We use lots of different Lush solid soaps in our house and so have lots of these tins - It's true that they might be better if they were a teeny, tiny bit larger - but, as long as we treat the solid shampoo bar the way it's supposed to be treated (not getting it too wet or letting it go soft)and keep the tin dry, it works perfectly well. It's just common sense.

I always leave the lid off after I've put the bar back into the tin, to make sure it's nice and dry again before the lid goes on.

I like that the tins last and last, even though they seem to be made of very thin metal. I'd rather the 3 or 4 of these which will last us for decades, than a fresh plastic bottle needing disposed of every week for the rest of our lives.

I always get these tins for free because I tend to buy in bulk seeing as there's no Lush stores in my state. This tin is a great idea. Too bad that it's WAY too small to fit a shampoo bar into until you've used it for about a month. Then when you can finally fit one in there, it sticks to the bottom and is extremely difficult to dislodge and as your shampoo bar wears down, it's likely to break being pulled out. It's good for OTHER products, like traveling with a little bit of cleanser or for Baby Face or a small, worn down massage bar.

Here's a tip for customers who are still willing to bother with this tin: Sprinkle salt at the bottom and your shampoo bar won't stick.
A tip for Lush: Make this tin larger so shampoo bars actually fit in it.

    Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

I LOVE my Seanik Shampoo Bar, and I REALLY wanted to love this tin I got for it. It's exactly the right size, and I loved that it wouldn't take up a ton of room in my shower. What I don't love is the way the shampoo bar sticks to the bottom of the tin if you put it in wet; I bought the Seanik Shampoo Bar instead of the Big Shampoo because the saleslady said the bar would last 3x as long, but I don't see how it would when I'm washing large quantities down the drain just trying to get at it! I've got my beloved Seanik in an empty Aqua Marina container now (on its side, and with the lid cracked so it can dry out - poor thing!)

Having said all that, let me say this: LUSH, you're SO VERY CLOSE with this one - if you'll make it a wee bit taller (I'm talking 1/4", here) and add some nubs to the bottom so the water can drain and the bar won't stick to the tin (like a regular travel soap dish - I can upload pix if I'm not explaining clearly enough), I will buy THAT and give it five stars and use it and love it forever. I'm not kidding.

      Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

I really don't recommend using it for the shampoo bar because its really slippery in the shower and it always get stuck. After chipping my nail trying to open it I knew had to find an alternative. So now I just put my shampoo bar in my used fresh facial mask container and just leave it upside down. The shampoo bar fits perfectly into it perfectly and I have a way easier time opening it. So now I just use this tin for my Fresh Farmacy cleanser, which I cut into smaller pieces.

      Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

well, I got the circular tin a couple weeks ago, and I'm liking it pretty well, it holds my shampoo bar, which I love by the way, and keeps it from melting away from the water. it's doing that job perfectly, but the only problem I have is that I can not open it at all!! I have only been able to open it like two times, like I said I have had it for a little more than 2 weeks now. sometimes I just give up, and use my regular shampoo, it is so slippery with water on it. Next time before I take a shower, I'm going to nave to remember to open it before I turn on the water. Other than that, I love it!! maybe it is just mine that has that issue. all in all, I think its a very great product and worth buying.

(P.S.) I'm not the strongest person in the world, but I wouldn't say I'm weak

      Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

The first time I received one of these was when I ordered two solid shampoos and I thought of it as a score. Little did I know that it was easily bendable and the smallest dent can make it extremely difficult to open. I don't have a local lush so when someone I knew was going to be over by one I sent them to get me some things hoping to save the cost of shipping. They returned with the items I asked for, all solid shampoos/conditioner(s), all placed in these tins. I grimaced. I just spent twenty minutes trying to remove the Jungle conditioner from the tin by banging it against the counter, flipping the pan upside down and running it under hot water, and trying to pressure the sides. In the process I ended up with more of the conditioner on my hands than I intended to use in my shower. I knew these were annoying but I didn't think they would be this bad. Good idea but very poor execution. Perhaps if these were made in a plastic container or stronger alinumum they would be worth the steal.

        Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

I love this tin. I was a little skeptical at first after reading people's horror stories with it, but after my first use of my solid shampoo, I figured out the best way to use it. Firstly, I don't keep my shampoo in the shower but I keep it by my sink with my cosmetics. It's not a big deal for me as I only shower every other day and I can just grab it quickly on my way to the shower. Then before I shower, I take it out of the tin, put it in the lid, and put it on the top of my toilet until I am ready to use it (if the top of your toilet is not conveniently placed in arms reach of your shower like mine, I would try keeping in on the ground next to your shower which is what I do when I visit my parents). Then after I use it, I make sure the bar and lid are as dry as possible and put it back in the lid. After I finish my shower, I leave the bar in the lid until it air dries (just a few hours), and then I put it back in the tin and it's good to go until the next time I need it! I know this sounds like a lot, but it's really become second nature to me. And it gets as many possible uses out of my bar as I can without having to worry about it getting stuck or melty. The inside of my tin still looks like it has never been used! Lush products are worth putting a little extra worth into!

          Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

Everyone says to get the body butter tins because the shampoo bar won't get stuck in it but I've used the Shampoo bar tin forever for my shampoo. What I do is when I take a shower keep it in the tin away from the water, Then use the shampoo and put the shampoo bar on a hand towel or anyother towel you have laying in your bathroom and take the tin out of the shower and lay it by the shampoo. Then when you get out of the shower even if it's not all the way dry you can still place it in the tin. But don't close it up. You can snap the lid on the bottom of the holder. And it will never get stuck, But you might have it hit the bottom if it does. Rarely though.

