I have very strait hair. It's on the thin side. I have spent tons of money on shampoos that are supposed to deal with oily hair. None were effective. I would wash my hair in the morning and by the evening it looked incredibly oily. I was so frustrated. This solid shampoo is amazing! I do lather, rinse and repeat just for good measure. It lathers very well and you don't need to use much. I can now go 3 (yes, 3) days without needing to wash again!

This product is good. It lasts a really long time. The only thing I don't like is the lavender that is pressed in. I would prefer the bar to have a more noticable lavender frangrance with the natural oils.

I have very oily roots and dry ends so the sales associate at LUSH suggested this shampoo and Jungle conditoner (to use on my ends, which I had already been doing).
I was using Soak & Float before, just because I liked the smell and my hair was sort of just blah.
After a couple weeks of using this shampoo though, it started becoming less and less greasy and now I can wash my hair 2-3 times a week without having to worry about it getting disgustingly greasy after one day like it used to! As an added bonus, it smells DELICIOUS. My friend was with me when I bought it and she kept saying she wanted to eat it!

I really, really wanted to like this shampoo!! It has really good reviews so I'm not sure what the deal is, maybe I got a defective bar, haha. I have very oily hair. I always have to wash it every single day, and it still gets pretty oily. I had high hopes that with this shampoo, that I could maybe get away with washing every-other-day. Didn't happen. It got my hair clean enough-but no cleaner than any other shampoo I've tried (and I've tried a lot). My hair did seem a bit dryer right after I'd wash it, but then got oily just as quickly as it always does. I tried rubbing the bar on my hands, then my head. When that didn't work, I tried rubbing the bar directly on my hair, which also didn't work. I'll use the rest of the bar, as, like I say, it works just as well as any shampoo, but I won't be buying it again unless somehow it starts working much better. I'll stick with my $2 bottles of shampoo from the grocery store. I'm bummed!!!!

My hair was so oily, and I was washing it at night to find it oily again in the morning. I bought this yesterday, used it last night, and was actually surprised to find it completely oil free!!! It was probably the most clean it had ever been, too. I didn't really think it would lather that well, because I had always used liquid shampoo. However, it produced a great foam and cleaned amazingly. A little bit goes a VERY long way. Smells great, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a very oily scalp, but it may be too strong for anyone with a dry or normal scalp.

I purchased this bar to help with oiliness. I occasionally have to work 24+ hours at a time and my hair smells terrible and is so greasy after a long shift. With that in mind, I thought this bar would be perfect. The first time I tried it out, I thought my hair was actually greasier than usual. After using it more frequently (I never use it daily), I find it does control the oil more than my regular shampoo, plus it smells so great that my whole bathroom smells of juniper!

At first I was a bit skeptical of using a bar of shampoo on my hair. I've used liquid shampoo my entire life so naturally I was a bit confused and unsure of how this product would work. All of my fears and questions were COMPLETELY obliterated after my first use.
I had NO idea that I could get so much lather out of a solid shampoo! My first time was astounding (partially because I wasn't expecting it to work well and also because I over-applied it to my hair). I literally had a merengue of foam on the top of my head.
Apart from totally flooring me with the lather output, this did wonders for my hair. I have very thin, very oily hair that kind of just hangs there flatly AND and itchy scalp so I usually have to wash every day. This fixed everything. My oil problem noticeably improved after the first use, there was more volume because it stripped all of the dirt and oils out, my hair had a nice luster to it, and I had no itching problems all day. Thanks to this, I can now go a day without having to wash my hair. :)
On the downside, this does have quite a bit of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in it so it does dry out my ends if I don't condition right after, but I can deal with that. I wouldn't recommend this to people with color treated hair since it will most likely strip out your entire dye job.

I was skeptical when my product first arrived, but I am now a believer. I love the way JJ cleans my oily hair. Never been happier with a shampoo and I believe my search is over. I will definitely become a repeat customer.

So when I first went into the Lush store I saw the solid shampoos and the woman working tied to talk me into buying this bar because of my oily hair but I was put off because it was a bar and thought how could this clean my hair...

WELL.... I got into the shower with this for the first time it was AMAZING! It was probably one of the best shampoos I've ever tried. I just wish the smell was more prominent.

