I began using Herbalism about five months ago completely on a whim after trying literally EVERYTHING from my dermatologist to over the counter face washes. I was at first using this every morning and night in combination with creams prescribed by my dermatologist and was seeing results, but not to the point I had hoped.

I decided to try samples of Grease Lightening and Vanishing Cream (dropping anything prescribed by my doctor) and have to say that my skin has COMPLETELY changed. I use an alcohol-free toner after washing morning and night with Herbalism and use Vanishing Cream in the morning before my makeup and Grease Lightening at night before going to bed.

I have had awful acne since I was about 12 and now at 20 I can finally say I have found the perfect combination of products to give me flawless skin. Thank you for changing my life, Lush!

I love this cleanser. My skin is oily, acne-prone, and sensitive. Traditional salicylic acid washes didn't help at all and actually sometimes made things worse. Switching from that to a basic exfoliating scrub and a tea-tree containing moisturizer helped, but Herbalism is even better than that basic scrub. It's not too drying, my skin feels clean and refreshed, and the redness across my nose and cheeks is noticeably reduced.

I like to apply it to my face and let it sit for a couple of minutes before washing it off for a gentle mask effect when my breakouts are worse.

This is my first review on a product EVER! I'm overwhelmed by the transformation it gave my skin and my life! So much I want to write, but long story short. Im 25, come from mexican heritage. Oily ACNE ACNE ACNE skin scars; the works! I was using other products i purchased at the department store that actually help a little but not enough to help me get actually go out and socialize. Until I curiously walked in to lush to get this recommended, and given the price I was paying for the other stuff. this was a steal. My face is 100% clear!!! not one zit in site.. I wasn't sure about it since I did see some reviews saying it smelt bad. But I figured everyone's senses are different and tried it anyways. I got the small bottle, and was a bit confused of how to use it at first, but figured it out quite quick. I find it easier to use at the sink than in the shower because you don't want any water in the tub itself. But I seriously love this product. The scent I think comes with the name HERBALISM, so if you don't like herby or earthy scents, this one isn't for you. Yet, it gave me an exfoliated face feel, and my face feels brand new every time i use it. I follow up with my 9 to 5 from LUSH and a moisturizer and my face feels awesome!

Wow! This cleanser is AMAZING!!! I recently got off a dermatatologist prescriped medication that I have been using for two years. The medicine worked great, but I didn't want to have to rely on this medication forever, plus it was expensive. I went into Lush to get a friend a gift, and I walked out with this cleanser. It has seriously been the best purchase of my life! Using this cleanser, my skin is so much cleaner, softer, and FREE of breakouts. I use this daily even though it is exfoliating, but I feel it is gentle enough to use everyday. I have VERY oily skin and have tried everything to combat my oil. I would go through several blotting sheets a day to try and maintain my oil. Using this cleanser, my face is so much less oily. I couldn't believe it. My makesup looks so much nicer on my face because I have an amazing surface to work with. Herbalism is a holy grail product that I will continue to use. Amazing!!!

Okay, let me start with this.
I have VERY oily, sensitive, severe acne prone skin. I hate myself, and I always hide behind my long hair.
Since I used Herbalism, acne on my cheeks has CLEARED UP and literally, it feels like a smooth paper. I am in LOVE with Herbalism - the best product yet. The other acne medications/products I have used either did not work or made it worse. I'm talking about over the counter, brand name, antibiotics, etc.
I can feel Herbalism work around my face slowly but efficiently. I think I'm in love.

I went to the store with my dad to pick out some stuff I wanted to try out (as a 16th birthday present) and after reading reviews online, I was torn between Angels on Bare Skin and Herbalism. I talked to the lady at the store and told her about my typical teenage skin (oily and acne prone) and how I didn't know which one to try out and she recommended Herbalism because Angels on Bare Skin is more of a general cleanser while Herbalism is more for people with oily skin, so I picked that up along with the Tea Tree Water toner and a sample of Grease Lightning.

So what I do is wash my face with warm water and apply herbalism as more of a paste (beware, a little water goes a long way with this, if you use too much, it becomes runny and drips through your fingers) and after washing off with warm water, your skin feels very soft and smooth. After this I apply 2 sprays of my Tea Tree Water toner and a little bit of my sample of grease lightning. I wanted to get a sample based on the mixed reviews and a little does go a long way with this product as well.

I love how soft and clean it makes your skin feel, even after the first use! I will definitely keep using this product as part of my skin care routine in the future!!!

I'm 30something. I never had acne until my late twenties when I had my 1st child. My youngest is now 3.5, but I still have acne. I've tried everything to get rid of it.

I received Herbalism as a gift, and it was honestly my favorite gift. It makes my skin glow like no other. After using it my skin feels soft and super smooth. After using everyday for about a week, I can honestly say that my skin was immaculate. I've never had much acne at all, but I do usually have one/two pimples at a time. After using this product for a week, no pimples whatsoever. I have gotten a few blemishes since using (fyi I don't use it everyday), but herbalism has really improved my skin. I also really like the way this cleaner smells, very natural. And can I just say, yes, this product is expensive. But boy does it last you! I have the larger 8.8 oz. jar for almost 8 months and I have a good quarter of the jar left even when I use a generous amount every other day or so. This product, for me, was definitely worth it and I WILL be buying again when I run out.

After a good several washes with this, I can soundly say that this product truly cleans my oily face. Unfortunately it brings all the dirt in my pores up to the surface and the residue instantly create new pimples. This is easily avoided when I wash with Dark Angels afterwards.

