I love Shimmy Shimmy for the smell more than anything. It has a very seductive scent without being too over powering. I'm so surprised LUSH hasn't made a few other products with this smell since all the glitter limits daily usage (at least for me anyway). Unless you like wearing glitter all day long instead of just when going out, it will last you an extremely long time. It did take me a while to figure out an easier way to apply it, however. I simply put another moisturizer on my hands like a shea butter or cocoa butter for instance, and then slowly work in the shimmy until it starts to melt some then apply. Easy enough. I find that the glitter sticks to my skin more than anything else and washes off fairly easily. This is one product that I like to always have on hand!

Shimmy Shimmy is great for those who like soft scents and glitter. I use it before I go out dancing or on the town. It softens my skin, smells warm and not-too-sweet, and leaves my skin glittering. I do find that it helps to warm it in my hands before rubbing it on. Also, though the body butter helps it adhere, the glitter will shift onto your clothing (for example, the inside of your coat in the winter.) That is the way of glitter, which enjoys being shared! However, the glitter is very subtle and appealing, and you can control how sparkly you are by how generously you apply it. It's my new fave!

I must say, I am a bit biased when it comes to glittery products! Most things I've purchased from LUSH have some sort of shimmer or sparkle in them, which instantly drew me to the Shimmy Shimmy massage bar.

That being said, I am in love! I prefer to use this after a bath (using other LUSH products) when my skin is already somewhat moisturized. It does take a bit of work for me to get the bar warm enough to melt in my hands so I can rub it on, but a bit of low heat from a hair dryer helps that issue. Once it is on, I love the softness it gives to my skin, and the glittery shimmer is lovely! I almost always exclusively use it on my legs, and actually noticed after one bath and application, my legs were STILL soft and smooth two days later! I normally get prickly hairs and feel a little dry after only a day, so I was impressed! The scent is also dreamy. It has a soft, sensual smell, and is perfectly comforting and calming enough to use before bed.

My only gripe is that there may be too much glitter. I have no problem with shimmer and sparkle, but it is SO concentrated in this small bar, that it is literally on everything! After massaging my legs with the bar, my hands are covered. Even after rubbing my arms, body, and chest with my hands, glitter is still everywhere! Once the oils soak into your skin, it is less of an issue, as the glitter tends to fall off while the softness and scent linger. If there was less glitter in the bar, or the option (as someone else recommended) of a glitter side vs non glitter side, this bar would be 150% perfect. If you love the smell and don't mind a little glitter on your bedding, I've found using it before bed will leave you in the morning with the faint scent of the bar, without the glitter sticking to your skin. Perfect if you want to go to work or want a light fragrance the next day without having the sparkle factor of a late night out.

Overall, great product with a great smell, and wonderfully moisturizing. Not for those hesitant about glitter, or those who do not like glitter on everything they will encounter. I'll definitely be purchasing another bar once mine is gone!

the scent of this massage bar is my absolute favorite! it smells like american cream. i want to wear it everyday, as it goes beautifully with my lush perfumes, and moisturizes my dry skin exquisitely. however, there is massive amounts of glitter in it. i wish that there wasn't so much, or that the glitter was just on the top so there was an option of using a glitter-free side and a glitter-side if you're in the mood. hence my four-star rating. my dream would be a bigger version of this bar without the glitter - it would be hands down my favorite lush product! it smells so SEXY! my husband can't keep his hands off me when i'm wearing it, but i feel foolish being coated in glitter like a fairy, i have lustre for when i'm in that kind of mood.

