After just one regimen of Ocean Salt, my face was smooth, glowing, and the acne was disappearing! Since then, I've used it daily with Vanishing Cream. Together, these two products have done for me what at least fifty different products over the last 15 years have failed to do! My blemishes and acne scars are slowly disappearing, and I don't get acne flare-ups, even during stressful periods or "that time of the month".
Even my husband loves Ocean Salt for his face!
It's amazingly gentle enough for face, but also works on rough foot patches too!

I wouldn't say my skin is really that sensitive, but this product made me think again. I used Ocean Salt once a week but every time I used it, it left my skin, yes clean and feeling soft, but very irritated and I'd break out quite a bit.
I really wanted to like this product because 1) it smells sooo darn good 2) I'd heard so much about it and 3)I would say the price for the small 3.4 oz. jar seemed quite unreasonable and I actually went out of my way to buy it anyway.
With all the hype behind Ocean Salt I was prepared to love it, but the results just didn't cut it.
Maybe it's just MY skin.... so maybe...I just might recommend it to a friend, but I'd warn them to test it out beforehand for it really depends on our skin.

This is a great multi use product. I use it to cleanse my face about twice a week and alternate Angels on Bare Skin and Aqua Marina in between and my face looks great. I also use this to exfoliate my legs before shaving and to soften up my feet along with the rest of my LUSH must have pedicure products.
A little will go a long way so there is no need to over indulge. If your skin is sensitive (like mine), maybe use it 1-2 times a week on the face and don't scrub too hard, you really don't need to anyway. Just soft smooth circular motions and rinse well. This leaves my skin clean and glowing every time.

That moment when you're in the middle of the ocean, and you can't see the shore except for faint sand, and you breathe really deep, eyes closed. You're invigorated and the salt smell is intoxicating.
I get that every time I use this. When I just wash in the sink it doesn't happen, but if you get the shower hot and rub it on your face, then shut your eyes and wash it off you'll know what I mean.
This product really gets into your pores so I only use it once a week.
Quick tip: When you put it on and there's a spot on your face that needs cleansing it will tingle, and I usually don't wash it off from there for a while and then it feels really good when I do wash it off.

I have a thing with scents being on my hands or face and even scents I like I generally can't use because they bug my sensitive nose.
I don't have that problem with ocean salt because it's just so refreshing I could dive right in it. It doesn't smell fake or perfumey.
I also break out a lot with stress or hormones, but my face is so much smoother and clearer no matter what's going on in my life now. I use it twice a day and it's become my one lavish 'me' thing. I usually don't spend this kind of money on things for myself, but the sheer enjoyment I get washing my face morning and night is worth every penny.

I have been using this scrub for about 6 months now, and I am in love with it. Everytime I run out I buy more. It has made my skin super smooth and has greatly improved the texture and my skin tone. I am not a huge fan of wearing makeup when I don't have a reason to, and I feel much more comfortable going makeup free after using this. It is not drying or irritating either. I have combination skin in the summer and dry skin in the winter, and I have used this during both seasons with no problems. It smells great too. I love that it exfoliates and cleanses at the same time, and it is gentle enough for everyday use - sometimes I even use it twice a day. I highly recommend this product, and I will be buying it as long as it's around (hopefully forever!)

I went to lush originally for dark angels, unfortunately it wasnt there so i got this instead. it smells awesome, my face is really soft afterwards and doesnt feel dry. i only use little on my face so its lasting a really long time too. only downside is it really stings if you get it in your eyes!

The first time someone tried this product on my hand at a Lush store, I immediately knew I needed this in my life!
I love everything about this scrub, especially the way it smells. I'm very into citrus scents and this one smells like lime and salt (almost like a margarita). Come join the joyride!! I have tried a lot of other facial scrubs and cleansers, just to get that youthful glow that you only have when you are 18 or pregnant. I am a total budget buyer but the money I have spent here at Lush is money well spent. Especially when you compare it to all the money wasted on the other things bought up to this point. I have sensitive, black head prone skin and I have not found a single product that removes my blackheads and polishes my skin to it's former peaches and cream tone. I use it in the shower after I have used rub rub rub on my body while I am waiting for Ro's argan to soak in. I use a little on my finger tips and wash the face and neck. Rinse, follow up with eau Roma toner and full of grace serum after the shower and my face is soft clean and radiant!! No redness and all that dead skin that collects on the sides of my nose GONE!! My pores even shrunk! The only thing I can say that is even remotely negative about this is that it burns a little when it gets in the eyes. But that is just user error! THANK YOU LUSH!

