This stuff is absolutely amazing! I didn't think I had dry hands, I honestly never paid much attention to them before. But, I'd gotten a sample and decided to try this. My hands are baby soft now!! I will say, the first application took a little while to absorb so it was a tiny bit greasy for a while. But after it had absorbed, and for every application after it's been quickly absorbing. And I actually adore the smell, maybe a teeny bit "old lady" smelling, and kind of strong but that's just personal taste.

I'm a teacher, and so I'm constantly washing my hands. In the summer (when school is not in session, of course), this doesn't cause any problems, but in the winter, my hands get so dry that my knuckles crack and bleed. I used to use another brand of "thick, serious moisturizer" because the regular lotions just weren't enough, but I hated all the artificial ingredients (and the smell wasn't super-good - my dad uses that stuff, and I didn't want to smell like the Dad-smell). I tried a sample of Handy Gurugu and immediately tossed my half-tube of the other junk in a charity donation box (better than the trash, right?). NEVER AGAIN, I am a Handy Gurugu fan FOR LIFE! It works better AND smells better, and I don't have to worry about weird chemicals soaking into my skin - a "win" all around.

This is an amazing hand cream for when you need some serious healing! I deal with an allergy that causes my skin to break badly and the cream that I am prescribed to take care of it dries my skin out to where it cracks, flakes, and burns and it feels horrible. Handy Gurugu makes my hands feel so much better. Start small! You can easily use too much of this product. A little really does go a long way and then you can add a little to spots that are extra dry. My only wish would be for them to sell this in a larger size.

I am a nurse and work at a Children's Hospital. My hands are constantly in water. I've used lots of shea butter products at bedtime with cotton gloves, especially during the winter. But the hand gurugu is by far the best, and I would say healing. It keeps my hands, nails and cuticles in great shape.

Like my issues with Smitten, Handy Gurugu (which my dad bought, not me!) moisturised well after it was rinsed off. Dad got it to moisturise a spot he'd spilled some mystery chemical on, which was completely dried out and cracking painfully, and then I got it when he was healed up. I tried it on my problem spots - it being the dead of winter and all - but it was just too heavy for even my elbows. I wound up using it as foot cream, which is the most ridiculous thing for me to do, since my feet are beyond help. It made them kind of presentable for a while, at least!

My hands were extremely flaky, dry and cracked from constant exposure to cleaning chemicals at work (I work in a cafe). I was surprised when the friendly girl at Lush did not flinch at the condition of my hands and showed me Putty for Your Hands and Handy Gurugu. My hands are sooooo much better. I love this product. I use it on my heels, too. I convinced my co-worker to try this and his "lady-friend" noticed his hands are softer and smoother. If you suffer extremely dry, cracked skin, this is the product to try.

I love this on my hands that get very dry, but I have been having either sinus problems or suffering from a cold recently and have found this very helpful with the dry and excoriated skin under my nose from excessive tissue use. The skin is already less red and dry. I really like the smell and texture of the lotion. It is a little greasy when first applied, but it quickly soaks in. Great product!

The color of the product was a bit of a turn off for me as was the smell, but it was nowhere as off putting as some of the other hand lotions. While Lemony Flutter remains my number one, Handy Gurugu is a respectable second. The scent and color/consistency take some time to get used to, but its a great product that goes a long way.

This lotion is the BEST for people in the healthcare field who wash their hands a lot. I will get small cuts on my hands after washing them all day and after applying this lotion my skin heals up overnight and sometimes in just a few hours. My hands have not looked this good in years!

When the Lush salesperson recommended it, she told me that this lotion felt like it formed a barrier on your skin to protect it from the elements, etc. When I applied it for the first time, it absorbed well but left....not a residue...but it felt like there was a whisper thin glove on my hands. My hands were not sticky but smooth, and the skin on my hands glided across each other. It felt like I applied a really great lotion and a thin layer of baby powder. I cannot really test out this hand cream in really cold weather, being from California and all, but it has kept my hands soft and mosturized. The smell is not enjoyable, but it is not horrible either. This is a great hand cream that protects the skin throughout the day after applying.

My hubby the mechanic got gifted a tub of this- I get really bad winter skin where the knuckles of my right hand only (explain that!?) will dry, crack and bleed. NOTHING has been able to reduce the inflammation or soften the skin- until I tried this. Yes, Ive been glopping it on (comparably speaking) but i has been about 10 hours since the last application and while the skin is starting to show some dryness again, I'm not bleeding, and, just glancing at it, the dryness isnt obvious.

Now, the drawbacks- yes, it is a bit sticky and greasy when first applied- this does generally go away quickly enough. What i really dislike is that the rose oil and rose water makes it smell like the perfume of a blue haired octagenarian!

I bought this product for my husband, but I can't keep my hands out of it! I recently broke my hand and had the cast taken off. The skin was really dry, and the nurse said to be careful using any scented lotions. I remembered I bought this and figured I'd give it a try. I only had to use this a couple of times and my hand was as smooth as silk.

I work in a restaurant and the chemicals that we use there are very harsh and drying to my hands. Add winter to that and my hands become chapped and bleeding my mid October. I use this every night after my shower and before I go to bed and it has saved my skin. The smell is weird and takes some getting used to, but is well worth the moisturizing. It does take about two minutes to sink fully into my skin, but that doesn't really bother me.

This has got to be the best hand lotion I've ever used. Yes, it is greasy and heavy, but give it 5 or 10 minutes to soak in and you'll be in heaven. I have dry winter skin and I work a job where I have to wash my hands often, so this lotion has been a life saver.

I was on my second tub of the stuff before my (fussy) boyfriend commented that he didn't like the smell. He was extra upset after I used his keyboard having applied the hand cream an hour before. I think the smell is fine, but apparently it's not for everyone.

I got a sample of this hand cream about a year ago and wasn't crazy about the smell; I thought it was too herbal and overpowering. I wanted to love it though, because just a teeny amount moisturized my parched, eczema-prone skin. But because of the smell, I ended up ignoring it...Until I got another sample because my eczema kept coming back and I was desperate to find a hand cream that really works for me. I'm sooooo glad I gave HG another chance! Even before the sample ran out, my hands have healed significantly and feel so nourished and rejuvenated! And the herbal scent grew on me -- there's actually something comforting about it, a familiar scent I can't describe. HG is the perfect hand cream for me and I'm confident that with this new tub I bought, I will have happy, eczema-free hands even throughout winter!
