I'd heard a lot about this tint so when I saw it in a display near the register, I made sure to grab one.
When I got in the car, I put my finger on it and I saw the nice rosey pink turned into a bright red. I got a little nervous, but I dabbed some on my lips anyway. It made my lips look like I had just eaten a popsicle! I wasn't fond of that look but I wasn't ready to give up on it yet.
I smoothed some lip balm on and then re-applied the tint. It glided right on and gave my lips a nice pop of a pinky coral color with just a little shine.
I have super fair skin but this it isn't too dark or bright. It's a really flattering color that is perfect for every day wear. Compared to other lip sticks, stains and tints that I've tried in the past, this one is definitely my new favorite.

I love this tint!!! I grabbed it at the last second because it was on the counter and the SA said she loved the color. If I only want a little color I use a small amount (and I mean smmaall amount) a little goes a long way with this!! For a lovely deep pink/red tint I use a little more. It smells delish, like cinnamon and apples and my fiance loves it! For the price it is a def buy, I wont need to buy a new pot for a long time even with multiple daily aplications.

This product is nice enough and the color is very pretty, but I don't understand the gritty texture. I actually don't like wearing it because I feel like I got sand on my lips. Is it always like this or did I just get a weird batch?

I was misled by originally thinking 'With a Kiss' was a tinted, normal lip balm. It isn't. The balm isn't your normal shiny shea creation. This is thicker, more lipstick than waxy balm. The color is buildable and is lovely. You get great color payoff with this, I didn't expect it to work so well. You don't get a ton of moisture and shine but it doesn't dry your lips, either. It works by itself OR with a clear gloss overtop (try Bobbi Brown Crystal Gloss). It smells like spiced apples and makes my breath smell like it, too, so I'll be keeping this on hand when I'm out on a date! I'm a huge fan!

I bought this right after it came out. I really liked the idea of a red lip stain--I'm always trying to achieve that "just ate a cherry popsicle" look. Unfortunately, this was not the product to help me do so. For one thing, I found it to be really drying, and I hate the smell. I also wasn't a huge fan of the color. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's bright pink, not red. I didn't like it on my skin, but I kept trying it anyway, until I read that another reviewer had used it as a cheek stain. I had just run out of blush, so I decided to try it. Gorgeous! I absolutely love it! It's delicate but still noticeable, and so easy to blend. I haven't had any problems with putting too much on--it adds a natural-looking flush without straying into "clown" territory. I wasn't a fan of "It Started With a Kiss..." as a lip tint, but it's now my go-to cheek stain!

Initially, I hated this. My friend gave it to me as a birthday present. I tried it and I could not handle the smell or the taste. The gritty texture was a huge turn off. HOWEVER, I recently decided to try it again, just to see if it would get better after a few uses. Once you get past the top layer, which is very gritty, you will find that the texture isn't gritty at all. It is actually quite smooth. Yes, it still doesn't smell fabulous, it is very cinnamon-y and spicy, but the color that it leaves is absolutely beautiful. If you don't use too much of it, you will barely have a taste with it anyway. The color is gorgeous, and makes it absolutely worth it for me. 4 stars for this.

The worst product I have ever bought from Lush! Either I got a hold of a bad batch, or this lip balm is just truly bad, very bad. Ordered it online, when I received it and opened it up, the smell was awful and still is, tried a little on the lips, and looked like a clown. Hopefully, I can take it back, what a waste of money. The smell and taste is NOT the same as the description. Would have given this product a zero rating if it allowed me. Will not buy again.

I just bought this product yesterday. I've wanted to try the lip tints for a while now but wasn't sure if I'd like them because I don't really like lipstick. It smells delicious, kinda reminds me of red velvet cake. I also use it as eyeshadow and blush. Overall, it's a great smelling, multifunctional product.

