Serious conditioning for dry and frizzy hair
Retread is our super-smoothing conditioning cream that gives sad hair its shine and bounce back. Use it when your hair is feeling absolutely wrecked. This rich conditioner makes your hair look better, but more importantly, it moisturizes and feeds your hair the nutrients it needs. We use a blend of softening and hydrating ingredients, including seaweed, lanolin, fresh canteloupe and protein-rich yoghurt and soya milk to strengthen locks. Then we blend in olive, jojoba and avocado oils to give a truly deep condition. Together all these ingredients add up to a nutritious heavy weight conditioner. Put a plentiful helping on your hair and let it go to work.
- Rich and nutritious: Best for those with a serious need for a hair overhaul.
- A real heavyweight: Our thickest conditioner is protein-packed to strengthen dry and damaged hair.
- For your melon: Fresh cantaloupe eliminates oil and dirt with fruit enzymes and keeps locks shiny.

Q:I've never seen a conditioner with sulfates in it before, since these are used as lathering agents. Is this correct? Is there really sodium lauryl sulfate in this conditioner? If so, why?Asked on 8/14/2014 by Heather
Q:Is Retread a deep conditioner? For best results do I use it after shampooing (as a normal conditioner) or only a couple times a week?Asked on 7/17/2014 by happygolush from Colorado
A:Retread is a really moisturizing conditioner. Use as a regular conditioner, after shampooing. If it seems a bit too heavy for you, feel free to switch it up and use it once in a while, but if it works then it is totally okay to use every time you wash!Answered on 9/8/2014 by Anonymous
A:Hi! I use Retread every day, after shampooing, as a normal conditioner. I let it sit on my hair for a few minutes before rinsing it out, and I'm very happy with the results!Answered on 7/17/2014 by Anonymous
Q:I have very sad thin dry and over dyed hair and a sensitive scalp/nose. Is this product good for revitalizing my sad locks or is there something better?Asked on 6/27/2014 by Kitty from Las Vegas, NV
I also have dry and over dyed hair, but since I've been using either Curly Gurly (the coconut shampoo) or Blousey (the banana shampoo) and Retread, my hair has some body back. Be sure to let the shampoo work into the hair for a few minutes, then rinse and apply Retread. Allow Retread to soak in--I usually use my body wash & face cleanser, then rinse the Retread last. It hasn't worked miracles, I don't think anything can really change your hair texture, but it has restored the health & shine to my hair. Good luck.

A:I have the same hair type as yours! Dry, dead and dyed. I love Retread it definitely gives some life back in my hair without weighing it down. I also recommend using Roots, it's the best your hair will look and feel.

Q:Is this product suitable for color treated hair? I'm talking crazy colors- purple and magenta.Asked on 3/16/2013 by Nomi-omi
A:Great Question! Yes the Retread conditioner is safe for color treated hair. The nutrients from the natural yoghurt and the fresh melon will give your hair plenty of moisture without weighing it down and tons of shine with out washing away any color! I highly recommend the Retread conditioner.Answered on 8/20/2013 by Anonymous
A:I can't really say about the crazy colors part, but I color my hair once a month with NaturTint, a permanent, plant-based hair color. I had just colored my hair 5 days before I used Retread and no color came out when I rinsed it from my hair. Plus it seemed to intensify my hair color and make it look like I had just dyed it again. My hair was shiny and smooth after using itAnswered on 4/12/2013 by Ang from Long Beach,CA
Q:When I purchased this product my sales person told me to apply this product to my hair while dry then rinse. Is this the best method?Asked on 9/15/2012 by Karen from Amarillo, Tx
A:You can absolutely use Retread on dry hair, but the effects of it won't be reduced if your hair is already wet. Since many of us like to use conditioner right after washing our hair, it's very common to use conditioner on wet hair, and it's perfectly fine!Answered on 11/2/2012 by Brandy from LUSH
A:I was not told that, at least I don't remember it if I was. I have been using this in the shower after using the Rehab shampoo and I do not see a reason to use it on dry hair. (I was told to use the other conditioner with the crazy name on dry hair - and have used that one both ways, both have worked well.)Answered on 10/12/2012 by Melicious from STL, MO
Q:How many uses can I get from one jar? Does it work with blonde dyed hair?Asked on 8/26/2012 by Addy
A:The number of uses depends greatly on how much you use with each application, as longer hair may need a little more than shorter hair.
Retread is great for blonde coloured hair, as it will help to seal down the hair's cuticle, and minimize breakage which can occur as a result of colouring.Answered on 8/28/2012 by Megan from LUSH Direct
Q:I have thick, medium longish hair. How many uses can I expect to get out of one pot?Asked on 5/16/2012 by Sie by the Sea from Outer Banks, North Carolina
A:If you use it everyday you can get at most get probably a month's worth of use out of the pot. Depending on your application.Answered on 6/20/2012 by P.Y.Tatum from Glendale, CA
A:It all depends on how much you use and how frequently. A little goes a long way so you may get up to 12 washes out of it, but like I say it depends on how often and how much you use.Answered on 8/31/2012 by Anonymous
