Q:I have thin fine hair and I'm going to use this atleast twice a week. What sort of results should I expect? Will i see hair growth? Thickness? Please help thank you!!Asked on 7/16/2015 by HairFanatic
A:When I have used this product twice a week, I have noticed that my hair
feels softer, stronger and looks healthier overall. With it being
healthier and stronger, it did help it grow. Hope that helps! I really
love this product.Answered on 7/20/2015 by Anonymous
A:It will definitely add volume and help your hair appear thicker! It works by helping your scalp clean and healthy.Answered on 7/17/2015 by Pauline
A:Yes! You'll see both hair growth and some thickening from using Roots regularly. Now, it is not a medicine or a miracle drug, so you may not notice anything right after the first few applications (aside from the great smell! It's like a day at the spa!). I would say in about a month is when you'll really notice a big change in your hair. I think that is because the scalp stimulation takes a while, and also your head's "ecosystem" takes a while to adjust to a healthier pattern of growth from the stimulation. If you also take an additional step, like drink more water and take a multivitamin, these will also enhance your hair growth and thickness - every little bit helps!
When I use Roots for a while, I also notice shine and bounce in my hair increase as well - overall it just looks and feels better! I hope this helps and good luck!Answered on 7/17/2015 by BrisusCheez from EST USA
Q:Can I leave it in over night?Asked on 7/9/2015 by haley from Houston Texas
A:The recommended usage is to leave is on for 20-30 minutes, so I wouldn't leave it on overnight as it won't be more for your hair than the intended usageAnswered on 7/12/2015 by Haley from Lush Direct
I wouldn't recommend leaving it in all night :)
it could get a little messy and really it wouldn't do any more work on your hair after the recommended amount of time on the pot.
Hope this helps!

Q:Will my hair eventually be healthy enough that I won't have to use this product anymore or is it something I have to lean on?Asked on 7/2/2015 by Kenzie
A:Roots is made to revitalize the scalp, which will make for healthier hair! You shouldn't have to lean on it as your hair becomes healthier.Answered on 7/4/2015 by Sal
A:Hi! I think the big thing about Roots is it is great at getting your hair to be stimulated and grow naturally, but it will be something you'll need to consistently use to get the benefits. If you are looking for something that you get "get and then quit" I fear you may have to try something medical that will rebuild keratin, or take a multi-vitamin that stimulates hair growth from within. What Roots is good for, I find, is seasonal application. I notice my hair sheds pretty bad in transitional seasons like Fall and Spring. So that is when I want that extra conditioning from Roots along with that fantastic minty scalp stimulation. It works to clarify my scalp, soften up my hair, and I really do notice a difference in hair growth and thickness quality. But I also notice when I stop using it as well. I'm a bit budget conscious, so I don't splurge on Roots often, but if I understand your questions correctly, you'll need to make Roots a staple to your hair routine in order to get the best benefits from the product. If you are really having terrible hair problems (like thinning hair or hair loss), seeking out a dermatologist will be the best route.Good luck!Answered on 7/2/2015 by BrisusCheez from EST USA
Q:I tend to have oily hair, and cannot go a day without shampooing and conditioning it. If I wash my hair with roots, rise it out, then regularly condition it afterwards, will it leave my hair oily throughout the day?Asked on 6/10/2015 by ellie from chariton, ia
A:Roots is a hair treatment rather than a shampoo, so we don't recommend using it as a shampoo or using it daily. It is very nourishing and hydrating, so it would be quite heavy for daily use if you hair is already on the oilier side.Answered on 6/10/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I didn't use conditioner after using this. I think you will like it! The
smell is amazing!!!Answered on 6/10/2015 by Anonymous
Q:I don't need to wash my hair every day (I probably do it 2-3 times a week) so at what point of my wash cycle would this treatment be most effective- like should I do it with clean hair or when it's getting a bit greasy and Im about to wash it?Asked on 3/29/2015 by Erin
A:Hair treatments are best used on clean, dry hair, as it will allow the hair to soak up as much product as possible.Answered on 4/3/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I do mine when it dirty. But everyone's hair is different mess around with it and see what works for you! This products is my favorite. I have curlyish hair and it makes to clam and bouncy. Plus my scalp has never looked better when I stay on top of using this product.

