Q:I used a small amount of this the other day (roughly pearl-sized) and didn't find it very effective. Considering I have extremely long hair, how much of this product should I be using?Asked on 4/30/2015 by Endlessly from Minnesota
A:You will likely need more than a pearl-sized amount. Make sure the places on your roots that you find greasy are covered, and massage it into the hair from there.Answered on 5/6/2015 by Sal
A:You have to use much more than a pearl size. Be generous with it. It is very effective if used correctly. I sprinkle it in my hands and them start from my scalp and work my way around until the get through my entire head. This usually take 3-4 times......FYI - you do not need to go all the way to the end of your hair. It's mostly your scalp that you want to treat.....Answered on 5/1/2015 by Anonymous
I have shoulder length hair and I use more than that amount. I just
sprinkle a pretty good amount in the palm of my hand, rub my hands together
to distribute more evenly over both hands and fingers and rub it on my
scalp. I find that it absorbs oil and smells nice.
Hope that helps.Answered on 4/30/2015 by Anonymous
Q:Is the corn in this product (and your other products) from Genetically Modified (GMO) corn? I'd like to know, and I will buy it if it is not, but my guess is that it is GMO corn. Please let me know if I'm wrong. I'd love to be wrong!Asked on 2/27/2015 by S from OR
A:LUSH has an on-going commitment to organic produce and sustainable products. We do have a lot of information on the "Our Story" page of the website about where our ingredients come from. I can tell you that if the produce is modified in any way, we do not use it. We are committed to biodegradable products and to the word FRESH meaning more then just it's marketing worth. Sustainability is accountability, our corn is guaranteed LUSH fresh!Answered on 3/21/2015 by Alexander from LUSH Direct
Q:can you still use it anyways if it has expired? I have almost a full bottle. I totally forgot I had it.Asked on 2/1/2015 by Jo from LA, CA
A:No Drought is preservative free! The expiry date on this is not set in stone, its a self-preserving product. I'm sure a couple weeks after the expiry is okay, just don't take liberties and use it years after we recommend stopping.Answered on 3/22/2015 by Alexander from LUSH Direct
A:I personally would still use it. It doesn't have any sort of liquid product in it, it's just powder, so I wouldn't think that it'd really "expire," but more along the lines of just a "best by" date. If you use it and don't like the way it feels or you feel like it's not doing what it should, then get rid of it.Answered on 2/19/2015 by Ami from Topeka, KS
Q:Is this safe for hair that has been dyed? I had a disaster, recently, washing my purple hair when traveling--my stylist thinks there was something in the water. So I'm wondering about dry shampoo for my next trip & naturally turned to LUSH first.Asked on 2/1/2015 by Devoted LUSHie from NYC
A:Yes, No Drought is safe to use on dyed hair! There isn't enough of the citrus oils in the formula to affect the hair - you're safe!Answered on 2/13/2015 by Meg from LUSH Direct
Q:about how long is the expiration date on this product?Asked on 12/28/2014 by bouzeso
A:No Drought has a 14 month shelf life.Answered on 12/29/2014 by Elizabeth from LUSH Direct
Q:Can I still use this product after it has expired? I have a lot of it left over.Asked on 10/28/2014 by Sandysmiles
A:We always recommend to use the product within the given time frame before it expires to maximize the effects of the No Drought Dry Shampoo.Answered on 11/6/2014 by Farinaz from LUSH Direct
Q:I know this is odd to ask but it occurred to me that I LOVE the scent and was wondering if this could ever be used as a dusting powder?Asked on 9/28/2014 by Kaitlin from New York
A:Not an odd, but inspired idea! The No Drought Dry Shampoo can totally be used as a dusting powder. It has that intoxicating scent and is a great powder. My only suggestion would be to use a make up brush to apply the No Drought as a dusting powder. It is a little thicker than a regular dusting powder with just an overall different feel. So use a make up brush to help evenly spread the powder until you have a real feel for how light or heavy it feels and how you like it.
Good luck with your inspired idea!