This is a heavy bit of glitter but the glitter is small and it very evenly settles on your skin so that you are covered in an even layer of glitter without clumps. It is not something I would wear in the day, but for a night out, if used sparingly on targeted areas, it will add an adult- not teenage- sheen. You can easily overuse this product and look juvenile. Were I still a teenager, I'd happily smear it all over my body and face. Go for it if you're young; I believe you can pull of such looks as a teen. Have fun with it! Any road, many do not like the greasiness. However, unlike natural jojoba oil, of which I am a devotee, it is not greasy in the same sense. It is a softer, less liquid greasiness. I find the texture extremely pleasing but I do not recommend putting clothes on directly afterward. Let it settle a bit. I think it works best when your body and hands are warm. It's a bit difficult to apply if you're cold. Moreover, this product will melt and harden depending on the weather. I know this, I accept it and I work with this factor. In the summer it will melt into the Lush body bar container to form a puddle and harden in the puddle shape that forms to the container in the winter if left unused. Never fear, just allow the tin to float in hot water for a few minutes and it loosens. You can scoop out a bit of product and layer it on. I also like that the product is colourless because I am extremely, extremely fair. It doesn't stain my alabaster skin an unnatural pink or bronze. I only wish it had a bit of scent, preferably jasmine. ( ;

This glitter bar is perfect! I had been talking about wanting some hair/body glitter, so for Christmas my mom bought my some cheap hair & body glitter spray that ended up being really disappointing (I sprayed it on my arms and legs and could hardly see any sparkle or shimmer or anything) but then during the after Christmas sale she ended up getting this glitter bar in one of her gift boxes, and since she isn't a fan of glitter herself she let me have it. I ended up wearing it out on New Years Eve with my girl friends & it's everything that I could want in a body glitter and more! Tons of sparkle, lasts long, there wasn't an unpleasant smell or anything, no cold spray -- I just rubbed this in between my hands and applied it to my chest, shoulders and legs (make sure to wash your hands afterwards). It was definitely very glittery and noticeable, but I felt like it was in a pretty way (not subtle - but not like you just poured a tube of glitter on yourself) my friends really liked it too, and I have a feeling this bar is going to last a very long time (you only need to use the tiniest amounts) so I feel it's totally worth the money. this glitter bar was a great discovery for a glitter connoisseur like me, and I'll definitely be purchasing this one again.

I got this as a gift and unfortunately did not read up on how to use this. I assumed it was like a regular massage bar, you know, rub it over your body at will. I knew glitter was involved but I wasn't truly prepared for the magnitude of it. After rubbing it on my legs (after showering, which was not a good idea for my sensitive skin) I looked like I belonged in Vegas. Like a showgirl ready to strut her stuff my legs were so sparkly! Which is good if that's what you are into but I'm past the age of acceptable crazy glitter on my body. I seriously looked like Edward Cullen when he steps in the sunlight. If you love glitter and can pull it off then this is for you. If you were under the impression that this was a massage bar, and you want a man to actually give you a massage (my husband wouldn't touch the bar for fear of Edward Cullen hands) then this may not be for you.

I really love this product. One thing I love especially is that it is a subtle glow on your skin, rather than a loud, tacky sparkle. It's wonderful for days when you need a little extra confidence! The only problem I've faced is that it doesn't do well in cold climates. It gets very chilly where I live in winter, and I've found that the Shimmy Shimmy bar doesn't melt on your skin as easily when it's cold outside- although the glitter still works just fine, it doesn't make my skin any softer. That's a little disappointing considering how dry my skin gets in the winter, but I suppose that could be expected. Otherwise, it's a wonderful product for a pick-me-up.

this is one of my favorites from Lush! These stores have been popping up everywhere in colorado, and I'm so happy because I'm a total Lushie! This is so beatuiful, and leaves a gorgeous shimmer behind. Its base is cocoa butter, so it feels really nice, and melts into your skin. The glitter lasts all day, and the smell does not leave the skin. In the summer it s a problem, because it tends to melt off your skin when it's hot. I have gotten many compliments from other women and MEN! I would repruchase again and again!

I like to use this bar on my arms and neck and legs. You could use it anywhere, i find its so gentle on your skin. It has a pretty shimmer to it thats not too much. The smell is pretty and calming. Leaves skin looking soft and luscious.