This cleanser is hands down the best product I have ever come across. Being a 23 year old that still experiences hormonal breakouts, I was sick of the harsh alcohol-based products and ready to go the natural way. I have tried everything--proactiv, clinique acne solutions, origins, dermologica, every over the counter product, etc. The herbalism cleanser reduces the size of my pimples, eases redness, makes my skin far less oily in the T-zone areas, and makes my face feel soft and wonderful. I would recommend this cleanser for anyone that experiences those hormonal breakouts and gets quote oily in the T-zone areas. Thank you lush for making my skin look beautiful!

I learned about this product from my 29 year old daughter which found out about it from a co-worker with extremely troubled facial skin. I'm a 51 year old African American woman who has battled with ache and combination skin all of my life. I have never used make-up and always wanted a natural clear skin tone without the use of make-up of any kind. The dark spots on my cheeks and the dark circles under my eyes developed as I was getting older has been very embarrassing. I received the Herbalism yesterday (03/27/2013) and on the first use my skin felt soft and looked really clean. I then applied the Full of Grace Serum which smells fantastic. The same route was followed this morning and tonight (03/28/2013) and I can really see a difference. The T-zone of oil has minimized dramatically and the dark spots on my cheeks and under eyes are fading. Thank you LUSH for making animal free products that really work. My daughter is also pleased with the product. Placed another order today and can't wait to receive it. The only down side for me is the closest LUSH store to me is in New Orleans, LA and live on the Mississippi Gulf-Coast (1 1/2 hours away) so I will keep ordering on the web.

After trying ultrabland which completely broke me out, I was recommended to try Herbalism. And it works wonders. Great cleanser and gentle exfoliator. Prior to this I could not find a cleanser that balanced my skin as to not have dry, dull skin but at the same time not leaving my skin oily. After using herbalism and Cosmetic Warrior, my skin looked much brighter with just enough moisture left on my skin. Thank goodness. I had used this before and it worked really well, but it got contaminated when I accidentally put water into the container. I think this is what led to me breaking out after about a month using the product. Because up until that point, it really helped to clear my face. A SA from Hawaii was very kind and he gave me a small Lush container to put the product a little bit of time so as to not have the ability to contaminate the entire container. Brilliant idea. I would recommend you asking for a small container as well. Thank you Lush for hiring great employees. And service at Lush is always wonderful. They're so helpful, generous with their time, and patient always.

Herbalism is the first Lush product I ever tried! I have combination, sometimes spotty, skin, and I was looking for a cleanser that would help me in the balancing department. This one really did the trick- after using Herbalism for about a month, my skin already feels way healthier, less shiny, and just overall... better! I can't quite explain it. The only true downside for me was that I was looking for something that would help to control my breakouts- this product definitely makes them less noticeable, but doesn't get rid of them entirely (I don't think it's meant to do that, though). Also, don't use this unless you're standing over a sink or another source of running water (it can get a bit messy). Overall, I highly recommend!

I absolutely love this product . Ive been looking for something gentle but rough enough to get rid of my blocked pores and blemishes and this is the perfect product . I've been using angels on bare skin for a while but it made my skin a bit oily . This product smells a bit weird at first but the smell goes away other than that I am in love .

I discovered Lush about 2 months ago on a recommendation from my boyfriend who has been a big fan for a long time. I did some research on the website and then went to my closest store. While there, I picked up this cleanser. Initially I found that this wasn't the greatest cleanser on its own. It did, however, make my skin feel very soft and somehow allowed me to get out of the shower without my skin peeling from being dry. Here's how I use Herbalism: First I wash with a L'Oreal sensitive skin cleanser. Then I apply Herbalism and massage it around for about a minute. Then I let it sit on my face while I finish showering. I then massage it around a little again and rinse. Since I've been using Herbalism I've noticed a distinct difference and improvement in the amount of acne I've been getting. My skin is also incredibly soft and not dry. (As a reference, my skin is ALWAYS broken out and peeling from dryness at the same time. And I'm 34... this has been going on since I was about 11 and it's just not fun anymore. The joke is old.) I would recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin and acne issues. It does a wonderful job balancing my skin and I'm so happy to have found something that works for me!

I have tried many things to clear my skin and nothing ever really worked. I have acne prone oily skin and the texture and tone of my skin was horrible, always greasy and my skin even looked a bit aged from time to time.
I bought the herbalism after reading some reviews and it came recommended from the staff of lush when I asked what would help my problematic skin.
After just one week my blemishes began clearing up, after 2 weeks my skin was significantly less oily. I am going on week 3 and cannot wait to see what my skin will look like at the end of my one month trial.
I am photographing each week and documenting the progress.

I am also using Greece lightning and the tea tree toner as part of my regiment.

I used this for the first time today and I have to say it smelt horrible. But once I used it my face felt completely free of oil. It did not dry my skin out though, I probably won't buy it because of the smell, but I liked the way it worked

This is heaven in a little black container! I've heard rave reviews about this little green roll of perfection and I needed to try this out myself. I've loved it for so much and I've about used up the first of my black container purchased online. This truly has detoxed my pores and cleansed my impurities. I even purchased a 60 dollar natural skin care kit, but it didn't compare to all the benefits of this little monster! You feel the difference after just one wash! It's best when used in the shower, and I use it routinely day by day. I couldn't have asked for a better cleanser! I will defiantly be repurchasing this and recommending it.
