Phoenix Rising
How to use How it's made
Fill your bathtub with warm water, drop in the Bath Bomb and lay back to enjoy its lovely color and gorgeous fragrance. Some LUSH Bath Bombs contain flower petals and others have secret surprises (if you prefer not to have these pieces floating in your tub, wrap the Bath Bomb in a recycled nylon before use). To make your experience even more memorable, combine your fragrant Bath Bomb with a Luxury Bath Melt.

Spicy cinnamon fizzer

If you've ever read the LUSH We Believe statement on our bags or here on our website, you may remember the bit that says, "We believe in the right to make mistakes, lose everything and start again." This Bath Bomb is a tribute to our belief that great things can rise out of the ashes, just like the mythical Phoenix. Royal purple and gold-dusted, with a cinnamon stick in the center, this gorgeous bomb sinks to the bottom of the tub when you toss it in, and slowly rises up, fizzing out a spicy apple and cinnamon scent.

Features

  • Spicy and fruity: The Phoenix has a refreshing orangey twist to lift your spirits.
  • Baby, it's cold outside:Perfect for warming up in the tub on a crisp autumn or winter night.
  • Sparkling cinnamon fizz: The spicy scent of cinnamon is excellent for stimulating tired minds and bodies.

I just used this! (: it smells like fruit and cinnamon and kind off creamy . It's a strong smell so if you smell it too much it's sickening but it does smell great. When you drop it in your bath it sinks and purple comes out of it (and also the gold luster) then bam! it pops up and green comes out. Your bath is still purple though. It was amazing and it makes your bath a deep purple. It also has a very light smell in the bath. If you hold it and mess with it your fingers may become a hot pink color.. and if your bath has residue it might stick to your bath. But my bath was clean (: I paired it with a tiny bit of the comforter just for a small amount of bubbles. This was so moisturizing! I Really like this.

Remember that box of 124 crayons you had as a kid? And, do you remember that one crayon, Blue Cornflower, that was so waxy that it almost had no color or vibrance? That is the color this made my water. It did add a lot of oils to the water that worked quite well on my skin (which always means tub reside but it completely worth it to me), but the color was just a greyish blue and there wasn't any glitter in the one I had.

To be fair, when I was in Lush today, I asked about the darker purple Phoenix Rising that had no glitter and the clerk told me that sometimes they just come out a different color. I suppose I should have gone with one of the more pinky-purple ones with the glitter on it but, as a major Lushie, I was intrigued. Meh to the color my water turned. Yes, maybe the batch I picked was a fluke, but I was completely unimpressed.

Also, I can say that I have tried every other bath ballistic we can buy in the stores (and most of the retros) and I sort of knew from smelling it that this wouldn't be my thing before I tried it. It's not. BUT, I can see how others would like this smell. (It reminded me of Amish applebutter; not my favorite). Maybe, in the autumn, I'd like this a tiny bit more?

Nevertheless, the icky color may not be the usual and the smell might be something others would like (and it was a moisturizing bath). I'll just not buy it again. There are just too many other Lush ballistics that I'm totally in love with. I was tempted to give this two stars but I'm pretty sure others might like this scent and that the color was a "oops" batch? Either way, I wish I'd spent my money on something else.

Yummy for My Skin

Pros

  • Not Too Glittery

Cons

  • Long Fizz Time
  • Residue on Skin

Best Uses

Comments about Phoenix Rising bath bomb:

Alright, I'll be honest. I wasn't fond of the scent at first when I got in the bath, but after a while it grew on me and I like it. A lot. The bath bomb made the water a nice shimmery purple, that wasn't too overpowered with glitter (not a fan of glittery baths). I was quite surprised at how moisturing it was for my skin...almost too moisturing! After I got out of the bath my skin felt slightly sticky and it took some time for the moisturizers to absorb into my skin. The scent stayed on my skin, which is a plus. The only other problem I had with this bath bomb was that mine too a little too long to fizz out. I had to drain out some water and refill the tub to make the water warm again. I probably would give this bomb a two star rating if I didn't like the smell so much. I think I'd only purchase this bath bomb once in a while.

Comments about Phoenix Rising bath bomb:

I LOVE this product. It is my favorite scent and color. It spins around and i stared at it during the whole time it was running. At the end it unexpectedly fizzed blue and made quite a sight. It had just the right amount of sparkles and it turned my bath a deep purple.

Emotional ascension in glittering ashes

Comments about Phoenix Rising bath bomb:

My first Lush bath bomb experience. I was once told this is the Beyonce of bath bombs, so when my boyfriend took me to Lush earlier today so I could finally indulge in these famed bath enhancers, Phoenix Rising was absolutely the first on my list. While I'm more of a fan of darker, musky scents, I couldn't help but be drawn to the cinnamon this bomb promised (as well as the glitter, but that's another thing altogether).

It was a really beautiful experience being surrounded by the deep purple of the water - I also had candles lit over me and to see the reflection of flames glittering in the golden hue the purple was giving off couldn't have been more theraputic. I found that this bomb sinked to the bottom of the water and then slowly darkened the water of the tub - I couldn't find the cinnamon stick until I drained the water, so the pieces weren't "distracting" me in this regard.

The scent couldn't have been more lovely, I really felt like a Halloween Queen surrounded by the warmth of the cinnamon and various other spices. The bath had a beautiful softening effect on my skin that my boyfriend fell in love with one I got out of the tub and dried off. He was also very enamored with the scent, smelling me every couple of minutes, so I'd say this bomb was a hit beyond my imagination. During my purchase, I also bought Dragon Egg and Sex Bomb, and I'm so glad I chose this to be my first real Lushie experience. I'm officially an addict!