I like to use this sort of as a highlighter on my body. I use it at the tops of my shoulders, on my collar bone area, and I also use it on my tattoos to give them a glow! This can be super messy, a little tiny bit goes a long way. I have to keep it in a plastic baggy to keep it from getting covered in dust and little fuzzies. It was a cool idea, cool in theory, but I think it could be exucuted in a better way. It needs some sort of packaging so you don't have to handle it with your hands, it'd be cool if it was in a deodorant tube or something similar. You do not want this all over your hands, I found it difficult to wash off. I wouldn't use this like it is a body butter. Also, it photographs weird, so if you are going to be in a photo shoot or anything like that, beware that the sparkles look strange. Do some test shoots, especially if you use a flash.

I bought this to use for my mom's wedding. We all loved it! Then, I brought in my friend to the store after she saw my products. Had never been to Lush before. Bought one of these to use for her wedding too! I may have created more Lushies!!!

Only "problem" is that, since it melts, it will get ALL OVER YOUR HANDS. You can either wash it off or use a napkin or piece of cling wrap when you rub it on.

Smells divine and gives a subtle, mature (meaning not like Tinker Bell spilled her pouch on you) shimmer.

I bought this product and ever since I have been a complete Lushie!When I walked into Lush for the first time, I immediately knew I was going to get a massage bar. I thought that lotion in a solid form was just the most unique thing I've ever seen. I was debating between getting Shimmy Shimmy and Strawberry Feels Forever, but I finally decided to go with Shimmy Shimmy (I ended up buying Strawberry Feels Forever later, but that's beside the point). The smell of it is mostly vanilla, with a hint of lavender. The flavor blend is difficult to describe; it's sweet enough to eat, but also slightly floral.
I have discovered that if you rub the bumpy side of Shimmy Shimmy on yourself, you will be very glittery but not very moisturized. That is probably best for mornings. If you rub the flat side of the bar onto yourself, you will be very moisturized and not very glittery. That is best for people who want a before bedtime treat of the yummy smell but don't think it's necessary to be glittery right before going to sleep.
Shimmy Shimmy lasts a long time. I have had mine for six months and there is still plenty of glitter left. It is also a great value (the least expensive massage bar). Shimmy Shimmy will leave you looking and smelling lovely.

I'm a fan of anything that makes me sparkly and this certainly fits the bill. It melts rather quickly so I use the Lush bag to hold it and rub it on my body so the glitter doesn't get all over my hands. With one swipe over any part the glitter is very apparent and your skin is moisturized. The only con is that the glitter does rub off on everything. So if its on your arms or legs be prepared that it will not only get on your clothes, but on everything you sit on as well.

My older sister got this for me as a gift one year! It was the best present I received that Christmas and also my first Lush product!!! It smells so lovely, and feels luxurious on the skin and left it feeling soft. I have very oily/sensitive skin, and this didn't cause any harm whatsoever. The shimmer it left on my body made me feel sexy and girlish as well! I also like that the product is shaped like a heart, so it fits easily in my smaller then average palms. The only bad thing I have to say about this product is the sparkles get everywhere!!

I loved this product! It moisturized, and make me sparkly and feeling relaxed! Perfect after a bath (with lush's bath products, of course) But I ended up having to return this product. The only con which is a big one, is the smell. It lasts long if you know how to make things last long, (A little goes a long way) But I would recommend this to anyone who likes the smell. It is a great product.

Really loved this. I'm in my late 20's and love glitter and I love massage bars by Lush. Add the two together and you get SHIMMY SHIMMY! :) Makes me feel girl and glittery without being over the top.

I love glitter. My problem is that glitter doesn't stick to the skin. Enter Shimmy Shimmy! I was told at the Orlando store that this was unscented, and I thought it smelled very good for unscented.

I love how creamy it feels when it starts melt in your hands. I like that the glitter sticks to my skin so I can hug my man without dusting him is sparkly wonder.

I love the smell- it's very light, so you could wear perfume with it or not. I like to use it when I'm going out day or night, or whenever I feel like shimmering!
