Q:I noticed that the third ingredient is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate — do you think this could be used as a cleansing conditioner?Asked on 7/2/2015 by Emme
A:Sodium Lauryl Sulphate helps trap the oil based dirt from the hair, allowing it to be rinsed away, so it will definitely help cleanse the hair! Fruit juices will also help remove excess oils.Answered on 7/4/2015 by Anonymous
A:Wow! As soon as I saw the question was about SLS, all I thought about was my sensitivity to SLS...around my mouth, and that I have to search high and low for toothpaste without SLS!
More to the point though, I have never had trouble with SLS in hair products (probably because they are not in contact with sensitive areas like the mouth and nose)...but in the process, I researched SLS a lot. This chemical is added to health and beauty products to lower the surface tension of the water and other ingredients. The result is lots of foaming (cosmetic only) and some unbinding of lipids (I.e., cutting grease). So in that sense, you could say it might act as a bit of a cleanser, but I suspect the amount of SLS is small (third ingredient) and included to help produce nice foam!
BTW Lush, there are moves to restrict SLS in several European countries (because of sensitivities), so think about where you ought to go with this chemical in future products.
In any case, I love the Jungle Conditioner, though I only use it when I travel....

Q:Seriously, HOW do you use this? I warmed it in my hands, I slid it over my hair... and I'm honestly surprised I have hair left after trying to comb through after rinsing. Am I supposed to leave it on for a long time? Is there some secret I'm missing?Asked on 3/13/2015 by Chet
A:No, that's pretty much how you use it… there is no secret. Much like the solid shampoo, the solid conditioner is much better suited for someone with shorter hair… If you have longer hair, like I did when I used it, it pulled a lot and it didn't condition like I hoped it would. I usually ended up substituting regular conditioner on top of the solid conditioner… as much as I love lush, this is one product I only ever purchased once because it just didn't condition like my super thick hair needs.

A:You must run it under warm water first. Moisten the bar under warm water, and then slide it gently along the length of your wet hair in long, top-to-bottom strokes. Massage it in with your fingertips as you would a conventional conditioner. Rinse thoroughly and revel in the results.Answered on 3/21/2015 by Alexander from LUSH Direct
A:What I do is rub rub rub it in my hands in the shower till some of the
conditioner gets on my hands. Then, DONT RUB THE CONDITIONER BETWEEN YOUR
HANDS, just spread it through the ends of your hair. And re till you think
you've had enough. Then let it sit and rinse only a little bit. :) hoped I
helped love. Have a wonderful day!Answered on 3/15/2015 by Anonymous
Q:how many uses does this work forAsked on 3/1/2015 by ames
A:The Jungle conditioner can be used for 10 - 30 washes, depending on how you use it and how much you use. The best way to use it is to put it directly on your hair, but you can also take a small piece off and turn it into a paste to directly apply to your hair.Answered on 3/21/2015 by Emily from LUSH Direct

Q:Is this product gluten free?Asked on 1/9/2015 by Olivia
A:Jungle doesn't contain any ingredients with gluten in them, however, our products are all made in a facility that does contain these ingredients. If you have a severe allergy we wouldn't recommend using the products, as there is always a slight chance of cross-contamination.Answered on 2/13/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:I am in LOVE with the way Jungle smells. I want to smell like this all the time! What are some other Lush products that have a similar scent?Asked on 5/12/2013 by JHaltz from NJ
A:Jungle is a very unique scent and we don't currently have any products that smell quite like it. However, if you like Jungle, you may like the dramatic scent of R&B as well!Answered on 9/26/2013 by Brandy from LUSH
Q:Do you have to use the whole product or can you cutt it up for prolonged use and less waste of product?Asked on 12/20/2012 by Anonymous
A:you can definitely cut up the product if you wish to do so. Because it has a creamier texture it is very easy to portion off.Answered on 3/7/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:I have a severe allergy to kiwis but it's a fairly recent discovery (4 yrs or so), long after the last of my last sliver of the Karma solid conditioner I used to buy ran out (I've confused this one w/ that one in a review until I read the ings.). I badly need something to moisturize my thin, dry hair (I have Lupus) & dry, itchy scalp. Wld the kiwi in this make me have a reaction?Asked on 10/13/2012 by iluminameluna from Slinger, WI
A:We would strongly advise against using any products that contain ingredients that you are allergic to. We have some great liquid conditioners that don't contain any kiwis, so I'd have a look at those instead to be on the safe side.Answered on 11/1/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:how can you prolong use of the conditioner i'ver only used it twice and it already finishedAsked on 8/30/2012 by cath from uk
A:Depending on the amount you use the Jungle is should last for quite a while, as it takes time for the solid bar to melt down. To help preserve it for as long as possible its best to store it in a dry, cool place when not in use as it contains coco butter, an extremely hydrating but meltable ingredient. A drainable soap dish is ideal.Answered on 8/30/2012 by Anonymous
Q:Is this conditioner good for color treated hair?Asked on 5/25/2012 by Anonymous
A:I would use it on color-treated hair that is not severely damaged. I have colored hair, but it's colored with temporary non-ammonia dyes. I am not sure with blonde or bleached hair, but I would definitely give it a try.
Use it with Godiva. I swear this product works!Answered on 6/14/2012 by shoejunkie from AL
A:While Jungle isn't specifically designed for colour-treated hair, in my experience I have not found it to be stripping, as it is meant to help seal down the hair's cuticle to give shine and protect the hair.Answered on 5/31/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:Does this have the same scent as karma komba solid shampoo?Asked on 3/12/2012 by Anonymous
A:Jungle isn't the same scent as Karma Komba, and it has a tropical fruity and slightly floral scent. It's quite unique, and I smell a bit of sandalwood, lots of green and floral notes.Answered on 3/13/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAnswered on 3/17/2012 by Jen the lushy from Metuchen, NJ
A:It does not, though I wish it did ;)Answered on 4/4/2012 by Sarah from Boston, MA
A:I don't find them even slightly similar. I hate the smell of Karma and love the smell of Jungle.Answered on 4/24/2012 by Lizzie from Ontario
A:No, but it does smell really good. It does have the same type of smell as far as being sort of earthy and warm, but it smells nothing like Karma. I love Karma, and I love this, so I would suggest you try it (:Answered on 5/29/2012 by Little Misses Wayson from Middle River, MD
Q:Would this fit in one of the Lush solid shampoo tins?Asked on 1/6/2012 by Kati
