Mask of Magnaminty
Makes dirt a distant memory
Mask of Magnaminty isn’t technically a daily ‘facial wash’; it’s actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads of aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe. Our inventors created Mask of Magnaminty to be the ‘ultimate face mask’, intense but not harsh or abrasive on the skin. We recommend using Mask of Magnaminty weekly to keep the skin in good condition.
- No need to refrigerate: Mask of Magnaminty contains an effective blend of deep cleansing oils instead of perishable ingredients.
- Suitable to most skin types: Except for those sensitive to peppermint.
- Deep cleansing minty mask: We blend bentonite gel into our recipe to clean the pores deeply and tighten at the same time.

Q:How do you know if the product has gone bad? Mine isn't suppose to expire for another 2 months, but when I opened it yesterday, there was some kind of liquid inside, and after leaving the mask on for 20 minutes, it was still fresh. It didn't harden like it usually does. Is this product still safe to use?Asked on 10/17/2014 by Xiomara from United States
A:It is perfectly fine to use, that liquid is more than likely just water. The same thing happens to mine and it still works wonderfully!Answered on 11/14/2014 by Anonymous
Q:So I bought the 11 oz, I didn't realize it has the expiration date when I was at the store. When I got home, I saw that it was made in July 2014 and expired in November 2014. So I have a month to finish this big jar which is impossible. So can I still use it when it passes the expiration date? Because it'll take a couple of months to finish the big size.Asked on 10/15/2014 by Ngan from United States
A:No it is not recommended to use it after the expiration date. You can defintley take it back to the store and see if they have a later date that you can exchange it for!Answered on 11/14/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Does this product initially cause breakouts?Asked on 10/7/2014 by Anonymous
A:I had no problems with breakouts when I started using this mask - it's
super wonderful! If anything, your breakouts (if you have any) will start
to clear up once you begin using it.Answered on 10/10/2014 by Anonymous
A:None of our products should cause breakouts and when they do, it usually means that the product is just not suitable for the skin. Sometimes, the skin may react to a new product but the reaction should not be severe and last for a long time. If breakouts persist, we certainly advise you to discontinue using the product.Answered on 10/8/2014 by Anonymous
A:Not from my experience! If anything, it always seems to instantly calm my skin.