      Smells great

Comments about Phoenix Rising bath bomb:

I really liked this bathbomb. The smell is absolutely wonderful, and watching it fizz is so fun! It does have the potential to stain the tub, as some stray pieces of the bathbomb that don't fizz may stick to the side of the tub and leave a mark. I found this to be easily avoidable though, just splash some water so it fizzes before it can stain. When I got out, my skin felt so smooth and it left me smelling really nice. Overall, a really nice treat.

Although it took longer than I expected to "rise up", the effect was beautiful. It made the water a deep fuschia color, which complimented the sexy spicy scent perfectly. Afterwards I felt surprisingly energized and ready to conquer the day. Definitely worth it!

I loved this bath bomb. It was so much fun! I loved all the different colors and the smell was fantastic! I love bathbombs that are fun and ever-changing the more they dissolve in a bath.

That does mean that it's a bit of a clean-up, of course, but you have to go into a bath bomb adventure expecting some clean-up afterwards.

I love the smell of this. It smells like apple and cinnamon, those are not usually the scent I would go for but it was not too overwhelming. It was very moisturizing and the color of the water was so pretty it just made me want to stay in it longer. I felt like the cinnamon kind of soaked into my skin which was very relaxing and uplifting. Definitely great after a hard days work.

I had a bit of trepidation about this bomb since there were so many reports of too much glitter or a purple stain. But I was also really excited to try it because it sounds so cool! My fears were abated when I took my first bath with Phoenix Rising today. While it reminded me more of a witchy's cauldron than a flaming bird, this bath bomb was awesome. It did start off at the bottom of my bath tub, fizzing glitter and a murky purple color into the water and quickly dropping its tiny stick of cinnamon. It fizzed for quite a while, then rose to the top of the water, swirling a bit of witchy green into the brew. It continued to fizz for what seemed like quite a while, filling the air with its amazing, earthy apple scent and conditioning the water to a comfy softeness. When I was done, the tub was clean (except for a few tiny purple spots where I'd trapped a few pieces of the bomb behind my back). I love this bomb and will definitely repurchase.

Comments about Phoenix Rising bath bomb:

I filled the bath tub with warm water and then dropped this into the water, swishing the water a bit and then letting it sit until it dissolved.
This was my first time using a bath bomb or even a product with Lush and i'm definitely impressed!
The smell was fantastic and lingered throughout my studio apartment and my skin was soft for days afterwards.
My only complaint was the slight purpley residue left in the tub but a quick scrub with a wet paper towel got rid of it all!
All in all, I highly recommend this and can't wait to buy more. The cinnamon appley and even slightly tangerine smell was totally captivating and with how soft my skin felt afterwards, it was definitely worth the purchase.

This was my first Lush bath bomb--my first Lush purchase--and I loved it! The smell is very uplifting and energizing; before using it, I thought I would pass out in front of the computer within an hour, but with its help I was able to keep going for several more! So, maybe not a bedtime bath bomb, but one for recharging after a long week.
The only negative thing I can say about it is that it was my skin was a little sticky after using this, so I had to rinse off.
The only reason I wouldn't buy this the next time I go to Lush is because I want to try the other beautiful, brightly-colored things first.

I liked this bath bomb for the smell. It didn't really soften the skin. I liked the concept of it sinking and then rising (like a phoenix) and it accomplishes that with the center part being a different kind of fizzer then the outside part (the center is green colored).... I thought the color that it made the water was cool (purple) and all but I can tell it would stain the tub if any of this bomb sat in one place for too long. I always end up taking bath bombs towards the end and just breaking them up with my fingers (I don't know why, just habit) and with this particular bomb it stained the tips of my fingers even tho I broke it up under water. So ya... don't really like the fact that the purple color is SO potent that it'll stain.

This was the first Lush product that I tried and I absolutely fell in love with it. Watching the water turn purple with gold swirls and the smell of cinnamon wafting through the house! The wonderful smell lingered for several days. I soaked for hours in my claw foot tub with this one!

I just got out of the tub, and I have to say, I think I'm in love! My boyfriend got me my first three bath bombs for Valentine's Day after I had been lusting after them for about a month (Big Blue, Sakura, and Phoenix Rising). After trying the first two, which were also amazing, I would have to say this one is definitely my favorite! I loved the scent of the bomb, and I noticed right away how silky it made the water feel. I stayed in the tub for an hour to get the most out of it. My skin is super soft and smooth, and I dunked my head under the water and it even made my hair softer! I love this product and will be buying it as long as Lush keeps it in stock!

Comments about Phoenix Rising bath bomb:

I have mixed feelings about "Pheonix Rising," mostly due to how it interacted with my sensitive skin. The Apple/Clove/Cinnamon fragrance is very strong in this Bath Bomb. This is great bath bomb for the Fall and Winter, perfect for getting in the mood for holiday festivities. Although I absolutely loved the smell, I could only use about half of this bomb at once, and even then it irritated my skin a bit. But if you are lucky enough not to have my eczema-prone, sensitive skin, I would definately say go for it.

This is one dramatic Bath Bomb! This long-lasting bomb dissolved into pink, purple, and seafoam green ribbons that settled into the rich royal purple colored water. My bath was flecked with shimmering gold sparkles, but these did not linger on my skin once I got out. There was a bit of purple residue on the sides of the tub, but it came right off after I sprayed the tub out with my showerhead.

All in all, I would recommend this to people without skin issues who love warm, vibrant scents. However, those with skin issues should proceed with caution.