Q:Do I really need to use half the pot on my long hair?Asked on 3/4/2015 by N/A from Dana Point, CA
A:Since you're only putting the product on your scalp and not on all of your hair, you should get quite a few uses out of the pot!Answered on 3/7/2015 by Meg from LUSH Direct
A:Heck no. I have long hair and I get
Many uses out of these pots. Normally though I keep this one on my scalp and then get another mask for the ends of my hair. This mask is so minty it's perfect for the roots. But as of your question no use as little or as much as you want. Enjoy
•Ariel Ketchner HarknessAnswered on 3/5/2015 by Ariel from Arizona
A:It depends on what you are trying to use it for? I use it to work on areas of my scalp where my hair is thinning. If you are using it for your hair and you have long or lots of hair then id say yes. If you are trying to use it to help your scalp I would say half the pot is a bit much.Answered on 3/4/2015 by Anonymous
Q:I started using Roots about a month ago.
I have also used H'Suan Wen Hua and I actually use Retread daily (or every other day) along with the cinnamon shampoo bar.
I have noticed some hair growth (I have alopecia-and after about one year of no hair growth in the front of my scalp, I was estatic that new hair is finally growing in!)
HOWEVER, I feel that my hair feels thinner and I feel like I lose more hair than usual when using the products.
Am I using too much product? I do use it according to the instruction on the bottles, but I am a little worried that these products are counteractive.
HELP!!! Suggestions?Asked on 1/29/2015 by Roo from Orange County
A:I definitely think that you may be using too much product. Washing your hair excessively is one of the main causes for hair falling out. I also think you should be using only one hair treatment a week so those great ingredients won't be counter-productive. I suggest washing your hair two to three times a week with your NEW! shampoo along with a lighter conditioner that won't weigh down you hair, something like American Cream. Then, I would recommend using Roots once a week to cleanse your scalp and encourage scalp health.Answered on 3/28/2015 by Pauline
A:Hi, I use Roots also, about once or twice a month. I also use Retread daily but I use either Blousey or Curly Gurly shampoo. Sometimes Big Salt (is that the name?).
I also seem to notice more hair loss, but I think it is from the vigorous rubbing and massaging I do with the products.
Did you know your hair changes structure about every 7 years?Answered on 1/30/2015 by Anonymous
A:I went through the same experience. Later realised that I have to be gentle while massaging the roots as they are weak. Rubbing the scalp vigorously when you have weak roots isn't beneficial. Try that and see how it works

Q:I have been bleaching my hair blonde for about a year now and have noticed my hair is thinning. Will this help stop the hair loss? Will it thicken my hair? Is it safe to use on dyed hair?Asked on 1/13/2015 by Lindsey from Leesburg, VA
A:Roots will help stimulate the scalp and give it everything it needs for healthy hair growth, but with that said, hair loss tends to be due to genetics and hair processing. Another tip is to work on adding nutrients to the strands themselves with hair masks, as they will strengthen the strands so you have less breakage.Answered on 2/15/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:All good hair growth starts from the root of the hair so if you take good care of your scalp your more likely to have amazing hair. This is an all natural product I don't see why it would hurt on bleached hair. I don't know if it will stop hair loss that's also a natural thing the hair does. Your going to lose hair daily. I would buy it to try out and also by another mask but the ultra thick one H'Suan wen hua and start putting that on your hair to repair the damage! Good luck!

Roots is a great pre-shampoo conditioner. I use it and I color my hair. I don't know if it will really thicken the hair shaft--does anything? But it smooths the cuticle so that the hair shaft is stronger.
By the way, I use Blousey shampoo on my colored hair. I too am blonde and the banana in Blousey keeps the color looking bright but doesn't strip the color.
Don't you love LUSH?

A:I used this for the same reason as you however, after my second use my hair was falling out in clumps in the shower so i would stay away from this product if i were youAnswered on 1/18/2015 by Emma from California
Q:Is this safe for colored hair, specifically red?Asked on 1/7/2015 by Casper :) from NY
A:Hi there! Yes Roots is great for dry, damaged, coloured hair, but I would also recommend using R&B Hair Treatment which is specifically for colour-treated hair.

Q:Is there a specific type of shampoo that needs to be used during the rinse, or does something less harsh need to be applied?Asked on 1/5/2015 by Peter
A:You're welcome to use whichever shampoo that you like, so there is no need to worry about using a certain type!Answered on 2/13/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:It's up to you and your hair type, my hair isn't oily ever so I normally use like Blousy because it's also conditioning and gives my curls extra bounce. But on days I want a more stripping less oil I but in retread. But another reason why I use this product is because I get head aches and the peppermint stimulate my head and makes them go away so that's another use if you want to try it out. But honestly keep with non stripping if you can because then there is no point in putting this lovely mask in your hair. Just listen to your hair and obviously don't use the whole pot be patient and work it in. :)

