Solid conditioner for fruity, well-behaved locks

Tame your mane with our solid fruity conditioner filled with an abundance of fresh fruit and conditioning cocoa butter. LUSH co-founder and inventor Helen Ambrosen was the first person to make a solid conditioner work. She discovered that cocoa butter will slide onto your hair to make it softer, and then dissolve in water to leave it smooth, shiny and de-tangled. Jungle feels rich and hydrating on the hair and leaves you with a fresh, fruity fragrance after washing it off.

Features

  • Vitamin K: Kumquats are rich in calcium and vitamins, including vitamin C, which has antioxidant properties.
  • Made by hand: Fresh bananas and avocados are mashed into every batch to condition the hair.
  • Dual purpose: Our preservative and packaging-free solid conditioner also doubles as a shaving cream for your legs.

This is THE BEST hair product I have ever used, no joke. I'm usually not that enthusiastic about hair products after using so many useless ones, but this stuff has done wonders for my long, thick, dry/oily, can't-decide-if-it's-wavy-straight-or-curly hair. This conditioner gives me nice, soft waves with no effort and it smells great for ages. I've found that after using it, my hair doesn't get oily as often and so, I don't need to wash it as often.

TIPS ON USING EFFECTIVELY- The key to making this conditioner work is using it properly, which can be confusing because it's solid. What I do is scrape off the softer underside of the conditioner and smash it into my palm until it's a paste. After you've used it and left it in the shower, the side it rests on will be mushier then the exposed side and that's the stuff to use. You can also cut it up into little pieces, put them in a bottle and pour hot water over them. It will thicken and end up like a traditional conditioner.

Sorry for the long review, but I seriously can't say enough good things about it. Also, it is SO well priced and it lasts a LONG TIME. I bought mine 2 months ago and I have only used maybe 35% of it. I use it nearly every time I shower, so maybe 4-5 times a week. Hope this helps!

I'm a huge fan of Lush's solid Shampoos and received this conditioner as a gift. I had some high expectations for it but unfortunately, it didnt hit the bar. I have long, thick hair and this conditioner, when I add ALOT to my hair leaves it somewhat soft and clean but only on my scalp area. The rest of my hair ended up very dry, became brittle and now I have split ends.

I assumed the problem with this was that I wasnt applying it properly so I tried mashing a little up and watering it down so it would be easier to spread but no dice. The same thing happened with my ends and my hair is still brittle. Surprisingly my hair feels softer BEFORE I apply this conditioner than after. I think I'm going to stick to Lush's liquid conditioners and, though this one smells amazing, is a great concept, I wouldnt buy it again unless they improved their formula.

    Comments about Jungle Conditioner:

When I first used it I could barely notice that it was on my hair, and it made me nervous that nothing was happening! Even though I rub it onto my hair more than three times, I can barely feel the work it was doing. Nonetheless, I am really impressed by this product! My hair clings to water and when I am forced to blowdry it without air-drying it first, it will be very resistant and end up feeling like straw by the time the dryer does its work. This conditioner is a great defense against the harshness of blow-drying, leaving my hair ridiculously soft afterwards. The scent took some getting used to, but now it's almost a comfort to me.

I'm a new Lushie and I've seen videos on YouTube about LUSH products. I got interested in LUSH because they are against animal-cruelty, fresh, and handmade. I've never had the chance to go to a LUSH Cosmetics store because there was never one near me. But now there is and I finally got the courage to go to one. I got some bath bombs and bubble bars and I really wanted to try and get one of their hair products. The solid hair treatments looked really cool to me, so I picked out Jungle. I just used it for the first time and at the beginning, I was having troubles lathering it up. So I just let it sit in my hair in the shower and when I started to wash it out, I realized how soft and smooth my hair was. Not to mention how much I LOVE the scent. This product is SO AMAZINGGGG! I love it already. My hair is dry and thick and this conditioner is already making my hair smooth and shiny. AND MY HAIR SMELLS SO GOOD! I highly recommend it!

        Comments about Jungle Conditioner:

After using Karma Bomb shampoo bar I figured bars weren't for my hair. I went in to the store to get a new hair product on a whim and ended up with Jungle bar and Fair Trade Honey Shampoo. The sales associate explained how to use the bar by rubbing it over the hair or breaking off a piece and mixing with water. I have tried both, it doesn't really "break" so I scrape it but it never really gets to a consistency that I can run through my hair and I feel like it is just washing away. I have tried rubbing it all over my hair, with color treated, thick curly hair, it just made a tangly mess. I rinsed it and worried it was going to be painful to brush so I sprayed some No More Tangles in it and combed it out. After drying it was soft and shiny but without the spray I am not sure I would have got a comb through it.