A:It didn't for me and I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin.Answered on 10/7/2014 by Anonymous
A:No, at least it did no such thing with me. It's a really enjoyable mask
especially for colder months coming up.Answered on 10/7/2014 by Jiannama from NY
Q:I bought this product 2 years ago, and discovered it in the back of my bathroom closet. I was wondering if I can salvage it and still use it, or if I should throw it away?Asked on 8/23/2014 by Lindsay the hoarder from Westminster, MD
A:Our Mask of Magnaminty only has a four month life from the time that it was made. We don't test after those four months so can't guarantee its safety. I would definitely throw it away.Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous
A:You should throw it out. There's not really any preservatives in there that will make the product last that long. If you do decide to use it, be prepared for nasty breakouts. Plus it might've gotten moldy. So its a no-go.Answered on 9/10/2014 by Lushgirl24 from Phoenix, AZ
Q:How often should I use the mask? Everyday, every other day, once a week?Asked on 8/3/2014 by Abby from Yokosuka, Japan
A:Mask of Magnaminty is very deep cleansing, so it is best to stick to using it once or twice per week!Answered on 9/25/2014 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I use it once a weekAnswered on 8/3/2014 by Anonymous
A:I use mine once or twice a week. I absolutely LOVE this mask. I like to use
it before bedtime. The mint in it is so refreshing that it makes my eyes
tear (I have sensitive eyes) so before bed is ideal for me so I'm assured
my eye makeup won't be ruined by my watery eyes during the day. I put it on
for about 15-20 mins, then scrub off. It's going to act as an exfoliant
when you wash the mask off. But the mask itself is not harsh to the skin,
so feel free to use 3 days a week or 4. But I realized using it 2 days a
week works best with my skin. Hope this helped!Answered on 8/3/2014 by Jiannama from NY
Q:is it recommended to be used once everyday?Asked on 6/11/2014 by WelbyJ from Los Angeles, CA
A:We recommend using it once a week to give your face a good deep clean.Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous
A:I use it once a week and it works perfectly, my skin type is combination,
no acne prone skin and very sensitive.Answered on 6/11/2014 by Anonymous
Q:I recently stopped by a lush store because I am suffering from back acne and facial acne. I purchased this Mask and was told to use it a couple of times a week. I was also suggested to purchase dark angels and fresh pharmacy. I'm just not sure which order and frequency I should apply the products??? Please help!!Asked on 6/5/2014 by JGo from Houston, TX
A:In general, deep cleansing masks are best used 2-3 times per week, as they are meant to pull out any dirt and oil from the skin, and are a little bit intense for daily use. As for the two cleansers, either/both of them are appropriate for daily use, but it may be best to start with Fresh Farmacy on your face and Dark Angels on your body. Dark Angels has more of a scrubby texture to it, so try it out on your body first to see if you like how it feels, and feel free to use it on your face if you are happy with the exfoliating properties.Answered on 9/23/2014 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I haven't used the Fresh Pharmacy, but I know from using Dark Angels it can be a little harsh. If you have sensitive skin, I'd say go for the Fresh Pharmacy. Mask of Magaminty is definitely gentle enough to use every night, but since it's a bit pricy and at least I use a lot each time, I'd say try it 2-3 nights a weekAnswered on 6/13/2014 by Hannah from Portland, OR
Q:Should I apply a cleaner before or after using this product?Asked on 6/1/2014 by Michael from Orange County
A:For best results apply to clean skin.Answered on 9/1/2014 by Anonymous
A:before, it needs to be applied to cleaned skin!Answered on 8/25/2014 by val from San Juan, PR
A:I usually use a cleanser before I apply the mask, since the instructions
say to put it on clean skin. :)Answered on 6/1/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Before opening the mask can it be kept for a few months and not expire?Asked on 5/31/2014 by Nicole
A:Mask of Magnaminty has a shorter shelf life than the other cleansers, so it wouldn't be recommended to wait a few months before opening up your mask. Maybe purchasing it when you need it might be better!Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous
A:I was told that it does have a shelf life even without a ton of use. The employee that helped me suggested that I get the smaller size so that it wouldn't expire before I finished it.Answered on 7/14/2014 by Juliette from Thousand Oaks, CA
Q:Is this good for dry skin?Asked on 5/8/2014 by Rachel Marie from Albany, NY
A:I have combination skin and the dry parts of my face felt nice and
hydrated. This product makes your skin so soft, I like to combine this with
a face oil afterwards or nice moisturizer. You'll wake up with your skin
feeling so soft and refreshed.Answered on 5/8/2014 by Anonymous
A:Mask of Magnaminty is appropriate for all skin types, as all skin can use a deep cleansing treatment every so often. Just make sure to moisturize afterwards!Answered on 5/9/2014 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:YES totallyAnswered on 5/8/2014 by Anonymous
Q:How long does it take for results? I'm using this product for acne, how long does it take to clear up skin?Asked on 4/21/2014 by Maddie from Maine
A:I live in a humid climate (FL), and this mask has done wonders! I have really oily skin, alot of blackheads/ blemishes. I have tried everything out there, from prescription or otherwise, and have never had as good of results as I have with Lush products!
I tried this as a sample when I bought the coalface soap. I used it twice in 4 days and my face was VISIBLY calmer! I ran back to the store to buy it. After 2 weeks of using it every other day, my face is all but clear. The results are well worth the price! I highly recommend.Answered on 7/21/2014 by Cami from Fort Lauderdale, FL
A:It really depends on your skin type. I am actually wearing the mask right now as I write this and I swear by it.
In a humid climate where skin tends to get more oily, I wash my face with cleanser three times a day and I would put this mask on for 10-15 mins every other day.
I live in a very dry climate now, so I only wash my face every other day and I put this mask on once a week.
The trick is to put it on when your skin starts to get an oily feeling. Don't put it on dry skin.
You should see results after the first few applications. Depending on your skin type, it should really reduce the sebum build up (oil that causes zits) after only a week or two. Use it well and your acne may clear up in as little as three weeks from what I've seen.
I don't have bad acne because I keep up a very regular skin care routine and Mask of Magnaminty is a HUGE part of it! Now I use it for skin maintenance and upkeep.
I almost always put it on right before I'm going out somewhere if I want a glowing clean skin look. It reduces the redness of blemishes and natural discoloration in my face and makes my skin beautifully soft feeling and fresh looking.
GOODLUCK!Answered on 4/22/2014 by Anonymous
A:Everybody's skin is different so there isn't a set time. However it does take the skin cells on the face about 28 days to regenerate, so I would give it about that long to see the most accurate results.Answered on 4/22/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:I don't necessarily believe that this product was made for people with acne prone skin. I have an acne problem too, and I own this product. I haven't noticed it clearing up any of my acne, but it is still a great product to resurface the skin. For acne, I would definitely try Herbalism, Dark Angels, or Ocean Salt! All of those have worked miracles on my skin!Answered on 4/21/2014 by Anonymous
Q:can i use this mask right after using the ocean salt ?Asked on 4/9/2014 by Wellhellothere from Taiwan
A:Yes, there is no problem with using the Mask of Magnaminty after Ocean Salt. The Mask is best applied to clean skin, so we always suggest washing your face before applying, and Ocean Salt should do the trick perfectly as long as you don't have extremely sensitive skin!Answered on 4/11/2014 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
Q:Do I need to keep this mask in the refrigerator?Asked on 4/8/2014 by Zajigalka
A:No, you don't HAVE to, but you can if you want and intense mint feeling with it! :)Answered on 4/10/2014 by Kara from Fort Drum, NY
A:No, the Mask of Magnaminty is fine to store at room temperature.Answered on 4/8/2014 by Megan from LUSH
A:No, this is not a mask you need to keep in the refrigerator.

