Scrub your skin clear with Mud Flats

Those who would benefit from our powerfully herbal, lemon scented, Rhassoul mud soap are people who never dare wear backless dresses or take off their t-shirts because of their spotty backs or people who never take their socks off for fear of poisoning the atmosphere. You might be surprised to know that antiseptic rosemary, salt, tea tree, sage and cleansing Moroccan clay can make such a difference, but the powerful combination of these ingredients is what clears out dirt, oil and debris from the skin. Buy a slab and get ready to expose yourself, so to speak.

Features

  • Rich, scrubby lather: Mud Flats foams into exfoliating suds to leave the skin feeling incredibly soft.
  • Afraid to bare your skin? Mud Flats is a fantastic soap for clearing up bodily imperfections.
  • Clear up blemishes and bumps: Wash away imperfections with tea tree oil, sage and rosemary.

Yes!! I love this soap
I actually ordered this along with "glorious mud" body scrub/mask.
I like that they send a deli container with this soap,it completely contains the messy fallout from the scrub and the soap.
I think the vanilla scent to the mud scrub is weird but the delicious herbal comforting scent of "Mud Flats soap" tangled with the vanilla of the mud cube inside the deli container actually smells comforting and clean to me.My roomate doesnt like the smell but still uses it.
Im an esthetician,I do skin professionally and I love skincare,so he uses it because I tell him that its amazing and should be loved aND admired for the gentle exfoliating action and toning qualities of this soap. And he trusts me when it comes to skin.

~If you have sensitive or dry skin I would only use this on troubled areas and I only use it three days a week(its hard to only use it 3 days/week i love cleansing w/ it).clays do pull moisture from the skin, but this really doesnt dry me out at all.i do think it is too harsh and warming for face but i use it on my chest and neck as well as my hairline on my forehead to banish clogged pores.

It is really good at banishing "foliculitis"
which is the official term for "those-little-red-bumps-on-your-upper-arms" :)
Foliculitis is caused by a number of things.mostly because you hair follicle shares the same opeing as you sweat and oil glands so dead skin and subaceous fluid along with dirt and other environmental pollutants, get together in your pores to have a party and dont want to leave. Thus clogging those tiny little follicles up and causing unsightly bumps.
I know this soap doesnt lather well, but i have found it amazingly helpful to get it wet and roll the bar between my palms until i get a thick mlky paste, then i add more warm water and work it into my body, this helps build a lather.
I also blend the mud scrub into the lather so i can scrub it around in gentle circular motions and let it sit and dry for a mintute.
Ive noticed "lathering" is a big deal to a lot of people. But lots of lather is not what cleans you.the rich oils lush uses is what cause soaps to lather.
That big lather we see in commercial shampoos and soaps is an additive they add to it to give rich lather so you think your getting clean, which you are,but not because of the lather. The product would do its job without it.
It's added in to make it easier to spread the product around and because people are babies and want to see lather or they dont think there getting clean.
Even knowing this im still comforted by some lather,HOWEVER i would rather have a light frothy lather from natural fatty oils creating a whippy lather effect in my LUSH soaps than have big rich synthetic lather from other shampoos ,body washes and soaps.

Bottom line.Buy this soap if you want beautiful, exfoliated, refreshed and toned skin. This is amazing,it is an absolute staple in my house i have to have 2 bars on hand at all times along with the gentle ring of rose and comforter bubble bar and Twilight.
Thumbs up lush this is great.
And thank you for the container.it contains all of the muddy mess and alows me to not loase all the crumbs so i dont waste any of it.

Bought this soap to help alleviate my "backne," and so far am still waiting to see results. (It's been about five days.) If it ends up working, I'll be stoked, but man this soap STINKS! I know some people really like it, but I find it to be incredibly strong and strange for a soap. It does smell distinctly like fresh ginger. The texture is really soft, so put it in a soap box or soap saver. Lathers a lot better than some other Lush soaps I've tried and leaves the skin feeling clean but not tight or dry. Like I said, if it ends up clearing my skin, I'll be coming back for more, smelliness be darned.

Comments about Mud Flats Soap:

I have a horrible history with "fancy" soaps. My skin is very sensitive, I have excema, and I get migraines from artificial scents.
So, I am super picky about my bath products.

This is my favorite soap ever!
It doesnt dry out my skin, it smells great, doesn't flare up my excema, and does a great job cleaning me up. I am a vet tech and get REALLY messy on a daily basis, and this keeps me clean.
I really wish this was still available in store...

I've been using this on my back for a couple weeks and it actually works! I haven't worn a halter top since the mid-1990s, but I totally can now. I'm delighted. Nothing I've tried on my back has ever worked this well.

    Comments about Mud Flats Soap:

I was looking for something to help with the keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) on my upper arms and thighs. I noticed a little bit of a difference, but not enough to be in love with this, so I'll keep looking. I like the smell of it and this soap does get you clean, but it's not a really great exfoliator. What it is good for is armpits. I don't really get darker skin in my pits like I've seen on some women, but I do get ingrown hairs and irritation occasionally from shaving. Mud flats is great for this! The gentle exfoliation works for armpits, just not enough for the rest of my arms and legs.

