I'm not sure how well this would work for people with dark hair, but I have dark brown roots and it actually helps lighten them so they blend better with my pink hair if I don't brush it all out. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to get an extra day out of their last wash, especially people who color their hair frequently. My only gripe is the packaging, I personally would prefer a baby-power-like shaker container maybe.

I hate washing my hair every day because it makes me scalp really dry and itchy. Enter the dry shampoo! I've tried a million different kinds and most of them were in aerosol cans and leaked after 1 or 2 uses. I would use baby powder instead but I HATEEEE the smell of baby powder.
No Drought Dry Shampoo smells lemony and fresh and makes my hair look a lot less greasy so I don't have to wash it as often.
That being said, I'm a little sad that the container exploded the second I pulled the little plastic tab off the bottle. Like, literally EXPLODED all over my clothes and face. My eyelashes were white with powder. Thankfully I didn't lose very much of the product and it wasn't too hard to clean up, but be careful opening it right after you recieve it.

I was SO excited to hear that Lush came out with a dry shampoo since I had been using store brand dry shampoos for a while. I found the store brands to be FULL of chemicals and I disliked the synthetic smells. SO I swiped up a bottle of No Drought as soon as it hit the stores. It works super well, making your hair look fresh and clean as well as adding mounds of volume to my thin hair. The only complaint i have is the bottle makes it really hard to apply without accidentally dropping a small pile of snow like white powder in one spot. I understand that Lush cant use spray bottles but maybe putting it in a dusting brush container like some other dry shampoos would be a good alternative. Lastly the smell is kind of meh... like lime Popsicles, not my favorite Lush smell but also not bad. I wish they had a muskier or even mint variation. All in all I prefer this over the commercial brands by far!

Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
When I first got it, I was excited for the next no-hair-wash day to try it out. It was messy to put on and with my longish hair it took more than I anticipated to get through it all. Nonetheless it did its job. The smell was ok, but not super and surprisingly it worked well after its expiration date. I had quite a bit left when it hit its expiration date so I tried it as a deodorant dusting powder and a powder to prevent chaffing. It worked pretty well in those departments.
Overall I liked it and would buy it again, but probably would put them into smaller containers so it won't be as messy

Pros

- Cleans Thoroughly
- Great Smell
Cons

Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
I put a little too much coconut oil in my hair last night and when I woke up this morning my hair was greasy and flat. I put a little of No Drought in my hands, rubbed them together, then flipped my hair over and ran my hands through my hair focusing mainly on my scalp.
I flipped my head back up and could instantly see that my hair looked 90% better; it was almost oil free and there was a lot more volume. I have dark brown hair (that is also curly and incredibly thick) so it does leave a bit of a grey tint but I just brush my hair a couple of times and it goes away.
The only downside to this is that powder gets everywhere so make sure you're standing somewhere that can be cleaned easily and that you get dressed for the day AFTER you use this.
No Drought has made it to where I only wash my hair 3 (or 4 if I'm going out that night) times a week when I used to wash my hair almost every day. It always makes my hair smell great and feel clean, my coworkers are always surprised when I tell them I haven't washed my hair that day. =)
Definitely reccommend.

I use dry shampoo often. But this is my first time using a powder.
It work better than almost any canned product I have used!
But this is very messy compared to the spray. So make sure to use it while wearing a shirt you're not going to wear for that day.

Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
I have very fine, straight hair that gets greasy within about 12 hours of washing. I've been trying to find a dry shampoo that doesn't have a bunch of junk in it, but all the aerosol brands are full of chemicals. I was delighted when I found that Lush had a dry shampoo - and it works great! I've been shampooing every other day and using No Drought in between. It takes some of the shine out of my hair, but the volume and lack of grease is totally worth it. My only complaint is the packaging - I don't understand why Lush's powders are being put in liquid containers. It's not hard to apply with a little practice, but the powder leaks out during travel and the nozzle can get a little gunked up.
The smell is ok. Nothing fantastic; just limey and clean.

