I recently henna'd my hair and purchased this product to preserve my hair after the henna process. I am pleasantly surprised by Reincarnate. I used Brun and Indigo henna for my hair. I have a lot of fine, long dark hair. My hair color turned out beautifully rich. Following up with this shampoo works well. It continues to add that 'henna' texture. I think it lathers well, and does a good job cleaning my hair. I have an oily scalp, and I am able to wash my hair the night before and not wake up with oily hair. I haven't decided if I need to add an additional conditioner. My hair seems the same with our with out conditioner. It smells earthy, which doesn't bother me. But the smell of henna doesn't bother me either.

Having very thick, long, dark hair I was concerned about getting this shampoo because it is a solid shampoo. After using it for a while I LOVE this shampoo! The first few times I used it I tried rubbing it in my hands and then rubbing my hands through my hair like you would liquid shampoo and this is very time consuming and doesn't really work. Just get right in there with it! Rub the bar right on your hair and scalp, all over and it takes very little time and lathers up great. After you rinse your hair immediately feels squeaky clean. When it dries it has a luminous shine. The smell is a bit overwhelming at first, but you get used to it and it's very subtle once your hair dries. This bar lasts a very long time, and since Iv'e started using it I have to shampoo my hair less often because it stays so clean. Excellent product!

I was trying to get away from traditional shampoo and switch to more natural products. I was a little hesitant to try this but thought I would give it a go. I wish I would have stocked up before it was sold out. I really hope it comes back in soon cause I will be buying several bars. I wash with it every other day. I swipe it across my hair a couple times, scrub it in and let it sit for a few minutes then scrub it out. It makes my hair so clean which means I need some conditioner on the ends, I use a different brand but I can totally tell the Reincarnate has given me shine, volume and softness and I don't suffer from itch and dandruff anymore which is a complete miracle. I can't get over how this has changed my hair. Even my husband commented on how thick and shiny my hair is now. Please please please bring it back in stock!

I've always lusted after this, looking at the site. The henna part seemed great for my hair but I was worried I would get a red tint- luckily (for me) there isn't enough henna in it to do that to my hair. HOwever, you can tell that there's henna in it because it deepens the color of your hair and adds weight, body and shine. So it is a good shampoo. It lathers very very poorly but really, shampoo doesn't have to have a lot of lather to clean well, something I've learned from sampling various shampoo bars that are good for black hair.

The biggest downside? The smell for sure.

It smells NOTHING like a spice market. At all. The upside is that it doesn't smell like Henna, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE spice/oriental/indian incense type smells and this has nothing going for it. Maybe I got a dud bar? It smells faintly sweet, almost fruity, and that's it.

Don't know if I'll buy again. I prefer Nag Champa indie shampoo bars to this. However, it does its JOB so I didn't take off more than one star. It's certainly not 'ordinary' and it can have great effects.

I just wish the smell was better.

It does not produce a lot of bubbles, but you do not need a lot of lathering for this shampoo. A little goes a long way. My hair had been very straight and puffy and dry. After using this it brought my hair back to life and actually brought my wavy hair back that I had when I was a little child. I later found out that was because it rejuvenated and changed the shape of my hair follicles which is what determined our hair types.

If you use the Caca Brun or Noir henna dyes, this shampoo is a MUST. It will keep your hair looking just as shiny and fresh as the day after your dye job. It doesn't lather well, and I find the Rhassoul mud to be quite heavy on my fine hair, but the shine and color boost are totally worth having to shampoo daily.

AWESOME new favorite product. It made my brunette hair so shiny like I just used a hair mask. Gentle enough that I use almost everyday. Awesome smell that lasts from shower to shower, I also notice my hair stays cleaner longer. I have long fine hair, and I cannot recommend this more to anyone. I use this shampoo with the new Big Solid Conditioner, I'm so in love, cannot wait to shower and wash my hair! The results keep getting better and better. I have found my new love. This product also rinses so clean, no residue.

I actually love this product. I have lots of fine textured and wavy hair. I used this without having died my hair and it seemed to keep sun bleaching to a minimum this past summer. I am excited to try this again after using Caca Brun in my hair. It may seem harsh in the shower, but I used it with Jungle hair conditioner and my hair came out great.

Reincarnate has transformed my hair into soft, full, dark chocolate,cherry coke color and has breathed new life into every strand. It is fuller and without a single flyaway. My hair has never been so smooth, shinny, nor has it ever looked this good. I could never go back to my old shampoo or hair. Who ever said being reincarnated was a bad thing?

I LOVE this shampoo! I have been using the same expensive salon shampoo for the past 3 years. I am now switching to reincarnate. This shampoo has made my dark hair glossy, voluminous, and frizz free. I have very sensitive skin, and using reincarnate every other day has made my once itchy scalp heal completely.