I bought this soap hoping that it would clear the bacne and eczema that I had been struggling with. After a couple days into using this I noticed my skin was clearing up! My eczema didn't feel scaly and scars appeared less harsh. I have been using this product continuously for a year and my eczema had faded away and I don't have acne scaring! My skin is soft and smooth and now I cane backless shirts/dresses without a problem. This was a life saver

      Comments about Mud Flats Soap:

I normally use Sandstone as an exfoliator, but I've found that Mud Flats also works as a kinder, gentler substitute during those times when I want to "clarify" my skin but don't want the drying effect of Sandstone. I can also use it more often than Sandstone as it's not quite as harsh. That being said, I haven't found it to be terribly effective when it comes to clearing up blemishes on my neck & back. But it lathers quickly & I absolutely love it's clean, earthy smell so I can't help but keep using it. And it does a great job of of getting my skin clean without drying it out or leaving any kind of residue on my skin. The little deli container it comes in is also a big plus. I find myself rinsing it out, running it through the dishwasher & reusing it for my Fresh Farmacy & Coal Face soaps that I use almost daily that would otherwise melt away in the shower.

        Comments about Mud Flats Soap:

I've always had some trouble with "backne" and have used various products over the years to try and combat it. No soap has ever been 100% effective and, despite my hopes, Mud Flats also falls into that category. I've been using it 3-4 times a week for about a month now, and although I still have some breakouts, I do think the soap has helped some. It's a wonderful exfoliant, just the right amount of scrubby for me, but it does have a tendency to leave my skin feeling a bit tight and dry. I've started using it in combination with You Snap the Whip, which has really helped.

Now, a couple of issues. First of all, to address the smell: I read numerous reviews before I purchased this, since I couldn't see it in the store first, and there were a lot of comments (good and bad) about the smell. I have to say, it is pretty overpowering, especially at first. I read someone describe it as very herbal, but it to me it was more musky and incense-like. And very, very strong. But it's something that I've gotten used to and I find it pleasant now, especially because it never smells that strongly on my body. Additionally, I actually love the way it smells in combination with You Snap the Whip.

Second of all, melting/crumbling/etc: Seeing that a number of people complained that this soap goes too quickly, I took the advice of one commenter and sliced the soap up into chunks. I haven't had a problem with it crumbling or "melting" in the way that the body butters do, but I think not exposing the entire bar to the water definitely helps extend the life of the product. It can be a bit messy in that it leaves some residue on the shower walls/curtain, but it's easy enough to rinse away if you don't let it dry.

I was so heartbroken that I couldn't buy Narcotick anymore because it was great for body acne and stinky feet and pits. I had no idea that this would come so close, plus it's even better because it's packaging and preservative free and doesn't leave dark blue stains on my shower curtains and tile!

A must have for anyone who needs a little anti-bacterial assistance.

I love scrubby soap. This stuff has just the right amount of scrubby and smooth to it. It doesn't lather much, but the lather is smooth and silky, like a high grade castille soap produces. It also makes a great shaving soap. It does make a bit of a mess in the shower, but heck, it's the *shower,* just make sure to rinse the mud away before you turn off the water, it takes five seconds.

The herbal smell is different but goes nicely with the texture and feel of the mud. I just wish it would last longer for the price. But overall this has been my favorite lush soap. Will definitely buy again when it's back in stock!

When my order arrived, I took one huge whiff and I swear to you, it cleared my sinuses big time. The scent is sooo strong, it's rude! Aside from the smell, it didn't last very long & I couldn't tell if it made a difference on my skin. I'll have to order another chunk & take it for another test drive.

I bought a Lush gift basket for my boyfriend and this was included. I was SO excited to try it, and it was initially a lot of fun to use. Almost immediately after applying it though my skin began to feel irritated, and there was a strange stinging sensation.. it just didn't feel "right". I quickly rinsed it off, and sure enough my entire body was covered in red splotches and what appeared to be scratches. I'm sure that I am allergic to something in this which is why my experience went the way that it had, but I would definitely suggest trying it out on your hand or arm before covering yourself!

                Comments about Mud Flats Soap:

This is by FAR my favorite body soap I've purchased from Lush. It smells very clean, earthy, and a little like lemongrass. It's got just enough grit to be lightly exfoliating and the mud feels AMAZING on skin. It doesn't strip your skin of moisture and it actually cleared up the little blemishes that occasionally show up on your skin. Wonderful!

                Comments about Mud Flats Soap:

I was so excited about using this soap, because I love lemon scents and deep cleaning, mud based products. It doesn't really smell like lemons at all though... in fact, the herbal smell was so strong at first it gave me a headache! Once I started using it in the bath, it felt amazing... just a little bit drying, but the smoothness of my skin made it so worth it. The smell also calmed down a little, and if it ever gets overpowering, I scrub with just a little bit of Slammer after :) If you don't mind strong herbal scents, this soap is magical!

                Comments about Mud Flats Soap:

Are there any items like this that you carry in stores that work just as well for treating acne on the back and chest?

I would recommend "You Snap the Whip." It is highly exfoliating and offers moisture to heal newly refreshed skin. Additionally the coal base will absorb any oil you are struggling with!

Mud Flats is fantastic for treating back and chest acne because it contains antiseptic rosemary, salt, tea tree, sage and cleansing Moroccan clay to clear dirt, oil and debris from the skin!
