Wet both hair and the shampoo bar. Glide the shampoo bar down the length of your hair about three times (right, left and back). Work into a lather and rinse thoroughly. Follow with LUSH conditioner if needed. Keep your solid shampoo in a cool, dry place between uses; we recommend using a LUSH shampoo bar tin.

Solid seaweed shampoo for shine and body
Soften tangled locks and add oceans of shine with this mineral-rich, sea salt volumizing shampoo. Seanik is made with nourishing ingredients from the sea: softening Irish moss seaweed and Japanese nori seaweed make your hair soft as silk from root to tips, and sea salt gives body and volume to hair that’s fallen flat. One seriously sexy shampoo, we added lemon oil for extra shine, and the exotic far eastern fragrance of sensual mimosa and jasmine oils to bathe you in the heady scent of tropical flora all day long.
- Sea salt for body: Mineral-rich sea salt boosts the volume and shine of limp, lifeless hair.
- Sea what? Softening seaweed strands infuse as you lather, and protein packed nori seaweed is particularly effective at helping care for your scalp.
- Scent and shine: Lemon adds loads of shine, and exotic florals scent your locks.

Q:I have normal to oily hair and I wash my hair everyday. How often can I use this shampoo bar? Is it ok to use it daily?Asked on 10/6/2013 by Zoe from Los Angeles, CA
A:Our shampoo bars can be used on a daily basis, the choice is entirely up to you! :)Answered on 11/18/2013 by Anonymous
Q:Is this shampoo bar drying? I have somewhat dry, fine hair.Asked on 8/5/2013 by Whovian from Roseville, CA
A:This bar is a bit drying, it is best for average to oily hair. For dry hair, the best solid shampoo would be the super hydrating "Godiva."Answered on 8/14/2013 by Anonymous
Q:I have oily roots with dandruff and drier at the ends. Will this work with my hair?Asked on 6/8/2013 by Tina the Lusie from Los Angeles, CA.
A:Seanik sounds like a great choice for you! The sea salt will help to control oil at the scalp level, and the seaweed and lemon will help with softness and shine.Answered on 10/2/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:Tina, yes! I used to try not to wash my hair every 2-3 days, but it was getting so oily at the scalp and dead at the bottom that I didn't have a choice but to clean it and dry it more frequently. I promise you that after switching to these dry shampoo bars, I can go a full 2.9 days without oil. I did finally have to get a trim though... my ends looked like hay.Answered on 6/12/2013 by Hannahbal from San Diego, CA
Q:Will this shampoo bar leave chunks of seaweed in my hair?Asked on 5/28/2013 by Tina Lushie from Los Angeles, CA.
A:Seanik shouldn't leave any seaweed in your hair, as the pieces should just rinse out as you are shampooing!Answered on 9/27/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:So far no seaweed bits in my hair. A piece may come off periodically but really I have not had any issues with picking seaweed out of my hair at all. If pieces do come out they've all rinsed out unnoticed. I have very long, straight hair and I've been using Seanik for about 3 weeks now.Answered on 6/21/2013 by Natnat from Houston, TX
Q:Will this make my hair soft? Add is this good for dry scalps?Asked on 4/30/2013 by Nat
A:Seanik definitely helps to soften the hair, as it contains Irish moss and Japanese nori seaweed, both of which add nutrients to the hair to make it soft. The same ingredients are also fantastic for sorting out scalp troubles!Answered on 9/25/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:Does this contain lye? I am VERY allergic to lye, and though it's not listed as an ingredient, it is the compound that makes solid soaps solid and it's never listed in the ingredient lists for those, either. I want to make sure it is lye-free before I buy it...Asked on 3/27/2013 by Jayson Kitty from Cumming, GA
A:Lye is an alternative name for sodium hydroxide and although we don't use it in Seanik shampoo,we use it in many of our soaps so we recommend an extra caution to all customers severely allergic to this ingredient. All our products are made in the same facility,so cross-transference of ingredients is always a possibility.Answered on 9/20/2013 by Anonymous
Q:I used to use Soft (retro product) and loved it, as it really addressed my soft water problem when shampooing, but I don't see that you carry it anymore. Is Seanik a good substitute? If not, is there anything else that you can recommend?Asked on 2/26/2013 by Carlotta from Brigantine, NJ
A:We highly recommend Seanick as it is very mineral rich, which allows it to gently foam in soft water, and rinse out with ease.
