While this was advertised as a hand wash and I did use it as such to a satisfactory degree, I find it most useful as a facial cleanser! I manage to have sensitive, oily, AND dry skin all at once, and this lovely little putty kills pimples/zits AND leaves my skin feeling soft and properly moisturized. I love the feel of it on my face and it spreads very nicely. 10/10 will buy again!

A LUSH employee recommended this to me because I was looking for a sulfate-free soap. Turned out pretty good, I must say. The smell isn't really my speed, but it grows on you, and lasts a long while.

Like several of the LUSH soaps, they are kind of fragile, and you have to take care that it doesn't crumble away and that you use it the right way to get the most out of your product. I don't spend more than 10 minutes in the shower, so my soap generally gets me pretty far.

Overall though, this soap was more moderately priced that several others that smelled nicer (but I wasn't able to use due to sulfates) and has a nice little bit of grit that is a gentle exfoliant. I will probably get this again, and would recommend it.

So sad that my local store is no longer carrying Putty as it wasn't selling well...if that's the case it wasn't being highlighted or showcased well. If people really knew the information about this cleanser, they'd buy it! I use it as a solid, get it wet then rub between my hands to create a "milk" that cleanses AND moisturizes the skin. It doesn't lather (there aren't any lathering agents) so don't knock off stars for that - that's the point. It does exactly what it says it will do - even washes away the heavy scent of Thai food.

Also, I sometimes forget to use lotion and during the winter months, my hands' skin gets so dry and cracks open. This cleanser helps to relieve the dryness and it even feels like I have a layer of lotion cuddling my mitts.

I am a manual barista at a very very busy coffee shop in and I come in contact with over 500 people a day. I try and wash my hands like every 5th person. Ever since I got pink eye from a customer I have been paranoid beyond belief and my renewed handwashing habit reflects that. I bought some putty for your hands after using it in a lush store and it feels AMAZING! AMAZING!!! ( did I say AMAZING??) its crumbly chalky goodness that cleans my skin well without drying it out. I have tons of callouses on my man like hands but MAN HANDS NO MORE!! putty has reclaimed my femininity!!

I purchased this soap as a stocking stuffer for my darling little sister. When I used it, I was surprised at how much I liked it! This soap is actually super fun to use! You're washing your hands, a tedious, necessary act that one doesn't think much of. Using this soap makes such a mundane activity much more amusing. It's a little like playing with a combination of play dough and clay. And the moisturizing effect makes your hands smooth and supple.

The only thing I have to say that isn't positive, is that it gets a little messy where you keep it. I would suggest using a basic soap dish to keep the ledges of your sink a little cleaner.

I tried some of this after I purchased it for my sister, and I really did not like it. It doesn't lather well at all, which I understand is stated on the product, but I feel as though I am not getting enough to really clean myself. I also find it a bit messy to work with and hard to really spread all over where it needs to go. It leaves a stick residue after rinsing off, and I don't feel any moisturizing effects from using this soap. I think I am more of a lather soap girl, so I wouldn't consider buying this again.

I used this product for hand washing and it didn't lather, rather it kind of coated my hands with thick oily clay. It dried out my hands. It's messy and not so great smelling.

I'm really glad I tried this...I didn't think it was possible for hands to feel soft and moisturized after washing them, but Putty for Your Hands has been quite effective at that. There is also some novelty in the fact that it doesn't lather and you break off small pieces to use rather than running the whole bar over your hands (mine would fall apart if I did that).

The only difficulty is that it takes a bit longer than a normal bar of soap would; opening and getting that small chunk out of the container. But I'm not in too much of a hurry on a daily basis so this does not deter me.

The smell is so unique! Kind of herby, earthy (in a clean way). Good product, in my opinion!

I have received samples of Putty with my last two Lush orders. I would highly recommend trying this hand soap! It smells a bit like Angels on Bare Skin or Fresh Farmacy, and it feels amazing! Reminds me a lot of the cleansing process of AOBS, just for your hands instead! Leaves your hands clean without drying them out. The moisture soaks in and lasts long after you wash with Putty. This would be an absolute dream for winter washing :] just pinch a piece off of your bar and create a paste, wash, and admire your beautiful, soft hands!!!

Usually Teatree is for facial skin care. But I am glad that Lush decided to give some of its benefits to our hands, too. It smells very refreshing, and my hands feel so clean afterwards.

Sometimes I do want some floral soap. But this makes a perfect soap for summer.

I am a nurse and I have very dried hands. The hospital's soap is very drying and so is frequent washing. I have tried many soaps and lotions and this does cleanses Nd softens my skin. I keep a tin in my locker and use this a few times whenever I can at work! A hand saver!!!!

