Q:How often should I use this product and based off that how long does this last if I used it that often?Asked on 5/24/2015 by Harshi
A:Ocean Salt has a 14 month shelf life which means you'll have it for just over a year. The longevity of the product depends on how often you use it - recommended once or twice a week.Answered on 5/26/2015 by Alexander from Lush Direct
Q:I've used this product twice and though I love the results, it tends to irritate my cheeks. I'm not sure if it's because these certain areas are too dry for the sea salt to be used on them (I have seborrheic dermatitis which causes these areas to peel), or if it's because this cleanser is too harsh. I haven't had any other problems in other areas. Should I stop using the product or should I let my skin get used to it?Asked on 5/21/2015 by The Darling Des from Brooklyn, NY
A:Your skin is probably trying to tell you that it is best to avoid the areas of the face where it is irritating you. This is not to say that you should discontinue use completely, I'd just recommend avoiding the cheeks!Answered on 6/1/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I have eczema, and I was hesitant at first to use this product. I tried it anyways (especially because it was a gift!) and loved the results. I have eczema in spots on my face too. At first, I felt that they were extra dry after I used the scrub, but I continued to use it and got great results fast. I started to use the scrub 3-4 times a week, and my eczema has actually cleared up as long as I continue using it. After I scrub with it, I gently dry my face with a towel and first use the Breath of Fresh Air spray and then either the Gorgeous or Skindrink moisturizers (both from Lush--both awesome). My eczema is actually clear now, and this combination has worked better than ANYTHING my dermatologist has prescribed over the years. Definitely continue with the scrub!!Answered on 6/1/2015 by Leah from Washington, D.C.
Q:3rd times a charm. I'm not interested in the alcohol free. I was comparing both the original and paraben free. I only care about the paraben free vodka infusion. They undergo the same infusion process yet the U.K version is about half as cheap. The U.S. original and UK original also price point wise match up the same, as in the U.K. is 50% cheaper. Same quantity, same size, maybe on ingredient is up higher in he list, but considering my background in natural and organic bodycare and being rather good at organic chemistry, cannot fathom the differences. I'm nto seeing an ingredient, like say, pure rose oil, that would price hike it considerably if even a tiny bit more was added. I wasn't referring to the alcohol free version at all. I'm comparing the same products on Us vs Uk. I'd rather not order all the way from the U.K. but it just seems based on the ingredients, my chemistry knowledge, and working of said ingredients there is literally 0 difference & its purely marketingAsked on 3/21/2015 by Cheesecake Goddess from Ithaca, NY
A:All of our ingredients come from local and grass roots suppliers from all over the world. In short, it comes down to where we source our ingredients from. Since we get a lot of ingredients from overseas, it costs more to get them over to Canada than it does to ship within Europe. For that reason we try to buy as many ingredients as we can locally, but since we buy the finest possible ingredients they often come from Europe, which is expensive.Answered on 3/22/2015 by Alexander from LUSH Direct
Q:What is the difference between the self-preserving and the original ocean salt? Which one would you prefer?Asked on 10/8/2014 by Oneida from Lowell, MA
A:To make Ocean Salt self preserving we had to switch up a bit of the ingredients! It now has silken tofu, japan wax, and mango butter! These ingredients tend to make the scrub a little more moisturizing and not quite as toning.Answered on 10/9/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
Q:How frequently should I use this product within the week? Is it okay for everyday use?Asked on 9/14/2014 by Alina
A:At LUSH we are not prescriptive, meaning we understand everyone likes to use their products a little bit different. Self Preserving Ocean Salt has japan wax making it gentler than its counterpart. As far as how often you can use it, the best recommendation we can give you is to listen to your skin. Try it twice a week and if you need a little extra scrub, add a couple more days to your regime.Answered on 9/25/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Is it gentle enough to be used in an everyday facial routine?Asked on 9/12/2014 by Lovelocke
A:I have sensitive and dry skin, which is partially due to my eczema. However, I use this scrub every single day, and my face has been better than ever. If it's safe for me to use everyday, I think it is safe for other skin types to do the same! But then again, everyone is different!Answered on 6/1/2015 by Leah from Washington, D.C.
A:It really depends on your personal skin. Some people can use it every day and others use it once in a while if it is too rough for their skin. Try it out and see what works best for you!Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous
Q:How long do i leave this product on my skin?Asked on 9/10/2014 by Yana guerra from Bakersfield, Ca
A:Ocean Salt is not a face mask. We recommend rinsing it right after you give your face or body a good scrub!Answered on 9/25/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Does the self-preserving version last any longer than the original Ocean Salt? I love the original, but wished that it lasted a little longer.Asked on 8/29/2014 by Meg in the Midwest from KC Area
A:Both the self preserving and the original Ocean Salt have a 14 month shelf life.Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous
Q:What does it mean by "self- preserving"Asked on 8/26/2014 by Marisa
A:Our self-preserving products have been reformulated so that they don't have any synthetic preservatives in them. Each one has been expertly rebalanced with natural preservatives to discourage bacteria growth, making them entirely self-preserving.Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous
A:This means that there are no artificial preservatives in the product. Likely a few of the ingredients included already serve as a natural preservative, so it preserves itself, therefore there is no need for additional artificial ones.Answered on 9/10/2014 by Lushie from Texas
