I really really wanted to love this product. I tried it out today and the texture of the bar is lovely, however the Scent pretty much killed the rest of my day. The migraine that popped up shortly after I applied this to my legs was due to the strong odor. I can best describe it as baby powder and a strong "mature" woman's perfume. I washed the product off pretty much immediately but the smell is still lingering on my skin. The color wasn't really worth the fuss for me personally, it just left more of a shimmer affect than an actual tint.

I have a very pale or light complexion, I use this on my cheeks, arms and legs. I can use a little or a lot it looks nice either way, maybe not my favorite fragrance but I do like it. I actually thought this was a silly product at first and bought it just for fun. Ah...yeah...I can't stop rubbing all over myself now. I really like using it just before I go out for the evening, just adds a little something extra.

I wish I would have gotten a sample of this before purchasing it. I am pale, and it adds a barely there pink tint to my legs. It makes them more shimmery then anything. My legs are soft, and the bar smells good, but that's about it. For a super pale girl who wanted a little natural color, this was a no-go for me.

For a short time this was off the website, and upon inquiry at my closest Lush I heard they were having a problem with the glitter formula. In absolute panic, I bought three which will last me at least five years. I kid you not, this is my Holy Grail color product that lasts forever with daily application a good six months of the year. As an almost albino who rarely sees the sun, I have a fantastic translucence to my beyond porcelain skin. This would be cool and all if it did not mean I couldn't trace EVERY SINGLE FREAKING VEIN on my limbs like a blue and pink road map.
Silk Stockings is a life saver from the horrified/critical stares I get in the months when they are exposed to the world when I am running cross country. It is a very natural glow for anyone with cool or even neutral undertones, and can be layered for more coverage.
The cocoa butter base is very moisturizing, I have not had an issue with color migration yet. From my experience as a runner in the Pacific Northwest's (in)famously rainy weather, this will not run down in tell tale streaks unless you soap it up.
Unlike shimmy shimmy, the glitter is not a smack in your face disco ball brightness but draws the eye with the light. This rose taupey color doubles beautifully on your cheeks as a blush or as highlight on your eyes. Where I find most bronzers to make my face look dirty, this does not.
The perfume is good mixed with lush, but I find the jasmine note lingers longer than rose or sandalwood. Nevertheless the heady floral aroma is quite pleasant on multiple body chemistry's, I give this as a gift often and the recipients always comment on how people tell them they smell nice. Not smack upside the head chemical formula nice, but just a natural and romantic perfumed nice. Try this with a little bit of Lust and watch heads turn!!!
To apply this I use my warm hands,which yes will get a little staining but sheer enough to look natural when rubbed in. It blends very easily.
In conclusion to this long review, Silk Stockings is a marvelous product. Black stockings no matter how hard I tried to blend made my skin look dirty, this is perfect for on the pale sisters in the Lushie house. With my genetics and skin there is a high risk for skin cancer, particularly malignant melanoma in my family. Over the years I have watched sadly as relatives who did not protect their skin and even engaged in trips to the tanning bed suffer and have their lives shortened by malignant melanoma. I wear sunscreen everyday, but this is the one and only product that gives me the confidence to fake it instead of bake it. Girls, tanning is damage to your skin. Would you rather have a glow now from your epithelium damaged and have wrinkles, sun spots, and even cancer later? If you want to look tan, fake it with this product, I promise I will not tell and no one will know with such a natural finish. Lush, please never ever discontinue this fantastic product and readers out there, silly as it may seem now, please practice safe sun!!!

I bought this on a whim when I was visiting a Lush store. Soooo glad I did! I'm a red head and my skin is super fair. The sales associate reccomended this for a warm glow. I used it on my super pale ginger skin, looks lovely! Adds a hint of pinky shimmer so I don't look completely washed out. It also doesn't rub off onto things once it's on.

My only complaint is the cost, i'll be using this often so I hope it lasts!

The smell is good, not outstanding, but nice. It fades quickly.

Your skin will have a nice even tone.

It smooths on like lotion and blends; you don't have to do gymnastics to apply.

I put it on my chest, arms, and legs.

You have to have a tin to store it in, or it will be a bit messy.

It dwindles away, and I end up trying to rub on fragments that I eventually toss.

