Wet both hair and the shampoo bar. Glide the shampoo bar down the length of your hair about three times (right, left and back). Work into a lather and rinse thoroughly. Follow with LUSH conditioner if needed. Keep your solid shampoo in a cool, dry place between uses; we recommend using a LUSH shampoo bar tin.

Stimulating and reviving minty shampoo bar
There’s nothing exactly new about our stimulating cinnamon and clove shampoo bar, we call it that because it's made for people who want NEW! hair! When stress or life goes to your head and your hair starts thinning, motivate those tired scalps with spice and mint oils. It’s intense, (in the best possible way), but works wonders on irritated scalps or hair that’s thinning. Rosemary and nettle herbs rejuvenate, and make your hair shiny and soft as a feather. All of this, in one beautifully spicey bar; are you ready for a NEW! shampoo?
- Bar on top: Customer and staff favorite, NEW is perfectly suited to all hair types, not just those who are feeling follicly challenged.
- A force to be reckoned with: Herbs and spice, and everything minty and nice for shiny, healthy hair and scalps.

Q:i am in love with your products but i wonder why you are still using sodium lauryl sulfate in your products??Asked on 3/15/2015 by ali
A:Great question! Sodium Lauryl Sulphate has been the topic of debate for a while now and we recognize that it is a customer concern. The thing to remember is that Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) has a long standing history of being a safe alternative to soap. We at LUSH don't use ingredient alternatives that haven't been proven to be safe for a long period of time. There is a great article on our website called "Don't stress about SLS" that I recommend you check out for more information. This article is also available in our freshest catalog.Answered on 3/21/2015 by Alexander from LUSH Direct
Q:Is this bar okay to use on dry scalps with light dandruff?Asked on 2/18/2015 by lydia.anne
A:NEW! is a very stimulating shampoo bar with all of the cinnamon and peppermint in there to help with hair growth at the root. If your looking for relief from dandruff or flakey scalp, I usually recommend Jumping Juniper because of the Juniperberry Oil that helps remove dry skin. Lullaby would be a great alternative as well, it's calming Oat Milk will soother the scalp and hopefully quell the problem at the source.Answered on 3/21/2015 by Alexander from LUSH Direct
A:I also have dry scalp w/minimal dandruff but I have found this bar is wonderful for dry iitchy scalp and I don't have flakes. I certainly give it a thumbs up!Answered on 2/21/2015 by Anonymous
A:Most of the complaints seem to be that this bar is too drying, if you have dry/irritated scalp the Lullaby shampoo bar should be more effective.Answered on 2/18/2015 by Anonymous
A:This one is really stimulating and it might be to much for your scalp. I would try the other shampoo bar lullaby it has oat milk which is really calming and soothing for the scalp. And if your really in need for a hair treatment I would get roots! I love it and it keeps my scalp in tip top shape! ;) hope this helped happy shopping!

Q:I want to get the Hair Doctor treatment for my boyfriend, who has exzema on his scalp, causing red, rough patches of dry skin. Would this work well with the Hair Doctor treatment for his dry scalp and dandruff?Asked on 2/12/2015 by Ami from Topeka, KS
A:Hair Doctor is a great option to help deal with those scalp issues! It's packed with chamomile oil, which will help with soothing the sore, sensitive areas of the scalp. Fuller's earth will help with help remove any buildup on the scalp as well, helping to clarify while the peppermint oil refreshes and invigorates. Hair Doctor also has extra virgin coconut oil in it, which can help reduce the symptoms associated with and eczema, because it helps to balance out the skin and scalp, as well as moisturize the dryer areas. All in all, Hair Doctor will help to clarify and balance the scalp, helping you to feel fresh and clean!Answered on 2/12/2015 by Meg from LUSH Direct
A:I use the Stimulating and reviving minty shampoo bar for thinning hair but I also get eczema on my scalp. It really helps with my thinning hair, it smells nice and leaves my hair soft and manageable. It doesn't seem to help my eczema at all but it doesn't seem to make it worse either.Answered on 2/12/2015 by Anonymous
Q:Does it (and other solid shampoos and conditioners) come with a shampoo bar tin?Asked on 2/2/2015 by A from AZ
A:Hi there! Thanks for your question. Unfortunatley, you have to buy the shampoo bar tin seperatley. Hope this helps!Answered on 2/10/2015 by Anonymous
A:No, it doesn't come with a tin. However, you can order the tin in the accessories section. I have 3 and couldn't do without them! lolAnswered on 2/3/2015 by Anonymous
A:No, but you don't really need one. Just use a soap dish (a plastic baggie
works well for traveling).Answered on 2/3/2015 by Anonymous
A:The tin doesn't come with the shampoo/conditioner bar. You have to purchase
the tin separately.Answered on 2/3/2015 by Anonymous
A:This bar does not come with a tin. You must stand it on it’s side or it will melt into your soap dish. I love this shampoo.