Might as well just take a shower
Pros
- Smells Good
Cons
- Hard to use
- Irritating
- Messy
Best Uses
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
This product doesn't make your hair NOT greasy, it just makes it LESS greasy. It's also really messy and will get everywhere. Your face, clothes, floor, sink. So I would suggest getting in the shower and getting undressed like you would to shower. Or, you could just shower..It's more trouble to use this product than to shower. It's hard to distribute and will leave your hair looking white if not patted down properly, I've tried combing and brushing it to solve that, but doesn't help much. It also irritates my scalp if left in for a couple days. Not worth it.

Cons

Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
Although I have no complaints about the utility of this product, I was a little underwhelmed. The smell is not bad by any means, but it reminds me of fake lime/citrus, which isn't great. And while it works for absorbing grease, it could pretty easily be replaced by just putting baby powder in your hair. The packaging is a little annoying and tends to cause spilling, but it isn't too bad.

Try This!
Pros
- Light To Carry In Purse
- One Bottle Lasts Forever
- Smells Great
Cons
- Apply More Than Once
Best Uses
- For My Bangs
- Mid Day Freshener
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
I have very fine hair with bangs and oily skin. I have tried dry shampoo sprays, and never was impressed. I am a devoted Lush fanatic and tried this dry shampoo, and it is truly the best I have used. I puff a little into my palms mid day to freshen up my bangs, rub it through and brush it out. It does a great job of soaking up the excess oil. I have had the same bottle since last July - and it's now April, and not even a third of it is gone! It's economical, and it WORKS!

Great Stuff
By LK
from IA
Pros
- Actually works
- Smells nice
Cons
- Messy
Best Uses
- Day Old Dirty Hair
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
Due to dry skin, I needed to find a way to not wash my hair every day. Bad part is I have oily hair that needs to be washed. I tried a couple of dry shampoos but nothing worked until I got Drought. Drough works great, even on oily hair. It is messy, I recommend applying in the shower (no water) so the powder doesn't go everywhere. You'll need quite a bit of it. Make sure it gets to the roots and all the way down your hair. You will have to reply it in the evening. I found that an over the counter volumizing dry shampoo (just a spritz underniethe) combined with Drought works wonders. The over the counter shampoo wakes up the flat dirty hair while Drought actually de-oils it and cleans. Perfect combination.

Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
This stuff smells AMAZING. At first, I would use a little to much, and my hair would look grey/powdery, but then I realized a little does go a long way! There's a enough in the bottle to last a whole year if you use it a few times a week. This is especially good for weaves/locs where you really don't want to have soap and other things stuck in your hair!

I love this product so much! I used to wash my hair everyday until i recently bought this. Now i only wash my hair 2 times a week. My hair is long, straight and black. I use it on my scalp and it takes out the oil!
I hate the packaging though, the top part was hard to open so i don't use the top at all. I take it off.
I used this product for over 4 months and im still not half way done. Life saver.

Great Product- But bad in Winter!
Pros
- Fresh smell
- Takes Out Grease
Cons
- Drying
Best Uses
- Best In Non Winter Months
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
I loved this. I had never used a dry shampoo before, but since I have fine thin hair that can be prone to grease anyway I wanted to try it.
It worked very well! Loved it, but as we got into Winter (I am from Indiana) It started to really dry out my scalp. I had to completely discontinue use this winter it was so bad. BUT It was fine (with a little conditioner)when it was more Summer/Fall weather. The combination of drier cold winter air and the heating drying things just made the product not useable for a while for me.
I would recommend to anyone with the caution that it can dry out your scalp, I have sensitive skin however, so it may be worse with me than average.

