioner was compared to Marilyn. Marilyn is really runny and messy to apply, but H'Suan was a lot thicker, more like a thick conditioning treatment would normally be. It was easier to apply, however, I didn't run a comb through my hair afterwards, which I probably should have done to get it through all the way.

To me, all I can smell is the cinnamon. In fact, it reminds me of the mulled spice potpourri that you get around Christmas time. Which put me in a great mood, I must say (I love the holiday season!). The smell was strong, and I was smelling it all day long... and even got good whiffs of it the second day and a little bit on the third (I shampoo my hair daily). But, again, it wasn't enough to bother me. My hair was soft, shiny, and felt healthy. I honestly have no complaints and think this is a great product.

However, for me, I prefer Marilyn in the end. Every person has a different chemical makeup for the protein in their hair, and I think mine just prefers Marilyn. I will definitely keep using H'Suan Wen Hua, but after I am done with the pot I will probably stick with Marilyn. However, I would recommend giving it a try if you work your hair pretty hard like I do, it definitely will help nourish and treat some of the damage.

I actually started using this as an every day styling product. I am male with medium length, color treated hair with lots of breakaways. I found that if I use a small dab and rub in into my hair evenly it adds volume, increases thickness and improves manageability. when I wash my hair at the end of the day it's super soft and the breakaways are improving! I'm in LOVE and its so decently priced if you consider the results.

I usually leave this on longer than the recommended time, because the first time I used it I really didn't notice a difference in my hair! The second time I used it I noticed a slight difference, my hair was softer and my curls were less frizzy, but the change wasn't drastic.
However I absolutely adore the smell. I know a lot of people are put off by it (I was too when I first smelled it, it reminded me of campfires and pure ginger mixed together) but when it gets rinsed out of the hair, it's so clean-smelling and gingery...I adore it!

I finally learned how to pronounce this today, which is embarassing becdause I've been using this deep conditioner for years. I have thick, oily, color-treated hair, so I have a lot of things I have to watch out for when I buy hair products. H'Suan Wen Hua (SCHWEN WHEN HWAH) is a perfect treatment for me. I use it once a week, rubbing 4-5 big dabs in my hair and then combing it through with my fingers. I usually leave it in for about a half an hour and then I rinse it out before shampooing and conditioning. The way my hair feels after this is amazing. It's like someone cast a spell on it and turned it into silk thread. I will admit, the smell is a little weird, but I've gotten used to it and actually kind of like it now. It smells a little like Italian salad dressing but not as herbal. I would be so sad if Lush got rid of this. It is one of my top five Lush products.

I've used this twice and my hair is dramatically different. I had so much moisture and softness to my hair. I've already noticed a decrease in hair breakage also. I like using this on damp hair while I'm doing a body exfoliation, cleanse, and shave. And then I add in my Curly Wurly shampoo before I rinse out the mask and it makes the most beautiful lathery silky feeling ever. I don't need to use a conditioner after.

I use this once a week on my medium length, wavy, thick hair. Pop it in, read a for a little bit, and then shampoo it out. Holy guacamole (get it...cause there's avocados in there...)! It's an amazing product. My hair feels so soft, there's minimum frizz, it's easy to style, and tons of shine! I seriously can't stop touching my hair when I use this...even my fiance comments about how effective it is!
Definitely will stock up on this to continue to use once a week.

Wow - this mask is incredible. I can forgive it's horrible smell after seeing the results in my hair after just 20 minutes. When I use H'Suan Wen Hua, I take about half a hand-full of product (my hair is long), generously pile it on from the roots to the ends, and then tie it up for 20 minutes. After letting the product soak in, I take a shower. You can immediately tell a difference in the softness and lack of tangles. This hair mask erases the damage from straightening, curling, blowdrying, etc. I've gotten many compliments on the shininess and softness of my hair after using!! Definitely purchasing this again.