Additionally, our product "Big" is made specifically for volume, and because of the sea salt content, it would also work quite well in soft water.Answered on 2/28/2013 by Anonymous
Q:What is the expiration date of Seanik?Asked on 1/22/2013 by Anonymous
A:Seanik has a shelf life of 14 months from the date that it was made!Answered on 1/24/2013 by Brandy from LUSH
Q:Is this the best shampoo in your line for soft water and limp hair?Asked on 12/14/2012 by sandy from rancho mirage, ca
A:Seanik is a great shampoo for those looking to add some fullness and life into the hair because of its high sea salt content. The Nori seaweed will help to keep the hair soft without weighing it down so it is a great choice for those with soft water and limp hair.Answered on 3/7/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:I think so. It makes my hair look like I just came from the beach - curly, soft, and voluminous!Answered on 2/22/2013 by Emily from Maine
Q:Do I need a separate conditioner from this product?Asked on 5/21/2012 by Anonymous
A:yes, I generally condition with Veganese after using this product, otherwise it would leave your hair slightly dry.Answered on 6/15/2012 by mbyrne from Ohio
A:Depends on your hair type. If your hair is dryer or tangles easily, then yes, I would say you need a separate conditioner. But if your hair is naturally silky, oily and smooth, then no, you should not require a separate conditioner. I have dry, fine hair and therefore I bought a solid conditioner from Lush to use with this shampoo.Answered on 6/23/2012 by Lulu lynne from Fort Collins, CO
A:If you have virgin, unprocessed hair, i would say no. But if you've dyed, permed, straightened, etc. your hair, I would suggest a conditioner be used. I've always only used Jungle, but their other conditioners probably work well also.Answered on 5/29/2012 by Little Misses Wayson from Middle River, MD
A:I found that the sea salt can be a little drying, so if you wash your hair everyday it might be good to use a conditioner. Otherwise you should be fine wthout one.Answered on 5/29/2012 by Lauren Nichole from Burbank, CA
A:We definitely recommend following up with a conditioner after shampooing to restore moisture and give nutrients back to the hair. We have a full line of many different conditioners meant to help for every hair type, so we would suggest checking those out.Answered on 8/31/2012 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:Is it normal for the bar to smell different after you use it for awhile? I liked the original smell to it but recently my bar has gotten a foul smell to it and I bought and have been using it for about 2 months now. I store it in the metal container Lush sells so I don't know if it's the seaweed maybe?Asked on 3/25/2012 by Ali
A:The scents may become less intense as time goes on, but the product shouldn't smell bad or off. As for the shampoo bar tins- these are great to use for keeping the bars in during traveling, but I do not recommend closing a wet bar in the tin right after use. It's best to allow the bar to dry completely in open air after use (I just stand mine up on its side in the open tin). If your Seanik bar does not smell the way it should, please bring it back to the shop, or give us a call to discuss if it was purchase from LUSH Direct online.Answered on 3/28/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:How frequently do you use it? I am not sure if the change in smell is from it sitting or changing due to being in the tin... If you haven't used it in a little while, try rubbing it in your hands wet to take off the old top layer and see if that helps. I store mine in a plastic sandwich bag and use it a few times a week and do not have any problems. You may want to call your local store or customer service and ask as well because they may be aware of a reason. Good luck...Answered on 4/6/2012 by Lushious Redhead from Delaware
A:Since the product is continuously being moistened and dried, the scent could start to alter. Also, if you don't have a semi-dry bar and put it in to a closed Shampoo Bar Tin, the product could start to pick up a musky/musty/moldy smell because of the moisture not evaporating and remaining on the product.Answered on 4/16/2012 by Adrian from Maine
A:If you are storing it in the container while it is still even a little wet that moisture will cause the water to stagnate and potentially harbor baterica and in turn change the smell. You want it to be completely dry before you store it in the container (metal or not). I leave mine on the rack in my shower to air dry after I use it and have not noticed any changes in smell.Answered on 5/21/2012 by Bettie Leigh from Champaign, IL
Q:does this or any of the solid shampoos have any sulfites?Asked on 2/26/2012 by Anonymous from Nc
A:Seanik contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate as a lathering and emulsifying material. None of our shampoos are considered sulfate-free.Answered on 2/27/2012 by Megan from LUSH
Q:How many hair washes can you get out of one bar of Seanik?Asked on 2/2/2012 by Anonymous
A:Most of the solid shampoos get approximately 80 washes out of them, depending on your hair type and length!Answered on 2/20/2012 by Missy from MA
A:One solid shampoo bar should last anywhere from 50-80 washes depending on the length and thickness of the hair.Answered on 8/30/2012 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:How is this shampoo bar, and all the other bars on colored hair? I get my hair colored often at the salon I go to. Red hair is hard to keep up... will this wash me out even more than other name brand shampoos?Asked on 1/16/2012 by Marie
A:Because sea salt is very clarifying, there is a chance that it may lift synthetic colour deposits from the hair strand more quickly. You might want to choose a gentler shampoo such as Trichomania or Godiva if you want to minimize colour-loss.Answered on 1/30/2012 by Megan from LUSH
