I hate styling my hair. HATE IT. I have wavy hair that I'm convinced has a mind of its own, and we seldom agree on what is an acceptable look to leave the house with. I keep it cut in layers that require little maintenance past brushing and a little product for hold. I was looking for a spray that didn't have aerosols and decided to try sea spray, and I will never use another product again! In the morning, I spray it on dry and scrunch with my hands to work it through--and that's it! It adds volume and defines my waves, keeping my hair frizz free ALL DAY. Even in humidity. Really. The scent is not my favorite, but once it was on my hair I didn't find it too strong.

Why does this only come in a small bottle? I've been using it for a week so far, so I can't say how long it lasts. But I plan on using it everyday, so 3.3 oz could disappear faster than my liking.

I have super fine, curly hair that loves to frizz without products. However, I hate the dirty, crunchy feel of product in my hair. This has been the PERFECT solution. It defines my curls, gets rid of frizz in dry or humid weather and leaves my hair feeling very natural instead of weighed down.

My curls are temperamental- in the winter my hair barely has a wave, but come summer (and humidity), I have beautiful bouncy curls. However, they fall out by the end of the day unless I put something in my hair, and I really am not a fan of how most curl products make my hair crunchy, greasy, or both. The best solution I had found was a smattering of jojoba oil, but I was always on the lookout for something better.

I got a sample of Sea Spray after looking on this website and seeing the great reviews. I spread the product evenly through towel-dried hair, scrunched my hair, and went to bed, spreading the hair on my pillow. In the morning my curls were phenomenal- big, bouncy, natural, without a hint of grease or crunch! At the end of the day when I finger-combed my hair, some pieces were stuck together and even a bit hardened, but nothing like most products. Plus I had nice curls/waves even after combing it out. I did notice that I really am not a fan of the smell (who are all these reviewers who love it?!), but I figured I could live with it. The next time I had a chance, I went back to Lush and bought a bottle.

I've been using the product for two weeks now. It still gives me great curl. In fact, it's one of the best curl products I've ever used. However, the smell is just too much. I feel like I'm being followed by a cloud of this cloying, heavy smell. It makes my nose itch. My best friend even commented on the annoying smell.

I can think of a couple reasons the smell bugs me while others like it. The first is that I dislike scented products. I never wear perfume, I prefer products without mystery "fragrance", and I hate it when my boyfriend wears deodorant (we only half-jokingly refer to it as "repellant"). The other reason is how I'm using it. If you want to use it as a scrunch spray, you'll need to apply quite a bit of it throughout all of your hair. Whereas if you are using it just as a hairspray or finishing spray (to reduce flyaways, say), you'll be using much less.

Unfortunately, until Lush makes a version without the strong smell, I'll have to pass on Sea Spray. Sigh.

At first I was not impressed with this product. I have long, fine, straight hair and it fell flat after a few minutes when I used it on my fully dried hair. I figured out the best way for me to use Sea Spray is by spraying it on my hair when it's damp and then blow drying. It gives my hair lots of body and makes it super shiny. Also, the smell is heavenly.

This stuff is wonderful after getting out of the shower when you have barely damp hair and you just don't feel like doing your hair and just want nice beach waves. If you're going out, I suggest it doing early on so that the "residue" sinks in, because i disappears after a tiny while on dry hair, but I've never had residue when I apply it while wet.

OMG! I bought this as I had run out of my mouse. As I love LUSH products, I figured I would give it a try. Boy am I glad I did. It is very effective and works better than other products I have tried. It holds my fine hair wonderfully and even seems to act like a leave in moisturizer. The absolute best part is how wonderful it smells. I highly recommend this product both for it's effectiveness as well as its scent.

I really like this product-it smells great and does tame flyaways without the stickiness or chemicals of hair spray. I have SUPER thick wavy hair and I far prefer this to generic hairspray. I definitely recommend it!

So I tried this product two different ways.

First I used it on dry hair, then I used it on damp hair.
Both were ineffective, both made my hair look and feel majorly dirty.

Unfortunately I have hair that is in between wavy and curly, its frizzy, temperamental, super long, and it changes its mind easily. I really wanted this product because its made of sea water and sea water makes my hair feel nice. This did not do that. It gave my hair a really odd texture and it actually weighed it down, it also made it more tangly than it usually is (which I didn't think was possible).

This just didn't do anything for me. Which is sad, because I love the smell. Seriously, best scent ever.
I gave it two stars because the scent alone deserves that.

Lush should make this a perfume or something.

I typically don't use a lot of styling product, because my hair is fine and long, and pretty much anything makes my hair go limp and frizzy. Sea Spray is the PERFECT solution for me! It tames most of my frizziness, gives me a boost in volume, and it smells amazing... a little floral and a little citrus. I do wish the smell were a little more neutral (I've had "ocean water" products in the past which were more just salty smelling), but I like it anyway and it's not overly perfume-y. I blowdry my hair until mostly dry, then spritz and scrunch and let my hair air dry the rest of the way... perfection. And it seems like even the small bottle will last quite awhile, so compared to similar products on the market I think this is a great bargain.