While I have a hard time using it as intended on my hair in the shower, I do LOVE using it to shave. I also took it with me to the beach, wet it and ran it through my hair then pulled it up for a day in the sun. After rinsing I had fabulous smelling, soft curls. It may not be the best conditioner for daily use but it has it uses if you love the smell like I do, you can find ways to use it.

I really didn't like this - I'm still using it but it takes a lot of time and energy. It's not like a shampoo bar - I can't just swipe it through my hair. Nothing comes off. So I have to flake off some peices and rub them into a paste with really hot water and friction, and it is just a hassle. Too bad, it does make my hair feel nice, but it's not worth the trouble

            Comments about Jungle Conditioner:

I have used many conditioners over the years, as my hair is naturally very thick. I have it layered, which does help, but I use a straightener and often a blow dryer, so my hair needs nourishment. For the past year and a half, I've been using Redken, which has worked well and I thought my hair was at the peak of it's performance, so to speak. About two months ago, my boyfriend introduced me to Lush, and bought me the Seanik shampoo, which I instantly fell in love with. Recently, I ordered the Jungle to give it a shot. I had read mixed reviews on this site, so I decided to see how it would work for me, as that is the only true way to know what a product will do. I was SO pleasantly surprised! First, I find the use rather easy, actually. Basically, I make sure my hair is nice and wet, then part it in equal halves down the center of my scalp. Holding the bar in one hand, I place my other hand on the opposite side of the strand of hair I'm working with. Then, I simply slide the bar down my hair, adding a bit of pressure, repeating the process till my hair is covered. I typically start about 2 to 3 inches from my scalp. Usually, I let the conditioner soak in for a good 5 to 10 minutes, but it is best to do that for all conditioners, I have found. The bar also melts easily, so that helps to get the conditioner in your hair. It is considerably lighter than most typical conditioners, which I am very pleased with. It does not weight down my hair in the slightest, yet keeps it smooth and very, VERY soft. The incredible softness and the glorious smell were the first things I noticed as my hair dried. The best part is the fact that my hair doesn't feel gunky. A lot of other conditioners and smoothing products make my hair feel nasty after a few weeks, just coated with junk and weighed down. Another great thing is that this conditioner is easy to localize to the ends, as the roots really DON'T need conditioner anyway! My hair also stays free of tangles far easier than with other products I've used. The biggest thing is figuring out exactly how much you need to use in order to properly condition you hair, but I think I have found the perfect amount. Again, that is typical for any product, figuring out how much is truly needed. I will definitely keep using Jungle, and I HIGHLY recommend this product!!!

After reading the reviews I had high hopes for this product. However, it was the first Lush product that only disappointed me. I have long hair, and not only did it not condition, it did nothing at all. I even tried to use it to condition my legs for shaving, and again it did nothing. It smells nice, but I have no use for it otherwise.

I bought Jungle mainly for the scent. It smelled amazing and I happened to be running out of conditioner at the time. I decided to buy it. The first time I tried it, I followed the directions of running it down my hair. I found that was not effective. I tend to take cold showers and I read a comment here about hot water, so the next time I used much warmer water and grated little pieces off with my hand/nails. That was much more effective. It's difficult to use, but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot better.

The next time, I decided to grate the bar and mixed it with HOT not boiling water. This was amazing. It feels a lot different than convential conditioners, but it made my hair unbelievable. It smells so good and my boyfriend even says my hair feels soft, which is a first for my hair type. Thanks, Lush!

My hair just smells like clean hair.

I use this along with my Godiva Shampoo. I have very thick, long, curly hair and because of this I have to run Jungle through my hair a bit more in order for it to feel conditioned but I really don't mind.

After shampooing with Godiva I then use Jungle all over, making sure to run it across every inch of my hair while running my fingers through my hair at the same time to detangle it. I let it sit for a couple of minutes while I do the rest of my shower routine and then I wash it out. It leaves my hair very soft and tangle free (though I usually have some tangles just because my hair is curly).

All in all I am very happy with Lush's products so far and am quite addicted.

