I received a bar of this soap for Christmas and I've got to say that I absolutely loved it....that was until I read the ingredients. Sodium lauryl sulfate is an inexpensive detergent used in cosmetic cleaners, shampoos, bath and shower gels, etc. It is used throughout the world for clinical testing as a primary skin irritant. Laboratories use SLS to irritate skin on test animals and humans so that they may then test healing agents to see how effective they are on the irritated skin.In the cleaning industry SLS is used in garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car-wash soaps, etc. It is very corrosive and readily attacks greasy surfaces.SLS dries skin by stripping the protective lipids from the surface so it can't effectively regulate moisture.I will only use this product on my hands. The smell is amazing and I love the idea of the honey comb. I really wanted to love this product, however, I prefer a safe product without harmful ingredients. If you are looking for a true natural product, this is not the one for you.

Comments about Honey I Washed The Kids Soap:

I just used this soap for the first time. It smells really good and lathers REALLY well. At first I started just rubbing the bar on my skin and then I decided to try and lather it with my lo-fa. It lathered extremely well. i had so much bubbles. I actually think it lathered a little too much. after i washed it off i felt squeaky clean. the smell sticks to you a tiny bit but not as strong as I would like. Also the bar doesn't disappear quickly like I've read in some reviews. It looks the same as I bought it.

Comments about Honey I Washed The Kids Soap:

HIWTK is a classic soap that all people interested in LUSH should try. It has a soft, yummy smell of toffee and honey. If you have sensitive skin or a sensitive nose, you may want to try HIWTK. My mother has both of the above, and she actually likes HIWTK. Finding something that my mother likes is almost unheard of. She doesn't like to indulge herself commonly. The first time I brought her to LUSH, I could tell the prices bewildered her, especially for the soaps. However, she actually thought this soap was "decent" (a.k.a--I love it and go buy me some more because now you're my favorite daughter)

HIWTK is great at everything, with the exception of two things. One is moisturizing. I'm not picky about moisturizing with soaps; I believe that soaps serve the main purpose of sopping up dirt and grime. However, HIWTK doesn't dry me out, and I have skin that is neither dry nor oily. If you have dry skin or skin that flakes, be prepared to continue using lotion. The other "downfall" for some may be the small amount of lather that is produced. HIWTK produces a creamy lather, the keyword being creamy and not bubbly. In all honesty, I don't understand why most people are crazy about bubbly lather. The lather doesn't get you any cleaner, and it's caused by sulfates and other nasty things. The lovely, natural, and creamy lather that HIWTK gives your bodies is far more luxorious than mountains of chemical lather like a drugstore liquid soap.

As far as the price goes, it's not terribly bad. Do I wince when I pay a decent amount of money for a brick of soap? Well, LUSH is everything in a company that I love. I love their philosophy, their ingredient lists, their products, and their workers and founders, so the real question is: do I want to support all of those thing? The answer is YES :)

Comments about Honey I Washed The Kids Soap:

I love this for my baby and for me. I don't have any problems with this being drying, it is very moisturizing for us but then I don't have extremely dry skin. In fact, I usually use Lush's King of Skin moisturizing bar after I shower and I barely needed it. The smell doesn't linger to long unfortunately. It reminds me a bit of Silky Underwear so I use them together. I am very careful with the usage so I get a lot from this bar. I store it in a ziplock with a paper towel in there and take it out to use a few swipes in the shower and then put back on the paper towel out of the shower to dry. A few swipes is all I need to use as it spreads easily. I won't say lather because it doesn't really do that as many Lush soaps are this way, but it works to clean and moisturize. I love it for everyday use. It's pricey but I use it carefully and don't let it melt.

I bought this as a face soap after reading in Japanese magazines and online about it. So I went in and got a small piece to try out. It works great! The coconut base makes it great for you skin. It moisturizing and lathers well for a deep clean. I'll try using this or "It's Raining Men" as a body soap next.
NOTE: I use a cleansing oil or cleansing wipes to remove foundation and eye makeup before using this.

Comments about Honey I Washed The Kids Soap:

I fell in love with the smell when I went to lush for the first time. Its great because the smell is all sugary and warm but theres a little bit of citrus to keep it crisp.
When I got it, I expected it to be great smelling but also drying, so I was pleasantly surprised that my sking felt progressively softer each time I used it. Its just a nice thing to use after a long day, but also good to perk you up in the morning.
I took off one star because something was weird with the textured honeycomb part of my bar, and part of it had fallen off by the time I unwrapped it at home. Most of the rest of washed away with use, but some of it fell off in the shower. It doesnt really hinder the soap, especially if you have any manner of loofah-type thing, but I could see how it might frustrate someone.
My budget's pretty tight, so we will see how long it lasts before I decide if it's going to be my regular soap or just an occasional luxury. But I really do love it and Im pretty sure I would buy it all the time if I could.