I like this tint. My favorite part about it is that it is not permanent and not obvious. It doesn't have an orange-y glow. I use it on my legs so they do not glow in the dark when I go out at night.

I like it because nobody can tell that I have used a "fake tan" product because it is subtle. It hides cellulite and can even make my legs look thinner and more toned if applied right because of the shimmer. I also have dots on my skin from shaving that you can see because I'm so pale, and it completely gets rid of those. My legs just don't look as pasty. Even with all that, it is still pretty light and really natural looking.

Biggest con is that it is messy. You cannot set it down anywhere without tanning whatever you set it down on. It will get all over your hands, but comes of easy with soap and water. I haven't seen it come off on any of my clothes or seats after application though.

The other thing you need to be careful about is streaking. You really have to RUB IT IN. I suggested using Buffy (body scrub and butter) beforehand as it will remove dead skin that holds the color in one spot and it will moisturize making it easier to rub the tint in.

That being said, I prefer this tint to other alternate tanning procedures/products.

I have very pale skin and I bought this hoping it would add some nice color but I was disappointed because it doesn't add any color at all. It contains some pink shimmer but nothing noticeable. I could have easily accomplished this look with a shimmer lotion which is not the look I was going for. It also doesn't last long maybe an hour, very small in size, definitely not worth the price with shipping and all. Upside is that it smells nice. Maybe the darker tinted one would work better but I'm not willing to try and waste more money.

Love, love, love!!! I have very pale skin, the winter is almost over, and this is the only thing that gives me confidence to start wearing dresses again. PLEASE make other products with this smell! This smells like magic!

This is an AMAZIG product!!!! I have medium tan skin, and this blends right in to any skin tone!!!! i use it on my arms and legs as well as my face in the winter when i want sunless color. It smells JUST like the store!!!! wonderful smell!!! :):):):) AND it's not greasy or oily!

I wore this for Easter with a white pricy dress and was stoked at the results. As a very pale person this is a white pasty leg life saver!

Smells yummy and very easy to apply, like a massage bar just blend it into your legs. They really looked as though they had pale stockings on and my legs looked good, not pale and yuk!

It did not get on my dress and I couldn't be happier! Really groovy stuff you have to try it:)

I used this product just like it says and it smells great with a nice shimmer. However, I have more olive toned skin and the bar has pink undertones so this makes my legs look a little funny in places. It would be nice for them to add some more tones.

I bought this because I was looking to bring some color to my pale legs, it did that very nicely and evenly. However the smell was overpowering and doesn't fade very quickly. If the smell was toned down I would have liked it a lot more.

this body tint gave my skin a pinkish iridescent sheen, which I love. it's exactly what I was looking for -- something to add a bit of subtle shimmer to my legs for the warmer seasons. it also has a lovely scent to it. be careful not to place this in direct sunlight or anywhere warm.
the only downside is that this isn't a terribly pigmented product but one with a lot of butter, so your skin may get a bit sticky if you try to put enough on to really show some color.

I hate stockings because they often get mysterious runs after a week or so. I bought this to use for my sister's wedding instead and I'm glad I did. We had a crazy schedule and if it wasn't for this lovely little bar, I'd have torn right through a pair before getting to wear them! Best removed with some 9 to 5 lotion.

I really like this product, I used it on only the bottom half of my legs and the difference from the top of them was dramatic, but it still looked natural. I also loved how it gave them a healthy shine and shimmer along with the color. All in all i would reccomedn this to a friend because its a self tanner, moisturizer and shimmer all in one. The only complaint i have is that size is a bit smaller than i would've liked, but i know that like all lush products, this will last me a long time:)

I use this mostly on my cheeks, for a really subtle blush. It looks completely natural, but gives me a nice pinkish glow that is really cute. I also sometimes rub it on to my chest, when I'm wanting a little more attention from guys. ;)

My skin smells really soft after using it, and it has a nice, simple scent that isn't overpowering. I just rub the bar straight on to whatever part of my skin I'm using it for, but you could also let it melt a bit in your hands and then use your hands to rub it in.

I tried silk stockings on my arm in the store and it looked purplish on my olive skin. Really comical, like stage make up for a bruise. Do not buy this without trying it first. There may be someone out there on whom it would look natural, but is sure isn't me.