Although I love the smell of this product most of the time I use this it makes my hair more frizzy than before. I also have red hair so it's very obvious when I have fluff or flyaways.

I usually have some frizz anyway but instead of dampening the frizzy parts it just seems to make them hard and unmanageable. I prefer the Dirty hair cream on very curly hair.

I have pretty fine hair and have unsuccessfully tried every product imaginable to improve upon my situation. When this new beach hair craze started I was excited, but other products similar to this added weight and/or were sticky - leaving my hair in more of a mess. I was skeptical when the lady at the Lush store recommended it, but it was so affordable I gave it a try. SO GLAD I did. My hair has more body - fullness but not poofy, and this gives great definition to my layers. Also, it smells great and is not stiff (though it does have a little hold to it - not like hairspray though). Love it.

Sea Spray is the one of the first products I bought from Lush. I always say YouTube hauls and reviews on how amazing it was and I had to try it for myself.

IT IS AMAZING. I use it every time I take a shower! I spray it 3-4 times inside of my hands, rub it, and scrunch it on my damp, brushed hair and let it air dry. Hello beach waves! Sometimes I'll do the same thing and blow dry my hair for extreme volume.

The smell is also fantastic. It is that fresh, beachy, sand-between-your-toes smell. I think Sea Spray should be in everyone's hair product arsenal

I bought this because I hat hair sprays but I hate the crunchy feel of gel as well, and pomade makes my naturally oily hair greasy. This adds a nice hold and makes the hair look more styled with very little effort. I don't see much volume, but my hair is also about 23-25 inches long, so nothing really gives me volume. There's no crunch with it, but if I add too much it gets a residuey look.

My only complaint is that the nozzle doesn't mist but shoots out a glob of product.

I use this product as kind of a finishing spray/hair spray. I straighten my hair most days, my hair is thick and naturally wavy/frizzy. I've only used it on my straightened hair, but look forward to trying it on my natural hair. The smell is the best part, it is intoxicating and pairs perfectly with the conditioner I use, Happy Happy Joy Joy. Overall, I am happy with this product!

I absolutely LOVE Sea Spray. I have naturally wavy hair. I usually use a light mousse or sprunch spray to enhance the waves after a shower, but those are heavy, and leave my hair sticky, or crunchy. Sea Spray does to your hair what spending a day at the beach does to your hair. This formula boosts volume, enhances shine, and makes my waves super wavy with just a simple scrunch. It's also great for "touch ups" to freshen up your hair. Smells divine. Reminiscent of sun tan oil and the ocean. I need a huge bottle of this. The small size is my ONLY con.

Sea Spray can be used two basic ways:

1) as a hairspray. It sets without getting too crunchy but definitely holds down the fort. It does not have that powdery salon smell of usual hairspray, in fact the orange blossoms give you more of a freshly washed hair smell.

2) as a scrunch spray (my usual choice)

I have very dense wild curly hair (ethnic/hispanic, if you will)and curls just don't stick the way I want them to.

Solution ? When my hair is still a little damp, I give it a one-over with sea salt then scrunch. It locks my locks into place while still leaving them bouncy, soft to the touch and shiny!! And best of all, no crunch !! Also works for resetting curls that have been out in the wind.

this is a permanent resident of my peignoir, my only complaint is that I need a bigger bottle !! A little goes a long way with this product, I just have a LOT of hair and I am using this almost every day.

My hair is blonde and very fine, but also very thick (2cfii), so the weight tends to pull my waves straight. Sea spray is amazing! I towel dry my hair and spray it on, then scrunch my waves and let them air dry. Even if I brush my hair after it dries, my waves stay! It gives just enough hold to keep them in place all day without being sticky or making my hair feel nasty. I am very picky about what I put on my hair and hate it to smell like hair (that unwashed dirty hair smell) or in any way bad or dirty. Sea spray makes it smell like a sunny day at the beach!

this spray does exactly what it says: it gives great texture and volume. it also smells amazing. the best part is that your hair is not sticky or crunchy afterwards, so you can run your fingers through without getting stuck. will be buying this FOREVER.

I was skeptical about this product because although I like the idea of "beachy waves", most products like this just end up looking dirty. This one made my hair shiny, added texture and and surprisingly some hold to my just curled dry hair. As far as volume, I saw very little for my long thick brown hair when used on dry hair. It also works great in damp hair (this is where the volume comes in) for a super beachy look.

The smell of this stuff is amazing, and since I found out Happy Happy Joy Joy is too light for my hair, this is a great way to still get that fragrance. Word of warning: it's really easy to use more than you need, and often have to wash my hair the next day. Too much and a good night's sleep can lead to a tangled mess the next day. Because of this I don't use every day as I only wash my hair twice a week, but will be repurchasing when I run out. Love this stuff!

i really like this sea spray! i borrowed my cousin's, and i loved it. it smells like the ocean, and keeps my hair in its position. the only thing about it is that it feels really weird in my hair, and made a couple strands stick together, but it's not that bad :)