Why haven't these been redesigned yet?? The shampoo sticks to the bottom and there's no room to get your fingers in to get it out. That is of course if you can even get it open. It sticks shut quite easily. Needs grips for slippery wet hands. God forbid you drop it and it dents, you'll never get it off, and there went a [$] shampoo bar in the trash. The only reason it got two stars is for the idea. Great idea, lousy rendition.

                Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

Ok so I don't like this thing. I gave it two only because I have not tried every shampoo bar so I don't know if it doesn't work well with any of the bar shampoos or just NEW!. So when i got the shampoo bar I got this as well. i had read the reviews about the nightmare experiences with this tin both on the NEW! page and the tin page, but I didn't listen. So I use my shampoo bar and put it in the dry tin and didn't put the lid on. When i came back within 12 hours it had adhered to the container and was liquifying from the outside in. I quickly got the soap bar out and began putting it in a soap dish and since then I have had no problems. I just would stress to keep an eye on your shampoo bar if you use the container. I loved the material it was made out of and the design it just didn't work with the product.

                  Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

I got two of these free when they were running the buy two/get tin free promotion. They both ended up getting stuck shut, impossible to open while wet. And,you know, I use these in the shower, so....yea. Not useful. They would be better if the lid wasn't quite so tight, and if they were about .5" bigger all around so you could actually get a finger in there and unstick the shampoo bars when they inevitably get stuck.

The GOOD news is, I found a very, very similar item at a container store, which is slightly bigger, and leaves about .5 inch around the shampoo bar. For 1/4 of the price of this. I bought 4, and have been using THOSE for a month. If you get these free, try them. If now, look elsewhere, it's not hard to find something that'll work.

                    Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

This product needs a bit of a redesign. First, it's difficult to open because there's no traction from the material or texture in the design to grip. Second, the shampoos get glued to the inside because again, no texture. The flat bottom and close fitting sides make it difficult to get out. Someone said store the container upside down but if the container was properly designed, that wouldn't be necessary. Put some texture on the bottom, some ridges like a regular soap dish might be a good start. Someone else said "a few thumps on the bottom" I had to pound the thing on my shower floor sometimes to get it to finally pop out. That's not a few thumps on the bottom. Put opposing lips on the top AND bottom of the tins to provide a place to grip and open. I now recommend using a small tupperware ramikin for the shampoos instead. They're barely any bigger and much easier to use with same protection to the soap.

As with others, after a few weeks my shampoo got "stuck" to the bottom and the lid fused shut.

I was finally able to open the tin (with a screw-driver!) to find that the shampoo had "melted" and stuck to the bottom. I now need to use a screw-driver to scrape the shampoo off of the bottom.

You'd be better off going to your local drugstore and getting one of those plastic travel-sized soap-dish things! (which is what I plan to do for my next shampoo bar)

                        Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

While this is a great product in theory, and I certainly don't mind free things, this product isn't the best. I would rather have a case with an open bottom to let moisture out if possible. If not properly cleaned after every use, if exposed to any moisture, this thing can get pretty moldy. Also, if exposed to open water this will rust and ruin the shampoo puck. Not to mention this is very hard to open- I find the easiest way to open it is to chuck it at the floor. No joke. It's a great idea and tool, but I wish it was more practical. Then again, it's not like anyone is out there offering anything better either.

The product is very easy to use, though the bars fit very snugly into the tin. It is extremely convenient, and great for travel (camping, etc.). Also a great value. I will buy at least 1 more!!

                              Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

The price for a simple tin seems a little bit high, but in my mind this tin is a necessity. I don't want my precious shampoo bar to be eroded by the shower spray and waste away! I could just use a regular travel soap box, I guess, but I like that this tin fits the bars exactly (so that it takes up very little space). Sometimes the bar gets a little bit stuck, but it's nothing a few good thumps on the bottom of the tin can't fix.

                              Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

This just falls flat of being the perfect container for those wonderful shampoo bars and solid conditioners-- the concept is great and I like the design and overall fit. But even when they're not wet, my bars ALWAYS stick to the bottom of these tins. I have to give the bottom a good smack with the lid loosely on it to get the bar to come out. I think that they need to be just a few millimeters wider so one could get their fingers in there to pry bars out, and/or have a different surface on the bottom that makes bars less prone to sticking. I otherwise recommend them for use in small bathrooms where the shower sprays on EVERYTHING; I keep them in the tins to prevent them from getting worn down and keep the tins loosely covered. But the tins are perfect for taking your shampoo and conditioner bars on the road/plane, I'd be really happy with them if the bars didn't stick so much.

                              Comments about Shampoo Bar Tin:

I figured this would be perfect for my solid shampoo, and nice and compact for traveling or toting it in my gym bag. After a couple of months of use, it got wedged shut, and I can't open it no matter what I try. I don't want to throw it out because it'd be a waste, but I can't open it.

It would be great if this were a tad larger, so the shampoo fit inside easier, and if this had either a screw-on lid or a hinge top, to prevent it from getting stuck and so I could open it in the shower.

I just bought 2 more of these so I have about 5 I gave one away to my best friend when I got her Karma Komba. These things work once you figure it out.

I always open it before my shower and leave it close by to grab. After I use it I put the top on very lightly till I can get it by the window.

There I keep it open and dry one side then flip it over then I can close it. That way I avoid having issues with loosing some of my bar onto the container and can always use it without struggling to open it.

My fiance is funny he uses it in the LUSH container and just rubs it on his hair that way :)

I found that the shampoo bars stick to the bottom of the tin. I use the lid instead and leave it on the edge of the tub away from moisture to dry after use. Works like a charm.