This stuff is unassuming, but fantastic. It cleans your hands and has a nice strong lavender smell. But it leaves this amazing non-greasy, long lasting moisture. And usually when stuff says non-greasy, fast absorbing on lotions, it's still too much for me. But with this your hands will feel soft, and immediately non-greasy. Fantastic if you are someone who has to wash your hands a lot, like a nurse, etc.
Only thing, is I would def. crumble and keep in a container to use. Thats how they showed me in the store. I don't know how the brick would work out, but I imagine it might disolve quickly.

An associate at the Lush store in Chicago approached me and offered to wash my hands with this soap. I suffer from eczema and psorrias on my hands and they are forever red, cracked open and scaly so I was far from optimistic when she was washing my hands. After the hand washing she followed up with Helping Hands, and all I can say is WOW. I bought both the soap and lotion that day, and by the next all of the cracks on my fingers were gone. I use this on a daily basis, and one week later I feel like a new person. It is such a delight to not have constant pain on my hands from the cracking and itching. Truly amazing products, I am hooked for life! Thanks for coming up with something that really works. You should spread the word to dermatologists since they have never found or prescribed anything for me that actually worked!

I love Lush moisturizing hand creams and lotions, but since I've started using the iPad a lot, they're a drawback, as they sometimes leave overly visible fingprints on the screen. Putty for Your Hands allows me to get soft clean hands without a moisturizer, and no messy fingerprints! I still use the moisturizers at night and other times, but during heavy iPad use this one's a real benefit for me. Just what I needed - so glad the Lush store rep demonstrated it with me, as I was almost about to leave without even knowing about it.

I just used this product for the very first time, and it's awesome! It smells GLORIOUS, and that's one of my favorite things about it. It also softens skin after the very first use. I used this on my feet/ankles, hands, and face. For me personally, I will use this on my face in the winter when my skin dries out more, but during the summer it's not necessary. But back to the smell, I love that I can still smell it after rinsing it all off. It's a very relaxing lavender scent!
Also, I wasn't sure where to stick this into the review, but I just want to say that this product breaks apart kind of easily. So you can chip off a few smaller chunks and add water and it helps to spread it faster, in my opinion.

I'm a hairdresser, so my hands take more than a fair bit of abuse. They're constantly in water, or hand sanitizer, or some manner of chemical seeps under my gloves (or I'm washing some poor soul's hair with a chemical-laden shampoo), and they've been nicked, and calloused in a couple places. So I was super-excited to try this stuff out, and it does not disappoint! It doesn't really lather so much as just go creamy, but it washes off clean and leaves hands feeling moisturized. The scent is pretty hard for me to smell, just faintly nature-y. Seems like it's going to last for a while, especially for such a soft bar.
*TIP: If it's crumbly when you get it, try getting it really wet for the first couple uses. Crumbles = too dry.

As soon as I discovered that Lush was coming out with a hand wash like this. I had to try it. I was so impressed with how smooth and moisturized this product makes my hands.

I go to art school as a Ceramics major, and my studio practice requires my hands and arms to be covered in clay and water constantly. I can't use soap in my studio because it dries my hands,and are always so dry and cracking at my knuckles even more. Its really painful at times, and my skin resembled an alligator. =[ Nothing has really helped before, any lotion i would put on would make my hands burn, and was really irritating for my skin. I am so thankful that this product is finally here!!
For the first time in months, i feel my hands have gone back to normal. I was convinced that there was nothing i could do. But my hands are way better than normal! and paired with Helping Hands, My hands have never been in better shape. This product is gentle, soothing, and very effective. Thank you so much Lush! for making my hands smooth and silky again!

I tried this in store and loved how smooth and soft my hands felt so I bought a small chunk for home. I work in a pharmacy so my hands get so dry from all the washing and handling of paper. So every day when I come home I use a little piece and massage it over slightly damp skin. When I rinse off my hands it's perfectly amazing. They feel soft and moisturized. The smell is very soothing too, smells like Angels on Bare Skin, which I use every morning.
I love it. It's one product I will keep buying over and over again. Good job on all the new products lately!

After playing with Sunny Side in my Lush store, I wanted all of the glitter off my hands. I tried this soap in store, and I thought, "How is this crumbly stuff going to get rid of all this glitter?"
I was amazed. It didn't lather, but when I rinsed it off, it removed every speck of glitter on my hands. I was blown away. It also really hydrated my hands. I heard that this was made for a Lush manager with dry hands. As usual, Lush is spot on with this invention.

I received this product as a sample, and I tried it the same day. I was told it was pliable, much like a putty eraser. So it was a bit disappointing when I took it out of the little yellow bag, and it immediately crumbled into a pile of mess in my hands. Maybe I got a sample that was a bit dried out? I dunno. But!! I pressed onward. I'm glad I did. The smell was amazing, and very soothing. And it left my hands feeling awesome! I work in a kitchen all day, so it's nice that after rubbing my hands raw with their soap, I can come home and repair the damage. Thanks, Lush! :)