When I first used this conditioner I was a bit disappointed because it had left my hair feeling like I had used no conditioner on it at all. I couldn't even run a brush through my hair after my shower. My hair is damaged and color treated so I blame my hair and not the product, but I loved the scent so much that I still regularly use it and plan on getting more when I run out. I just run it through my hair (and sometimes use it as a leave in conditioner) after using a deeper conditioner so that the scent of Jungle stays in my hair all day! So although it doesn't really suit my hair type, I've still definitely found a regular and effective use for it!

When I first got this, I wasn't sure about the smell, its sweet but a little earthy too. I now LOVE the smell and love when I catch a whiff of my hair during the day. The best way I've found to use it is to scrape some off into my hand, and add water until its a paste, then apply to my hair. I have long, kinda fine, highlighted blonde hair, and this seems to moisturize without weighing it down. My only issue is that it really doesn't detangle my snarly hair at all, so I have to mix a little bit of other conditioner in so I can get a comb through my hair.

I have long, very fine hair that gets VERY oily. I was pretty skeptical that I could use something with cocoa butter on my hair without it getting really greasy by lunch time, but this stuff is pretty amazing. I barely need to run it over my hair and my hair is super soft after using it. Smells great with Karma Koomba!

                                            Comments about Jungle Conditioner:

I bought Jungle and Soak and Float together and I had never used a solid shampoo or conditioner. It was much easier to use than I expected. My hair is really thick, dry, and curly, so I rubbed it all over my head more than the recommended few strokes, and lifted up my hair to get it on my scalp. Then I just barely rinsed, leaving some of it in. I normally do this with thick, heavy liquid conditioners to keep my hair moisturized.
The results: my hair is noticeably softer and has a nice shine to it, but is a little more frizz and fly-away prone, I think due to the lightness of the product. I like it but would need to supplement with something thicker and heavier occasionally.

This is my second time using this product, and that being said, I am positively overwhelmed by it's great performance! I have used hair products from Kerastase, Fekkai, Morracan Oil, Pureology, and more high-end, trendy, top name brands that have all performed below the quality of Lush Jungle hair conditioner. Bottom line is I had low expectations for it and it delivered above and beyond results: smooth conditioned hair, light fragrance, and manageability in a very compact package! As for the fragrance of the conditioner bar it is potent upon first sniff but after using and drying hair the scent fades into almost a masculine smell that is not overwhelming at all. For reference my hair is color treated, waist length, blonde, fine and very thin and I had a very hard time finding any products that made my hair feel "healthy" prior to the jungle conditioner !

The smell of Jungle is amazing. But now that my hair has some length to it, the conditioner is useless for me. I have read a bunch of different ways to make it easier to use-make it melty, mush it into a paste. I want to conditon my hair, not do science projects.

I wish that there was a liquid conditioner with this fragrance. That would be my favorite Lush product ever!

I bought this because I love the solid shampoos. I have long, tangly hair and this just doesnt help it. It smells great and I tried to love it but it doesnt detangle my hair at all and is not as moisturizing as the liquid conditioners. It is hard to apply evenly and rinse out. I wish lush could make a liquid conditioner with the same smell because I love its earthy, green smell!

you can definitely cut up the product if you wish to do so. Because it has a creamier texture it is very easy to portion off.

I badly need something to moisturize my thin, dry hair (I have Lupus) & dry, itchy scalp. Wld the kiwi in this make me have a reaction?

Depending on the amount you use the Jungle is should last for quite a while, as it takes time for the solid bar to melt down. To help preserve it for as long as possible its best to store it in a dry, cool place when not in use as it contains coco butter, an extremely hydrating but meltable ingredient. A drainable soap dish is ideal.

I would use it on color-treated hair that is not severely damaged. I have colored hair, but it's colored with temporary non-ammonia dyes. I am not sure with blonde or bleached hair, but I would definitely give it a try.

Use it with Godiva. I swear this product works!

While Jungle isn't specifically designed for colour-treated hair, in my experience I have not found it to be stripping, as it is meant to help seal down the hair's cuticle to give shine and protect the hair.

Jungle isn't the same scent as Karma Komba, and it has a tropical fruity and slightly floral scent. It's quite unique, and I smell a bit of sandalwood, lots of green and floral notes.

I don't find them even slightly similar. I hate the smell of Karma and love the smell of Jungle.

No, but it does smell really good. It does have the same type of smell as far as being sort of earthy and warm, but it smells nothing like Karma. I love Karma, and I love this, so I would suggest you try it (:

It's a little too tall when you first buy it. After a few uses, though, it should fit fine.

Yes, definitely! Because they are handmade, sometimes there is a bit of size variation, but mine fits perfectly in my shampoo tin. :)