I heard that this shampoo was very effective for thoroughly cleansing oily hair, and I was excited to try it. I enjoyed the smell. It effectively cleaned my greasy hair and kept it clean all day long (I usually shower in the morning and have greasy hair by the evening). Unfortunately after two days of use I broke out in the worst hives I've ever had all over my face, ears, neck and chest. Apparently I'm allergic to Juniper. Just a word of advice, if you suffer from seasonal allergies you may want to approach this product with caution. Not many products contain Juniper oil, and this may cause a similar reaction for someone else.

I've been using mine for about 3 months and I'm not anywhere close to being done with it. Great value, environmentally conscious, and cleans very effectively. I have oily hair and liquid shampoos would just make it worse, but I haven't had any problems since I've been using the bar.

I just purchased this at the mall tonight when my friend was looking around. It was my first Lush purchase, and I had been thinking about the shampoos for a while. I purchased this in conjunction with the conditioner solid and one of the Toothy Tabs (in the Earl Grey tea flavor... dalish!) I just used all of the products, and this shampoo made my hair smell like I'm lying in a bed of lavender and other assorted calming flowers. I can't stop smelling my hair. I'm happy that it actually retained the scent when it dried, which I find many shampoos don't tend to do. The scent is fairly strong, so if you get headaches easily from scents like this, I don't recommend it. If not, definitely enjoy this! I don't think I'll ever go back to buying any other shampoos and conditioners except the awesome (and vegan!!) Lush products.

I really don't understand what went wrong with this shampoo. My theory is that there is sometimes some consistency issues with Lush products. I've used the New shampoo bar with the Jungle conditioner with success, but wanted to switch it up as I love lavender as a scent. Jumping Juniper did something awful to my head. It lathered great but had a very odd smell, nothing like lavender. I could tell just by rinsing it out that my hair felt very coarse. I used a ton of my Jungle conditioner to no avail. Getting out of the shower, my hair has never been so tangled and dry (while wet!!!) in my life. Seriously, it just took me 20 minutes to comb my hair and while I was combing it I could feel it doing that "stretching" thing. I'm also afraid that I pulled out most of my hair in the process. Maybe I got a bad batch?

When I first heard of solid shampoo I was a bit skeptical, but also curious. After trying one of LUSH's bath bombs I went to a store and bought several more items to try. This was one of them. I was surprised at how well it lathers and lasts. I was afraid it might fall apart when I got it wet, but it holds together very well. I was told a little bit goes a long way and boy were they right! I can lather a little bit onto my hands and then run it through my hair and it lathers a ton more. I LOVE the smell and my hair feels SO lightweight and healthy now! This product is now a staple in my shower routine!

This is amazing. I have been wanting to find a shampoo that helps with oily scalps. And this works great with oily hair/scalps. This has solved my oily scalp issues. I love this. <3

This was my second solid shampoo bar and holy cow this one is amazing!! I use to use Ultimate Shine but my roots are too oily for it but I loved the way it made my hair feel but this one is hands down my new favorite. It left my hair super soft and clean without totally striping my hair. The smell is strong but it's not over powering witch I really like

This shampoo is amazing. I was washing my hair twice a day to get rid of oil until I found this stuff. It lathers surprisingly well. It smells good in the shower, but doesn't stick with you all day and interfere with your perfume. I already bought two more bars to stock up.

This is the first item I ever bought a Lush product and I think this is what hooked me up with you guys.
Before Jumping Juniper my hair was a mess. I have extremely greasy hair and I need to wash it every single day because in less than 24 hours it is already getting weird. Washing it every day was damaging it. Besides, I even had pimples in my head.
Since I started using this shampoo, I was amazed with its deliciousness. My oily head problems are gone, pimples are gone, the smell is perfect too. My hair is even healthier and shinier than ever.

Love love love love love this solid shampoo! I have very hard water which leaves my roots greasy and my ends frizzy! It's terrible since I have never had problem hair before moving to this house. After trying very harsh wet shampoos, vinegar (which worked but made my hair smell like salad for two days-yuck!) and even astringents to minimal results, I tried a solid shampoo for the first time ever and OMG!!!! I love this Lush product. It gets my hair super clean and shiny. Now I have my good clean hair back and I don't have to deal with the harsh chemicals in those other shampoos!