great dry shampoo, wish the smell lasted
Pros
Cons
Best Uses
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
I've been using this dry shampoo for about 6 months now. I wash my hair about 3x/week and use No Drought on the in-between days. It works really well but I wish the scent lingered longer. The smell is very faint, even right out of the bottle. Maybe I just got a lightly-scented batch. I'm going to try to add some extra grapefruit essential oil to boost the scent a bit.
I've noticed that it does leave a bit of residue on my hair, especially if I use it two days in a row. However, I don't think it makes my hair look noticeably ashy (I have medium-brown hair) so the residue isn't really visible, it just affects how my hair feels.
I think the container size of this product is overkill. I've barely made a dent in my supply, and as I said above I've been using it regularly for 6 months. I'd rather spend less on a smaller container, which would still last a long time and would ensure a fresher product.
This powder also works alright as a deodorant/body powder. I dust it on top of the natural deodorant I use (which can't quite get the job done by itself) and it works great. Could also be used to dust inside stinky shoes, etc. Overall I like this powder because it works for it's advertised purpose but can also be put to other uses.

Pros
- Easy to use
- Freshens
- Matteifying
- No Visible Residue
- Smells Great
- Works well
Cons
- A little messy
Best Uses
- After workouts
- Between washes
- Greasy hair
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
I have long, wavy, fragile hair that gets oily quickly, and I've been trying to find the perfect dry shampoo for years now. I'd been using high end ones, as they have worked the best so far. No Drought is identical to my favorite department store dry shampoo, and it's cheaper and doesn't have the questionable ingredients. Honestly, I don't think there will ever be a dry shampoo that performs as well as a traditional shampoo, but this is one of the best products I've found to soak up grease and hide the fact that I haven't actually washed my hair in a few days. I usually wash every other day and I'm aiming for less. So far No Drought has let me go two days without shampooing, and I'm pretty active (I run, waitress, and do yoga nearly every day) so my hair can get greasy quickly, but I want to look nice for my job, and frequent washing dries it out too much. This product performs as well or better as the products that cost twice as much. I usually apply it to my palms and then run it through my roots because I can't brush my hair, but I have directly applied it to my scalp and was able to work it all in with just my fingers and had no residue. It also adds texture, so your hair isn't flat on top of your head, plus it smells fantastic.

GREAT PRODUCT!
By Lush Fanatic
from Brooklyn,NY
Pros
- Absorbs oil
- Leaves Hair Nice Smooth
- Nice Bottle And Packaging
Cons
- Difficult to apply
- Leaves Gray Tint
- Need To Work Into Hair
Best Uses
- Absorbs Oil
- For Oily Scalp
- No Washing
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
You apply this product to your scalp directly or into your hands and work into hair. It leaves a gray tint so the darker your hair the more increments you use it in. If you have dark hair put in a little at a time and work it into your hair. It will smell like lush when you first use it and a you keep smelling it, it will have a fresh citrus scent It smells like lemons and limes, more eon the lime side. It's a good product and it helps absorb natural oils in your hair, until you have time to wash it. The only really bad thing about this product is that i wish it had a different application way.

Oil Hater!
Pros
- Great smell
- Oil absorbing
- Refreshing
Cons
- Application
- Packaging
Best Uses
- Between washes
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
Here's the deal. My scalp is SUPER oily. As in, my hair looks like a wet seal's by the end of the day. As in, I could start an oil refinery in my skin. You get it. This stuff works like a dream. Anytime I need a spruce up for some volume or to get rid of the unwanted oil-shine, I get some of this stuff rubbed into my scalp and use a hair brush to get rid of the excess. The problem is that the bottle is made for liquids. It's not ideal, in fact, is not appropriate for powders. So it's difficult, almost impossible to get the powder on your head evenly without getting some on your hands and massaging it, at which point, your floor is wearing more of this than your head or hands. There's gotta be a better way, Lush! In the meantime, I got a whole bunch of this stuff into one of their body butter tins, washed and dried an old make up (compact)puff, and use that to apply. Goes on evenly, not as messy, because it's not running through my fingers, and perfect storage too!