This is the product that started it all for me! My friend let me use hers when getting ready for a double date once and it launched me into Lush obsession. I use it for a different reason than other people on here though. Yes; it works wonders for those stubborn dry patches on your elbows and knees (one of the only times I use it daily is when those appear, otherwise it's twice a week). It smooths out your entire body after one use. BUT, it also is wonderful those with eczema. When I have an eczema breakout I use it on those areas daily as it allows the cream my doctor prescribed to me to sink even fully and gets rid of those dry, rough patches that itch like none other to boot. To balance out the skin afterwards I use the lotion listed and this system has worked where traditional medicines alone have failed. Before it took up to a week for my medicine to work, not it only takes 24-72 hours depending on the severity. I've already told all my friends that have eczema as well so they can have clear beautiful skin too!

I use this twice a day and it has almost entirely eliminated all of my acne problems. It exfoliates, so there will be that occasion deeply hidden black head that comes to surface but it leaves my face clean and fresh. If you are like me and seem to have a durable face that could soak in alcohol for an hour with nothing happening then you don't need a moisturizer, I personally don't use one with this product unlike many other users. It is wonderful. I bought the smaller size and I am afraid after a week and a half I am one or two weeks away from being half gone, so muster up the extra cash and pay for the larger size, its on my birthday list.

I love this cleanser with all my heart. It smells amazing and it feels even better. It gives a minor tingle sensation at first, but it goes away after a few minutes. It really leaves your skin feeling clean and very soft. I have (had) really bad acne and most of my scars have actually gone away with this and my acne is beginning to go away. I was unsure of this at first, but after a while I realize that it is the best purchase.

I don't mix mine since I use circular motions to gently scrub it into my body. I do, however, make sure to scoop a little bit of white and blue every single time. When you scrub in circular motions it allows the product to mix together on its own, especially when you go over everywhere more than once. I usually do two or three passes (sometimes it requires additional product, but I try to work fast enough as to where it's not needed). The salt definitely starts to dissolve as you work the scrub into the skin. The length of time really depends on the temperature of the water you use, as well as the intensity of the scrubbing. This product is a very deep and thorough cleanser, with lots of ingredients to exfoliate, and ingredients that naturally contain alphahydroxic acids, which help remove dead skin cells and make the skin look fresh and bright. It won't be able to remove the scarring, but it can help diminish the appearance. I usually start with a regular cleanser to get make up off first, preferably something super gentle (aqua marina?) because ocean salt can be harsh.
After that, I actually recommend applying it to DRY skin, in firm circular motions, then rinsing off with warm water and patting dry. I recommend first steaming your face to open up your pores. Then, take a small scoopful of Ocean Salt (a little goes a long way) and using your fingertips, scrub it all over your face (avoiding eyes) in a circular motion. I would not use the Ocean Salt to shave your legs, as this might sting! You could use it before shaving to exfoliate away dead skin cells for a closer shave, but I would highly recommend using one of our shaving creams such as Prince, Ambrosia, Shave the Planet or Razorantium for shaving. Ah! This sounds like Oceany Flutter! This is when you take a dab of Ocean Salt, and mix it in your palm with an equal amount of Lemony Flutter. Make it into a paste, and scrub your hands with this mixture, being sure to focus on dry, scaly areas. Now rinse it off, and pat your hands dry. What are the consistency and color of this product supposed to be like? The first one I bought was bright blue and had a very scrubby texture but with finer salt and was thicker overall once stirred. The one I just bought yesterday had much coarser/chunkier salt and was a very very light blue with a creamier texture once stirred. It looked like the very top layer was blue with the chunky salt and underneath was white cream. There was a change in the suppliers of salt used at one point, I believe, however both descriptions you've provided do sound normal for the Ocean Salt. If the blue topping gets mixed in during transit or something like that, the rest may appear bluish, or if it doesn't get stirred, the blue will stay at the top until its stirred. There are two types of salt in it- both coarse and fine sea salts, mixed with lots of emollient coconut oil which can give it a slightly creamy texture.Answered on 4/11/2012 by Megan from LUSH

Ocean Salt has a shelf-life of 14 months, so you have lots of time to use it up. We do not recommend using the products after their expiration dates, as they are only designed with enough preservatives to keep them safe up until that point, and not after.Answered on 2/27/2012 by Megan from LUSH

For most skins, we recommend giving it a day or two between uses. This is because the Ocean Salt is very exfoliating meaning it polishes away the dead skin cells on the skin's surface.If you scrub too much, the cells don't get a chance to replace themselves, and the result can be excess oil production, or the skin may be dried out or irritated.