First of all- it smells like soup. Which is not so good unless you're into that kind of scents. However, after you've rinsed it out it changes to more of a spicy scent that is not entirely unpleasant. If the smell bothers you from the get go, you will not like this product. I don't use as much as it's recommended in the instructions. Just a decent blob but far from a half or even a quarter of the pot (my hair is thick and reaches halfway down my back) and then i wrap it in foil for about an hour. After rinsing out I use a non- Lush conditioner (gasp!) and rinse again. Even after conditioning with something else I can still smell H'Suan in my hair. Ha! I can actually smell it a week and two- three shampoos later. But as I said, it mellows down to slightly spicy light scent.
Whatever objections you may have against the smell, it's all worth it in the end. The hair is stronger, softer and smoother for a long time afterwards. I will repurchase but I want to try other treatments first. Jasmin and Henna Fluff Ease is on it's way to me as we speak:)))

i went to my local Lush store looking for R&B and they were sold out.. now that was my 2nd time going there looking for it and the store is not that close. But anyhow i wound up taking home a sample of this and that night i took what i had and concentrated on my ends seeing as i have a limited amount and worked my way up f.y.i my hair is to my lower back so whats in that little sample pot is hardly nothing but i went to bed with it and woke up and washed it out. once my hair dried it was so soft and healthy looking i mean even when i tried to double twist my hair in an hair clip it wouldn't stay up because it was so soft! and this is just with a sample!! So i can only imagine a world of difference a whole pot or half of one would do, well either way im going to find out :)

My hair is normally dry, flat and frizzy. I did not use a lot on my first application, I would say I used 1 handful, my hair is below shoulder length. I left the mask on for 30 minutes and then rinsed off. Normally after shampooing and conditioning my hair, I would flat iron my hair to get rid of frizz, thanks to this mask I did not need to use the flat iron, I blow dried my hair and viola I was ready to go. My hair feels amazing, soft, silky, smooth and lots of volume. I am so thrilled that I found this mask and will use it from now on. Highly recommend for soft, shiny, manageable hair! Regarding the smell, it is a bit over-powering, reminds of Noxzema, but since I used to wash my face with that a long time ago, I can tolerate the smell. Personally for me this mask is worth every penny!!!

This smells like pumpkin pie! It makes my hair look and feel good, and I notice a difference. I'm just not sure if there's enough of a difference that I would justify the price for regular use. Approximately 20 dollars for roughly 3 uses is a little much for me. I would be willing to spend that much for something that made a huge difference. It's not horrible, but not great either.

I use as directed, meaning i apply it to dry hair and leave it in for around 20min before heading into the shower to rinse. I love the smell! I know many don't but i think its amazing! I tend to use alot as my hair seems pretty thirsty, so i go through the tub rather quickly which is disappointing.

I LOVED this LUSH hair treatment! I was really skeptical about the product but it really works! It makes your hair silky and nourished and it lasts for a really long time! I have fine, oily hair and it didn't leave it greasy. I didn't have to condition my hair for a week after because it worked so well! The one thing that was a little annoying was the smell though, it smells like ginger snaps, and it stays in your hair. I don't like the smell of ginger snaps, but I WILL be repurchasing again and again. MUST HAVE.

I have literally tried almost every product on the market. My hair has been extremely unruly, frizzy, unmanageable, just plain old disgusting since my last japanese straightening. I have been trying not to get the Japanese straightening done. The Lush ladies gave me a free sample to try, and OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE that it actually made my hair manageable and there was minimal frizz in comparison to before. It dried naturally and it looked like a normal persons hair... The shampoo and conditioner seemed to actually work better after using this product. Obviously, I will buy this because it left seriously good results on my crazy hair. I definitely recommend to try it....you can ask for a sample.

I'm not the biggest fan of the smell. It's not the worst smell I've smelled, but not my favorite either.

But I can put up with the smell because of how soft my hair is afterwards. I've been using this weekly the last couple weeks, and I almost don't need a daily conditioner because of how long the effects last. It also makes my scalp feel amazing. I'm not sure if I'll buy this product again because of the fact that I don't like the smell, but it definitely was worth the buy to try it out.

I was looking for a pick me up for my hair. I have curly hair so the ends tend to be very dry and look fried eventhough I take care of my hair and do not put it through trials and turbulations. I used about half of the bigger container for one treatment. Although it smells horrible (personal taste) and the smell stays on the hair for a bit after I showered, I was inlove with the end result! It left my hair silky smooth and my curls were perfect!

Johntay gave me a sample of this when I was in the shop and he told me it would 'change my life'. I have very coarse, thick curly hair. I'm 52, so my hair is also extremely dry and about 50% grey. They grey hair is even dryer and kinkier than the rest. I've tried dozens of conditioners over the last few years and none of them had any effect.

So I took this sample home and tried it. I applied it to dry hair - before washing - and wrapped my hair in a plastic bag. Waited 2 hours then washed it out.

For the first time in years my hair is soft and the gray actually sparkles! After just one use! I'll definitely be going back for more and can't wait to see what happens after a second and third application.