When I first purchased this product and tried it, I swiped on an amount that might be normal if you were applying lipstick or something like that. However, the color is extremely concentrated, so you have to be really careful when you apply this not to apply too much! It's described as being bright red in some descriptions, which really isn't accurate--it's very definitely hot pink. If applied with an equal amount of clear gloss, petroleum jelly, etc, the color looks nice, just be careful not to overdo it! It smells sort of like Christmas goodies to me, very sweet and spicy, almost like gingerbread. I don't think I would purchase again, because I have mixed feelings about the Lush lip butters/tints. The reason I wouldn't recommend this to a friend is that a) I don't think any of my friends would go for a bright pink color like this and b) it requires extra work to make sure it's toned down enough to wear, and requires two products to make this one look subtle enough and also moisturising.

It's a beautiful color. It's nice. I'd use it with a regular lip balm. The 'It Started with a Kiss." should be a base then use a regular lip balm over it, to keep your lips moisterized all day long.

I would give this lip tint 100 stars if I could. The scent and flavor are irresistibly appealing and remind me of Lush's "Love" perfume (one of the world's top perfumes and one of my personal favorites!) I love how it's possible to layer "It Started with a Kiss" to give either a warm glow to lips or a full-glamor dramatic RED. Living as I do in a horribly harsh, wintery climate I'm always searching for products that will keep my lips soft and moisturized. Many lipsticks from regular cosmetic companies dry my lips but I can use "It Started with a Kiss" both as a lip color and a lip balm. As far as I'm concerned, this is absolute perfection!

Love the color of this lip tint, gives you that "just ate a red popsicle" look. I like lip tints because my lips are rather pale, this tint gives a natural looking rose red blush. But the smell is completely putting me off, and I'm not sure how long I will use this before it lands in the trash. Mine doesn't have the apple or cinnamon smell others have talked about, it's a vanilla cocoanut smell and overpowering when you open the tin. Seems like it should smell better than it does, but I think I want a lip tint to not have any odor. The fresh cocoanut oil is going to mean this will go bad fast. It is a bit drying but a bit of gloss fixes that.

I just bought this product on a whim one day, when I was picking up a few other things at LUSH, and I was immediately intrigued by this product! I have worn it several times, and it is BEAUTIFUL. You can put a lighter amount on for more of a stain look, or you can put it on a tiny bit heavier and it looks like a beautiful red lipstick! I highly recommend this product:)

I found this lip tint while visiting Lush and was amazed at how much color this little pot gives. It's a lovely shade of pink and can be more dark depending on how much lip tint is applied. I don't know about other consumers but my tint smells pretty good, a sweet combination of apples and cinnamon. It also lasts me a good part of the day and when it wares off, I have a light tint left on my lips. I don't reapply that often at all. The texture is what throws some people off. Please note that the more you put on, the heavier the lip tint is going to feel. The texture is not resembling a lip gloss, but more of a lip stain and if more is applied, it feels like lipstick (which I love and have no problems with). Those who want a lip gloss or a texture like a lip gloss should skip this product. I like variety and not into lip glosses so I love this product and the results it produces.

I loved the color the minute I opened the tin, and couldn't wait to put it on, despite the strong smell, but shortly after applying it, i got a headache, which got worse the longer it was on. I tried it a few more times, hoping it was just a fluke, with the same results. The strong smell gives me an almost instant headache...so to me, this isn't a product where the good outweights the bad.

I had high hopes for this lip tint and am very happy with the staying power and the color however I cant get over the smell of this product. I had several men and women smell this porduct at my work and they all agreed it smelt awful.

I'm not sure WHAT this smells like, but it is absolutely nothing like what the description - or other reviews - have led me to believe! I was immediately disgusted when I opened the tin, but tried it anyway. It did not get any more pleasing to wear and it had a very unappealing, gritty texture.
I wanted to try something different, but I should have stuck with Chocolate Whipstick!

In the tin, this product looks almost true red. When I rub my finger on it to apply to my lips, it turns into a flaming pinkish/scarlet color. It's a gorgeous color and looks good on me (fair skin, brown hair).
It has a hot, spicy cinnamon scent, which I also like. I don't smell anything but cinnamon. As for taste, it has a faintly sweet flavor when it gets in my mouth.
The only thing that bugs me is the texture. It's a little gritty, and the graininess doesn't seem to go away with body heat as I wear it.