Q:Is this product gluten free?Asked on 1/1/2015 by Busy Little Bee from Portland, Oregon
A:NEW! doesn't contain any ingredients that contain gluten, however, it is made in a facility that does contain gluten. If you have a severe allergy we probably wouldn't recommend using it, as there is always a slight chance of cross-contamination.Answered on 2/13/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:Please note: I am no expert
That being said I personally don't see anything that would imply gluten to me and lush themselves are very good about listing everything that's in there products!Answered on 1/29/2015 by Biyui from Wisconsin

Q:Can pregnant lady use the NEW! during her pregnancy? Is this safe for a pregnant woman and for a baby? Thank you!Asked on 11/25/2014 by Mandy from Montreal, QC
A:NEW! shampoo bar is invigorating and the rosemary and peppermint oils can stimulate hair growth! Any of our products can be used during pregnancy, so long as your doctor hasn't advised you to avoid specific ingredients or materials. I'd recommend checking with your doctor as to whether there are any particular ingredients she or he would advise you to avoid, as each person is different.Answered on 11/26/2014 by Haley from LUSH Direct
Q:I heard this product is great for hair growth. If so, how fast and how well?Asked on 11/11/2014 by nick from skippack,pa
A:New is a stimulating shampoo that has a few essential oils in the that will help to encourage healthy hair growth. It is not actually designed to grow hair, it will work to decongest the scalp by motivating with spice and mint oils.Answered on 11/13/2014 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I have not noticed any new hair growth. I have been using this product for
2 years now. even though I haven't seen any new hair growth I haven't lost
any more hair that I had when I started using it.
I love this shampoo for the clean feel it leaves my hair. so, even though
it didn't restore this 50 year old's hair to that of a 25 year old its
great stuff and doesn't feel heavy or leave residue in your hairAnswered on 11/12/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Hi, is this product okay for natural blondes? I just used this product and was surprised that the lather turned red and am worried that it will alter my hair color. Are there any dying properties in this that I should be concerned about?Asked on 9/10/2014 by BlondesHaveMoreFun from New York, NY
A:The red we use has been safe tested on hair. As long as you rinse thoroughly, there shouldn't be any issues!Answered on 9/25/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:I am a synthetic blonde, and I too was worried my hair would gain a red tint from this bar. However, I have not noticed any red, in fact my blonde hair lightened and looks healthier and feels healthier!Answered on 9/13/2014 by HeyItsMac from Ann Arbor, Mi
Q:what lush conditioner would you recommend to go with this shampoo bar? I was looking at veganese, but when i went to the store, i think it's smell does not complement with this shampoo's. what do you think?Asked on 8/3/2014 by Dolly
A:Definitely American Cream, the effect is a bit like candy cane!Answered on 10/11/2014 by Puli from Lansdale, PA
A:We don't really have any conditioners with a similar scent to NEW! so it is best to base your choice on what will work best for your hair. That being said, Retread is a little bit lighter, scent wise, so it might be a nice compliment to NEW! , which is a little bit stronger of a fragrance.Answered on 9/25/2014 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I think you should go for the American Cream Conditioner, I agree that the Veganese conditioner would not compliment the NEW! bar much.Answered on 8/24/2014 by The_Ruch_A_Nator from Coalinga, CA
Q:Is this bar safe for nursing moms?Asked on 7/15/2014 by Nicole from Corona, CA
A:We don't test our products on people that are specifically nursing. All of the ingredients are listed on the website so I would take that list and ask a medical professional to be sure.Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous

Q:What's the best way to store the bar so it lasts the longest/is easily accessible in the shower?Asked on 9/25/2013 by Brynn from Portland, OR
A:I break up the bar into 4 pieces. Each piece lasts me about 1 month and I store it in the tin Lush sells. I place the piece I use in the shower in a shallow dish on top a cap from a water bottle. This allows any water to drip below the bar and dry between uses. The bowl catches the drippings for easy cleaning otherwise my shower ledge would be red from the lather. I've been doing this for about a year now and it works really well.Answered on 2/25/2014 by Rosie from San Antonio, TX
A:The best way to store the bar is to keep it in a dry location out of any sunlight. I would suggest purchasing our shampoo bar tins as it stores it safely!Answered on 12/8/2013 by Anonymous
A:I keep my bar stored on a soap ledge in the back of the shower out of the water. If you don't have a ledge in a dry spot, you could always buy a wire soap dish with suction cups. I have seen them at Target before.

Q:Does this product help with hereditary hair loss?Asked on 6/1/2013 by Alise Michelle
A:New! is meant to help with hair loss of any kind as it works to stimulate the scalp and follicles, which promote new hair growth.Answered on 10/2/2013 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
A:Being the child of a mother and father who have pretty thin hair, I know how you feel. For me, NEW! worked EXTREMELY well! I've only been using it for a week and I'm pretty sure it's going to be a bit longer before I see evidence of hair growth but I know for sure that it's made my hair LOOK thicker and even feel thicker. It gives great volume, makes your hair shiny, and even smells great! Although I would recommend accompanying NEW! with a hydrating conditioner as it does tend to dry my hair out although my hair is usually extremely oily so it balances my hair out perfectly!Answered on 7/30/2013 by LUSH Luver from Florida
Q:I thought that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is not a very healthy ingredient to be using on your skin? I've read that it is just an irritant and only used as a deep cleaning/foaming agent. I see that its in more products than just this one. I really want to use these shampoo bars, as i'm sure they are amazing, but the SLS worries me. Could someone tell me why it's used and if I just have the wrong information on this ingredient?Asked on 5/14/2013 by Just Wondering
A:Sodium lauryl sulfate is a surfactant, which can create quite a rich foam in certain concentrations, and has a long history of safe use. Its combination of water-soluble and oil-soluble properties allow the product containing it to bond with any oils present. This purpose is especially useful in our hair treatments, hair conditioners, and other products that are meant to be washed out, as it helps the product to rinse out without leaving product residue. In short, we use it to create lather, as well as to clean the hair!Answered on 9/26/2013 by Brandy from LUSH
Q:Can I use this on died hair? Will it wash out my color?Asked on 11/19/2012 by lesliebby from Los Angeles, Ca
A:We test all of our hair products on virgin hair that has not been color treated. Therefore, we cannot say how NEW! will work on hair that has been dyed, unfortunately.Answered on 11/22/2012 by Anonymous
Q:Does This Bar Help Your Hair Grow Longer?Asked on 7/20/2012 by chacha from boston Ma
A:The New! bar is great because it really helps to foster a healthy scalp, with lots of stimulating ingredients to promote circulation. A healthy scalp helps with both the growth and retention of hair, but it will still take time for the hair to grow. Lots of people have lots of success with the New bar, so give it a try!Answered on 8/1/2012 by Laura from LUSH
Q:is it sulfate freeAsked on 6/24/2012 by Eileen from Farmingdale,NY
A:The NEW! bar uses Sodium Lauryl Sulfate as its lathering agent. You can find a full list of ingredients for this product posted above!Answered on 7/13/2012 by Laura from LUSH
Q:how many times can I wash my hair with one bar?Asked on 6/11/2012 by Yvette from Peru, IN
A:Each bar generates approximately 60-80 washes. Be sure to keep the bar as dry as possible between uses to get the most mileage from it!Answered on 6/19/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:They say that you can get 60-80 uses from one bar, but I have used a single bar for almost 5 months now and I wash my hair every other day, if not every day. It lasts for a long time.Answered on 6/21/2012 by Inari from Wilmington, DE