Q:Will the citrus in this product fade my color treated hair quicker than normal?Asked on 11/15/2013 by Jenny from Omaha, NE
A:No, the citrus used in the product is in oil form. The only thing that may strip color from color treated hair is fruit juices, which are not found in No Drought dry shampoo.Answered on 11/16/2013 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
Q:Is it okay to use a curling iron after no drought? Thanks!Asked on 10/26/2013 by LeeAnn from Pittsburgh
A:If you would like to use a curling iron after no drought, that is entirely up to you! This should not have an effect on the properties of the shampoo itself. I myself use a curling iron after shampooing with LUSH products, and it does not change the effects of those wonderful ingredients.Answered on 11/28/2013 by Anonymous
Q:My dog recently got knee surgery and we cannot bathe her. Is this product safe to use on her.Asked on 9/29/2013 by Darci from Arlington, VA
A:As we have a strict no testing on animals policy, we do not recommend that you try to bath her with this product. We do tend to use natural ingredients but I would still side on the error of caution.Answered on 12/8/2013 by Anonymous
Q:I have purchased this product and I feel like I am doing it wrong. I have watched juicystar07 (from YouTube)'s review on it and I applied it just like her, but my hair still feels greasy when I run my fingers through my hair.Asked on 6/8/2012 by Anonymous
A:No Drought is meant to absorb some oils, but it won't replace a full shampooing all together. It's more meant to just extend the time between washes a little bit, but if you're finding the hair is still oily, then it's time for a full shampoo.Answered on 6/12/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:Does this product work for those with darker hair? I have thick semi-wavy black hair.Asked on 2/21/2012 by LeslieK^A from Riverside, CA
A:I have dark, dark brown hair (nearly black) and it works well for me. If I'm feeling particularly self-conscious about the powder showing, I mix a tiny bit of cocoa powder in with the No Drought to darken it up. Also, if you're unsure about committing to buy it, I would suggest trying it in the store (if you can) or even using a similarly colored/textured item to test it out! For this, I'd say a little bit of powdered sugar would be a reasonable substitute - just to check on the color, that is.Answered on 7/11/2012 by Alyssa S. from Portland, OR
A:It does work on darker hair but I would recommend if you have dark hair to keep a natural bristle brush handy. Put some No Drought in your hair, as close to the roots as possible then let it sit for a couple of minutes (while you brush your teeth or something) then comb out the area you put the product with the natural bristle brush. Hope this helps!Answered on 3/3/2012 by Jenni from Salt Lake City, UT
A:Yes, you may just want to use a little bit less of the product, and be very careful to ensure it is completely brushed through.Answered on 2/23/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:If your wondering if it leaves a gray like color on your hair, it doesnt bc i have dark brown hair and i use it. Now if your wondering if it removes the excess oil properly then I have to say that it depends on the amount of product you use (more is better).Answered on 2/24/2012 by MD CP from Santo Domingo
A:Yes it does! I have blackish-brown hair and use this couple times a week. Massage it into your scalp and then brush your hair well--that's what works for me.Answered on 3/9/2012 by Lush Lover from Indiana
A:It might make it slightly grey. However, that is just blending it with your hands. If you want maximum blending, use a bristle brush. It should be fine then.Answered on 3/13/2012 by Tim from Virginia
A:i can't give a definite answer for your hair style since mine is brown, thin and straight. but for me i get absolutely none.Answered on 4/13/2012 by M.R. from Brick, NJ
A:It does work on darker hair - I have very dark brown, almost black, hair. You will have to do a little more brushing or rubbing to get it to blend in, but it does eventually disappear. I read a review from someone that said she wouldn't suggest it for dark CLEAN hair, because it needs something to soak it up, but I have used this product many times with success.Answered on 4/19/2012 by probablyjess from St. Louis, MO
A:I have chestnut brown hair and it seems to work fine. You have to be very gentle when sprinkling it on so that you don't dump it all in one spot and once you brush through, it isn't noticeable. It works much better than any other dry shampoo I've used.Answered on 4/24/2012 by Spaceymacy101 from The Woodlands, TX
A:I have dark brown hair and can use this product. I do notice a difference in the shade of my hair on days I use it, but it's not obvious and doesn't look bad.Answered on 5/30/2012 by EmmiDahling from York, PA
Q:I'm not quite sure how to use this product and I think I did it wrong the first time because it wasn't very evenly distributed maybe. Can you give more detailed instrucions? I have baby fine, medium length hair if that makes a difference.Asked on 2/20/2012 by Anonymous
A:Brush your hair first, making sure it's free of tangles. Then distribute a light dusting of the No Drought evenly through the hair and shake it through to ensure coverage. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, so it can absorb sebum from the hair. Finally, brush through the hair again to remove the powder. Voila! Fresh hair once more!Answered on 2/21/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:Can you use this on dreads?Asked on 2/18/2012 by shaina9brochill from Maine, US
A:Yes, you can use No Drought on dreadlocked hair.Answered on 2/23/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:How far will this product go with shoulder length hair?Asked on 1/31/2012 by Anonymous from Virginia Beach, VA
A:Since you only need a very light dusting of No Drought for each use, you should be able to get many, many uses out of one bottle. It will vary person to person based on how often it is used and how much is used on each application.Answered on 2/17/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:Really depends on frequency of use. I only use about three puffs of the stuff. So, it could go quite a long way! Plus, it is better than all the other dry shampoos out there (I have tried quite a few!)Answered on 2/19/2012 by Amelia from Seattle, WA