Q:Does freshness matter when it comes to face masks? I'm debating between getting this minty one or one of your fresh face mask...Asked on 2/9/2014 by CSB
A:All of our masks are effective in their own ways. The fresh ones include more perishable ingredients, but the Mask of Magnaminty is very effective at deeply cleansing your face, and soothing and softening your skin even though it has a longer expiration period. It contains a mix of oils that will last a bit longer and really help your skin as opposed to the more perishable ingredients found in our other masks.Answered on 3/28/2014 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
A:All LUSH products are best used when fresh, but this mask does not need to be refrigerated unlike the fresh face masks. The Mask of Magnaminty has a shelf life of 2-3 months, while the fresh face masks have a shelf life of only 2-3 weeks (which is why they come in a small container and are only sold in shops). All of the face masks have a sticker with an expiration date for reference in case you forget when you bought it.Answered on 3/19/2014 by amandavtracey from Chicago, IL
Q:Should i fully wash my face before applying this mask? Even if its clean of makeup etc?Asked on 1/16/2014 by Kat from Bronx,NY
A:This mask is best applied to freshly washed skin. Cleaning your face prior to applying the mask ensures that there is no debris on your face to interfere with or reduce the effectiveness of the properties of the mask.Answered on 3/8/2014 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
A:I always wash my face prior to using a face mask. I absolutely love this product.. In fact I admit that I am a Lush junkie!!!

A:Hey lovely :) I usually wash my face before applying because I like that the mask is cooling and tingly, it feels like it works better on a freshly cleaned face, BUT, I have used it without washing my face and it works just fine because you'll wash it off your face anyways and get that good little scrub in as you wash it away :)

Q:Would this be recommended for someone with mild acne?Asked on 1/3/2014 by Dandelioonn from Chicago, IL
A:Mask of Magnaminty is a great deep cleansing mask that is wonderful for those who experience mild acne. It will work to pull the dirt and debris from the pores, in addition to providing gentle exfoliation. You will likely even find that it helps clear up spotty skin!Answered on 3/5/2014 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I would definitely suggest this product. It is great for all skin types and leaves you refreshed. My skin is sensitive and prone to some acne as well, I used the Ocean Salt Cleanser after my regular face routine and then applied this mask afterward for 15 minutes (previously chilling it in the refrigerator) and my skin felt AMAZING. Not only did it feel amazing but I noticed the red areas on my skin that were from my acne significantly were reduced. That was also after one use.Answered on 1/30/2014 by Monica K. from Bloomingdale, NJ
Q:After leave the mask 5-10 minutes on the face, how is the best way to rinse it? Can I peel it off (just like scrubbing it) or just apply a little bit of warm water & massage it over the face?Asked on 10/23/2013 by Veeta from Singapore
A:With our Mask of Magnaminty, I recommend that you plaster this deep green mask all over your clean face, neck and back. Leave it on for up to 15 minutes then wash it off with warm water, massaging as you go (avoiding the eye area). For best results, follow with a LUSH Moisturizer that best suits your skin type. Mask of Magnaminty will remain fresh for up to four months. I hope this helps!Answered on 11/15/2013 by Lydia
A:I would say the best bet is to apply a little bit of warm water and massage it off. The mask can get messy and will flake so it is easier to massage off rather then try to peel. I usually use a small warm damp towel and wipe it off. I hope this helped. ^-^Answered on 11/9/2013 by Moy from Philly, PA
Q:After using the mask, should I use toner on my face to minimise the pores?Asked on 10/21/2013 by Ooi from Malaysia
A:We recommend using Mask of Magnaminty weekly to keep the skin in good condition and you could use a toner afterwards for a full effect. I would recommend using the Tea Tree Water as it contains antibacterial tea tree, juniperberry and grapefruit waters to keep skin clear of blemishes and balance skin tone. I hope this helps!Answered on 11/15/2013 by Anonymous
Q:Can I use this product after I use coalfaceAsked on 7/14/2013 by Natural beauty from Georgia, conyers
A:You can certainly use Mask of Magnaminty after cleansing if you like, but it's not neccessary to use a cleanser right before applying it, so you can skip that step if you prefer!Answered on 8/13/2013 by Brandy from LUSH
A:I used this product after using Herbalism, which is an exfoliating cleanser. I honestly felt like it was overkill using both, as they both have a scrubby texture to them. If you have sensitive skin, I wouldn't recommend using both in one night. Just my two cents. ;)Answered on 8/2/2013 by Peaceful Erin from Portland, OR.
Q:Is this face mask alike to the Love Lettuce mask?Asked on 6/25/2013 by me from calexico
A:There are quite a few similarities among these two masks, but the main difference is that Love Lettuce is completely preservative-free and must be used fresh (this is why it's only available in stores!), while Mask of Magnaminty has a shelf life of 4 months and does not require refrigeration. Love Lettuce is very calming and balancing, while Mask of Magnaminty is zingy and refreshing!Answered on 10/3/2013 by Brandy from LUSH
A:They look similar, but there are some key differences. Both are deep cleansing, but mask of magnanimity is more so and has less moisturizing. Also, Mask of Magnaminty is tingly while Love lettuce is soothing. Love Lettuce is only available in stores and expires sooner because it doesn't have parabens. Both are great, it just depends on your skin type.Answered on 9/26/2013 by Glitterella from The Great Northwest