This soap is really moisturizing. However, I always feel really clean after taking a bath. It lasts a about the same as the other average Lush soaps. I keep a stash of soaps and do alternate between them, depending on my mood and if I worked out that day. This is a Lush staple and I will always buy this product. Sometimes I use this in conjunction with some of the the other Citrus scents to tame them a bit.

I never do reviews. But this is the best smelling product I've ever used in my entire life!! It's so addicting! However, it breaks my heart that the smell is very subtle and doesn't last at all after I get out of the shower. I tried It's Raining Man and it seems to linger a little longer, but still quite noticeable.

If you haven't smelled this, you should asap!

This product smelled GREAT in the LUSH store and it got great reviews online,I got it during the buy one get one sale in a gift box. I was thrilled at first, but then I tried it... It wasn't good. My whole bathroom smelled overpowering in sweetness. I would not purchase this again. The soap was very creamy and moisturizing so that was good. But the smell was not good. If you don't like Snowfairy or any other really sweet smells, this is not for you.

The only thing i would like is if it lasted longer, a chunk the size of mine would seem as though it would last long but i was surprised that it did not. Overall, the product is AMAZING and i am going to repurchase anytime i can! I recommend this product to anyone for its buttery aroma, smooth lather, and just perfect moisturizing soap!

I can't get enough of the smell of this soap! I don't really smell honey, more of a toffee caramel smell. That being said, smells good enough to eat! In the shower this soap lathers well and feels very moisturizing. However when I rinsed it off, it left my skin a little "tight", if that makes sense. I think this product would make a great hand soap for sure. Will re-purchase because of that smell!

I was so excited to get this soap in the mail. I have to order offline because the closest Lush is almost an hour away and I can't always drive there when I need a new product. Everyone raved about this soap saying it smells so great but honestly I can hardly smell it unless I inhale very deeply. It has an okay smell but I wouldn't say it's a caramel or honey scent. Just a little bland. The soap also melts quickly and the almost none existent scent doesn't stay on my skin. I would not repurchase.

I literally sat in the shower with my bar of HIWTK just washing myself over and over with it and smelling it. I even ran the bar over my hair to get the smell into it. For those of you complaining that it's not very fragrant on your skin (which is true), this is what I do: just wet the bar and run it lightly over your skin wherever you want the smell (on your arms, neck, wrists, etc.). The scent will last all day that way. Don't even think of buying a small hunk, either. Get a freaking slab of it. It's THAT good.

This soap is my FAVORITE Lush soap. The scent is very warming and comforting. However, when used in the shower it leaves my skin dry. But I do love cutting it up into pieces and using it as hand soap.

Comments about Honey I Washed The Kids Soap:

After a trip to Lush to check out some products with the wife. I told her we should try some of this as a soap for our 7 month old daughter. Of course a big issue is will it irritate her too much if it gets around her eyes or mouth by accident. As a test I had the wet bar by the shower and after having it in my hand decide to be a guinea pig. I brushed it by my mouth, no nasty soap taste that overpowered and even a brush by my eyes and it didn't leave me tearing like I has just watched The Notebook (just kidding, I'm a guy, I've never watched that, right?).

Passed the dad test and maaaaan her skin was so nice and soft after, not dried out and best of all. She smelled better than any overly perfumed baby wash we'd used before. Way to go LUSH!

Comments about Honey I Washed The Kids Soap:

This is easily my favorite soap from LUSH. I LOVE the scent, I can't say enough about it. It lathers really well and leaves you feeling very clean and smelling lovely. The scent lingers long after you've washed with it. The only thing I don't like is that it leaves my skin very tight after showering until I put lotion on it. To be fair ALL bar soaps do this to my skin, not just LUSH ones, so I don't hold that against them. I use the soaps as hand soaps now instead of in the shower. It doesn't skid on my skin at all, so I think it lathers well and is very moisturizing. All in all an excellent product and I'm so glad It's Raining Men came out so I can use that in the shower and get the same wonderful scent! Thanks LUSH!

I love the sweet honey smell of this soap. You can smell it from a mile away without being overpowered by it. It works best as a hand soap because it wears away way too quickly in the shower. One touch of this bar and you have enough soap to wash up a large area. If used in the shower, turn off the water and lather up.

I absolutely LOVE this soap! The smell is amazing and it leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. The sent doesn't last that long, but I don't expect it to from a soap.
I wish Lush made more products with this scent, though. I would buy them all in a heartbeat!

I love this soap, but I have trouble getting much of a lather from it with a washcloth. What is the best way to get this to lather?

I just use this soap straight on my skin and I get a perfect lather with it. If you're using the washcloth for exfoliation, the honeycomb on top of the soap is perfect for that.