Q:Does this product ruin hair color? I dye my hair black and bleach it blonde as well.Asked on 1/2/2015 by Mxk from Ohio
A:Hi there! Thanks for your question!
No it wont ruin hair colour :)Answered on 1/2/2015 by Anonymous
Q:would this work better on greasy hair? or normal? i don't wash my hair every day. so i'm asking if greasy hair would improve the effects or not at all.Asked on 11/28/2014 by kay
A:This product is a treatment that is great for all hair types. Just make sure that you rinse it our well after use as it is a treatment not a conditioner. If you are worried about he olive oil inside making your hair oily there is SLS in the Roots formulation which is a sudsing agent which acts like a soap.Answered on 12/3/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Should I use conditioner after I shampoo this product out of my hair? Is it needed or will this product give me the feeling that conditioner does?Asked on 8/19/2014 by KyKy from NC
A:You can condition for extra moisture, but it's not necessary! You can also just use it as the conditioner and omit a regular conditioner.Answered on 9/25/2014 by Anonymous
A:You can do either. I use a light conditioner, rinse and then let Roots soak into just the top of my scalp while I finish the rest of my shower. I have alot of hair, but it is really fine and this product does not weigh it down. My husband works it throughtout his hair and uses it as a conditioner alone. Roots leaves your hair soft and your scalp feeling fresh and tingly. You can't go wrong either way.Answered on 8/19/2014 by Anonymous
Q:I leave Roots for 20 mins and then just rinse off without shampooing because i like how my hair feels just by rinsing it off. Would this damage my hair/scalp?Asked on 8/17/2014 by Athena from United States
A:Not at all! Do whatever works best for you, just make sure you are rinsing thoroughly.Answered on 9/25/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
Q:I have really sensitive hair that can break easily, and I've been trying to grow my hair out for a really long time, will this help it grow?Asked on 5/18/2014 by gabby
A:Roots will help condition and strengthen the hair. The peppermint will revitalize the scalp which can help encourage healthy hair growth but it won't necessarily help it grow.Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous
A:This will definitely make your hair stronger and shinier but you have to be really careful how you put Roots on. It kind of feels like soft wax when it's applied so don't try to comb your hair through. The best way for you would probably to divide your hair into sections and apply to each section separately, then massage your scalp a little and.. just kinda let your hair be. Tie it loosely or wrap it in saran wrap (as I do). The first time I used Roots I tried to comb my hair through with my fingers and I pulled handfuls of them out. I'm quite positive you'll like the results, though, Roots definitely delivers. A full head of shiny hair:)Answered on 5/19/2014 by Misia from OC
Q:Ho often should you use this product? and How do you store it?Asked on 3/20/2014 by Jevi from New York
A:I would recommend no more than once a week, but really you can use it however frequently works best for you! It is stable at room temperature, so you can store it where ever you would like.Answered on 3/21/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:Hey! I use mine about once a week and just store it in the tub in the shower. Nothing special. I also use it before shampoo and then I like to use something like the honey shampoo or Big to wash it out depending on what I'm doing afterwards.

Q:I was wondering if its a good idea to use the big shampoo after using the roots hair treatment or would that be too clarifying and counteract the product?Asked on 1/22/2014 by Hil
A:You can use any shampoo you'd like after using the Roots hair treatment! If you find that Big is too drying for your hair, Curly Wurly might be a good choice!Answered on 3/21/2014 by Brandy from LUSH
Q:I have afro type hair. I'm wondering: Could I use this as a conditioner?Asked on 1/5/2014 by Michelle from Broomfield, CO

Q:Will "Roots" eventually thicken my hair?Asked on 1/3/2014 by VickiLes from Suffolk, Va
A:While Roots does work to condition, strengthen, and add shine to hair without weighing it down, it will not thicken the hair, as the type of hair you have comes down to genetics. Roots does, however, work to provide volume and lift, which will give the hair the appearance of being thick!Answered on 3/14/2014 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I do not believe my hair did became thicker from using this product. However, it does look fuller.

Q:what result should I expect from "Roots Hair Treatment " product? Does It work for female loss hair pattern?Asked on 9/6/2013 by honey from flint, MI
A:Having a healthy scalp is like having good soil to grow veggies. Extra virgin olive oil and honey soften and condition hair to make it shine without weighing it down. Give dull, fine and thin hair volume and shine by treating it with Roots.
If you look in our customer reviews, you'll see that some customers have had a good experience with Roots in the case of hair loss prevention. Hope this helps!Answered on 11/21/2013 by Anonymous