My boyfriend's not too sure about this one- his first impression was to ask why I bought fossilized poop- but I'm sold. My hair is a very well behaved, short, straight, and verging-on-mousy brown. I've never been picky about my hair products, but I am now!

I was a little nervous after sniffing the bar... very black licorice-y (and I HATE black licorice), but in use it's a much more mellow, pleasant spicy. A couple quick swipes and it lathered right up- you'll want to make sure your hair is really wet in order to get the best lather though. I let it sit while I shaved my legs, and it rinses great without the weird squeaky "too clean" feeling. No conditioner needed. I towel dried, went to bed, and in the morning my hair was SO shiny, voluminous, and soft.

I have medium length, brownish/black hair and I tried this for the first time today. I was a bit skeptical since I've never used a shampoo bar before, but it works great! The smell is very nice and not overpowering. I did use a conditioner afterwards, but I've never gotten good results after normal shampoos. This product made my hair very smooth and glossy. The lather is a bit so/so and I used a bit more than was instructed. As soon as I run out, I'm definitely buying more!

I absolutely love this shampoo!
It leaves my hair shiny and soft.
The only thing I don't like is the smell. It's not awful, but it's not totally pleasant either.
With that being said, I would definitely recommend this product for all the brunettes out there :)

i sincerely hope that this product being in the Retro section doesn't imply that it is discontinued and will run out of stock in future, because it is simply THE BEST shampoo i've ever used.

i have very dry scalp/dandruff and sensitive skin issues that i've struggled with for years. i won't say that this is curing my dandruff, but it doesn't leave me with that tight, itchy 'chemical head' feeling that one gets with so many products out there. i also have the kind of hair that suffers if any other products are put in it (conditioners, styling stuff) because it gets oily and dirty very fast, which necessitates daily washing that my scalp just can't handle. this stuff solves all of my problems! hair is soft afterwards, without need of conditioner and doesn't have that dry, frizzy feeling that requires products to paste down flyaways. i still have wild, bedhead child hair but at least it feels and looks clean and well cared for.

I was really looking forward to this product. I use Caca Rouge to Henna my hair, and I absolutely love it, so I thought that a Henna Shampoo would be the perfect thing. I tried it out as soon as it came in the mail and it didnt lather or clean at all... it just kind of crumbled.. I tried washing my hair with a different shampoo first to see if that would help and it still would not lather at all even though it only took two strokes of my other shampoo bar to completely lather my hair (which is about 4 inches past my shoulders). It left my hair feeling really dry and brittle and I had to condition it twice just to make it feel soft again.. This is the first Lush product that I haven't even liked a little bit... =( I would invest my money in something else.

**update** i have been using this since July, and i am well pleased!! this is just awesome..i don't have to use a conditioner when i use this!! my hair and scalp have gotten healthier, my hair is so shiny and soft (even though i color-treat it) and i can brush it without it frizzing! i just wash, and put some R&B in, and that's it. i just moved back to MN where we have hard water, and this even works great with the hard water. i will be ordering more here soon; have to stock up :D

This was the seccond solid shampoo I've tried, the first being Seanik. I'm not sure why, but I was expecting something similar in the way that they physically work (not with what they do to your hair). Seanik lathers like crazy, and the first time I used reincarnate I had no idea if it was working because it did not lather at all. But after I washed it out I felt the difference. I have extremely thin hair, which tends to dry out and get brittle pretty fast. I will NOT have that problem thanks to this shampoo. It's kinda crazy how moisturizing it was. So much so, that I don't even have to use a conditioner. The smell is alright, a little strong in solid form, but when it's in your hair it tones down. The way it makes my hair feel is lovely, very soft and silky. Hardly tangles.

At first, with the whole not lathering thing, and using it with conditioner which made my scalp weirdly greasy, I wasn't sure if I'd buy it again. But now that I've adapted and found better ways to use it, I'm sure I will.

I have thick long dark brown hair and I have been working on switching all of my beauty products to more safe and natural alternatives so I bought reincarnate with a 50/50 hope that it would work because my hair is so think and long it can overwhelm most products. well I was proved wrong reincarnate not only tackled my think long hair but best of all it improved and made it healthier. My hair is normally only this shiny the few days after i leave a salon and here in my bathroom mirror this brown chunk of deliciousness gave me that salon hair. I also used jungle the solid conditioner and the two products together have blown me away!! Thank you lush for these two amazing products!!

Let me start by saying that I was skeptical in using a solid shampoo. For many years, I've spent a good chunk of change on a higher end shampoo/conditioner and I really thought that was all I needed. As of recently, I've been using Lush products and came across this. I decided since my big name brand shampoo was almost gone, that I'd try this. Oh my god. Where has this been all my life? I'm in love with this shampoo. It smells great, lathers well (way better than I thought it would), and it leaves my hair so shiny. Since I have pretty thin hair, I really don't even use conditioner. I love this so much, and will not live without it.