Not great with long hair
By Van
from Detroit, MI
Pros
- Smells Great
Cons
- Hard to use
- Messy
- Not Great With Long Hair
Best Uses
Comments about No Drought dry shampoo:
I think most of my issues with this product have more to do with my hair than the product itself. I have very thick, waist length hair. A lot of people said it added volume to their hair, but I think my hair is just too long and heavy for it have much effect. Also, for the life of me I can't figure out the best way to use it. I tried putting in on the my hands and running it through, as well as actually shaking the powder on to my head, but again I think I just have way too much hair to easily run it through evenly over the top of my scalp/hair to absorb the greasy.
While I'm not crazy about other brands, I think I will have to stick to the ones I can spray on my hair, at least until I come up with a good way to use No Drought.

A:
I have dark, dark brown hair (nearly black) and it works well for me. If I'm feeling particularly self-conscious about the powder showing, I mix a tiny bit of cocoa powder in with the No Drought to darken it up. Also, if you're unsure about committing to buy it, I would suggest trying it in the store (if you can) or even using a similarly colored/textured item to test it out! For this, I'd say a little bit of powdered sugar would be a reasonable substitute - just to check on the color, that is.Answered on 7/11/2012 by Alyssa S. from Portland, ORA:
It does work on darker hair but I would recommend if you have dark hair to keep a natural bristle brush handy. Put some No Drought in your hair, as close to the roots as possible then let it sit for a couple of minutes (while you brush your teeth or something) then comb out the area you put the product with the natural bristle brush. Hope this helps!Answered on 3/3/2012 by Jenni from Salt Lake City, UTA:
If your wondering if it leaves a gray like color on your hair, it doesnt bc i have dark brown hair and i use it. Now if your wondering if it removes the excess oil properly then I have to say that it depends on the amount of product you use (more is better).Answered on 2/24/2012 by MD CP from Santo DomingoA:
Yes it does! I have blackish-brown hair and use this couple times a week. Massage it into your scalp and then brush your hair well--that's what works for me.Answered on 3/9/2012 by Lush Lover from IndianaA:
It might make it slightly grey. However, that is just blending it with your hands. If you want maximum blending, use a bristle brush. It should be fine then.Answered on 3/13/2012 by Tim from VirginiaA:
i can't give a definite answer for your hair style since mine is brown, thin and straight. but for me i get absolutely none.Answered on 4/13/2012 by M.R. from Brick, NJA:
It does work on darker hair - I have very dark brown, almost black, hair. You will have to do a little more brushing or rubbing to get it to blend in, but it does eventually disappear. I read a review from someone that said she wouldn't suggest it for dark CLEAN hair, because it needs something to soak it up, but I have used this product many times with success.Answered on 4/19/2012 by probablyjess from St. Louis, MOA:
I have chestnut brown hair and it seems to work fine. You have to be very gentle when sprinkling it on so that you don't dump it all in one spot and once you brush through, it isn't noticeable. It works much better than any other dry shampoo I've used.Answered on 4/24/2012 by Spaceymacy101 from The Woodlands, TXA:
I have dark brown hair and can use this product. I do notice a difference in the shade of my hair on days I use it, but it's not obvious and doesn't look bad.Answered on 5/30/2012 by EmmiDahling from York, PA

I'm not quite sure how to use this product and I think I did it wrong the first time because it wasn't very evenly distributed maybe. Can you give more detailed instrucions? I have baby fine, medium length hair if that makes a difference.Asked on 2/20/2012 by AnonymousKnow the answer? Answer this question

Brush your hair first, making sure it's free of tangles. Then distribute a light dusting of the No Drought evenly through the hair and shake it through to ensure coverage. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, so it can absorb sebum from the hair. Finally, brush through the hair again to remove the powder. Voila! Fresh hair once more!Answered on 2/21/2012 by Megan from LUSH

Really depends on frequency of use. I only use about three puffs of the stuff. So, it could go quite a long way! Plus, it is better than all the other dry shampoos out there (I have tried quite a few!)Answered on 2/19/2012 by Amelia from Seattle, WA
